In WA, old mining town elects a Muslim mayor‎

A Web site called http://www.anybodybutsaleem.com/ went up during the election campaign. It put emphasis on the fact that Saleem lists his name as Sheikh H. Saleem in business licenses and court documents. Sheikh means 'chief' in Arabic, and it is a common surname for males.

"Why would you not use your real name?" the site says. After the election, the home page read: "OMG! What have we done?"

X Posted. Pakistani origin Muslim cleric, Asif Farooqui, arrested in the UK.

While having yet another individual of Pakistani descent, even if a Muslim cleric, arrested for alleged terrorism, is pretty passe, there is something noteworthy in this case.

The point to particularly note is that the arrested Muslim cleric is identified as a Sufi of the Naqashbandia / Naqshbandi school going by the name of the mosque the muslim cleric preaches in.

How come Sufi Muslims are now allegedly involved in terrorism ?

If I recollect, Sufi Muslims have long been touted as the poster children for the slogan “Islam is the Religion of Peace” :
MP calls for calm after arrest of terror suspect

8:28am Wednesday 18th November 2009

A BOLTON MP last night called for calm in the town following the arrest of a 62-year-old man on suspicion of terror offences. ……………………….

Asif Farooqui, of Willows Lane, was one of five men taken into custody by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit. ………………………………

He is thought to be a Sunni Muslim of Pakistani origin ………………….
Dr Iddon, who is Mr Farooqui’s MP, said: …………………… “This gentleman is very well known. He comes from the Sufi tradition, a branch of Islam which is traditionally very peaceful. That is why the community is so surprised.” .......................

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, said Mr Farooqui believes that TV is sinful, that Muslims should wear traditional salwar kameez robes and that women should cover their faces with a veil.

He regularly leads prayers at the Khankah Naqashbandia mosque, in Manchester .................

Fighting terrorism is our own war: PM Gilani
Pakistan is fighting not American but its own war.
Defies logic. If it's their own paki war, why are they sending all the bloated invoices to us? What do they take us for, suckers? On second thought, yes, they do.

Kati and us are tracking Mujahids' calendar published by Islamabad, always one day ahead of kafirs :)

IED Mubarakis lose fervour in November ?
A look at major attacks in Pakistan since the beginning of October:
The intensity of November IEDological demonstrations is lower than October.
In October, one fifty and one century was scored.
In November, only tens and twenties though.
Except Dec'07 dispatch of Benazir, Decembers are also quieter, with not much action.
November and December are not good Pakistani months ?

Turns out that terrorist Daood Gilani aka David Coleman Headley’s father was a “prominent Pakistani diplomat”.

His Mother was a US citizen and one who ran a bar causing much takleef to Headley aka Daood Gilani.

That takleef however did not stop Headley aka Daood Gilani from smuggling heroin into the US. He was caught and sentenced to 15 months in prison.

This Headley aka Daood Gilani comes across as solidly RAPE what with prominent diplomat father and attendance of prominent cadet school at Hasan Abdal.

I wonder if the father is related to the current Prime Minister of Pakistan?

Boggles the mind that a convicted felon was given a multiple entry visa to visit India:

Ms. Headley grew up on her family's farm in Maryland and in Lower Merion and graduated from Lower Merion High School. While attending the University of Maryland, she met a Pakistani diplomat, Saleem Gilani. They married, and she returned with him to Pakistan.

Guys lets try and post all Daood Gilani related news in that specific thread and very rarely here.

Or we make sure we post it there, and if there is a direct mention of pakistan, post it here too.

This will help in referencing later on, with all info about these cretins over there.

Thanks in advance.

A fair amount of arms and ammo must be ending up at the bottom of the arabian sea.

At least a few of these innocuous fishing boats must carry terrorists trying to sneak into the rann.
When the coast guard intercepts them, they probably dump their ammo into the sea before they are boarded, and then play innocent like ordinary fishermen.

Folks,
Another example of religious tol in TSP

Do you think Pak selectors are mean to Danish Kaneria just because he is a Hindu?
I think Kaneria is the best spinner in Pakistan since Abdul Qadir, but he gets so little opportunities

Danish bowled 294 balls per match, which no other Pakistani bowler bowled. Inspite of such huge bowling, he took 4.31 wickets per match, which is again the highest achieved by a Pakistani bowler till date. He should have got 'A' contract but what he got was a 'C' contract. This is due to him being a Hindu.

In Pakistan, Hindus are either killed or converted. If they escape both, they will live in abject misery and poverty. At the time of Independence, Pakistan had a Hindu population of about 20-25 percent which is now reduced to 2 percent. Youhana converted himself to Islam but could not become the Captain.

Youhana aka Tableeghi Md Yusuf is the temporary captain now, he has seen the light and has escaped jahiliyat, he also saw light alternating between IPL and ICL, may he see more light and score 72 victories for his team
Kaneria plays county cricket for Essex and probably qualifies for a red-passport, once that happens he will probably extircate his family from the land of the pure and become a suited-booted Eeenglishmaan.(that is if all the time he spent in the land of pure hasnt eaten into his brain)
Poor chap, in another 15 to 20 years, he will be looking for another passport

How pathetic are these people

http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/report_wi ... aincy_2538
According to another Pakistan columnist, Imran had stated that Yousuf did not have the rightcharacter to lead Pakistan.
Hinting at this, columnist Kamran Abbasi wrote in Wisden Asia Cricket (October 2004):'When Youhana has substituted for Inzamam, his captaincy has been imaginative and astute, but highly placed insiders claim that Youhana is too self-serving to win the players' confidence. His religion too makes the calculus more complex, when it should not even be a factor.'

The same columnist while discussing future Pakistani captains had written, 'Yousuf Youhana is thought to be a schemer, not trusted by some of his team-mates, and others are shamefully reluctant to be led by a captain from a minority group.'

The name of that country is Pakistan or more specifically Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Pakistan itself means Pak (Pure) + stan(Land)

The whole damn society is radicalized, intolerant. Those who appear to be liberal are only so on the surface, a very thin veneer covers the radical within, which reveals its grotesque face as soon as opportunity presents itself.

I'll bet even their pets and other animals for eg goats, are radicalized and in their baa baa language abuse the goats owned by non muslims for being heretics.

Religion is the raisin d'etre for their existence.

Pakis were radicalized even in pre-Zia days. In 1976 diplomatic relations were reestablished after being cutoff since the 1965 war. In 1978 India played three Tests in TSP. The first at Faisalabad was a draw but the Pakistanis won the second one at Lahore. Doordarshan did not have its own telecast but was telecasting the PTV telecast. After the victory in the second test, its captain Mushtaq Mohammed said, "I thank all the Muslims of the world who supported us and gave us their blessings" (translated from his Urdu speech).

Around the late 70s, I was going through TOI Delhi edition's classified ads and there was an ad from a major multinational corporation for a position in Karachi. It said and I kid you not, "Muslim or Catholic candidates will be preferred".

One very strategic thing that the elite of TSP have done is marrying/having relationships with the elite in the UK. I remember a person who was in the house of commons once saying that the "lips are sealed". Especially in house of lords, people daughters, neices etc are either involved or married to Paki elite.
Jemima Goldsmith is just the tip of the iceberg.

Article from October 16th Issue of DNW
Terrorists Close in on Nukes
Pakistan's Nuclear Arsenal in Jeopardy, US Special Forces on Standby

See attached map

Less than six months ago, DEBKA-Net-Weekly military sources revealed in its 396 issue of May 15 that terrorists had come within reach of Pakistan's nuclear weapons. They confirmed the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh assertion in a conversation at the time with President Barack Obama:

"The (Pakistani) nuclear weapons and the missiles are already partly in the hands of the Muslim extremists… There is no longer any way to prevent them from taking control.”

He referred to two locations as keys to Pakistan's nuclear and missile arsenals: Kohat and the Wah Cantonment Pakistani Ordnance Complex in the city of Kamra - both in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP).

(See attached map - Image)

Dominated by mountains and hills, Kohat is the capital of the district of that name at the northern tip of Waziristan. It has an important air base, airport and is connected to Peshawar, seat of the Northern Air Command, 60 kilometers to the north, by a Japanese-built 2-kilometer tunnel link.

Kamra is roughly 180 kilometers northeast of the Kohat air base. It is home to the Pakistani Wah Cantonment Ordnance Complex, which consists of three armament facilities in Wah (Pakistan Ordnance Factories - POF), Kamra (Air Weapon Complex - AWC), and Taxilia (Heavy Industries Taxila -HIT).

This cluster holds most of the storage and assembly facilities serving Pakistan's nuclear weapons and components, especially those at the "screwdriver level." The modification of aircraft and missiles for nuclear attacks also takes place there.

The Air Weapon Complex at Kamra houses air-to-surface missiles and is probably the site of the development and storage of nuclear warheads.

US special forces on standby to secure Pakistan's nukes

Taliban has seized control of key sections of Kohat town and the roads connecting it to Kamra 180 kilometers away. Our military sources stress that if Kohat falls completely to the Taliban, Islamabad and the Pakistani high command will be cut off from Kamra and its nuclear depots.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly counter-terrorism sources report that on Saturday, October 10, when the Taliban attacked the Pakistani military central command compound in Islamabad, it concurrently seized parts of the military road to Peshawar and the tunnel-link, which has created a short cut between Peshawar and Kohat. Insurgent forces based in the Darra Adam Kheil tribal belt carried out the attack.

Although no-one in Washington or Islamabad will admit it, after the Saturday attacks, the White House had the Pentagon order US special operations forces units trained to take control of Pakistan's nuclear facilities to stand by for further directives at their bases in Afghanistan.

The order was repeated Thursday, Oct. 15, after another round of Taliban attacks in Pakistan.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly's military sources describe these units as trained specifically to cross into Pakistan at short notice, seize control of its nuclear sites, empty out the stores and remove their contents to a safe hiding place in the west.

At that moment too, Pakistani Chief of Staff Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani placed the special detail responsible for securing the nuclear arsenal on the ready, out of two considerations:

1. Because the 10 uniform-clad Pakistani fighters who invaded the military headquarters in Islamabad on Oct. 10, may have been heading for the special command responsible for the security of the nuclear arsenal; or.

2. Because officers from this command may have been among the 42 hostages Taliban seized in that attack and held for 22 hours. At least 12 of the hostages were killed or died in the rescue raid. Islamabad has not so far identified any of them.

Taliban again hammers Kohat road link to nuclear sites

A U.S official in Washington, speaking anonymously a few hours after the dual-track terror attack began, said strong safeguards are in place and there is no reason to believe the Pakistani nuclear arsenal is in imminent jeopardy of seizure by militants. There is a major difference, he said, between attacking a nuclear site and actually seizing and using the nuclear material stored inside.

But our sources note that this official, like other American and Pakistani spokesman, made no mention of the sync between the military headquarters attack and two other strikes, one near the Sargodha air base, where nuclear missiles are believed stored, and the Wah cantonment, where nuclear-capable missiles are believed assembled.

Neither had the Pakistanis by Oct. 15 yet updated the security situation in these highly-sensitive North Western Frontier locations or revealed whether or not the Taliban assault had been repelled.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly's military analysts note that on Thursday, the Taliban used the same tactic as it employed five days earlier: It mounted a major attack in a big city - Lahore, this time - targeting the Federal Investigation Agency, which investigates terrorist attacks, and two police training academies, one for elite counter-terror forces. This strike was likewise synchronized with a second covert operation which brought the insurgents and terrorist forces ever closer to Pakistan's nuclear stores.

Outside Lahore, they blew up a police station in a suburb of Kohat, killing at least 10 people and injuring 22. Many officers were buried under the rubble. But at the same time the Taliban gunmen built on their progress of Oct. 10, when they began fighting for control of the main road hub connecting Kohat and Kamra to Islamabad so as to be able to cut these nuclear centers off from the government and high command. Five days later, they advanced another step and tightened their siege on the Sargodha air base south of Kohat, which holds some of Pakistan's nuclear warheads.

India, Israel, mistrust Pakistani security personnel loyalty

It is true that the component parts of Pakistan's nuclear devices are stored in secured underground chambers and warheads are electronically locked separately to ensure they cannot be detonated even if they fall in terrorist hands.

However, DEBKA-Net-Weekly sources note, as Indian prime minister Singh told President Obama back in May, the base assumption of Indian intelligence is that the loyalties of the Pakistani officers and soldiers guarding the nuclear weapons may be up for grabs once Pakistan's nuclear treasures are in Taliban or al-Qaeda hands.

Quoting Indian intelligence reports, Singh said some Pakistani officers of the units guarding the Wah complex are in daily communication with Taliban chiefs in an effort to keep them at bay. He added: "We see the situation (of Pakistan's nuclear weapons) with the same clarity as Israel does." In other words, the Indian prime minister shares Israeli skepticism about the integrity of Pakistan's nuclear security.

Shortly after the Oct. 10 attack, Gerald Steinberg, a professor of conflict management at Bar Ilan University, Israel made this comment: “The Israeli view is that Pakistan's weapons are less secure today than they were five years ago, and it seems they're even less secure than under the Musharraf government."

He reported declining confidence in America's ability to control events and put plans into action for protecting Pakistan's nuclear stockpile.

If Kohat has nuclear weapons stored, then they must be assumed to have fallen to the AQAM or within their easy reach (and out of retrieval by PA) if not already fallen. Kohat and surrounding areas, for almost two years now, are not under the control of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Friendship Tunnel had remained closed for nearly two years now after comin under Taliban control. NATO trucks from the Karachi port do not take the Indus Highway through Kohat, a much shorter distance for this reason. Hakeemullah has been the ruler of Darra Adam Khel and Kohat.

Do others see a change in Daily Times or is it just me ?

Ejaz Haider recently quit (good riddance anyway), Khaled Ahmed's articles no longer appear and the tone and content of the Editorials have become shriller and distinctly unreasonable.

Zafar Hilaly's take on Indo-Pak Relations
Additionally, would the cerebral Dr. Singh allow himself to be outwitted by terrorists bent on triggering an Indo-Pak conflict if, or rather when, the next Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) terrorist attack is launched — notwithstanding that today Pakistan is now an even greater target of the LeT than India.
Interestingly, when India faced a similar threat on its north-eastern borders several decades ago, Ayub Khan offered the services of our army to defend India. Nehru’s reply, “Joint defence against who?” ensured that never again would such an offer be contemplated, let alone made.
This is the spin that Pakistan has been propagating for a long time. Ayub did offer in 1959 such a deal. It will be very clear if one reads J.N.Dixit's book, "India-Pakistan in War & Peace", one can clearly see what happened and why India rejected that offer. Later in 1962, when China attacked India, and the US administartion asked Ayub to assure India that it would not take advantage of the situation so that India can move its troops to the Tibet border, Ayub refused.

US drone strike kills eight in Pakistan: officials

(AFP) – 1 hour ago

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan — The strike took place in the district of Mir Ali, northeast of Miranshah, the main town of the restive North Waziristan tribal district, officials said.

"At least eight people were killed in the drone attack. A compound used by militants was targeted," a senior security official told AFP on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media.

Another security official described the target as a Taliban training centre in Palooseen village. There were foreigners among the dead, the official said, using a term employed widely in Pakistan to mean Al-Qaeda operatives. ...............

Another US drone attack killed six militants, including three foreigners, in North Waziristan overnight Wednesday to Thursday, Pakistani officials said.

A foreign "terrorist" named Salah al-Somali was the target, but there was no confirmation on whether he died or not, Pakistani military officials said. ......................

Since August 2008, at least 65 such strikes have killed around 625 people ......................

Mullah Mohammed Omar, the one-eyed leader of the Afghan Taliban, has fled a Pakistani city on the border with Afghanistan and found refuge from potential U.S. attacks in the teeming Pakistani port city of Karachi with the assistance of Pakistan's intelligence service, three current and former U.S. intelligence officials said. ...................

Two senior U.S. intelligence officials and one former senior CIA officer told The Washington Times that Mullah Omar traveled to Karachi last month after the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He inaugurated a new senior leadership council in Karachi, a city that so far has escaped U.S. and Pakistani counterterrorism campaigns, the officials said.

The officials, two of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the topic, said Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency, the ISI, helped the Taliban leaders move from Quetta, where they were exposed to attacks by unmanned U.S. drones.

The development reinforces suspicions that the ISI, which helped create the Taliban in the 1990s to expand Pakistani influence in Afghanistan, is working against U.S. interests in Afghanistan as the Obama administration prepares to send more U.S. troops to fight there.

Bruce Riedel, a CIA veteran and analyst on al Qaeda and the Taliban, confirmed that Mullah Omar had been spotted in Karachi recently.

"Some sources claim the ISI decided to move him further from the battlefield to keep him safe" from U.S. drone attacks, said Mr. Riedel, who headed the Obama administration's review of policy for Afghanistan and Pakistan last spring. "There are huge madrassas in Karachi where Mullah Omar could easily be kept." ……………………

A second senior intelligence officer who specializes in monitoring al Qaeda said U.S. intelligence had confirmed Mullah Omar's move through both electronic and human sources as well as intelligence from an unnamed allied service......................

This may not be connected with Headley/Rana, but facts are tumbling out at a rapid pace ever since their arrest.
"There are huge madrassas in Karachi where Mullah Omar could easily be kept," he said.

That would be the Binori Madarsa for one.
But now that this has been identified I don't think this will be the place he will hide in.

The taliban are in control of a big section of Karachi which has irritated the local MQM a lot. However the MQM has truly met its match in terms of fire power and so an uneasy truce prevails for now.
Mullah omar is either headed for one of those safe areas in the Taliban's control or will be kept in an ISI safehouse just like the early days of Dawood Ibrahim's stay in that city. Later on Dawood moved to the more comfortable clifton banglow under protection of the local police and the ISI.

For that matter, even OBL was suspected to be not hiding in mountain caves or hiding out in FATA / NWFP. It was mostly assumed that he would be comfortably kept in a major pakistani town with good medical care facilities.

Karachi with its sea access is very high on the list of places where the top leadership of major terror/mafia organizations would hide.

NYTimes :: Nov 19, 2009 :: Ex-Military Officer in Pakistan Is Linked to 2 Chicago Terrorism Suspects
By DAVID JOHNSTON and ERIC SCHMITT

WASHINGTON — The arrests last month of two Chicago men accused of planning an attack on a Danish newspaper have widened into a global terrorism inquiry that has led to arrests in Pakistan and implicated a former Pakistani military officer as a co-conspirator, government officials said Wednesday.

................................................

The case is one of the first criminal cases in which the federal authorities seem to have directly linked terrorism suspects in the United States to a former Pakistani military officer, though they have long suspected connections between extremists and many members of the Pakistani military. Intelligence officials believe that some Pakistani military and intelligence officials even encourage terrorists to attack what they see as Pakistan’s enemies, including targets in India.

................................................

The complaints suggested that Mr. Headley — who was accused of the most serious charges, attempting to murder and maim in a foreign country — had cooperated with the authorities after his arrest on Oct. 3 as he boarded a plane on the first leg of a trip to Pakistan. The officials, who asked not to be identified because they were discussing a continuing inquiry, now say that the investigation has widened further in part because of the wealth of information supplied by Mr. Headley.

...........................................................

Mr. Headley and Mr. Rana are graduates of a military academy in the town of Hasan Abdal in Pakistan, and they maintained e-mail contact with other former students, including officers in Pakistan’s military. They belonged to a group of the school’s graduates who referred to themselves as the “abdalians” in Internet postings, according to government affidavits.

Mr. Headley and Mr. Rana were accused in the complaints of reporting to Ilyas Kashmiri, a former Pakistani military officer who has become an Islamic militant commander associated with both Al Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The latter is a Pakistan-based militant group suspected in the deadly attacks in Mumbai.

The officials declined to name the other former military officer in the case, who is suspected as a co-conspirator. He is said to have recently left the Pakistani Army and held the rank of colonel or brigadier general, higher ranks than Mr. Kashmiri held.
One official who has been briefed on the investigation said that Pakistani authorities had arrested as many as five other people in connection with the plot in recent weeks, including some former or current Pakistani military officials. Those people remain in custody, but it was unclear what role they played in the expanding plot.

American military and intelligence officials said the case involving Mr. Headley and Mr. Rana reflected a new and evolving pattern of individual militants with different backgrounds and experience, rather than terrorist groups, teaming up to plot and carry out attacks.

“In a lot of ways, it’s moving beyond the mainline activities of individual groups to elements of various militant groups or terrorist organizations that have spent time together, have fought together, maybe trained together, that now have associations with certain facilitators that now come together to plan and execute attacks,” said a Defense Department official who is following the case closely.

“The present and future is less about individual groups conducting attacks, and more about combinations of individuals, and groups and facilitators that come together,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the criminal investigation. “Together they have the resources, the means, the insights to execute those attacks.”

The official said that Mr. Kashmiri was a prime example of this new kind of operator. Mr. Kashmiri, a former Pakistani special operations commando, has extensive contacts with Kashmiri militant groups as well as with Al Qaeda in Pakistan.

Officials in Mumbai said that Mr. Headley and Mr. Rana visited the city and several others in India in the months before the assault on Mumbai last November, and may have visited some of the sites that were attacked.

“It seems like there is some connection” between the attacks and the two men’s repeated visits to India, Ashok Chavan, chief minister of Maharashtra State, said in an interview. “But the link has to be established.”

......................................................

India’s home minister, P. Chidambaram, told reporters last week that the links were being explored but declined to elaborate.

“He visited India many times before 26/11,” Mr. Chidambaram told reporters, referring to the date of the attacks on Nov. 26, 2008. “We are investigating a probable link between 26/11 and Headley.”

Investigators in India have long suspected the attackers in Mumbai had outside help in planning and carrying out the assaults beyond the Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders based in Pakistan. Some of their targets, like the Jewish center, were not well known and were hard to find.

From Pakistan to Phila.: A terror suspect's journey
At age 16, as Daood Gilani, he was taken out of Pakistan, where he attended a military school, and brought to Philadelphia by his mother, a well-known Old City nightspot owner.

Today, under the name of David Coleman Headley, he sits in a federal prison in Chicago, charged by the FBI with planning terrorist attacks overseas - including an alleged plot to target the Danish newspaper that in 2005 angered Muslims with a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad.

A number of good 'Nuggets' in this week's TFT. My apologies if already posted:
Nuggets from the Urdu press

Man who triggered Swat operation

Writing in Jang Hamid Mir stated that the man called Ilyas who whipped a girl in public in Swat had been caught in Dera Ismail Khan. A video of this atrocity had surfaced in March 2009 and aroused so much rage that the Supreme Court took notice of it and the talks with Sufi Muhammad broke down, leading to the military operation against the Taliban. The man had whipped a protesting married woman while other men were holding her down.

Between Allah and America

Columnist Saleem Safi wrote in Jang that if one were to learn from history then it would become clear that the country did not ask for aid from Allah but went begging to the US. Hussain Haqqani’s sister-in-law

Traders, the PMLN and jihad

Writing in Aajkal Mujahid Hussain stated that rich traders in Punjab were aligned with the PMLN but they were also aligned with the religious organisations, funding madrassas and mosques and jihadi organisations. They also aspired to electoral seats on the PMLN ticket. They were the rising power in Punjab.

Honour, where are you?

World famous Dr AQ Khan father of atom bomb wrote in Jang that honour was once the way of life of Muslims but it had fled now and Pakistan was known as the world’s most honour-less beggar 8) . Once upon a time Muslims died for honour but now they wanted to live without honour.

Throw away American aid!

Writing in Nawa-e-Waqt Dr Ajmal Niazi stated that when American aid reached the Christians of Gojra who had been attacked by Sipah Sahaba for blasphemy the Christians threw the aid back in the direction of the American official who had accompanied the aid. On this the American official ran away. This is what Pakistan should do to American aid under the Kerry-Lugar Bill.

Ajmal Kasab’s lawyer and RAW

Reported in Khabrain the Pakistan-based lawyer of the Pakistani terrorist facing trial in India Ajmal Kasab has accused RAW of having stolen his case file. Lawyer CM Farooq was in Islamabad trying to get a visa to India to defend his client when someone stole the file from his room. Mr Farooq accused India for having done the dastardly deed.

Quetta government runs away

Writing in Jinnah Chief Editor Khan stated after the reference of Quetta in the Kerry-Lugar Bill most members of the Quetta Assembly had run away from Quetta thinking that drones would soon be targeting the Taliban there :D . The MPAs who form the government as ministers ran away to Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.

Railways breathes its last

According to Jinnah Pakistan Railways had overrun its life in the sector of tracks by 175 years, meaning that the railway tracks which should have been changed a long time ago are still serving. Most of the routes in Punjab have tracks that are 200 years old. The signal system also dates back to British Raj. Every year because of the old track the Railways suffers around 8,000 accidents.

Get rid of advisers!

Advising President Asif Zardari, chief editor of Jinnah wrote that to survive the latest confrontation with the army, he should get rid of the following people: Ambassador Husain Haqqani, Waqar Gulzar, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Manzur Wattoo, Ijaz Jakhrani and Fauzia Wahab.
