C G is hard to win. No big-time leader is there for the BJP at present. The state was largely ignored by BJP central leadership after the assembly defeat in 2018. Had there been good state-level leaders we could have been far better position now

This is an IED that has been laid cleverly by pawarful people and will require deft handling by Fadnavis and Shinde. The agitation is led by Jarange who by his own machinations and assurances has left himself with no space to compromise with, so for him it’s all or nothing. The government on the other hand is in a bind: it cannot increase the reservation quota beyond 50% as it will be struck down by SC and if it gives the quota out of existing 50%, the other OBCs will turn on BJP.

Pawarful has encouraged this repeatedly without doing anything about it himself when he was in office. This has the potential to turn into a serious law and order situation… not to mention the impact on 2024 elections.
Local BJP politicians (corporator levels) have been sending out whatsapp campaigns for mass enrollment for Kunbi certificates for the Marathas which will give them reservation eligibility under the OBC quota. Either ways I dont think its going to end up well for the BJP, as pawarful senior has carefully setup landmines. I think they will pay electoral price for this.

Putting ordinary people on pedestal of Gods has become a weakness of Hindus. They did the same with Gandhi and Nehru, and paid the price with blind belief in their superhuman ability (when they actually had feet of clay). They have apparently learnt nothing. Shows some nutritional deficiency in brain and lack of intellectual capacity. Blind belief in their own leader and mocking every good thing of the leader they don't follow -- this is common habit.

Well, the Panchyat elections in MH show the NDA (including NCP-Ajit and SS-Shinde) doing 3x as well as the MVA. They've swept all but 1 seats in Baramati as well.
If they're doing this well in rural MH, they will sweep urban MH as well next year.

And don't forget - any Maratha campaigns are going to lead to counter-mobilisation by OBCs and other castes.. who are staunch NDA supporters anyway.

The way I see it - DF and team are OK to sacrifice a few seats in Marathwada due to this agitation, and will go hammer and tongs in the rest of the state. 40+ in the LS is not impossible, looking at today's results.

BhairavPji, didnt the Ajit Pawar Gang contest the Panchayat elections on its own rather than as a part of the alliance?

The Jarange person is definitely an IED from Pawarful. The whole reservation thing is also strange - OBC cut off is not that different from Open category mostly 3-5% difference unlike the SC/ST category. So even if they get what they are asking for what difference is it going to make?

AIM. broke Mahua scandal

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra @Iyervval
DELHI MEDIA GOSSIP: given the cutting of global anarchist media finances by Soros and Omidyar, several local media house directly or indirectly funded by him are looking to consolidate further. This includes a media house whose most watched programme is a lady

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra @Iyervval
In perpetual constipation trying to be funny. Another has a lady whose funding is now mostly single source from the government of a large southern state. Falling revenue and traffic coinciding with a funds cut is filing them up. One in fact went abroad recently to drum up

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra @Iyervval\
Funding from traditional sources but to be laundered through seemingly “new” sources. Another media house - also a recipient - born of highly unethical and dubious circumstances and claiming to “contextualise” news, apparently will be joining in.

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra @Iyervval
Desperation setting in all around. Because apparently these elections will be the final round of freebies offered for dubious/non-existent returns. Apparently similar patterns of consolidation happening globally.

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra
Btw one of these is Singapore based and is being watched closely for possible signs of fund laundering. That’s why this outlet joining the alliance will be a trigger for government action.

I think all parties fought separately. The electorate sizes were small - around 400-500 voters per Panchayat, so they just tallied up post the voting.
The reservation game is straight out of the Congress playbook, Kakashri is an old hand at this. Jarange-Patil used to be a member of the Congress, left it back in '04-'05 after the James Laine controversy.

I honestly think the Yuti should continue doing what they are doing right now - pointing out that Kaka had 2.5 years as part of the MVA to structure a reservation scheme that would pass muster with the SC, but didn't do it - in fact, he told Marathas that they should forget about reservation entirely.

I am unaware of the intricacies of the cut-offs, but I am sure that there will be counter-polarisation among the OBCs - see what Bhujbal is saying.

With all the noise in Mid-east and Ukraine taking a back seat. This noise is a lot of "cover" if someone wants to create mischief if India. And it has been quite a few weeks of no-news from PM Modi. General election is few months away, and I hope PM Modi makes it back with larger majority.

The 2024 elections are very critical for Bharat rashtra.

The civilisational enemies of this ancient land know that India's time has arrived again and they will intensify their attacks on multiple fronts - even directly - now that the proxies are failing/getting exposed.

My wishes for this deepavali is that the next deepavali be an even brighter and happier one for the country

CBI seeks LG’s nod to probe former AAP minister satyendar jain for extorting high-profile prisoners in jail

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought permission from Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena to probe allegations against former Jail Minister Satyendar Jain for extorting high profile prisoners such as conman Sukesh Chandrashekar, in lieu of giving them protection in the lock-up

https://www.thestatesman.com/cities/del ... 40500.html

It has been further alleged that Jain received money to the tune of Rs 10 crore from an alleged, conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, and his associates during the period 2018- 21, for making it possible for him to lead a comfortable life behind the bars.

The Tihar Jail falls under the Delhi government’s jurisdiction.

BJP should go hammer and tongs on this: Liquor Scam, followed by Tihar Jail Scam - portray them as the scam-successor to Congress

Portray their broom symbol as sweeping their corruption under the carpet

Their only plank was anti-corruption, where they used & discarded Anna Hazare. Now, even that reputation is in tatters

Hope Delhi-wallahs are disgusted with these fellows and kick them out. BJP also needs a good leader who can be portrayed as the replacement.
