Three Indian Army officers had a narrow escape after a Cheetah helicopter they were aboard crashed in the mountainous Tangste area near Leh in Ladakh, officials said on Saturday.

The crash took place on Wednesday, but details emerged only on Saturday. Officials said the single-engine helicopter was being flown by a lieutenant colonel and a major. General Officer Commanding of the 3 Infantry Division was also on board as a passenger.

All three occupants survived the crash and suffered only minor injuries, officials said. They described the survival of the officers as "nothing short of a miracle", given the difficult terrain where the helicopter went down. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
All safe. Only the heli will be scratched out

Cooler than cucumbers these 3, as they await rescue....

^^ Landing is fine but halfway down the strip the aircraft veers off the runway and goes onto the grass keeps rolling. Nose collapse and the plane explodes into flame.
Any pilot on the forum explain why the plane veers off from the strip after landing went smoothly

Not a pilot but there are many possibilities. And very difficult to say from a grainy video which is filmed from far and also at an angle. Mechanical failure (propeller thrust issue causing yaw, tyres, steering yoke, brake/rudder issue), electronic systems failure, object on runway, environmental conditions (strong crosswinds, wind shear), human error...

Best to wait for the official report

Not a pilot, but it is possible the nose landing gear collapsed right after landing or had a tire burst. Immediately after touching down, the speed is too high to get it back on the runway. If the pilot had any indication of a problem with the nose gear before landing, they try to keep the aircraft flared with the nose wheel off the ground till the speed is much lower.

I have checked multiple times no tire burst.
Halfway through direction change
Veers off and dioesnt seem to slow down even on grass, the nose wheel landing gear looks like sheared off and then nose goes down and flames engulf

You can see in the video that even after the fire tenders reached the location: 1) They were 2 mins late and 2) The water hose was still not reaching the area of the fire. So....the answer to your question is not a manned fire tender, there is definitely a requirement for Aerial drone tenders. Even if a current drone can be rigged to drop fire retardant cannisters into the fire, that would also help.

The initial fire response to this accident is pretty phenomenal. From the moment the crash happened, it took the fire tenders only two minutes to reach the spot and start their operations. Also, it did not waste it's water. It stopped where it thought it was safe to operate for the fire crew and the initial 10-15 seconds is the pumps spooling and getting to full power.
