For some strange reason - looking at Rahul Devnath's beautiful photographs seems to cause me to relax and takes a weight off my shoulders. I have been attending Aero India (or Avia India as it was first called) since 1993 - this will be my 16th year and I am sure there are BRF members who were babies when I went first time.

Alas I have no pictures from 1993, but I do have pics and videos from 1996 and at that time I seemed to be the only one taking pics for public view. Hence my feeling of relief and relaxation at seeing the presence of good photographers.

Yes Shiv sir, I was surely quiet small that time.. about 7 years old! But i believe, the four most important factors for have been the (1) enthusiasm for the military aircraft, (2) A desire to capture everything on camera and (3) The technology which enables us take such good photographs and the most important of all (4) Appreciation from all!!

I bet what will the case by Aero India 2017?? :D

Looks like USAF borrowed the UAE F-16 Blk-60's to demo them at AI-2009 and slapped on a F-16IN decal, going by the roundel :-o

The decal is on the conformal tanks, something which is essential for the "supper wiper" to compete for MRCA.

On this sunday I could see the suryakirans practicing from the roof top from far away, lovely movements . Then they ended with their signature low-level bomb burst manoeuvre after which i couldnt see their trials and lost sight of them. Yesterday two dorniers made a speedy flight over head. One of my friend whose Bro-I-L is at AFS yelahanka had gone there sunday, and witnessed the sarangs practising. He said the feeling was like the chini photu of SKAT performance at chengdu.

F-16IN model was already there at the previous Aero India and LM has been giving out ads for the same. They should had painted the BLK60 in India colours as well, not just the "IN" tag!

And this time IJT will not be participating.. again for obvious reasons.

As Aero India 2009 begins tomorrow, it showcases some of Indian Airforce's strength to the whole world too and also Indian Aeronatical Industry...

A question arose in me

praveen,

I thought you got those from the road - the direction of the main composite formation (Dhruv, Sukhois, Kirans) was right to left (instead of the other way round!) :)

BTW the above aircraft is the BAe Hawk and not the IJT as marked in the blog.

good tvc and fulcrum stunts captured.. still they are not using the mig35 for the stunts.. wonder why tvc is yet to be integrated with mig35. furthermore, it appears to be the same smoky ovt engines.

hope migs gets an upgrade order (to become mig35) for being so good with us.
