US orchestrated the Imran Khan removal.
Why would the US give a tinker's damn what Pakistan's position is on the Ukraine conflict, or for that matter on anything else under the sun? Al-bakistan is a legit beggar-state begging for a handout smaller than McDonald's quarterly profit. Besides, a majority of countries have been neutral or only mildly disapproving of Russian actions in this war, India being a prime example.

Maybe two-fold:
- Pakistan has previously been very useful for attacking the Russian bear's underbelly from below
- way to bring back equal-equal to punish/pressurize India over its purchase of Russian oil

Convoy carrying 23 Chinese engineers attacked in Pak's Balochistan
Senjo M R, August 13, 2023

A convoy of Chinese engineers was attacked in Gwadar in Pakistan's Balochistan on Sunday, the Global Times has learned.
The attack occurred near the Gwadar police station in Balochistan when the convoy carrying 23 Chinese engineers was passing the police station and an IED blast took place.
Global Times on social media platform ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter shared a video and informed about the incident.
The van which was part of the convoy was shot at creating cracks in the glass.
Further details of the incident are awaited.
Last week, at least seven people, including a chairman of a Union Council, were killed in a landmine blast targeting a vehicle in Balochistan’s Panjgur district.
"Miscreants had planted a remote explosive device to target a vehicle carrying Balgatar UC chairman Ishtiaq Yaqoob and others who were returning from a wedding ceremony," the Dawn quoted Amjad Somro, deputy commissioner of Panjgur, as saying.
With the increase in terrorism incidents in the country, the Punjab home department has directed the Chinese nationals living in the province or working with private companies to hire private security companies of 'A' category for their security, the Dawn reported.
The home department and police held a meeting in the month of February this year to review the security of the Chinese nationals working on government and private projects in the province.
In 2014, the Punjab government had established the special protection unit as a dedicated unit for the security of foreigners working at different projects of national importance.
As many as 3,336 security constables, 187 drivers, 20 wireless operators, 244 former army personnel in the rank of senior security constable to chief security officer and seven former army officers in the rank of additional director & deputy director were recruited in the SPU, the Dawn reported.

Fans Furious! Imran Khan left out of PCB's tribute video
Source: PTI, August 15, 2023

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) omitted former prime minister Imran Khan from a video it released on Independence Day to pay homage to the country's cricket legends and milestones despite the fact that the cricketer-turned-politician led the World Cup-winning team in 1992.
The move drew sharp criticism from fans who were stunned at how the country's cricket board could ignore star performer Khan, who lifted the World Cup trophy in 1992 — the only one Pakistan has in one-day cricket.
Pakistan celebrated its 77th Independence Day on Monday.
Khan, who founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party after his retirement from international cricket, has been lodged in the Attock Jail in Punjab province since August 5 after he was convicted in a corruption case and sentenced to three years.
The Election Commission of Pakistan later disqualified the 70-year-old leader and barred him from politics for five years.
The PTI, however, complained that Khan is being kept in appalling conditions in the jail.
Khan was the captain in 1992 when the Pakistani cricket team lifted the world cup but he was completely missing from the entire two-minute and 20-second video released on August 14 to mark Pakistan's Independence Day.

A-o-A Bakistan setting new records

Yawn - Caretaker Govt increases petrol price to record high
The prices of petrol and diesel hit a record high on Tuesday, as the newly installed caretaker government raised fuel prices by up to Rs 20 per litre, another second massive hike in a fortnight that is likely to further stoke inflation, which had cooled over the past two months.

The new petrol price will be Rs 290.45 per litre from today (Wednesday) after an increase of Rs 17.50 per litre, the finance division said in a notification. High-speed diesel would be even more expensive, with its price going up by Rs 20 to Rs 293.40 per litre.
Still cheaper than India mind.....

‘Not Jinnah’s Pakistan’: Shame, grief ripples across social media after churches, homes torched in Jaranwala
Images Staff, 17 Aug, 2023

Two days after Pakistan celebrated 76 years of independence, we are hanging our heads in shame. News of the vandalism, ransacking and burning down of five churches and many homes in Faisalabad’s Jaranwala has struck a heavy chord in the hearts of people who believe Pakistan is for everyone.
A violent mob of hundreds ransacked and torched five churches, attacked the residences of members of the Christian community and the office of the local assistant commissioner, following an alleged incident of blasphemy in Jaranwala.
A truly heartbreaking message from Bishop Azad Marshall of the Raiwind Diocese called for justice and action from “law enforcement and those who dispense justice and the safety of all citizens to intervene immediately and assure us that our lives are valuable in our own homeland that has just celebrated independence and freedom.”

Jinnah's Pakistan would have defended the mob who murdered in the name of Blasphemy.

After all, the Quaid himself defended Ilm-ud-din who murderd Rajpal over Blasphemy allegations.

To get back to Jinnah's Pakistan, I demand that the perpetrators be pardoned because their actions arose from true belief.

This is not Jinnha's Pakistan as it is now totally dependent on the money coming from Western Christian nations, and where their elite wants to settle. So, they will parrot such liberal BS. Inside they are the same Jihadis. Pakistan's problem is that there are hardly any Hindus left to rape, loot and forcibly convert. So, Christians, Ahmadiyya, and Shia are now targeted. Once Pakistan is 100% Sunni, it will be dog eat dog time, Insha'Allah.

Once it is 100% sunni they will get into the caste thing... the west will not want to dilute the 'Hinduism = caste' thing and will label it as a sects thing.

Qureshi, 67, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party's Vice Chairman, was taken to the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) headquarters after the arrest. Pakistan's former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a close aide of jailed Imran Khan, was arrested by police from his house in Islamabad on August 19.

https://www.thehindu.com/news/internati ... 214053.ece

https://www.voanews.com/a/pakistan-arre ... 32514.html

Pakistani authorities Saturday arrested Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a twice-former foreign minister and current opposition leader, on charges that he played a role in misusing official secret information for political gains.

Qureshi, the acting head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, or PTI, the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was taken into custody from his residence in Islamabad just hours after he addressed a news conference, condemning a police crackdown on his party workers.

Officials said Qureshi was detained in connection with an ongoing investigation into a March 7, 2022, Pakistani secret diplomatic cable, known internally as a cipher, which allegedly contained a threat from the United States to remove then-Prime Minister Khan from power.

The cipher allegedly documented a meeting between U.S. State Department officials and Islamabad's then-ambassador to the U.S., Asad Majeed Khan.

Last week, an American news outlet, The Intercept, published what it said was the cipher text for the first time, which Imran Khan has long held up as evidence of his claim that Washington engineered his defeat in a parliamentary no-confidence motion in April last year.

According to the Pakistani ambassador's purported cable, the State Department officials at the meeting encouraged him to tell Pakistan's powerful military that if Imran Khan were removed from office over his neutrality on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Islamabad could expect warmer relations with Washington.

Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency reported in its initial findings that Imran Khan, Qureshi, and their associates "are involved in (the) communication of information contained in (the) secret classified document" to the public at large and "in a manner prejudicial to the interests of state security."

Yawn - ‘As God is my witness’: President Alvi says he did not assent to bills amending Army Act, secrets law
In a startling turn of events, President Arif Alvi said on Sunday that he did not sign the bills amending the Official Secrets Act and the Pakistan Army Act into law as he “disagreed with these laws”. He alleged that his staff “undermined” his will and command.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Alvi said: “As God is my witness, I did not sign Official Secrets Amendment Bill, 2023 and Pakistan Army Amendment Bill, 2023 as I disagreed with these laws.”

The president said he asked his staff to return the bills unsigned within the stipulated time to make them “uneffective”.

“I confirmed from them many times that whether they have been returned and was assured that they were. However, I have found out today that my staff undermined my will and command. As Allah knows all, He will forgive Insha’Allah. ( # they all seem to be on first name terms with him) But I ask forgiveness from those who will be affected,” the president said.

So the bills were signed into laws or not? Not clear from the tweet.

Also, what's Hafiz Munir wearing on the thumb? Is it to hide the finger print which can potentially be extracted from a photo?

Yawn - Public anger against inflated electricity bills prompts PM to call emergency meeting
People in different parts of the country on Saturday expressed despair and anger at unprecedentedly high electricity bills with some threatening demonstrations and even a civil disobedience campaign if the extra taxes weren’t deducted.

The severe reaction led caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar to call an emergency meeting at the Prime Minister’s House tomorrow (Sunday).

“In the meeting, a briefing will be taken from the ministry of power and distribution companies and consultations will be held regarding giving maximum relief to consumers regarding electricity bills,” the premier said on X (formerly Twitter) today.

Burning issue in bakistan... as it is just paper at least no need to add oil or petrol

Govt startled as soaring living costs bite people
As seething outrage over astronomical electricity bills reaches boiling point, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Saturday was forced to call an emergency meeting at the Prime Minister’s House today to quell the brewing storm.

“In the meeting, a briefing will be taken from the ministry of power and distribution companies and consultations will be held regarding giving maximum relief to consumers regarding electricity bills,” the premier said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In a bid to address the complaints of excessive electricity bills, the Power Division and power distribution companies have been instructed to present a comprehensive report on the surging costs. During the meeting, consultations will be held regarding giving maximum relief to consumers.

The decision was prompted by ongoing nationwide protests that began days ago and showed no sign of slowing down with the citizenry vowing to take drastic action if their grievances were not addressed promptly.

Meanwhile, threats of large-scale demonstrations loomed ominously on the horizon, warnings that of a resort to civil disobedience.
