Iran War Day 51: Calm Before the Storm? Is the US Forcing an Endgame?
PGurus April 20, 2026

On Day 51, the picture remains deeply unstable. The U.S. has intensified pressure through maritime enforcement and is pushing for terms that would effectively lock in its preferred end state, but Tehran has rejected the current path to talks after the seizure of an Iranian cargo vessel. Meanwhile, the U.S.-backed Israel-Lebanon ceasefire remains fragile, with Israel still consolidating positions in southern Lebanon instead of signaling a clean rollback. Oil, shipping, diplomacy, and military signaling all suggest this may be less a peace moment and more a coercive transition phase.

Lt Gen Ravi Shankar (Retd), Lt Gen Raj Shukla (Retd), and Lt Gen Harimohan Iyer (Retd) analyse whether this is a real de-escalation or merely the setup for the next round.

TOIlet reporting that IRGC have taken full control.
President sidelined apparently
Also a ring around younger Khameini!!
Two things come into mind:
1. YoungernK has attained his promised '72' plus his regular wife (I believe she was killed along with his father)
2. And second more importantly, whether there is serious difference between IRGC and the rest of the ruling clique about Peace Talks!!!
sticking points could be : a. U enrichment b.Ultimately produce a 'Bum' and c. Control of the Straits
Whatever the reason, this makes it difficult for OM to negotiate.
Any news who Failed Marshal met on his trip to Tehran??
President and Non IRGC types or Only IRGC

The US has spent almost 50% of its Patriot, THAAD and Precision Strike and 30% of Tomahawk and 20% of JDAM missiles in 2 months in the war with Iran. There's a major lesson in this for how a poorly conceived operation can seriously weaken oneself without providing any political benefit. With each passing day, it vindicates the India's escalation control in Op Sindoor.

China’s secret trade with Iran’s 'dark fleet' EXPOSED by Pentagon

National security correspondent Jennifer Griffin and former Army intelligence analyst Bret tVelicovich discuss the U.S. military's operations in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's fractured leadership and China's involvement in illicit oil trade.

Calculating the exact percentage of China’s oil imports from Iran is complex because a significant portion of this trade is not recorded in official Chinese customs data due to international sanctions. Instead, it is often "rebranded" as originating from countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, or the United Arab Emirates through ship-to-ship transfers. You can always count on China to do something sneaky like nuclear proliferation to Pak and Iran.

Soo the extension of ceasefire and reason given, proves that there is some sort of power struggle within the Ruling clique!!
Just a question:
If IRGC are in control and not the Mullahs, what then for the future of Eyeran??
This is a move from being a Theocratic state to a Military state.
This is like a repeat of Saddam or Gaddafi!! albiet a Shia Eyeranian variant.
And US can definitely make a deal him (for while before they pull the rug from under his feet)
Intersting next week or two!!

PAKISTAN AND IRAN : TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN / LT GEN PR SHANKAR

Both nations are ummah, though on different factions within. Furthermore they are duplicitous in nature. China is aiding them both for different reasons. Pakland is being the go between for DJT/US team and Iran, conveying different messages to both. The shifting positions are being milked to the hilt. Pakland is an economic disaster.

Aadi Achint interview is a good one.

That kind of cynicism is warranted when it comes to the US, Pakistan, and China. Iran had done a disservice to itself by letting
the Pakis mediate.

Iran hits terror group Jaish al-Adl along Pakistan border
excerpts
Iranian security forces Wednesday said they destroyed an operational cell of the terrorist group Jaish al-Adl after its members infiltrated from across the Pakistani border into the Rask region of Sistan and Baluchestan Province in southeastern Iran.

According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, several terrorists were killed in the operation. Iranian officials have long accused the group of carrying out attacks inside Iran and maintaining links with Pakistan’s intelligence services, an allegation Islamabad denies.

Jaish al-Zulm is how Iranians refer to Jaish al-Adl, or the “Army of Justice”, a Sunni militant group founded in 2012 that operates along the porous Iran-Pakistan border. It has been designated a terrorist organisation by both Iran and the United States, and has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Iranian security forces.

Trump is getting Pakistan STUCK, Asim Munir in a Trap with Iran, Real Game I Brig Pandey, Aadi

Interesting take on how Pukes are being suckered by the US in the Iran issue. China is being targetted and the game is about screwing China to the maximum. Economic warfare is more devastating than the kinetic kind.

// the pukes are being stripped clean. The GCC nations are wary about the Pukes and don't want them. Iran and Pukes are at logger heads. The go between Pukes are trying to desperately being relevant while double crossing all. Nothing is working for the Pukes, their economy is in shatters, oil prices are raging and all the baksheesh from GCCs is drying up quickly. No IWT water and the thrashing from Op Sindoor is a huge blemish upon them. Recently DJT called of all talks with Iran at Pukeland and this leaves the Pukes hanging dry.

Iran's F5 jet bombed US base in war's most ironic moment
excerpts
What NBC reported

NBC News said the Iranian F-5 was involved in an attack on Camp Buehring in Kuwait, citing US officials familiar with the matter. Two officials reportedly described it as the first time in years that an enemy fixed-wing aircraft had struck an American military base.

The report said the alleged strike formed part of a broader Iranian campaign targeting multiple US facilities across the Middle East.

Camp Buehring is a strategically important US logistics hub in Kuwait, used for troop movement, equipment storage and support operations linked to the wider Central Command theatre.

Any successful strike there would carry both operational and symbolic significance.

The Top Gun irony

For millions, the F-5 is less known as a battlefield aircraft and more as a movie icon.

In the movie, the F-5 jets were painted to portray the MiGs because real Soviet fighters were unavailable for filming. That gave the F-5 one of the most recognisable roles in aviation pop culture.

How an older jet still matters

The Northrop F-5 is a legacy fighter platform first developed during the Cold War. It lacks the stealth profile and advanced avionics associated with modern frontline aircraft.

But military planners have long warned that older, cheaper systems can still be dangerous when used creatively, especially in low-altitude, surprise or saturation attacks.

Some Iran news:

Mojtaba Khamenei is apparently presumed dead. There is bombing of selective targets in Iran by US/Israel jets. The Iranian oil terminals are overflowing with oil since their ships are being turned back. Stopping oil extraction is fraught with issues since it can't be restarted that easily once stopped. UAE is pulling out from OPEC.

Meanwhile Puki Asim Munir betrayed Iran. Iran will seek some revenge later on on the Pukis.

Iran demands Big Tech pay fees for undersea Internet cables in Strait of Hormuz

The US has effed this up for everyone. Now in addition to tolls for ships, Iran is trying its luck with cables. As the article says, the real impact will be to repair ships for existing cables which wont be able to operate.

Moi thinks Iran is over reaching now. There is only so much that others will bear before it blows up in their face.

AI summarizes:

India firmly denies paying any transit tolls or unofficial fees to Iran for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Both the Indian government and Iranian officials have refuted allegations of paid passage, maintaining that Indian vessels transit without such levies due to the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Iranian authorities have addressed this matter from multiple angles:

Official Clarification: The Indian government categorically stated it has not held discussions with Iran regarding toll payments, emphasizing that their diplomatic focus remains strictly on securing safe and unimpeded navigation for Indian vessels and seafarers.

Iranian Endorsement: Iran’s ambassador to New Delhi explicitly confirmed that Indian tankers transiting the strait have not been charged any tolls, pointing to the two nations' "good relations".

Rejection of Third-Party Claims: India has pushed back on speculation and external assertions that its vessels made cash or cryptocurrency payments to Iran.

Ji, its not your fault. Typical peacefuls attitude. Scream and shout all day long, death to so and so but when so and so pay them a visit, start screaming and shouting. its so unfair, its so unfair! They have threatened the Israelis almost every day of their lives and now that the gloves are off, there is nothing they can really do when the Israelis bomb them in broad daylight!

Iran had been functionally dislocated and Israel, getting on with life just like before. Much as all necessary objective have not been achieved by the Israelis, downtown Tel Aviv is getting on just like yesterday but Tehran, struggling just to buy medicines. So now they change track, lets find someone or something else to threaten. Undersea cables fit today bill but just like their strangulation of the straits, none of these actions can actually help them defeat their opponents. Relative to them, their opponents are both distant and omnipotent.

I personally feel that time is not on Iran's side, but lets wait and see. Either way, I wish the Pox and all bad things upon the mullahs.
