What?

The Germans are ready to sell weapons to a Brahminical government to enable oppression of minorities and delits.

What about the backsliding democracy in India?

What about electoral autocracy in India?

GoI should, in response, ban future dealings with German weapon manufacturers and blacklist them.

Azerbaijan Warns India, France Against Arming Armenia; Aliyev Says Will Not Sit Back With Folded Arms
In reference to France, India, and Greece coming in aid to Armenia, the Azerbaijani President said: “We cannot sit idly by while France, India, and Greece arm Armenia against us. They are doing this openly and demonstratively, obviously trying to prove something to us in this way. We cannot just sit back with our arms folded.”

India responded to Azerbaijan's dissatisfaction with Armenia-India cooperation in defense sector
India has responded to Azerbaijani criticism over delivery of weapons to Armenia.

“We have good relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan, but apart from that we have a policy to promote defense exports,” Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India Randhir Jaiswal told a daily briefing.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that his country cannot wait idly while France, India and Greece arm Armenia. According to him, the listed states “do this openly and demonstratively and even try to prove something to Baku this way.”

What is the need to create a musium for each class of equipment that has to be procured.

L&T designed one is already in testing.

Now Kalyani one is in the design phase.

The Army is going to put both in competition against one another and import something else from somewhere. So what we are going to have is 59 light tanks procurement from L&T. Rest as a result of global tender.

The next wave for foreign defense companies seems to be “partnerships” with private Indian large conglomerates and establish some form of “local” assembly/parts manufacture.

Defence Ministry to take up mega warship, battle tank projects worth over Rs 1 lakh cr for approval
Amid the ongoing standoff with China, the Defence Ministry is set to undertake major projects, including the construction of seven advanced frigates for the Indian Navy and the Indian Army's proposal to replace its T-72 tanks with modern Future Ready Combat Vehicles (FRCVs).

The meeting, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, is scheduled for Tuesday at South Block and will be attended by top officials, including the Chief of Defence Staff, the three service chiefs, the Defence Secretary, and other relevant officials.

The Indian Navy's plan involves acquiring seven new warships under Project 17 Bravo, which will be the most advanced stealth frigates ever built in India, following the Nilgiri-class frigates currently under construction, according to defence officials.

Defence sources indicated that the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) is expected to approve issuing a tender worth approximately Rs 70,000 crore to Indian shipyards under the 'Make in India' initiative, including private sector shipyards.

The tender will likely involve Category A shipyards, such as Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited, Goa Shipyard Limited, and Larsen & Toubro, among others. To expedite the project and prevent delays, the tender is expected to be split between two shipyards, though specific details will be available only after the project's approval.

Currently, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders and Garden Reach Shipbuilders are constructing frigates under Project 17A (Nilgiri-class), with four frigates being built by MDL and three by GRSE.

The Indian Army's proposal to replace its Russian-origin T-72 tanks with 1,700 FRCVs will also be discussed at the meeting. The Army plans to replace the T-72s with indigenous FRCVs, which will be built under the Make-1 procedure of the Defence Acquisition Procedure.

Indian vendors will be required to manufacture the tanks with over 60 per cent indigenous content, and major companies like Bharat Forge and Larsen & Toubro are expected to participate in the tender.

The Indian Army aims to complete the FRCV project in phases, with approximately 600 tanks being built in each phase. Additionally, the Army is expected to propose acquiring around 100 BMP-2 infantry combat vehicles during the high-level meeting. The overall FRCV project is likely to cost over Rs 50,000 crore, aimed at modernising the force's Armoured Regiments. (ANI)

This would be great. We should go for at least joint ownership of some IP.

This would be the largest aircraft available to the IAF for a long time, given that Globemaster is not in production. IL-76 have a great asset for the IAF, even though it is not as capable as the Globemaster. We can happily use >50 over the next few decades as our footprint expands.

Hope this is not let go, only to end up negotiating a much more expensive deal 10 years later.
