The moron still thinks that the current mess is due to the economic policies. Once the TSP fine-tunes the economic policies, the problem can be solved in a jiffy, simple.
They will never understand that its because of the skewed priorities of the state and the peoples apparatus, where economic well-being is not even a bullet-point on the list. Their energies and resources are channelized somewhere else - its all too well known.
But not to the best analysts from TSP, whether its Yale or Oxford or .. whatever.

Is the US finally going to say it!!!
If they finally say it, all hell will break loose, this is the last gambit that the US has in the war on terror. There will be immense domestic pressure to take pakistan out.

So I guess the real truth will get pushed under the carpet for a little while more.

Musharraf was the COAS and dictator when someone gave money to Omar sheikh to wire it to Mohammad Atta. Given that Omar sheikh was an asset of the ISI, we know where we are headed.
Also there is the story of the two Pakistan Fizaiya officers who were deputed to be room mates of Mohd Atta.

But Musharraf has been touring the US and lives in London. Looks like the major powers are OK with him now.

No Gagan. The part of significance in her testimony is that "US has to create space for TSP to act on its own terrorists". And that means US has to make Afghan and India roll back and give these monsters a victory. The whole US charade of questioning Karzai on corruption and electoral fraud was to make him break with Fahim and Dostum who are the power behind kabul. This is only to assuage the TSPA who have takleef. No one else has the takleef.

No there wont be any pressure in US to address TSP as the public doesn't understand the diplomatic code/argot these experts speak. The codewords used are inflammatory and resonate with US public-corruption, election fraud etc. The whole CNN et al showing Kashmir as disputed on maps is for American public to be fooled and go along with the great games that small people play.

BTW hearings are to air experts opinion to support already decided policy. Nothing new or truthful ever comes out of these hearings.

The creating space for pakistan to act could also involve giving the pakistani incentives to act. Apart from the monetary incentive they obviously receive, the terror jihad turning into pakistani cities is a strong motivation for the pakistani Junta and public.
Then pakistan can claim YYY did it and go after the talibs - or so everyone thinks.

But at the end of the day no one talks of the fact that pakistan is illeterate, jihad loving, madarsa educated and poor. They are not even willing to change thier school education text books. Most of their intelligent terrorists are products of their public schools, the cannon fodder terrorists who form the bulk come from the madarsas.

Choice 'Nuggets' from this week's TFT:
Nawaz funding Lal Masjid

Reported in Jinnah Pervez Musharraf said that Nawaz Sharif was funding the reconstruction of Lal Masjid in Islamabad including the illegally occupied properties. He said that mosques in Islamabad are highly organised with sector-wise policing, which was lava that will one day explode in the capital.

Tiger eats boneless chicken

According to Jang the tiger imported by the son of chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif is now living in a monkey’s cage in Murree Park after being refused by the NWFP government. Salman Shehbaz’s tiger eats boneless chicken and drinks mineral water.

Mossad and air chief killed Zia

Quoted in Nawa-e-Waqt ex-ISI officer Major (Retd) Amir stated that the Bahawalpur air crash which killed General Zia in 1988 was planned by Mossad and carried out by Pakistan’s air chief Zulfiqar. Mossad agent Akram Awan had disclosed this information to him and told him that Brigadier (Retd) Sadiq Awan was also involved in the plot. Major Amir said Bhutto was his ideal.

Chunian Christians embrace Islam

After a series of attacks in various small towns, nine Christians of a family in Chunian embraced Islam because of its higher values and message of peace, reported Nawa-e-Waqt. Despite the bad name given it by fanatics, Islam had great attraction for the Christians of Chunian especially after the attacks. They have started fasting after embracing Islam and no longer fear blasphemy law.

Ailing intellectuals in our midst :(

Lyrical columnist Irfan Siddiqi wrote in Jang that sick societies have intellectuals and pen-wielders and sermonisers stricken with the ailment of not describing light as the opening up of the vistas of life; instead they arrange the dark tresses of a night of misfortunes. This fills the heart of the nation with hopelessness and despair. They forget that no evil is without some good and no good can be perfectly achieved.

‘Wukla’ persons strike again!

According to Khabrain Faisalabad sessions court saw a number of lawyers attack the police when it came forward to arrest a person wanted in a case. The wukla persons attacked the police and tore up their uniform. They caught one Saifur Rehman who was accompanying the police and made a murgha out of him before beating him with shoes.

Zardari and Hashwani

Columnist Hamid Mir wrote in Jang that once during a function he asked President Zardari if Sadruddin Hashwani was truthful in saying that Zardari wanted to grab his Hotel Marriott in Islamabad. Zardari immediately brought Hashwani on the phone line and made Mir listen to Hashwani who swore that Zardari had made no such move. On this, Mir asked Hashwani why he had run off to Dubai and had to stage the wedding of his daughter outside Pakistan. On this the line was cut.

Minister calls opponent a ‘tawaef’

Writing in Jang Hamid Mir reported that a PPP lady minister (Firdaus Ashiq Awan) while involved in an exchange of hot words with a lady member of PMLQ (Kashmala Tariq) called her tawaef (prostitute). The government was approached with the sifarish to make Kashmala Tariq trade minister. When the PMLQ boss Ch Shujaat heard this he dismissed the lady from his party.

Eid and Qadianis

Quoted in Jinnah ANP leader of the NWFP Ghulam Ahmad Bilour betrayed his party’s narrow-mindedness when he said that those who did observe Eid together with the NWFP were following the Qadianis. He implied that Qadianis did not follow the Islamic way of observing Eid. He said the right way was to observe Eid with Saudi Arabia. Under law Qadianis cannot observe any Islamic rituals. He later apologised for saying this.

Mufti Munib can get property!

Reported in Jang a group of local leaders in Miranshah in North Waziristan tribal agency stated that chairman of the moon-sighting committee Mufti Munibur Rehman should come to Miranshah every month and see the moon on the first. They said that Mufti Munib will be given the property of all the leaders if he cannot see the moon of the first of the month.

Declared kali and sold!

Reported in Jang, in Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab, a woman Zeb Khatoon was declared kali (immoral) by her husband and sold for Rs 3.7 lakh to one Ali Murad. This was done in the tribal area of Dera Ghazi Khan called Tumman Leghari. After being sold as kali she ran away from her buyer but was caught and bound hand and foot. She had run away once before to save her life.

Sex before cricket?

According to Jinnah coach of the Indian team at Champions Trophy in South Africa, Gerry Kirsten, told Indian cricketers that any lessening in sexual activity will affect the performance of the players in the field. He advised the players to perform well in bed in order to perform well in the field. According to his theory not having sex leads to lacklustre results in the matches.

Shabab-e-Milli stops play

Reported in Express a Sialkot theatre was all set to stage a play when local religious organisation of Jamaat Islami called Shabab-e-Milli attacked the hall and stopped the show. A number of MPAs of Punjab were invited to the opening but when a lady actress entered the stage the youths attacked it and closed everything down.

From 'Such Gup' section of this week's TFT:
Fiddling while Rome burns

In a modern remake of fiddling while Rome burns, the head honcho of one of the nation’s banks sat at the head of table at his swank Karachi club, partaking of lunch and sherbet while the dead and wounded were being carried away from the suicide bombing at one of his branches. The gent was surrounded by friends, said our mole, and the lavish lunch was at the expense of the bombed out bank. The least the banker could have done, in deference to the 30 dead and scores wounded, was to observe a decent interval before embarking on business as usual.

With “Hellry”

In a potentially embarrassing slip-up, the government assigned an inappropriate escort to accompany US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on her sightseeing trip around Lahore. The gent, for all his erudition, is said to have once been in close contact with Mullah Omar and is known to have declared that he was proud of having prayed in the “imamat” (leadership) of the great Mullah. It’s a good thing “Hellry” (as she is universally known in Pakistan) had no idea.

Friends, please devote less time to the "Porkemons" and more to the Chinese. Let the Porkemons spend the next decade in sorting out their internal strife and finances. We have bigger threats that need attention and analysis. 72 pages to Porkemonisms is far too much. we need to pay more attention to the dragon.

Phraam thij bheek's Jumma Times:
Ittefaq Nama

Poor Asif. He sent me massage that look here. See what MQM and Altaf Hussain have done to me. They have stabbed me in the back. Not at all, I said. They have stabbed you in the front. Asif is surrounded by enemies and enemas. He has played lying, cheating, clumsy game. He thought he could smartout everyone. He is not a smartie. Faujis, they are smarties. Jugdes, they are smarties. Media, they are smarties. Apposition, we are smarties. But one thing even I am knowing, Asif has been implied on the horns of a dilemma. His dalai lama was that if he did muk mukaa with me on Charter of Demo Cracy, made constitutional amendment to alloy me to be PM for thud time, and gave away presidential powers, then he would become dead duck. I know it is a big dalai lama. But look here, I told him when we fust hugged and made up after the elections – that the enema of my enema is my friend. What Faujis will not alloy you to have, give to me. I will see them. But what Asif anded up doing is this – neither I will play, nor I will lat you play. Sir jiiii, I told him, they don’t like your hello-hi with Amercans. They don’t like your hello-hi with Indians. They want a president like Musharraf, who said one thing and did another. Who took the dallars from the Amercans and never gave accounts. Who was hands on against some jihadis but hands off against other jihadis. Then Asif said but in this uncertinity, there can be no dev lopment. Oye leave it ji, I said, who cares about eco nomy? Who cares about dev lopment?

I gave him some frank adwise. I told him tell Faujis that Presidents are not like calendars that you can change them every month. Also tell them that three things are not worth running after. One is bus, the other is woman and thud is pliant politician. Because there will always be another one shortly. Ok, ok, he said. I will take your adwise but fust take this beautiful new Ferrari and test drive it to Lahore on the Motorway. Don’t take, my advisors said, he is trying to divert your attention. Oye, what goes of my father, I asked, hain ji? On the way, problem was. I ranged Asif and said “there is something wrong with your Ferrari, Asif”. “Oh really?” he said, “what’s the matter?” “I think so there is water in the carburetor” I said. “Don’t worry” Asif said, “I will immediately send the Minister for Science and Technology. He will remove the water from the carburetor. Where are you?” “Actually, I am in the Chenab in the Ferrari” I said.

Paki travellers account, from this week's TFT:
Dilli door ast

Delhi and Lahore are so near yet so far, says Taimur Khilji

Iam greeted with a smile at Delhi airport. Although a stranger to Delhi, I am immediately disarmed by the patter of monsoon rain, the honking of horns on busy roads, the general orderliness of disorder. Delhi is a city on the go, with its multiple construction projects including a new airport, a subway system and extensive road works. My driver, Vijay - who seems to assume I’m Indian, though not a Delhite - mentions that the new airport is being built in anticipation of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Like the Seoul and the Beijing Olympics for Korea and China, this is India’s coming out.

I pick up the local tabloid placed neatly on the backside of the driver’s seat. The face of Sharrukh Khan covers the entire front page; he had been detained a few hours for questioning at New York’s JFK airport (a rather unpleasant ordeal which I have experienced myself). I try to broach the topic with Vijay , but after a couple of disinterested remarks he changes the topic to cricket. I imagine that queuing for hours is part of everyday life, and nothing to fuss about. My conversations with people over the course of my stay, however, reveal that society is divided on the SRK issue. Respect and honour are integral to the South Asian psyche, and detaining a national icon was widely viewed as a sign of disrespect. On the other hand, many are fed up with the VIP culture and prefer that everyone be treated with equal respect (or disrespect, as the case may be).

Delhi reminds me of Lahore in many ways: the tree lined green patches dividing opposing lanes, the pace of traffic, the cultural vibrancy, the dreamy police officers, the rickshaws , the gait of aimless pedestrians. Like Lahore, Delhi provides space for the intellectually curious with ample bookshops, cafes, and universities. I adjust seamlessly, conversing in the same accent as the locals.

While I didn’t get to see as much of the city as I would have liked to, I was able to talk to people. Obviously, a Pakistani is treated with some degree of curiosity, not that I didn’t appreciate the attention I received when I mentioned where Iwas from. A conversation with a rickshaw wallah was particularly memorable; he was a Sikh who, along with his parents, migrated from Lahore when he was ten. With a deep sense of belonging, he recalled his early childhood, the neighbourhood streets where he once played and the sound of Azan from the nearby mosque. These were impressions he had held on to for all these years and were now being shared with a Pakistani.

I know that the vivid memories of partition are fading with time. My generation has access to them only through parents, grandparents, great-uncles and aunts. The social and political postures my generation adopts are not born out of experience, but rather out of the burden the previous generations continue to shoulder and pass on. Jaswant Singh’s controversial book, Jinnah: India-Partition-Independence was a reminder of the deep emotions which the issue of partition can evoke. Reactions on both sides of the border came largely from those who lived through it. It is not for me to question, for I did not experience the moment that divided; I can only observe the reaction, which lays itself out there in limbo, unresolved.

As I am driven around in an ambassador taxicab, a car modeled on the 1956 Morris Oxford III, I learn that the car has been produced in India since 1958. An emblem of the beginnings of India’s industrial era, post independence – a moment characterized by partial liberation – the charming car is British in essence and design but adopted, localized, and celebrated as embodying the spirit of Indian prowess. I admire the comfortable seats, the vintage gearbox and speedometer. It points to something enduring. However, the view outside belies this permanence; heavy and widespread construction confirms the presence of post-industrial growth. There is a noticeable tension between holding on to cultural tradition and accepting the changes brought on by modernity.

The hotel I am staying in plays host to a wedding nearly every evening. Women adorn themselves in colorful saris and gold jewelry, while the men and boys are in less traditional gear with most of them opting to wear suits and coats. I do spot some men sporting Dhotis , Kurtas , and Sherwanis . It is hard to miss the visible display of cell phones. There is a curiosity about technology; I see some older industrialist uncles asking their nephews and nieces how to use the functions on their phone sets. The young are happy to oblige. Then there is a generation of young professionals, probably between 30 and 40 years of age who bring home salaries inconceivable to the older generation, I am told. They are brimming with confidence, dressed in well fitted suits, and preferentially converse in English about the world of finance.

I spend my last evening having chai with an elderly gentleman. Once we start conversing in Urdu (Hindi for him), barriers dissolve and the conversation turns to Pakistan-India relations. In his view, the shared cultural history and identity should preclude hostility, and I agree in principle, but I counter that it was primarily due to the countries’ shared history that differences arose. I sense his longing for the two countries to settle their difference, a practical goal juxtaposed with nostalgia. He encourages me to write, remarking, ‘the youth have a different point of view, one which is less tainted by the past.’ I take note, nodding. The concerns of the two neighbours seem to be held in permanent abeyance. I think to myself that these are matters meriting discussion and vigorous debate, but certainly not worthy of war.

As I am driven back to the airport, I reflect that the people of the two countries should be given more such opportunities to meet, as the common heirs of a shared history. Due to the legal constraints set up by both sides, however, my experience as a Pakistani in India is only too rare. I look forward with hope to the day when citizens of both India and Pakistan can meet as equals on the very land we once shared, instead of being limited to chance encounters outside our borders. Whether as students in New York or as laborers in Dubai, they seem to get along just fine.

PPP-MQM talks in UAE deadlocked
Not that the above is important. But, it is interesting from the point that Pakistan's political parties have to conduct their talks in a 'neutral venue' abroad always, just like their cricket matches. Earlier, in 2007, Kiyani as the ISI chief and Tariq Aziz as close confidante of Musharraf used to fly day in and day out to Dubai, New York, London and Jeddah to have discussions with BB and Nawaz Sharif. If you look at any photo of a session in the Pakistani National Assembly, you see only suited-and-booted gentlemen . No national dress for them. The lady MNAs exhibit high fashion accessories etc. They all drive, at a minimum, a Prado or a Pajero. Pakistan should be one of the richest countries on earth, then.

Resolve J&K Row now to alleviate Pak crisis: Dumb US Congresswoman
An influential United States lawmaker, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee's Subcommittee on Intelligence and Terrorism Risk Assessment, has said that if the Obama Administration can help resolve the Kashmir imbroglio, it may help alleviate Pakistan's continuing security threat perception vis-à-vis India and turn Islamabad from this obsessive focus to confronting the existential terrorist threat from within.

She reiterated that "if we really want to help Pakistan  , maybe that's a thing we could do." "If we could do that, perhaps that would assist the Pakistanis in getting more comfortable focusing on real threats."
Look at the pernicious idea of this woman. She wants to protect the US at the cost of India and for that she is suggesting that Indian land must be gifted to Pakistan to appease it. Chamberlains keep sprouting all the time.

Christine Fair at least understood that it is not irredentism that is at the root of the Pakistanis, it is simply the hatred for India and that is not going to go away.

It is increasingly becoming apparent that the US is bad news for India, as it always has been since 1947.

Nepal offers electricity to Pakistan

Today's edition of Pakistani business daily Business Recorder carries this (somewhat) disturbing report with possible security implications for India.

Given that Nepal has serious shortage of electricity I am not sure how it could spare any power for Pakistan now. The report does state that (1) Nepal has huge potential to generate hydroelectricity and (2) it lacks the expertise and investment to establish power generation plants.

Is it possible that this is being talked about (with Nepal's connivance) just to embarass India given that the transmission has to be via India and it is highly unlikely that India will agree to any such arrangement.

What bothers me is that any surplus electricity Nepal will ever have could easily be supplied to our Eastern and Northern states. Why offer it to Pakistan?
Nepal offers electricity to Pakistan
RECORDER REPORT
ISLAMABAD (November 07 2009): Nepal has offered to export power through India to Pakistan to overcome the recent energy crisis in the country. The Nepalese delegation offered power export during the 8-nation South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) Energy conference at Islamabad, which began on November 3, 2009.

So that Indians will think like you and offer a better price than beggaristan. Besides - how will the electricity be supplied to Pakistan - shipping containers?

Even Raiwind is not spared by Better Believers
Intelligence reports have revealed threats of terrorist attacks on the annual Raiwind Tableegh Ijtema and the rest of Punjab. Upon receiving the warning, the Interior Ministry has directed the Punjab inspector general to enforce strict security measures for ensuring peace across the province.

The ministry directed Punjab police to enforce strict security measures around the congregation. Separately, the Lahore CCPO has ordered additional police deployment at all exit points. Walk-through metal detectors have been installed at all exit points, which are manned by police commandoes. All citizens have also been asked to keep their national identity cards with them while travelling in the city. Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation (FIA) Head Quarters and all Zonal Offices will remain closed today (Saturday) due to a “core mission” for FIA officials. {What could that be ? FIA has been facing a lot of problems recently what with repeated attacks on it by the Better Believers}

The easiest way to educate the congress woman is to tell her that all ilegal immigration from Mexico can be solved by giving back California, Texas, New Mexico and Nevada to Mexico.

She will quickly grasp the problems in such solutions inspite of her low IQ.

The report clearly states 'through India'. However, what is interesting is also the following from the same link
The technical team from Pakistan also pointed out that India was the only country that has borders with South Asian countries, but due to political differences India was importing energy only from Bhutan. Sources said that the delegates observed that energy and economic issues should not be part of the politics in South Asia, as the region needs energy resources for economic growth and social development.
The meeting took place in Islamabad. This is as usual an attempt by Pakistan to depict India as the villain. Pakistan does not prefer to import diesel from India, an option that would save it a lot of money in a country that is rapidly going down under and is looking to alms from FoDP which is also not forthcoming. How will that country agree to having Nepal export electricity through India even if India agrees ?

Zardari buys 300 acres in Islamabad in a 'neat and clean and professional business transaction'
Faisal Sakhi Butt, who had been named as a key player in the Zardari-Bilawal 300-acre land purchase deal, on Friday broke his silence and issued a clarification calling the purchase of the land by the president’s company {Zardari is not only the President of Pakistan but also President of a company that buys land, very neat indeed} as a “neat and clean and professional business transaction.”
At last, Faisal Sakhi Butt has emerged from his hideout to claim that there existed a deal with Park Lane Estates (Pvt) Ltd, which was owned by President Asif Zardari and Bilawal Ali Zardari. . . . The fact that the land was sold at the old price has also been implicitly admitted by Butt. . . CDA was taking a major highway very close to the land, which will multiply its market price by billions.

Roughly 99% of Breorder reporting is usually garbage, the rest 1% is usually also garbage. Viewed from this perspective the above report will start to make sense.

Jane Harman is NOT influential..not anymore..She was bugged by the FBI talking to someone about intervening in the AIPAC spy thing. She lost the chairmanship of the Intelligence committee.

Even Obama went down that path before the elections. And yet, Holbrooke was appointed for the FakAp in Af-Pak.

9/11 Mastermind Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, a Pakistani (he was born in Kuwait of Pakistani parents and Kuwait does not confer citizenship to those born of foreign parents), was arrested from the house of a PA officer in Rawalpindi. That's where he was hiding or being hidden.
If Americans look hard in Rawalpindi/GHQ they can find the rest of the gang there too.

Lesson in Madrassa maths

The power of three (3)
3x2=6

Th-e-orum "Good Taliban kill twice as many Bad Taliban in revenge"

Peroof
Taliban militants killed three soldiers in an assault on a check post in northwest Pakistan
Security forces based in a nearby fort responded by killing at least six attackers, police and military officials said.
Th-e-orum no 2
3x5 = 15
Fifteen militants were killed in fresh clashes in South Waziristan’s Jandola area during an overnight operation
Th-e-orum no 3
3x8 =24
Troops enter Baitullah’s hometown, 24 militants dead

Th-e-orum no 4
3x1=3 yes!
Quetta explosion wounds three

Th-e-orum no 4
The rule of 3 applies to road traffic accidents too!
Six dead in Shikarpur road accident

Professor Uighuri bin Mathsjunkie from LMU added further controversy to these contro-e-versial theories by postulating that using multiples of three makes it easy for delegating Houris, after all 3x24=72

Many many moons ago, maulana (retrd.) Rye-e-Azam brobosed the equality petween the numper 3 and musharraf. He said, look yu kaffirs, the numper 3 denotes the musharraf. (I think he waaj referring to Al Keeda numper 3 pack then):
