Congratulations
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
Very precise orbit
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
Well done, ISRO! Looks like LVM3 (formerly known as GSLV Mk III) is becoming boring like the PSLV. Good place to be.
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
What a beauty! No fuss, no muss... well done... congratulations!
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
It had been years since I was this nervous and excited about an ISRO launch. So glad everything was "naarmal" onlee!
You could see the relief and jubilation on everyone's faces when the cryo stage ignition was confirmed. Now hoping we achieve a successful soft landing on the lunar south pole. Thanks Dilbu saar for his selfless service to the nation with anti-jinx!!

Nice video, electrifying environment..so many school kids and elderly too... And of course - great view
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
Saw it live I think at 4am Iowa time in the US. Never gets old. Never gets boring. Tears and goosebumps every single time. Congrats India and ISRO and to all Indians. Praying for a safe landing on the moon this time!
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
Just reviewed the YT on the launch of Chandrayaan-3. So very thrilling to see the entire Bharat nation's hopes, hardwork, dedication, enthusiasm towards the Moon/Chandra launch. Growing up one heard about other nation's space journeys and one wondered when will India be up there. India's space program is yielding so many missions - Mars, Moon, Sun and much more. I am confident that Chandrayaan 3 will achieve soft landing on the Moon. Congrats ISRO!

From the follow-up post-launch press conference:
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
Chandrayaan-3 / LVM3-M4 Onboard Camera Views
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
7 LVMs launched and all 7 seccussful. Cryogenic ignition working well. Next stop: Aug 23rd.
I hope they control the TV cameras in Mission Control better this time.....and keep Pallav Bagla (NDTV) out of the press conference post-landing, after what he did the last time.

What did he do last time? Do not recall the details.SriKumar wrote: ↑15 Jul 2023 04:27 7 LVMs launched and all 7 seccussful. Cryogenic ignition working well. Next stop: Aug 23rd.

Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
LVM3 looked majestic on the launch pedestal and here are key visual moments
1. The launch countdown and T0 (at 35:14 in video)

2. Slight turn in the LVM (at 35:21 to 32:23 in video) or T+7s to T+9s

[c] 3. LVM3 preparing itself for a photoshoot of the day at T+10s to T+13s

[d] 4. LVM3 crossing the MaxQ boundary, not precisely, but one can see the vapour cones forming (at T+15s to T+17s)

[e] 5. As usual the ISRO cameraman have different interests. When BRF Posters want to watch the statistics, they get this & this & this ...

[f] And to mess with people who want to see the stats, here is what the ISRO presenters do
q2ueCg9bvvQ?t=2558
Launch was spectacular. Congrats ISRO on crossing the major first step flawlessly.
PS: Looks like providing a timestamp of "?t=2558" in the youtube embed messes up the forum software.

Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
What does not he do? He (Ballav Pagla) interrupts at the wrong time with a very wrong statement and messes up the flow of the interviewee who is going into proper details of the science or tech discussion happening.
For example, when you want to see how the GG CUS is imparting velocity just prior to CUS CutOff (~9.2 Kms/S), the camera pans over to some members who are in the guest lobby and just chit-chatting. That's ballav pagla for you.
And that's the least of his sacrileges. Imagine during LVM3 launch countdown, someone start asking about how the rover will behave and during lunar orbit capture, someone start asking about the launch parameters. That's ballav pagla for you.
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
He started heckling / hollering at the ISRO spokesman who came to face the press immediately following the CY-2 landing failure, claiming that ISRO Chairman Sivan himself should have come instead.
Re: Chandrayaan 3: Launch and Discussions
^^^ EXactly. And boy was he arrogant. I can not find the video of Bagla talking but he pretty much yelled at the ISRO spokesman who came to the stage asking 'why are you here?', 'why is the director not here'. He was preparing to take him to task for the 'failure'. Sivan was busy assessing the situation and had a hundred things to do. I lost respect for Bagla after that. I do have a feeling he will be allowed in though. I saw a video of him interviewing S. Somnath for the current mission a couple of days ago. So the self-important journalist is likely to get press credentials for the Aug 23 presser.
