What a colossal waste of money for a few shiny toys!

None of the Import Bahadurs have uttered a pipsqueak about this. They were gratuitous with advice when a Dhruv crashed: Commission of Inquiry, grounding of fleet and what not

Prem Kumar ji,

the gora MIC is not complaining.

they would already be gleefully working on the very expensive upgrade and would have also made serious proposals to their customers to help overcome the alleged deficiencies

the import bahadurs are thrilled to bits, and are seriously practising their first world war gora sahib's pucca "tally ho" accents

My guess is that IAF will figure out a way to recover and repair the body of the Apache. We know that Art very well.

A crash of a unmanned aircraft...

IAF aircraft crashes in Jaisalmer, no injuries reported
A Indian Air Force aircraft met with an accident on Thursday near Jaisalmer during a routine training, the IAF said.

"One Remotely Piloted Aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident near Jaisalmer today during a routine training sortie", it said in a post on X.
And our great DDM put up a pic of a transport plane

This will be a MiG-29K or MiG-29KUB.

https://x.com/indiannavy/status/1791526094245412961 ---> A naval fighter aircraft on a routine operational sortie carried out an emergency landing at Dabolim airport, Goa today, which resulted in minor damage to the runway centre line lights. Prompt action by the Indian Navy ensured that the runway was made available within 2 hours & normal operations resumed, minimizing disruption to civil flights.

The president of Iran has been killed in a helicopter crash in exactly similar conditions like the crash of Gen. Bipin Rawat. What I don't understand is - when the pilots experience sudden changes in weather in/over mountains, and they are aware that many crashes have happened in similar situations, why they don't just increase their altitude, turn around 360 degrees and return back to their point of origination. Maybe manufacturers will need to incorporate some AI feature in the helicopter's autopilot to execute the 'return to last waypoint ' procedure...since obviously human pilots are unable to do this.

Usually for VIP and VVIP pilots there is the added pressure of getting their clients to the site even if it's nit formally spoken, I don't know how the Iranian President would have handled being told he can't go to the location due to fog but it is possible there may be some backlash against the pilot for doing so

Disorientation is possible even after years of training because eve you fly a lot the exact combination of location and weather can come up with something entirely new
