I run a Mozilla Firefox on my system. What is RSS? how does it work? Do I refresh it repeatedly. I have to refresh BRF's home page repeatedly, then refresh the window/tab of the relevant page everytime there is a reply

PSaggu,

If you have installed an RSS reader like the following

http://www.feedreader.com/

it will fetch the posts from the forum at the interval you specificy.

its a nice way to read messages (like the email format in outlook) and you dont have to keep a browser open.

You can also use browser based readers like google reader, live bookmarks in mozilla etc.

RSS is a nice way to keep posted about the discussions without visiting the site and for many people its a discreet method at work to check on the posts...;)

Mehta Saab: The Sagar Nidhi falls under the purview of the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), which has little connection to the Indian Navy.

On the main BRF page, is it possible for just the Latest Forum Posts to be the only thing refreshed, instead of the whole page? Also can the picture change automatically every hour or so?

iranian military industry

Post by rrao »

Dear admin,

My intention was to give only a suggestion to admin to start a new thread on " iranian military industry" and not to start a fresh thread all by myself.
i apologize for that.i pressed the wrong buttons.

bye and regards.

plenty of shapes and sizes. I use "NewsFox". Its the smallest and it works
to my likings.

Icon of "posting allowed" and "New post" are both animated/flashy with just different colour.
Flashy icons are needed to attract user attention. So for "New posting", it is okay. But can admins do away with flashing icons for "posting allowed" ?

I will not be posting news threads at the beginning of every month. With the 'Top Stories' link on the main page already segregating the army, navy, air force, missiles and space news....it is pointless creating five news threads each month on the forum. News articles worthy of discussion can now be commented now in one of the many specialised threads on BRF. Thanks.

ramana guru,
lot of times the news is posted on the site after its put in the thread. it also allows for the non news editors to act as news sources. please dont discontinue it unless it is a huge pain to you.

Um,wondering if time is ripe to start a blog feature associated with the forum.
It would help me, a newbie, write better and clearer.

Also is it possible to rename me from "SonarDeshi" to just "sidhu"?

Sirs,

The "New Topic" option posted on any given thread opens up a new one [i.e. a new thread].I would like it to continue as a special post in the same thread.

In my case,I wanted to post, with a poll option (gr* new feature),
a New issue WITHIN the India and China - New Directions Saga thread.

Is this possible in phBB 2.0?

polls can be posted only in new topics. no option to put them in a reply.

Following the ban on radhakrishnan alias rajith alias yet another Paki troll,

The following line in the could be changed :
The missile is based heavily on the SA-6
in the Akash page
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Akash.html

While the SA6 itself has to be mentioned, the impression that one gets with while reading it seems to mask the indigenous development. And this was calcified into the troll's brain.

Hey, could we have a thread to discuss market opportunities for Indian military exports?

I'm not talking about stuff that's been/being announced. I'm talking about looking at various places around the world, and seeing if our stuff might fit with them, and what prospects we have.

Admins,

The following message was sent to me by Sanku. It seems that he is unable to to post on BR Forum due to some error being displayed.

"For the past week I have not been able to access the main BRF page; I can get through the forums page directly but cant reply; I get a message saying invalid session. I seem to be the only one having this problem.

Can you please pass on this message to the admins in the site feedback thread. I cant post."

^^ Sanku, Try to empty the browser cache and then try to login.

Which browser do you use? If you use Internet explorer then try Mozilla Firefox or vice versa.

Link for NAG ATGM seems to be missing from Missile armory page.Although it can be accessed from links on Google.

http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Armoury.html

NAG Link

http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Nag.html

And we do not seem to have any pic regarding Abhay ICV, but globalsecurity seems to have more information plus pictures of proto Abhay ICV. Are those copyright pics or DRDO released pics, since BR should be able to use them too.

Not able to access the main site for the past 3-4 hours now... any maintainence going on??

{{OK, am able to access}}

An error found on the Agni-III page. The image of "Second stage flex nozzle", on the Agni-3 D1 set (its the last of 4 images) doesnt display in full. Its fine on the page, but when I click the link, it gives a 404 error.

Thanks
