LPG Revolution: 17 crore new connections double customer base in 9 years.
A record 17 crore new LPG connections helped double the cooking gas consumer base to 31.26 crore in the last 9 years, ushering in clean fuel in millions of households across the country, official data showed on Thursday. The active domestic LPG consumers have increased from 14.52 crore in April 2014 to 31.36 crore as of March 2023.
This significant increase was primarily due to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), which has led to an increase in LPG coverage from just 62 per cent in 2016 to a whopping 104.1 per cent in 2022.
From a period when there was a waiting period to get a new LPG connection, and it would take 7-10 days for delivery of an LPG refill cylinder, cooking gas connections are now available on demand, and refills can be availed partially within 24 hours at most places.
Besides the 14.2-kg traditional cylinder, state-owned fuel retailers have introduced 5-kg cylinders for consumers with either lesser demand or lower purchasing power.
PMUY was launched on May 01, 2016, with a target to provide free cooking gas connections to every poor household. As of January 30, 2023, the total number of connections released under PMUY is 9.58 crore, the data showed.
On March 24, 2023, the Union Cabinet approved a subsidy of Rs 200 per 14.2 kg cylinder for up to 12 refills per year for the beneficiaries of PMUY.
PMUY was launched with the objective to safeguard the health of women and children by shifting kitchens from firewood and other smoky cooking mediums to clean fuel.
The scheme provides for deposit-free LPG connection to the eligible household with the financial assistance of Rs 1,600 A WHO report in 2018 said that Ujjwala Yojana had provided 37 million women, living below the poverty line, with free LPG connections per connection. Free of cost first LPG refill and gas stove is provided for the first time by public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs).
The initial target was to provide LPG connections to 5 crore women members of BPL households. Subsequently, the scheme was expanded and the target was revised to 8 crore LPG connections.
To cover the remaining households under PMUY, Ujjwala 2.0 was started on August 10, 2021, on a pan-India basis to provide an additional one crore LPG connections.
The Ujjwala 2.0 target was achieved on January 31, 2022. Based on a large number of applications, the government has further extended the scheme with 60 lakh more connections under Ujjwala 2.0.
Per capita consumption of PMUY beneficiaries has increased from 3.01 refills in 2019-20 to 3.66 refills in the financial year 2021-22, the data showed.
With the implementation of PMUY, about one lakh people got employment through the LPG distribution system.
As part of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, more than 14 crore free LPG refills were provided to the PMUY beneficiaries during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
Under PMUY, LPG connections are released in the name of an adult woman from a poor family. 35.1 per cent of PMUY beneficiaries are from SC/ST categories, the data showed. Women in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have been the biggest beneficiaries of PMUY.
A WHO report in 2018 said that Ujjwala Yojana had provided 37 million women, living below the poverty line, with free LPG connections to support them in switching to clean household energy use. This tremendous growth in LPG coverage among Indian households has been instrumental in improving women's health by providing them with clean cooking fuel and environmentally beneficial by making the kitchens smokeless.

Over 3 cr houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
Over three crore houses have been constructed so far under the Pradhan Mantri AwasYojna (rural and urban), officials said on Thursday, a day
before Prime Minister Narendra Modi hands over 19,000 houses built under the programme to beneficiaries in Gujarat. They noted that Modi has made it a point to be part of the "griha pravesh" of these houses for the poor under the scheme, asserting that there is a lot of emphasis on timely completion and handover of such projects.
During his visit to Rewa on National Panchayati Raj Day in April, the prime minister attended the ceremony to hand over keys of houses to four lakh beneficiaries and was also present at a similar event in Tripura for two lakh beneficiaries in December last year.
Similarly, he was part of an event for 4.51 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna (rural) in Satna in Madhya Pradesh via video conferencing in October last year. In November, the prime minister had inaugurated 3,024 EWS flats at Kalkaji in Delhi built for rehabilitating slum dwellers.
In March last year, he attended a ceremony for five lakh beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh via video conferencing.
The prime minister had handed over keys to 75,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna (urban) in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh in October 2021.
The officials also cited several such events where Modi was present as the beneficiaries received keys to their new houses.

The world saw a Modi-fied G20
The recently concluded G20 Summit in Delhi has been a resounding success. The consensus on major contentious issues even such as the Ukraine war was achieved much earlier than one would have ever anticipated.
However, the tectonic shift when compared to the previous editions of this summit was, India’s lead in issuing a broad economic plan for the Global South and providing the African Union with the appropriate platform and forum to raise their collective grievances and concerns.

Ramana Saar,
A great list to make as a forward. Just a small nitpick/feedback, the point 18 and 54 are both repeated with different values, unless they are meant something different in terms of turn overs and business within India and exports or some such.
I would also try to make sure that IIT's sanctioned during the UPA time are also vetted, else it will be like congressi claiming credit for the work done by the Modi regime saying they sanctioned it while in reality they might have only announced it and sat on the file for however long their behinds needed to iron it out for their money making schemes.

Guys, this is a crazy useful site. Share widely: https://shwetapatra.in/
You select the state & constituency - it shows you all the work done by Modi sarkar there!
Random example: Bangalore Rural Dashboard
It also generates Infographics for each topic like Ayushman Bharath in Bangalore Rural

With the successful commissioning today of 138km of greenfield alignment around Ahmedabad from Sanand, western suburb of Ahmedabad to Makarpura (Vadodara) Western Dedicated Freight Corridor is complete from Dadri in UP NCR to Vaitarna in MH. All major Gujarat ports are now connected to WDFC and Delhi NCR and the major container depots in Delhi area and Rajasthan and Haryana have quick access to Gujarat ports and also to an extent JNPT.
What now remains is a 109km section from Vaitarna to JNPT, Jawaharlal Nehru Port(Mumbai). This will be possibly finished in a year and has lagged due to Tata Construction not doing a competent job and also land acquisition issues under Uddhav Thackeray that delayed the project. The remaining 109km section is entirely in the environs of Mumbai. The WDFC part that remains is Vaitarna---Juchandra-----Bhiwandi----Kopar-----Panvel and on to JNPT(Nhava Sheva).

The Western DFC is 1506km of double lined track with high mast OHE which allows double stacked container freight to run at a top speed of 100kmph. WDFC has been financed by JICA. With this commissioning 1397km of the WDFC is complete.
The EDFC of 1337km from Ludhiana to Son Nagar in Bihar has been completed about 9 months ago.
