Still on the light note, how well a person performs their role is more important than whether they can perform someone else's role. Pappu may get a few crore votes but is overall a failure. Ranganathan and Abhijit do their commentary job well and don't want or need a few crore votes - they are successful in what they do.

Some observations about foreign media in India's election from Dr S. Jaishankar
Western media act as “political players” in the country’s elections, and not because it lacks information.. It is because they think they are also political players in our election.”

“I read where some Western media said, it is so hot in India, why are they holding elections at this time? I read that article and I wanted to say, in that heat my lowest turnout is higher than your highest turnout in the best record.”

“these are the games that are being played with India”.
:
“These are politics. These are our domestic politics which is going global, global politics which feels they must now intrude in India. How can these chaps decide who should be ruling them without consulting us?”

“They (West) actually think they are part of our electorate… I think it's time today that we disabuse them and the best way that we do that, is by confidence.”

“We need to stand up to these kinds of attacks and criticisms and rankings and reports because they will question everything.”

“They will question your election system, your EVM, your election commission, even the weather.”
“And one complaint is... The BJP is so unfair, the BJP thinks it's going to win very big.” :rotfl:

This is gonna bite Congi very hard - this will and is becoming main election issue very fast. And to be true its actually fearful that someone / Gov comes and takes 50% of your wealth and again 50% with next generation and so on, And at some point there is no wealthy person to give tax or start business or do anything which adds to economical growth of the country.

People will stop declaring assets, having bank balance; whole thing will be in cash, gold and undeclared. This is catastrophic in nature.

Jairam Ramesh says Sam Pitroda is ‘very respected’, but his statement should not be taken seriously, Sam Pitroda distances himself from his own statement
Take Pitroda's tax statement seriously: Shah
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that after the comments of the Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress Sam Pitroda advocating an inheritance tax like law, the party has been completely exposed.

Modi & Co should use another statement by Sam Pitroda. The one about "selfish middle class".
Rahul Gandhi disowns Sam Pitroda’s selfish middle class remark . Sam Pitroda had said that the middle class must not be selfish and prepared to pay more taxes to fund Congress’ minimum income guarantee scheme. Modi & Co should focus on conveying this to middle class voters (with a hint that his government will not change tax slabs, or all the more better plans to reduce it a bit).

It is difficult to agree with what has been done to him, the humiliations heaped on him with the deliberate intention to disgrace and dishonor him in the public eye

One would like to see a similar over reach in the case of gora multinationals or even many (any) cheeni companies

The rabid partisanship shown brings with it the primary thought of: "educated" but not "cultured"

- This man got us awake at 5 AM

- This man brought back old culture of Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhati pranayam

- This man taught us how to live healthy by Yoga

- This man revived our age old Ayurveda

- This man brought swadeshi revolution

I stand with @yogrishiramdev

parikh_ind ji,

He has pretty much covered everything. He has not left room for distinctions between rich or poor voters The setting of his election rally speech is rural. His messaging for the urban settings are different, and tailored to the audience he is speaking to

The "reservation" and the "inheritance tax" messages have already gone viral on whatsapp and facebook, and the BJP karyakartas would have spread these messages country wide by now and especially the farmers and small shop keepers would have taken note

Addressing a poll rally in Ambikapur, the headquarters of Surguja district in Chhattisgarh, he also alleged that the Congress wanted to impose
inheritance tax in the country and snatch the assets and rights of people and their children

Cong Wants to Implement Quota Based on Religion & Impose Inheritance Tax, Says PM

PM Modi hit out at the Congress, saying the "vote bank-hungry" party wanted to implement reservation on the basis of religion.

https://www.republicworld.com/elections ... -pm/?amp=1

Here are the key takeaways from what the prime
minister said during his fiery speech:

Some forces want a "weak" government of the Congress and
"INDI" alliance to be in power in the country as they thought
that if India becomes 'atmanirbhar' (self-reliant), their shops
will be shut, the PM said.

When the Congress manifesto was released, on the same day I
had said, and saying today also that the Congress manifesto
has the imprint of Muslim League, Modi said.

When the Constitution was being drafted, it was decided that
there would be no reservation on the basis of religion in India,
PM Modi said, adding, “If there is reservation, then it will be for
my Dalit brothers and sisters and tribal brothers and sisters”.

PM Modi further asserted that the “vote bank-hungry Congress
never cared” about the words of the great personalities,
sanctity of the Constitution and the words of Babasaheb
Ambedkar.

Stressing that years ago, the Congress had made an attempt to
implement reservation on the basis of religion in Andhra
Pradesh, the PM said the party has planned to implement it in
the entire country.

The Congress talked about implementing 15 percent
reservation on the basis of religion and said it will be done
after curtailing the quota of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes and Other Backward Classes, he added.

Stressing that the Congress had also implemented reservation
on the basis of religion in Karnataka, the prime minister said,
“When the BJP government came to power in the state, it
quashed the decision taken by the Congress against the
Constitution and against the spirit of Babasaheb Ambedkar”.
The Congress insulted social justice, murdered it and killed
secularism there (Karnataka). This model of Karnataka is what
Congress wants to implement in the entire country. Congress
wants to give the rights of SC, ST, OBC to its vote bank by
changing the Constitution," PM Modi lamented.

The intention of the Congress is not good, it is not according to
the Constitution, social justice and secularism. If anyone can
protect your reservation, it is the BJP, he stressed.

The PM further said the "dangerous intentions" of Congress
are coming to the fore one by one and now it says it will
impose inheritance tax. "They (Congress) want to snatch your
assets and rights of your children," he added.

Asserting that the Congress party's history has been that of
destroying the country for the sake of power, Modi said,
“Congress has been supporting those who spread violence.
Those who kill people, police and security forces. If they die,
Congress calls them martyrs. Congress insults our brave
security forces. Senior leaders of Congress shed tears when
terrorists are killed. Due to such acts, Congress has lost hope
of the country”

It has been interesting to watch BJP's calibrated electoral campaign. Till the first phase, there was pin drop silence from BJP while Congress released a manifesto and Rahul Gandhi went to town with his high-octane "wealth redistribution" and "X-ray of India" rhetoric. Once Phase 1 ended, led by the PM the BJP launched a coordinated attack on the "redistribution" idea, making "mangalsutra" of mothers and sisters a central debate point and forcing Congress on the defensive. If the Congress thought that it could get away by trying to instigate a subaltern class war and use that as a leverage to return to power (regardless of whether it "actually" plans to "redistribute wealth" or not), the BJP has shown that redistribution rhetoric is a double-edged sword. If the Congress thought that it can create social unrest by fronting povertarianism as a tool, by focusing on "stree dhan", Modi has turned the debate on its head. Fascinating.

This Dhruv “Tatti” guy is suave and wants to capture the space ceded by the desi liberal media who had their ambitions cut under them because of their manipulative agenda. I haven’t watched any of his videos in the last 2 years but from his previous videos, he seems to do some basic research and apply it to an incorrect conclusion and forcefully project it as a pro-congress and anti-modi factoid.

He also seems to have received some professional guidance and funding from anti-modi sources and I won’t be surprised if he’s collaborating with Congress aligned forces.

His comeuppance will come after the elections, and I sure hope so.

he has been undoing himself since past some years, and recently in the run-up to the elections. he was in Bharat and made a short video petting & caressing desi cows, praising their affectionate human-like qualities, & then pulled off his undies to tatti his agenda behind making this video all over the place & undid what he was doing - linked it to PM Modi making India "top beef exporter" & ended it by saying that playing with the sentiments of animals (cow) & humans like this is the hallmark of a "true taanaashaah"! dr rizwan ahmed made a short video about this & ended it by garlanding him with apt words & his trademark laughter - "abey chew*iye!" :rotfl:

this guy is from that time when there were more like him, initially publishing pro-hindu pro-modi posts at the start of their social media sh!tfest 'careers', and then suddenly flipped over to pAAP/KhanCross, making it evidently clear that these bikaau commodities had been 'purchased'!

Several @INCIndia thinkers have cited work of @PikettyWIL on income inequality in India. so I decided to take a closer look at his data. The results are fascinating! Share of bottom 50% fell steadily during 10 yrs of UPA. The NDA(Modi) reversed trend in 2017 until the pandemic…

In the last election, a fake narrative was created that Jats are angry with BJP, so Abdul immediately became a Jat

In this election, a fake narrative was created that Rajputs are angry with BJP, so Abdul immediately changed his skin and became a Rajput
Now I don't know whether Sukharam Jat or Sukharam Rajput came to Abdul's house

I still remember.

I was young, it was mid-to-late-80s there was an election going on. We had a small black and white TV. A news anchor (I am reasonably sure it was tavleen singh, but I might be mistaken) said that she would record and show booth capturing. Actually showed a bunch of goons descending on a booth and capture it. She then interviewed those goons who matter of factly showed her their weapons and talked about how they plan the capture etc. This was pre TN Seshan days, where booth capturing was a standard feature of every election

People have forgotten what "booth capturing" means these days.
Nalini Singh on DD not Tavleen.

Laziness is evident in the Secendrabad BJP seat. Kishan Reddy could be in some difficulty due to the same. Did no work for 5 years and wanted to win on Modiji's name alone.

How will they manage the violence on the streets ......

From those whose wealth is taken away

and from those who will be so very eager to "receive" such "redistributed wealth"

kerala did redistribution of wealth.

Now kerala is doing redistribution of poverty.

Will this:
* be one time or before every election?
* exempt minorities?
* apply to govt employees, judiciary, defence, teachers, rich farmers?
