Aside from the immigration there are other frauds being committed.Taking advantage of the IPO boom in India there were some mid range co's (mainly staffing) which came out with share issues tauting ODC's in India and impressive client list in the US. I know of one company whose sales team have not been able to get any big contracts but the company is claiming substantial sales increase.The company is resorting to intra branch transfers and accounting skullduggery to pump up its figures. While they may be compliant per US laws, i am sure a lot of Indian shareholders have been/are being taken for a ride.

BearingPoint files Chapter 11 under heavy debt

MCLEAN, Va.

Technology consultant BearingPoint Inc. filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday, saying it had negotiated a "prearranged" bankruptcy plan with lenders that could help reduce its debt load.

The company filed for Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York, with $2.23 billion in total debt and $1.76 billion in total assets as of Sept. 30. The filing only includes the company's U.S. operations.

Chief Executive Ed Harbach said operations would continue as the company worked on its restructuring. It has filed a "prearranged" plan with the court, the company said in a statement.

The plan calls for the cancellation of all existing shares and for unsecured lenders, who rank lower, to be given common stock. A $500 million credit facility would be replaced with a $272 million term loan that carries accrued interest and a $130 million synthetic letter of credit facility. The McLean, Va.-based company said it was open to changing the plan if creditors' recovery could be increased.

BearingPoint hired Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as bankruptcy attorneys and AlixPartners LLP and Greenhill & Co. as financial advisers.

What is a Synthetic Letter of Credit :-?
Ahh i am reminded of my days when i was in the Leather Goods trade.
The LC from German buyers was like a gold mine.In addition to super margins the Govt used to give a Duty Drawback of 8 to 12% .All told it was a 40% Net margin business (Tax free onlee!!!!!) in the early to mid 90's.

Just give me a job, even in Africa
BANGALORE: Earlier this week, a recruiter in Bangalore received a CV from a technology professional with this request: "I want to report to a job within a fortnight. It doesn’t matter where the posting is, it could even be somewhere in Africa. I’m losing my job and I have EMIs to honour."

Just a year ago, this same candidate was hesitant to relocate his workplace from Koramangala to ITPL saying it was too far for him, says V G Nirupama, MD of staffing firm AdAstra. "Today, candidates have shed location clauses from their resumes and many are even willing to be posted in tough geographies like Africa, Saudi Arabia and Turkey," she says.

Job-seekers across the board used to be extremely location, role and remuneration specific. Today, all they seek is a job. Many professionals are also willing to explore less-familiar or totally new verticals just to get a job.

After he was fired as VP operations of a tier-II IT firm, Vivek Karan (name changed) is now teaching at one of the management institutes in the city. A BSc computer science graduate from Mysore who was fired just 13 months into a job as software engineer has taken to driving a Meru Taxi. :eek: :eek: :eek:

"A lot of levelling has taken place in the minds of job-seekers, in terms of expectations, desire levels and aspirations. It’s a lot more easy to handle them these days as they are not pre-set or prejudiced," says Mamta Jain, a Mumbai-based HR adviser.

Manish Sabharwal, MD of staffing company TeamLease says, "power has clearly shifted from employees to employers.” There is an acute job drought. "There’s no room for choices or preferences anymore. You are lucky if you get anything, anywhere," he says.

Many are reworking their CVs to make them multi-vertical friendly. "Straight fit is hardly found and candidates are increasingly settling for alternative fits. You will see many techies taking up jobs in un-related sectors, at least for a couple of years, before they get back to the mainstream," says B Murthy, CEO, HumanCapital.

Pune’s Persistent Systems introduces reappraisal tests to realign workforce
MUMBAI: At a time when IT companies are looking at ways to realign their workforce, given the declining number of clients, Pune-based Persistent Systems has begun evaluating employees in a manner that would enable it to justify any possible manpower restructuring, including a layoff.

According to a person familiar with the development, the company is implementing a procedure that reassesses skill sets of existing software programmers and developers. The move to conduct such a skill test, which evaluates the knowledge of programming languages and tools used by developers, for those working on projects raises questions since such tests are generally conducted at the time of recruitment.

An email questionnaire sent to Persistent Systems in this regard remained unanswered. When contacted, a company official declined to comment, saying the exercise was still in its initial phase and there were no substantial inputs to share.

Persistent employs over 4,000 across nine development centres in India and abroad. According to human resource experts, such a decision possibly points to a layoff in light of the downturn, which has resulted into a downward revision of IT budgets.
The AH managers who recruited these people should be fired first. If you cant access the skills of the people whom you recruit, you are not even fit for picking dung. Instead of this stupid excuse they should tell the truth and layoff people.

India's fab dreams running aground
http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/new ... ng-aground
fab
Quote from last year in the newspaper
Hyderabad, April 21: The Telugu Desam on Saturday released documents to prove that the State government had signed the Fab City deal with a non-existent company.TD leaders K. Yerran Naidu, Dr N. Janardhana Reddy, S. Venugopala Chari and K. Rammohan Rao termed the project ‘Fraud City’ and pointed out that the company SemIndia Fab did not exist when the industries department signed a memorandum of understanding with it.
Industries Secretary Lakshmi Parthasarathi signed the MOU on February 16, 2006 with Vinod Kumar Agarwal, the supposed chief promoter of the company. However, SemIndia Fab Private Limited was incorporated only on February 20 in New Delhi, the TD leaders said. Mr Yerran Naidu said that the total paid up capital of the company was only Rs 1 lakh though it had promised $3 billion investment. “The government either did not bother to check the company’s credentials or connived with it,” he said.
The Special Economic Zone Approval Board of the Centre also gave permission to FabCity SEZ on March 17, 2006, when there was no company by that time. It was only on May 2, 2006, that the separate company for the SEZ was incorporated, the TD leaders pointed out. “The State government allotted 1,200 acres of land worth Rs 6,000 crore to a company which neither had the requisite experience nor the financial strength,” said Mr Yerran Naidu. “This is a big scam involving many people.” He further said that the the promoter Vinod Agarwal’s first venture in the United States, Logic Vision, went bankrupt.
“SemIndia has to pay Rs 480 crore for the land, but it not paid a single rupee till now,” said Mr Yerran Naidu. “No techno company has come to start its office in FabCity. Agarwal is signing MoUs with private parties to construct hotels, spas, commercial complexes and entertainment zones.” One of the promoters, Preet Pal Singh Mahal, left the company after realising that Agarwal does not have the wherewithal to run FabCity, alleged the TD leaders. “The government has learnt nothing from the Volkswagen issue,” said Mr Yerran Naidu, taking strong exception to the way the government was signing deals.

LogicVision has not gone bankrupt yet, but that is not doing financially well (market cap ~10M$). They have a very good technology, but unfortunately, too expensive and complext to use and many people don't need that level of sophistication. However, there is a very high chance that that company will go belly up during this downturn.

E-Governance in India.

Of the one-lakh IT-enabled Common Services Centres (CSCs) that the Government is planning to set up by March 2010, as many as 25195 Centres have already been set up with another 10000 in the pipeline which would become operational by the end of this March. These Centres are being set up across the six-lakh villages in the country at an estimated cost of Rs 5742 crore which would be raised via PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode.

By the end of 2008, RFPs (Request For Proposals) have been issued by 25 States for 1,06,275 CSCs and Master Service Agreements have been signed for 1,02,851 Centres in 23 States. Significantly, the states of Haryana, Jharkhand and Sikkim have completed 100 per cent roll out.

A Common Services Centre is an ICT-enabled service delivery outlet providing a range of services to the people in the village or the town in which it is located. The Government has approved the Common Service Centre Scheme that envisions CSCs as the front-end delivery points for Government, private and social sector services to rural citizens in an integrated manner. The objective is to develop a platform that can enable the Government and private and social sector organizations to align their social and commercial goals for the benefit of the rural population in the remotest corners.

The Centres are being designed as ICT-enabled Kiosks having a PC along with basic support equipment like printer, scanner, UPS, with wireless connectivity as the backbone and additional equipment for edutainment, telemedicine, projection systems, etc.

The Scheme is to be implemented through a Public Private Partnership. It has been approved at a total cost of Rs 5742 Crore over four years, of which the Government of India is estimated to contribute Rs 856 Crore and the State Governments Rs 793 Crore. The balance resources would be mobilized from the private sector.

By setting up this network of access points, the Department of Information Technology of the Government of India has sought to leverage the advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for the benefit of the citizens, especially those in rural and remote areas. The CSC roll out is part of DIT’s steps to support Infrastructure under the National E-Governance Plan for enabling anytime anywhere delivery of government services. Department of IT would provide calibrated support through policy interventions and appropriate financial support to create the basic infrastructure for the 100,000 CSCs.

IMVHO all the fab projects except that of Moser Baer are a huge fraud to rip-off the government subsidies. After the UPA government announced the India semiconductor policy or something like that there were a million companies including the "greatest wealth creator" that mushroomed overnight to produce "chips". I did not understand what they knew about making ICs or what kind of technology they had. This is not something where you can buy a turnkey plant and start production but an industry that is extremely competitive and requires tons of research and development every year. I don't know how successful MB will be in making solar cells but AFAIK they ordered a lot of equipment from Applied Materials and AM had some senior people working on that deal in India and also MB bought a stake in a Silicon Valley start-up that claimed to have some great new technology. The rest will only make potato chips. :rotfl:

I think Indian outsourcers are feeling the heat

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123534870346144661.html
A wave of anti-offshoring sentiment in the U.S. Congress is prompting India's biggest tech companies to prepare for something unexpected: hiring Americans.

Outsourcing giants Infosys Technologies Ltd. and Wipro Ltd. -- long derided by some U.S. politicians for taking U.S. jobs away -- are laying the groundwork to boost the number of jobs they create stateside, mostly to make sure they can still do business if the U.S. passes legislation that restricts their ability to send Indians to the U.S. to work.
....
If there are more restrictions on H1-B visas, local hiring is the option out," said Nandita Gurjar, head of the company's human resources group.

Hiring Americans comes with a downside for the companies. Indian outsourcers grew quickly by utilizing low-cost, skilled Indian engineers, but the heftier salaries they have to pay to Americans cut into that cost advantage. Still, if Indians are going to compete with U.S. and European outsourcing companies, they need to have people in the U.S. to work face-to-face with customers, the outsourcers say.

The companies' plans to ramp up recruiting in the U.S. come as they sharply slow hiring at home because of the downturn in the global economy. Infosys says it made 15% fewer offers to Indian graduates this year, while Wipro said last week that it didn't plan on hiring any more than the 8,000 Indian graduates it has made offers to so far this year.
Probably they want to dilute the fact that their consulting staff is made of 99% H1/L1 when media starts the investigation, and 30-40% of their revenue comes from financial services companies that are surviving at the expense of american tax-payer.

As I stated earlier in this forum, this article clearly shows Indian companies are competing on the sole basis of cost advantage where there is not much difference between NJ bodyshop and infosys except the latter does it on a much larger scale.

Bottom line: You can not fool everyone all the time... :rotfl: :rotfl:

You mean to say there is no difference between a local baniya and Wal-mart just because they both source their products cheap and sell them for profit.

Infosys and local desi bodyshops are not fooling everyone. No one is fooling anyone here. Outsourcing helps companies save money and give them easy access to a wide pool of skilled resources and thats why they outsource. They would stop doing it once they no longer get that advantage.

Also the bills restricts hiring H-1B as a employees but doesnt restricts hiring H-1B as temporary workers or contractors. On contrary to what you are made to believe it will in fact help big outsourcing companies.

I am sorry for posting this puzzle here. But it is relevant to history and outsourcing. Mods can delete it if deemed inappropriate. Can anyone explain what he is talking about.

AMERICA’S FIRST “Global Crossing”

What is a 9 letter word for.. Mumbai?

J-A-M-E-S-T-O-W-N

The year is 1607.
Globalization is on the rise.
How would a wise colonist have invested their income.. and what foreign markets would they have invested in?

First.. attention should be given to how a “global crossing” is planned.. and paid for.

In modern times.. the planning committees for outsourcing projects are referred to as “closed-door energy task forces”.

Now that we know now what would have been nice to know then.. a colonist may have well been advised to turn to history in order to make wise investment decisions.

In 1607.. even 150 years since its invention, the European powers that be.. and Gutenberg’s movable type printing press.. are still having difficulty co-existing.

Throughout the 16th Century.. most printed books still fail to avoid the church’s “forbidden books list”.
But.. one book slipped through the cracks.

A colonist’s history book of.. global trade, high finance, and disruptive technologies.

“NO COLONIST LEFT BEHIND”

chapter 1

What Was Outsourced First?

In the beginning, it was.. canal projects.

A little later.. it was iron.

Then.. technology was ”spread” [outsourced] all over God’s flat-earth.

The history of outsourcing.. can be summed up as follows:
* canals (people worked a lot cheaper on the other end of the canal)
* dynasty
* wheel
* wheel technology transfer
* empire
* iron
* iron technology transfer (please.. there had to be at least one rugged individual Philistine with a single-minded pursuit of profit) then..
* wage stabilization.. then..
* religion
* religion
* religion
* religion and..
* more canals

Now.. how was the new world upgraded to be able to support The Virginia Company of London’s lofty outsourcing goals?

Here’s how.

Around the year 1521.. the conquistador Hernan Cortiz conquered the Aztec empire of Mexico and “became a man of unimaginable wealth and power”.

About ten years earlier.. King Ferdinan of Spain had sent Cortiz to the Western Hemisphere with the command ”Get Gold!”

Cortiz mistakenly thought the King said “Keep Gold!”

A wise colonial market-investor might ponder whether Ferdinan who.. after all.. was the King.. could “imagine” Cortiz’s unimaginable wealth and power?

King Ferdinan should have clarified his command with “Get Gold,” then..

“Bring Gold Back!”

.. because, in the 1550s, Spain.. has some bills to pay.

In hindsight, some question whether King Ferdinan should have sent another explorer to go “take care”.. of Cortiz.

In 1555 Arthur Anderson’s Spanish subsidiary changed its name to Accenture.

And.. two years later Spain filed for bankruptcy..

..so did France.

Now.. unlike Cortiz.. Spain is NOT a country of “unimaginable wealth and power.”

If it was - then maybe Spain could afford its canal projects without having to start wars.

Cortiz could have stepped in as the lender of last resort.

In reality.. Cortiz was probably the “one-greedy guy”.. the

“single-guy conspirator”

There is one thing that will never change about upgrading the next foreign nation to be able to support the world’s outsourcing requirements.

It all got accomplished by the actions.. of one.. greedy.. guy.

Hey.. times are hard – blame Cortiz.

A Colonial investor tip:

Bankruptcy is often blamed on a phenomena referred to as “too many loans” during industrial revolutions.. and global crossings.

Bankers never seem to learn from these financial “blunders” often repeated throughout history.

So.. shortly after Spain’s bankruptcy, the board members of the Bank Of Genoa changed their names to Huguenots to make themselves sound.. less French.

Then, the newly minted Huguenots hightailed it to sunny Florida.

This is eventually referred to as “fleeing investor persecution”

In early 1558.. following a five-year faith-based initiative.. England changed its form of currency (”re-coinage”).

In the fall of 1558.. England told England’s outside investors that it changed.. its form of currency.

Although England’s ”re-coinage” made it harder to buy food during the famine that followed.. the citizens appreciated the church’s “restoration of Catholicism” just the same.

England’s financial event kicked off a war in France.. known as the “Wars of Re-Coinage & Bankruptcy” that lasts about 30-odd years.

Presently.. England, France.. and Spain are quietly referred to as the.. “lands of.. somewhat limited opportunity.”

Bankruptcy, currency changes, famine, inquisitions, and war in one part of the world are what makes other parts of the world seem like.. lands of opportunity.

In 1563 the term “puritan” was first introduced in England.

In 1564.. the term “f____g puritans” was introduced in England.

Periods of heavy outsourcing and faith-based initiatives have been traveling partners for a very long time.

In 1565 Sir Thomas Gresham founded the Royal Exchange of London.

Note: Exchange fraud creates debtors - debtors create colonists.

Not too far off in the future - exchange fraud will create - pilgrims (but that’s another market crash).

Tip: Dutch Settlement Scheme 101: If you wish your citizens to leave.. take their money.. (and their food) and.. they will consider.. leaving.

Between 1565 and 1567 the bankrupt French and the bankrupt Spanish commence with war.. and a little trade.. in Florida.

Colonist investment tip: This would have been a good time to consider avoiding the healthcare sector as tobacco is about to be prescribed.. as a cancer cure.

At the time.. money should have been invested in sweet potatoes and tobacco.. and maybe war commodities.. and if you have been paying attention you will begin to observe a pattern here:

* next big thing
* move it somewhere else
* observe how it is paid for and..
* commence with war (to galvanize the outside investors)

In 1574..

.. the idea of digging a canal through the Suez isthmus was put to the Council of Ten by the republic of Venice.

The project was abandoned as “being too expensive” (without a couple more.. “Wars of Canal constructio.. errr.. I mean “Wars of Religion”). So..

.. in 1575 Spain.. files for bankruptcy – again.

And wouldn’t you know it.. along comes the fifth, sixth, and seventh wars of religion.

back to goings-on in the New World..

Spain and France have got their eye on a fairly sizable canal project in the vicinity of what is later called Panama.

England has got its eye on a fairly sizable harbor project in the vicinity of what is later called.. Jamestown, which is about to become the newest district office of the Virginia Monopoly Of London.

Back then.. monopoly grants were called.. “Royal Charters.”

In a little while (1696).. Issac Newton and John Locke will be letting you know their definition of.. a “Royal Exchange”

Regarding the Virginia Company of London:
For those of you who are rowing.. on the slave side of the boat on these “perilous journeys”.. if you really wish to receive slave reparations.. start with the legal department of the..
.. Virginia Company of London

.. or try Portugal

after all..

they started it.

Well back to history and investing.. Spain has big dreams.

And, if you can dream it.. you can do it.

But, because of Cortiz.. Spain has a small budget.

And.. Europe.. has no budget.

Spain came to the sad realization that Spain cannot afford.. anything.. so Spain.. replaces all 30 members of its General Accounting Office.

Now I hate to sound like a broken record here but - guess what happens in the year 1607?

You guessed it..

Spain files for bankruptcy.. again.

If you have been paying attention.. you are not only a colonist, but you are also.. a financial history expert..

at least up until 1607.

Oh, and there was that little coin-clipping thing back in 1278.

In 1559 Paul the IV.. came out with his recent entries to his forbidden books programme.

Such titles included:

* “The History Of The World Up To 1559..With The Money Part Put Back In”
* “Globalization Revisited; The New.. New.. Reality”
* “Competing With Slave Wages For Dummies”
* “A Complete Guide To Offshore Tax Havens”
* “Rome Didn’t Fall; Rome was Outsourced”
* “Jobs Europeans Haven’t Wanted to do.. Throughout History” (digging canals in the “new worlds” all over the world.. was one of those menial jobs European workers.. didn’t want.)

One other thing..

Approximately 801 years before 1607 (around the time of Leif’s journeys) the construction of the Amsterdam harbor was under way.

Investor tip: The reason there have been so many wars throughout history is because there have been a hell of a lot of canals and roads to be built.

A few decades prior to 1605 canal lock technology “fled religious persecution” (emigrated) from China.. to Holland.

Then.. the Dutch began to build their canals with “single-locks.”

This single-lock invention lifted trade to new heights and it was soon invented.. over and over again.. in developing nations.. all over the God’s flat-earth.

(I appologise God, it was/is not my intent to take your name in vain)

Actually, the Crusades were organized to officially “bridge” the world’s “canal-lock divide.”

Take note: As a colonist, you may not be aware, but the word “colonize” is a.. biblical metaphor for..

“dig another harbor”

Waterway modernization is pretty important if one is interested in global trade but supposedly.. Amsterdam Harbor was only needed just in case any Viking [cargo] ships were accidentally “blown off course.”

Outsourcing do’s and don’ts:
The place you plan to outsource your homeland jobs too, will require an infrastructure.. equal to.. or better than your own.

This will include aqueducts and roads.. and they cost.. mucho coinage.. and.. it tends to irritate the homeland labor force.
Colonist tip:

Watch out when you hear the words:

“Largest Single Foreign Investment”

These words are usually preceded with the words:

“Closed Door Task Force”

And these words are usually followed with the words:

“Greatest Accounting Fraud Ever”

.. which is always followed with the words:

“Because Its War!”

You colonists have got a lot of war coming - so if you aren’t into war that much - you might want to pay attention to the reason war is.. waged.

for anyone with networking/storage background and looking around for a job, there are around 35 open reqs in netzilla india right now, with a few more expected shortly - all in one particular BU (the one a certain financial guru loves to hate :twisted: ). these are real reqs not "placeholder".

there are good people (sorree cant say number) who were internally displaced in india (as part of 2q restucturing) and they would certainly fight for these posts. but external candidates are also at no disadvantage...hiring mgrs will look for the best person internal or external.

thought I would put in this public service pamphlet given the bad times we all are having.

What will be the impact of the below on the IT/BPO industry?

http://www.rediff.com/money/2009/feb/25 ... -obama.htm

I am not so familiar with the business model and tax structure used by outsourcing companies, so would appreciate if some guru would elaborate. From what I gather this should impact companies with captive offshore units and not those that have contracts with US/Indian outsourcers, right? Also wouldn't it be shooting themselves in themselves in the foot if companies like Coca Cola, GE etc that have most of their consumers abroad lose a larger proportion of the profits they make for foreign operations?

Good luck to Netzilla. A brave attempt, makes me suspect that someone as canny as Netzilla is playing strategy games here and trying to play for "positions" , to gain "bargaining chips" like the Pakis try creating "diversions" when playing with no chips or are basically Nood.

If this is a genuine real attempt. Why, it is heroic, very similar to the "Charge of the Light Brigade" , horsemen, wielding sabres, charging up against massed Russian artillery in the Crimea (I actually visited the "Florence Nightingale" hospital/museum in Istanbul , where the casualties from the Crimean campaign were treated). Real guts and glory, getting a place in the history books and guaranteed a place in history and all that, but in the end Quixotic and futile.

Why ?. Coz, they are trying for growth outside their protected franchise with entry barriers, in a field which is filled with shark like super predators guarding their territory. Look at the record of Chipzilla , when it tried moving to wireless or into a new archtiecure 64 bit chip or desktopsoftwarezilla when it tried doing things like "internet" (access, content against AOL, Yahoo, Google etc) and also "gaming" (against the Sonys and Ninetendos) and also Mobile (against Symbion, Nokia etc). In every case, Chipzilla and Desktopzill had their sorry a*sses handed back to them.

History is replete with instances of that happening. Growth outside franchises is usually value destroying. Everyone knows that. Netzilla sure knows that too. Maybe they are forced to do what they are planning to do. But I am willing to wager it will all end very predictably in another 5 years after spending a couple of billions of dollars, just like Chipzilla and Desktopzilla's stories.

actually its jnpr who seems to have a vision for datacenter thats a bit different.
a "flat" hierarchy scaling to thousands of nodes .... yechpee and eyebeeyem have nowhere near the muscle jnpr can put into its TX matrix and future solutions.

its always the tigersharks one needs to be careful with, not some sluggish prehistoric "swamp creature" weighing 1000 tons that can barely beat back attacks on their flanks from nimble "mammals"

Well, the sharks have been around forever. And if JNPR has anything close to actually working, it will make a very tasty morsel indeed for Instant Banana Mousse, which wont even need to burp after digesting JNPR.

WWND ? (what will Netzilla do)?

sorree, "swamp things" dont grow by inorganic acquisitions.

they'd have no clue how to run a smaller co like jnpr and most of the best people(who are the real assets) would go join the next new thing. why do you think
they havent tried so far? valuations are at historic lows. people like k-sahib didnt
seem like the type to wear "blue suits" and talk shop with havaad mba types. :rotfl:

SF dont like being part of a garrison defending the city do they?

"swamp things" are prehistoric beasts that are not evolving fast enough to survive changes in climatic conditions. they are saddled with 300k people including vast hordes of camp followers and logistical train in India.

I have never figured out what they really want to be - grow into even bigger chulthu type sea beasts or trim down to welterweight and stop trying to awe people with the sheer number of 'troops'

meantime some "national champion" cash rich chipanda co is probably taking
apart yechpee, xerox, canon, toshiba printers part by part and preparing to release the new plague - "huawei-mki printer" :roll:

yeachpee has had a platinum grade teleconf system for a while now...yet I hear
its the evil one who has setup such rooms for rent in places like Taj for $300-900 and its selling well, in these days of zero travel allowance.

No.. No. The record of Hickory Pork and Instant Banana Mousse in acquisitions has been good, very good in fact and they have done literally hundreds of acquisitions and integrations. They are past masters in that sort of thing. Netzilla during the dot com boom too used to swallow up companies by the shovels and all by paying Wampum of course. Netzilla itself is a pretty decent success story of growing up acquisitions. Hickory Pork and Instant Banana Mousee too have a pretty impressive record there going back to decades.

Running it is not the issue. Hickory Pork and Instant Banana Mousse have the capability to run it and run it extremely well. The issue is , the as is business of JNPR is not worth the buy and the "historic" lows are actually not history. That stock aint going anywhere and they know it too. Unless they come up with some credible earth shattering stuff, they are a boxed into a niche and contained by Netzilla with Chicom Pandas threatening to clamber in company. Not worth it right now. Thats why.

people like k-sahib didnt
seem like the type to wear "blue suits" and talk shop with havaad mba types.
Did I hear the RWR go woot woot to report an A2A bird launch ? :(( :(( .. (it is Haahvud btw)
SF dont like being part of a garrison defending the city do they?
Right now, SF types will work in Roman slave galleys , doing time at the oars if it will get them by. But anyway, the serial startup types would have already left JNPR long long ago. If anyone is still hanging around there, it must be largely Mr Pradeep Sindhu. Everyone else would have become "VIP" (vested in peace) and taken their cash and left.
meantime some "national champion" cash rich chipanda co is probably taking
apart yechpee, xerox, canon, toshiba printers part by part and preparing to release the new plague - "huawei-mki printer" :roll:
Ah.. That is the problem when you cant see a competitor. You start imagining phantom competitors like Chipanda Copy cat Huawei Mki types. That just shows that you are not in the innovating mode anymore, but stagnating , coz you know your new product pipeline is Nood / near nood. All the while the Hickory Pork in plain sight lets fly a quick punch that sinks elbows deep into Netzilla's ample belly. :rotfl: .

The long term competitor is probably the geeky nerd who probably quit SUNW/HWP/IBM/CSCO/JNPR/Nortel/ other networking/hardware/software companies racking his brains or smoking something strong , waiting for a stroke of genius to crash the price/performance curve in networking (which is still very expensive I feel.. jmt), or a pimply faced Pee Yecch Dee kid thinking about it.

Saar, Hickory Pork, comes and eats up the meat and potatoes and you are saying Netzilla is the one who is still eating the cranberry sauce , coleslaw and collard greens?
