^ A small step

But for those blinded by love (or under coercion) it will be how most folk check the tick box on the Terms & Conditions button while downloading any software...

But a small step in the right direction nonetheless.

Not sure, but the book may be

"The Battle for Rama (Case of the Temple at Ayodhya)"

Publisher: Aryan Books International, Year: 2017

ISBN: 8173055793,9788173055799
I have another title from the same author, Meenakshi Jain, on the same subject. Title: Rama & Ayodhya, Aryan Books Intl., ISBN: 978-81-7305-451-8. I liked the book and wanted to get the title mentioned in Chetakji above post. One disquieting thing about the book I have is that the author keeps referring to Rama cult  Multiple places in the book. Rama is not a cult, He is a deity, held up to a high bar in thought, speech & conduct across India.

This deterred me from placing an order for the title mentioned above. May be, I should ignore this minor nitpick and still get the book. Just fyi ...

In the 1980s, I thought Rajiv Gandhi as the PM visited the temple. There is quite a story to it too. Allow me to recap to the best of my ability.

For centuries, many Hindu rulers of southern India tried to build the rajagopuram of Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple, Srirangam. However hard they tried, it would collapse. So, for many centuries, the rajagopuram was incomplete. The deity is Lord Vishnu, known here as Sri Ranganatha, in a reclining posture, facing southern direction.

So, in the 1980s, the Ahobila Muth Jeeyar/pontiff claimed that Lord Vishnu appeared in a dream and entrusted the task of constructing the rajagopuram to HH. He asked for an estimate for constructing the tower and was told it will cost INR20L. Please remember INR20L was a humongous amount in mid 80s. The muth & pontiff were of limited means, and HH was 80+ years in age. So, he asked the devout to raise the funds and contribute to the construction of the rajagopuram. When the PM of the day, Rajiv Gandhi heard, he contributed INR1L towards the corpus. Eventually, the pontiff & the muth raised the funds (I vividly recollect my father send in some money, maybe INR1,000).

The construction started and at the ripe age of 80+ years, HH the pontiff of Ahobila Muth would supervise the progress on a daily basis. He would go up the scaffolding to see the progress himself. Finally, after months & years, the construction was complete, built with modern civil engineering practices and that rajagopuram still stands (there is an Sri Lankan angle to this too but that is for another day).

For the ribbon cutting/inauguration ceremony, PM Rajiv Gandhi was invited along with TN CM of the day, MGR. I recollect seeing the pictures of Rajiv Gandhi at Sri Ranganathaswamy temple@Srirangam in The Hindu, front page news accompanied with B&W photograph.

After the completion of this task, a few months/years later, HH the pontiff breathed his last and shed his mortal coil, having competed his task entrusted by the Lord Himself.

When I look back, the INC of today is a different beast when compared to INC of Rajiv Gandhi in 1980s. May be, Rajiv was naive/corrupt, but he wasn't anti-Hindu like the INC of today. Mamma mia has truly changed the party into a anti-Hindu beast

Manish ji,

she is the phase 2 of a project and an objective that had already been activated once before in 1947

now the global wokes and commies have been incorporated into the eclectically corrosive and malevolent mix

but the mafia famiglia will now be forced out of UP by constraining them to contest LS elections/seeking RS nominations from other states

in 1947, when the britshits contrived, along with the BIF, to thrust upon India, surreptitiously, and clandestinely, a bunch of clowns as their chosen rulers, their conspiracy succeeded....way beyond expectations...but now, the Indians are slowly and increasingly starting to figure it out

what we were, furtively and stealthily robbed of, was the golden opportunity of an entire society that would have focused all its energies on progress and excellence.

Instead we were hobbled by the sheer weight of a massive albatross around our national neck

Report Says Special Poojas, Annadanam, Live Telecast Of Ram Mandir Consecration Prohibited In Tamil Nadu Temples Through ‘Unofficial Verbal Order’

January 21, 2024 The Commune

With the entire nation gearing up for the consecration of the grand Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January 2024, a report by Tamil news daily Dinamalar has shocked devotees which says that the DMK government in Tamil Nadu has issued ‘verbal orders’ unofficially to prohibit Annadanam (free food) and other special poojas in temples marking the ceremony.

This ‘unofficial verbal’ directive explicitly prohibits any temple under the ambit of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department from conducting special prayers & poojas, offering Annadanam, or organizing related programs on 22 January 2024. This move has sparked considerable dissatisfaction among the devotees.

Usually, during major festivals and occasions, devotees, Hindu organizations, social activists, political parties in their respective areas arrange for special poojas, bhajans and offer Annadanam at the local temples with funds from their own pockets and the public.

According to Dinamalar’s report, the Tamil Nadu government has ‘verbally warned temple administrators that no programs, whether on behalf of the temple administration, devotees, organizations, or parties, should be conducted.

“No special puja, offering of Annadanam and any related programs should be held in Tamil Nadu temples on the occasion of the opening ceremony of Ayodhya Ram temple. No program should be held on behalf of the temple administration or in the name of devotees or in the name of organizations or parties. It should not be advertised and bannered. Action will be taken against the concerned temple executive if any activities including Annadanam are done in violation.“, temple executives have been warned states the Dinamalar report.

Dinamalar report also stated that the police are actively preventing the live telecast of the Ayodhya festival on big screens in public places.

This has prompted various devotees and BJP leaders to express their discontent on social media. They question the legal basis for the Tamil Nadu government’s authority to prohibit special pujas in temples, asserting that no government should have the right to impede the worship of Lord Rama on this historic day. Some even indicate a willingness to conduct special pujas in defiance of the ban if it persists.

However, in numerous locations across Tamil Nadu, police have denied permission to hold special prayers and Annadanam in the temples.

One such instance from Thoothukudi (DMK MP Kanimozhi’s constituency) has come to light.

In the above letter, BJP functionary Mari Duraisamy and one Revathi Selvakrishnan had asked permission from the local police for special poojas and bhajan programmes to be held at the Then Thirupperai Perumal Temple.

The police denied permission saying three reasons:

permission (from police) should’ve been sought 15 days before
since temple is ‘owned’ by HR&CE department, permission letter from them should’ve also been taken which was not done
since there is a law & order issue in Srivaikuntam region, Section 30(2) of CrPC is in effect
The police have stated that strict action would be taken against those who violate and hold the events at the temple.

BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai condemned the DMK government saying, “It seems that the DMK government, which is engaged in anti-Hindu activities in the name of running a secular government, has banned special pujas and food offerings in Tamil Nadu temples. What right does the DMK government have to interfere in temple practices? Apart from that, it is said that the police should not hold any program on behalf of the temple administration or the public in Tamil Nadu in view of the installation of the statue of Sri Ram and should not broadcast live through a big screen for the public to see.”

He further said “Temples in Tamil Nadu belong to devotees. I would like to remind you that the DMK government has no right to interfere unnecessarily in the temple procedures or to interfere with the worship practices. People of other faiths will not want to prevent the fundamental right of Hindus from worshiping in temples. Who is the DMK government trying to satisfy in this divisive effort? I urge DMK to give up its petty activities of pissing off Hindu people once a month. Disregarding DMK’s ban, I would like to inform you that for the Ayodhya Sri Ram temple festival, special pujas and charity work including Annadanam will continue in Tamil Nadu temples.”

Another case where correct political leadership, goal setting, mission mode tasks allow a sleepy, dirty, neglected city like Ayodhya to be completely revamped in a short period of time. According to divisional commissioner Gaurav Dayal, the man overseeing the transformation of the temple town, support from UP CM Yogi Adityanath, and with a capable team implemented, single focus, a new look to Ayodhya city. The Surya stumbh road is an iconic road in Ayodhya with many taking selfies. In about a year's time demolition and rebuild, with widening of roads happened, strict facade control was implemented for the new buildings and the city of Ayodhya was reborn into a brand new city for everyone to appreciate and enjoy.

Meet the man behind Ayodhya’s transformation: Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8d1849uZ4Q

// If there is a political will then mountains can be moved in short order. We should use this opportunity for every city in India with political help/guidance and people like Gaurav Dayal, say in 5 yrs time, all Indian cities can be completely revamped. Money has to be spent and will be well worth it and recouped in short time with more economic activity. Question is will the politicos wake up and make things happen.

Sonia Ghandi's first action was to get a coterie of non-Hindus as her advisory council. Most of them were Catholic christians with one or two Muslims added in as well. It is certainly possible that she was a trojan horse planted in the Congress party. Congress even during Indira Ghandi's times had very staunch Hindus in prime positions. The name I remember is that of K. Karunakaran, called as "leader" in Kerala. He was such an unabashed Hindu, that if he was in KL that on 1st of every Malayalam calendar month he visited two Hindu temples. And he used to come in the state car with police pilot and escort. The commies used to see this and just bray like donkeys on heat.

+1. In hind sight and after re-reading history, I now feel that the "freedom struggle" which was taught to us in schools was just a sham. People should be fools to believe that avoiding eating food for a day, and then getting whacked by every police man standing on the road gave us freedom. The Brits like a big project worked out on the plan and executed. They decided when & how of Independence and which jokers should be given the power and support. Bandit-ji was their chosen man.

Yesterday I took a small ride in one of the more "traditional" parts of my city, typically known as "Gaothan.." (roughly translated as the village portion of the now developed suburb, still resembling pretty much the old village center).
The atmosphere was electric ! The enthusiasm was utterly infectious. The entire area had turned saffron..in the shops, in the houses, hanging overheads between buildings. It was surreal. The area's NCP/Congress and ofcourse BJP, all leaders had kept their own programs, building up the momentum in the run up to today. One recently elected Congress MLA from another part of the city had even organized grand riverside fireworks with his face prominently plastered on hoardings against the temple cutouts.
Not usually very religious, I had a bit of an emotional moment when Modiji and Shri Bhagwat were staring up at the glorious pratima of Ram Lalla. Its as if buried deep inside, every Hindoo had this instinctive idea about what a deep civilizational struggle this was. Modiji had kept a strict fast, sleeping on the floor, yet not slowing down in his extremely hectic itinerary of touching whichever corner of India Shri Ram's feet had touched.
I will definitely make the Ayodhya trip very soon.

BR, I'm happy to report that the suburb of Chennai I grew up in rejected with absolute contempt attempts by DMK to muzzle Ayodhya celebrations. People came out in large numbers to the Temple painted with "Kolams" all around the 500 metre perimeter and lit lamps as ordained by Kanchi mutt. CM Stalin, his minion son and the crypto-christian gang around him were resoundly slapped on their faces by Hindus (atleast in my Chennai suburb). Thanks for FM for raising the pitch and focus on DMK's now failed attempt.

The political impact of Ayodhya temple and its launch perhaps needs a study by itself.
"Humble Farmer" Deve Gowdru has made his predictions. No one can stop Modi from becoming PM again

And in KA, even the "uber-secularist" CM now says his name has Ram in it. His only problem is only about which version of Ram has to be believed upon.
We worship Mahatma Gandhi's Ram, not BJP's: Siddaramaiah. "I'm a believer. I have Rama in my name. I am Siddarama. I am Siddaramaiah," the CM exclaimed" - Mind it!!

After observing the festivities in rural side of Karnataka, I get a feeling that the state still has a strong Hindu threadline running across it. The defeat in state elections is only because of incompetence of BJP and not because of large scale migration to "secularism". The only states where insulting Hindus can be done by politicians without any repurcussions would be Kerala and Tamil Nadu. I am willing to be corrected though.

Sachin ji,

the BJP lost because the lingayaths largely moved away from it due to the wanton mishandling of the yeddi issue, which was seen as a deliberate insult to the community at large, and yeddi, in particular.

bangalore which has the largest population of abrahamics, as well as, jihadis, the BJP actually gained seats, thus negating the myth of jihadi and other consolidation.

the BJP guy in charge of KAR was obdurate and divisive, leading to mismanagement and the inability to correctly read the situation on the ground and rampaging local egos sank the BJP ship

Yeddi is still too powerful to be ignored, or even politically slighted.

They should have continued with yeddi, instead of making a right royal dog's breakfast of it and handing a desperately impoverished congi system the access to a state with huge financial resources and thus virtually and needlessly resurrecting it from it's moribund state

They could have very easily broken it's back and buried it.

Such rigidity in politics is never a good thing because politics is, after all, the art of the possible......

BJPs problem is that they played into the caste politics of the Congress. Who else can play caste politics better than the Congress? They need a strong leader in Karnataka as well. Someone like Yogi or Modi need to be brought, even from within Sangh. Someone who can decimate the group based politics. Annamalai kind of leader. Today people do feel cheated. BJP should get aggressive in their approach with facts and figures and also launch agitations on issues that affect the common man.

^^Problem in Kar is a three way split with either Okkaliga or Lingyat controlling with an Occasional OBC CM. Very difficult now to get a Ramakrishna Hegde type who can dominate all groups

Bharat’s Stock Market has overtaken Hong Kong’s for 1st time in another feat to become 4th largest Equity Market Globally.

Combined value of shares listed on Bharatiya Exchanges reached $4.33 Trillion Vs $4.29 Trillion for Hong Kong.

Raghuram Rajan is trying to find reasons to undermine this feat ALSO

At the end of the day - Hindu India is always there - that has not gone away. CONgress is not able to keep them satisfied in many states while BJP is able to while *DMK parties in TN can with their brand of politics. Same guy who prayed to Ram on that day will vote for *DMK - there is no incongruence in that - BJP brand of politics is yet to sell in TN and they are trying hard.

#BharatRatna to Jan Nayak #KarpooriThakur posthumously.

He was from Barber Community, Ex CM, freedom fighter and anti emergency leader.

Seems like well planned thought to rally MBC community of Bihar behind BJP.
