Lisa ji,
It's time to show keneda both its aukat and its geopolitical irrelevance
India has expressed not only it's disinterest, and also its stand on the undesirability of the visit of the Canada trade minister's visit at this time, while major and long standing political issues concerning India, and awaiting satisfactory resolution, are pending with ottawa.
The ball is now in squarely in justinder's court
One thinks that the dumb canucks don't really want to go down this route
Earlier on Friday, India said it had paused trade talks with Canada. Canada made a similar announcement earlier this month, saying such a pause was needed to "take stock".
Only about four months ago the two nations said they aimed to seal an initial trade agreement this year.

You need to hurt them where it hurts. Most Indians have an OCI. There is no canadian equivalent, they have to issue visas. We need to close all their consulates in India and expel their staff, particularly the one in Chandigarh. It costs us nothing except the saving we make by withdrawing our consular staff from Canada. Their high commissions staffs life in Delhi will change irrevocably.

Lisa ji,
justinder's days are numbered. He is a dead duck
the canucks will be backs with their tongues hanging out, pressured by the same turban tomboys to mend fences with India, because their entry into India will be made difficult.....
As a fault, Hindus are needlessly forgiving, and always end up paying a huge price for their one way generosity
pakis, nepalis, maldivians, and beedis are prime examples of India's misplaced and one way accommodation of their never ending demands

Don't confuse Turdeau with Canada. Closing embassies etc are very drastic steps, that will raise an outcry from our own people wanting to go to Canada. What is required is to expose Trudeau's two faced deceit and lies and discredit Khalistan movement.
At the moment, we are doing a fine job towards that.
What will be a good idea is to raise the matter of Kanisha bombing at all international fora and ensure every Canadian realises the threat these terrorists and their supporters like Turdeau are.

I think a message needs to go to the Maple syrup suckers that sweet faces and dirty politicians at the cost of India relations won’t be allowed. The K stanis are not going anywhere and if more people from that mindset immigrate it will only keep festering…we don’t want another UK Labour Party in that world.

I try to be careful in what I say. These are consulates not a High Commission. I fail to understand why a county with <1% of Indian trade and a population of 2 large Indian cities needs 3 consulates. Close them. Lets show them how important they are and how relevant their concerns of where Indian soldiers deployment is on a visa application form.

I don’t think this type of humanitarian concern needs to be escalated.
There are many aboriginals who believe the Canadian state and its police forces are occupying powers.
Does India want to use this to score debating points and screen for history of employment?
Khalistanis have discredited the general Sikh population. I am sorry to report that Sikhs are viewed very negatively. Part of it is that many in this community live as if this is rural panjab.
The average Canadian is much too polite to express this.
But the sentiment cannot be missed. And it definitely puts Indians in general in a poor light.

India suspends FTA Talks with Canada | Will Canada Rue Trudeau's Indecisiveness? | NewsX
Negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) between India and Canada have been paused due to political concerns. The official said that India has raised objections to some political developments in Canada. The official said that negotiations will resume once the political issues are resolved.
The official announcement came after Canada said that negotiations were on hold. The two countries have held over half a dozen rounds of talks on the trade pact.
The official did not mention the Khalistan issue, which has created differences between the two countries. However, after a meeting between Modi and Trudeau during the G20 Summit, India released a statement that conveyed concerns about anti-India activities of extremist elements in Canada.

Re: India - Canada - News and Discussion. (2018)
One way to look at this Canada's support of Khalistani "free speech" activists is that Khalistan is actually a proposed invasion of India, to occupy Indian sovereign territory to form a new state, by Canadian citizens or private militias of Canadian origin and therefore should be treated as a national security issue by Canada, which is certainly to be treated as not free speech and should be controlled by the government, unless Canada itself proposes to invade India
.

India should move a resolution in UN highlighting Canada as a state sponsor of terrorism. It will be defeated but it lays down markers…
Additionally it should take a leaf from Uncles book and come up with a State terrorism sponsor ranking. Pakistan obviously #1, but Canada should land in top 5. Release these every year, make the methodology public , put it on a website, sponsor think tanks with grand names and agenda to discuss like”Effect of state terror sponsorship on freedom of expression” “Canadian terror sponsorship- effect on marginalised communities like majhabi and Khatri Sikhs” “Canadian security forces - impact on indigenous population” “ Canadian money - sponsoring hate crimes on LBBTQ?”
The possibilities are endless.

This is the option I'd promote if I were a policy maker. So, they think they support freedom of speech, human rights etc ? Let us see what happens they Khalistanis want to have a referendum to carve out Khalistan out of Canada. As an Indian, I firmly support this. We should start supplying maps of Khanalistan

Trudeau says Indian government linked to murder of Sikh leader in B.C.
Trudeau made the startling announcement Monday afternoon, saying he has raised the issue with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the recent G20 meetings
Ryan Tumilty, Bryan Passifiume, Sep 18, 2023
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday that Canada has credible information that the government of India was involved in the murder of a prominent British Columbia Sikh leader on Canadian soil in June.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in his truck by two masked gunmen as he left his Sikh temple in Surrey, B.C., on June 18. He was the president of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara and a vocal supporter of the establishment of a separate state, called Khalistan, for Sikhs in India.
Trudeau said that Canadian security agencies have spent the last several weeks “actively pursuing credible allegations” that agents of the government of India were responsible for Nijjar’s death.
Trudeau made the startling announcement Monday afternoon in the House of Commons. He said he raised the issue with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the recent G20 meetings.
“Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty,” Trudeau said. “Canada declared its deep concerns to the top intelligence and security officials of the Indian government last week at the G20. I brought them personally and directly to Prime Minister Modi.”
Canada recently cancelled trade talks with India and a proposed Team Canada trade mission was cancelled over the weekend. Trudeau said the protection of Canadians is the primary focus.
“Canada is a rule of law country. The protection of our citizens and defence of our sovereignty are fundamental.”
Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said the allegation was troubling and a violation of Canadian sovereignty. She said U.S. President Joe Biden and U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have been notified.
She also said she expelled India’s top diplomat from Canada on Monday.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre stood in the House after Trudeau to address the allegation. He encouraged the Indian government to come clean and reveal what it knows about the attack.
“If these allegations are true, they represent an outrageous affront to Canada’s sovereignty,” he said. “Canadians deserve to be protected on Canadian soil. We call on the Indian government to act with utmost transparency as authorities investigate this murder, because the truth must come out.”

Re: India - Canada - News and Discussion. (2018)
Waiting for India to expel a high ranking Canadian diplomat for encouraging and working with anti-India activists.
Re: India - Canada - News and Discussion. (2018)
They are (UK and the US) Canada's maa baap. Evidence is not needed in running foreign affairs, only rhetoric is needed. I do not see any reason why India would not expel a Canadian diplomat, as not doing so will be seen as India tacitly admitting guilt. JT does not have much to loose, as his ass has been kicked multiple times in India and in multiple occasions. But neither does India, our trade with Canada is not large enough to make a difference. We will just have to sit it out till there is a replacement for JT. In the meantime we just deal with the Khan.
Gautam
As I had written earlier, the down turn in India's relations with Canada is not just vote bank politics. There is more to it than just that. With JT, it has become personal for quite some time now, and he has been outmaneuvered by Namo at every step of the way.

The timing is really interesting.. Coming on the heels of the G20 embarrassment for Trudeau.
I wonder if they decided to go with a full court press approach hoping that it would divert some attention away from criticism and be able to present a more "United front" against a foreign intervention.
I'm sure the UK, US press would star churning up the Khashoggi ET al comparisons very soon.

I think the correct response would be to get a Junior MEA official, perhaps an Undersecretary or even a Section Officer to issue a statement. That will let Trudeau know the seriousness with which he is treated in India.

Justin Trudeau accuses India of "credible" link to activist's assassination in Canada
SEPTEMBER 18, 2023
Canada expelled a top Indian diplomat Monday as it investigates what Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called credible allegations that India's government may have had links to the assassination in Canada of a Sikh activist.
Trudeau said in Parliament that Canadian intelligence agencies have been looking into the allegations after Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a strong supporter of an independent Sikh homeland known as Khalistan, was gunned down on June 18 outside a Sikh cultural center in Surrey, British Columbia.
"Over the past number of weeks, Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India and the killing of a Canadian citizen," Trudeau said in Parliament Monday.
Trudeau said that he brought up the links between Nijjar's murder and the Indian government with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G-20 last week "in no uncertain terms," adding that "any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty."
Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said the head of Indian intelligence in Canada has been expelled as a consequence. "If proven true this would be a great violation of our sovereignty and of the most basic rule of how countries deal with each other," Joly said. The Indian Embassy in Ottawa did not immediately answer phone calls from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Is evidence ever needed in the public/media court? May be a pertinent question is "...Cui bono?" What if JT/NDP goons took him out full knowing the blame would naturally go to India. All they have to do is go to their khali vote bank and say "...look that evil mudi, see you are safe here, just vote for us. Oh! and those refugee applications can now move faster...". I could go down a list of 3-4 countries (including Bakis) who would be more than willing to take him out b'cas the blame would go to India. No evidence needed and a juicy news at the top of special parliament session
