Oddly enough, Jane Seymour a.k.a Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg, a former Bond girl (Live & Let Die, 1973) has one eye hazel and the other green! Apparently, this condition is called heterochromia. Father is a jew from Poland and the mother is Dutch.

There is something here on which I am not able to put my finger upon, is it remotely conceivable that David Headley was an identity theft from a dead person. I wouldnt put it past the yankees to do that, i.e. Headley is Gilani who in reality is neither!

I have strong reasons to believe that "they are under trial in TSP" is just an excuse for not naming them. I spoke to some knowledgeable US people and one of them suspects that they are not named because one or more are serving TSPA officers. For example, "LeT member A" is almost surely Sajid Mir, who goes by the name Zarar Shah and maybe also Abu al Qama. But I'm told that even "Sajid Mir" may not be his real name and his real identity is a senior serving TSPA officer. By naming him, Unkil will be forced to charge him or at least explain why they are not doing so. That will lead to exposes that will be crossing TSPA red lines.
Very well said sir, but there are few linkages I would like to add,
that
gilani---->cia,isi,let,

and member A---->isi,(cia?),let

We know that since 9/11 cia would be using its old linkages to do whatever it is doing in afpak now, surely if member A is indicted, it is bound to affect cia's interest, if not khan's interest.
Same reason why we cannot touch gilani.
Here it seems that Fbi's interest is in deeds of rana and gilani against usa(a p reports) ,and not in those works where its findings do something else.

There are published news stories dating back to 1977 when daood gilani's mother Serril Headley got his custody when he was 17 and got him to USA with her, commenting on his two colour eyes. So its not even remotely conceivable that daood gilani aka david headley is someone else!

Gilani could'nt have had a TSP passport as any visit to TSP with such a passport would've sent his TSPA handlers into a fit! Any entry/exit immigration stamp on a TSP passport will show up sooner or later, there is another nationality involved here, possibly Arab/KSA. Btw, he could pass for Lebanese/Jordanian easily enough, even the accent would'nt be that different.

The court documents mention Headley's 5 visits to TSP right after visiting India, It is not clear, if any of his TSP visit has been arranged/facilitated by DEA or any other US agency, as its on record that he worked as undercover operator/ informer for DEA. In absence of any details, as of today, we can only speculate as to why no one in Indian consulate/Immigration controls, found it curious if all his paki visits were reflected on his passport! The visa papers with Chicago consulate if they ever come out in public will be interesting to say the least!

^^^ 5 visits to TSPA could've been managed through a multiple entry visa courtesy of Rana. It is the number of passports and their origin which is in serious question here. Did he fly direct from India to TSP or did he go through Dubai/Bangkok etc?

If you remember well, there was political turmoil and a holdup in Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi int'l airport leading upto and during 26/11, we will possibly never know how many crafty abduls used that chaos and confusion to throw us off their backs! Meanwhile, the Munnar, Kochi and BD link seems to have gone cold now!

Assets of Headley spread across US, Pak & Gulf
There were indications that Headley was into the real estate business in a Gulf country as per documents procured by the security agencies and the National Investigating Agency (NIA), probing the role of Headley and his Pakistani-Canadian accomplice Tahawwur Rana.

According to sources privy to the investigations, the 49-year-old Headley owns palatial houses in Pakistan and the US besides flats in a Gulf country and vast estate land running into several crores of rupees.

According to the sources, the investigators had been able to find details about Headley's properties from his 'friends' network in India which included detailed questioning of a noted socialite in the megapolis. {RB really knows a lot more than he is coming out with. He also seems to be coming out in installments, as the situation demands.}

Obviously RB knows much more than he and his dad are revealing. You're so close to Headley and know his trips to Pakistan, talk of pajero convoys and don't realize that he's originally paki? When so close, sometimes Hindi/ urdu too slips out and reveals a person. Theres no way RB knew him as a white American. If he got that bad conned he must be a complete idiot. However seeing Pooja Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatts Paki and WKK sympathies obviously 'dal me kuch kaala hai'.

Chicago Terror Suspect Set to Enter Plea
Judge denied bail because he's a flight risk
By ANDREW GREINER
Updated 7:00 AM CST, Mon, Jan 25, 2010

One of the men accused of plotting to blow up a Danish newspaper and laying the groundwork for the2008 attacks in Mumbai, India, is expected to plead not guilty this afternoon during his arraignment.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana will appear in federal court Monday before U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber.

Rana, one of two men accused of planning an attack on a Danish newspaper whose cartoons were offensive to much of the Islamic world, has been making desperate pleas to win his release on bond. But Leinenweber has called him a flight risk.

The 49-year-old Rana owns a Chicago-based immigration service. He faces life in prison for his involvement in the attacks.

His partner, David Headley's arraignment is set for January 27.

Chicago Man Pleads Not Guilty in Terror Cases
Monday, January 25, 2010

CHICAGO — A Chicago businessman accused of leading a double life as an international terrorist pleaded not guilty Monday to making plans for an attack on a Danish newspaper and helping arrange the rampage in 2008 that killed 166 people in the Indian city of Mumbai.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, 49, a Canadian national born in Pakistan, intends to fight the charges, attorney Patrick Blegen said after the arraignment.

"I am optimistic that we can fight these charges and clear Mr. Rana's name," Blegen told reporters. He said he will keep up the fight, futile so far, to get his soft-spoken, gray-bearded client released on bond while awaiting trial.

Rana appeared in court guarded by husky marshals and wearing the bright orange jumpsuit of a federal prisoner, with leg irons that rattled when they caught momentarily on the wheel of a chair.

He politely said good morning to Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys and spelled his name for the court reporter but said little else. If convicted, he could be sent to federal prison for the rest of his life.

Rana and co-defendant David Coleman Headley, 49, an American who went to school in Pakistan, are accused of laying the groundwork for the deadly November 2008 rampage by 10 terrorists who left a trail of carnage through Mumbai. Nine were eventually killed and the tenth person accused is now in custody.

Rana and Headley are also accused of planning an attack on the Jyllands Posten newspaper, which set off weeks of protests among Muslims after publishing 12 cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad in 2005. That attack never took place.

Prosecutors say that the alleged terrorist plans were tied to a Pakistan-based terrorist group, Lashkar e Taiba (Army of the Good) that has been in violent conflict with the government of India over the disputed territory of Kashmir.

Two other men, retired Pakistani military officer Rehman Abdur Hashim Syed and accused terrorist leader Ilyas Kashmiri, also are charged in connection with the planned attack on the Danish newspaper. Their whereabouts are unknown, although the indictment said Kashmiri has been in Pakistan's tribal areas, home to various terrorist groups.

Rana is specifically charged with two counts of conspiracy to provide aid to terrorism and one count of actually providing such support.

Headley, who is cooperating with federal prosecutors, faces a possible death sentence if convicted of the various charges against him. An American citizen who was born in this country but went to school in Pakistan, Headley is due to answer to the charges on Wednesday.

Blegen said at the arraignment Monday that Rana, who owns a downstate farm and an immigration service, cannot afford to pay for his defense. The attorney said he will ask U.S. District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber, who is presiding over the case, to appoint him as Rana's government-paid counsel.

While Rana may have some money, "he doesn't have enough to fund the defense of a large, federal criminal case and virtually nobody does," Blegen told reporters later. He said such a trial could take months and cost a fortune.

Blegen said Rana "is a pleasant man" but is being held in an area of the Metropolitan Correctional Center reserved for troublemakers, confined "in a very small room almost 24 hours a day." He said that Rana cannot move within the center without "a three-man hold" — three correctional officers to guard him.

Tahawwur Rana is honest and innocent, says family
Akhtar said Rana had gone to Pakistan since his grandmother had died. Since he was in Pakistan, he decided to go to India as well. He applied for a visa and went to India after he got the visa, Akhtar said. Isn't he a deserter? A few days back his defence team said he can be trusted not to vanish to Pakistan as he is a deserter

"Once there, he decided to visit the Taj. What is wrong with that? Everybody wants to see the Taj. It was closed because it was Friday and so he had to stay the night and now the Indian press has gone and harassed our family in India asking them all sorts of questions about Rana,” he said, adding all his five children are doctors and are all honest.

“They have never even smoked a cigarette. I do not know how this happened”. Must have been smoking something else

Prosecutors allege that Rana was in Mumbai and traveled to Dubai five days before the November, 2008, attacks in Mumbai that killed 166 people, including foreigners. They have also submitted as evidence an Al-Qaeda DVD recovered from Rana’s house that he says was given to him by Headley.

Headley, Rana in same lock up but not meeting each other
Chicago, Jan 26, (PTI):

Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana, friends from a military school in Pakistan and facing charges of conspiring 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, have not been in contact with each other or met despite being in the same federal lock-up.

"They are not in contact with each other at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre. They are not meeting or even eating in the same area," souces said. Rana has pleaded not guilty to helping his old friend Headley in plotting the terror attacks in Mumbai that claimed 166 lives. He also entered the not guilty plea to charges of providing material support in the Denmark terror plot and to the banned Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Rana's friendship with Headley dates back to the Pakistani military school known as Cadet College Hasan Abdal, where both were students. According to government affidavits, Rana and Headley maintained e-mail contact with other former students, including officers in Pakistan's military. They belonged to a group of the school's graduates who referred to themselves as the "abdalians" in Internet postings.

Prosecutors allege that Rana helped Headley by allowing him to use his immigration company as a cover for surveillance trips to India and Denmark. After the January 14 indictment that charged Rana and Headley with plotting the Mumbai and Denmark terror plots, it was generally thought that the two would be brought in court together for their arraignments.

However, Rana and Headley are appearing separately to respond to the charges against them. While Pakistani-Canadian Rana was arraigned on Monday, Headley would appear in court before Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys on January 27. Sources say with Headley "cooperating in the investigation", authorities may not want to bring them together at court hearings or even at the MCC.

Rana's lawyer Patrick Blegen said while he has "known" Headley's attorney John Theis for a long time, "there is not much they can tell me and not much I can tell them". Rana is held on a floor on the MCC, in downtown here, that is designated for people who have committed some offense within the institution.

His suitcase left in Mumbai led to phone book and woman he wooed

New Delhi : A suitcase left behind by David Headley during his last visit to India — in March 2009 — at the Jogeshwari residence of one Bashir Sheikh has led Indian investigators to the person who probably came closest to the Lashkar-e-Toiba suspect: a 28-year-old Parsi woman who was employed as a “kitchen executive” at the Oberoi Trident Hotel.
Intelligence sources have confirmed to The Indian Express that this woman’s questioning has provided key leads in the ongoing investigation.

Headley is in custody in Chicago and has been indicted by the FBI — along with aide Tahawwur Rana — for his role in plotting the Mumbai attacks.

Sources said the Parsi woman, a hotel management graduate — her name is being withheld — has told investigators that she frequently dined with Headley at other 26/11 targets as well, the Taj Hotel and the Leopold Café.

The woman lived with her parents — Headley visited her house twice — and she helped her parents run a bakery in south Mumbai. It was “near” this bakery that the unexploded 8 kg of RDX was found on the night of 26/11.

Sources said the woman has told investigators that Headley “assiduously pursued” her with flowers, email and SMS when he was abroad and, in March 2009, gifted her a platinum bracelet.

Significantly, she said, Headley frequently spoke to her about his “fascination” with close-combat weapons and admitted he had interactions with “weapon mafia dons” during his frequent visits to Pakistan.

Bashir Sheikh has since been identified as the owner of a milk dairy — who was known to Headley’s aide Tahawwur Rana and had been deported from the US in 2005 — and as the person who received Headley at Mumbai airport during his first visit in September 2006. Bashir booked Headley in Outram Hotel in Mumbai following which Headley shifted to his paying guest accommodation in Breach Candy.

Headley parked two of his suitcases and a fax machine in Bashir’s house in Jogeshwari. {AFAIK a number of sleeper cells exists in this area} On his last visit, he went to Bashir’s house and picked up only one of the suitcases.

The one he left behind, Intelligence sources said, contained used clothes, shoes, toiletries, tinned food, visiting cards, a copy of Headley’s passport and registration papers of the Osho Ashram — which Headley visited in July 2008 — and a Nokia handset with a SIM.

The phone was earlier used by the 50-year-old Parsi secretary Headley hired in December 2006 when he set up his Immigration Law Centre.

The SIM’s phone book showed up numbers for the 28-year-old Trident employee, Rana, Rahul Bhatt as well as Vilas Varak, the Moksha gym trainer, and a list of international numbers, which are being analysed. Investigators have also confirmed a “Headley connection” with a male fashion designer (name being withheld) who runs a fashion store on Bhulabhai Desai Road and came in contact with Headley at the gym in early 2007.

This fashion designer has told investigators that Headley evinced a keen interest in visiting Ganapati temples and pandals and that he kept photographing the places they visited. {I just can't imagine what will happen to Mumbai if bombs go off in Ganapati pandal. }

Interesting nuggets have also been pieced together after Rahul Bhatt and Vilas Varak have been questioned and SMSs exchanged between them examined. Rahul, for instance, has said that Headley was familiar with names and titles of senior Defence personnel in Mumbai and New Delhi and boasted that he could count 242 shakhas of the Shiv Sena. Rahul also said that Headley was familiar with the functioning of special commando units in India, Pakistan and Israel and that he had seen him reading former sleuth B Raman’s book “The Kaoboys of RAW.”

Varak has said he was hired by Headley as a personal trainer for Rs 5,000 a month and that during his fifth visit to India in September-October 2007, Headley became a frequent visitor to the Golf Club in Mahalaxmi. Headley even purchased a golf set, which is still lying unclaimed with Varak.

Perhaps some effort can be made to identify IP addresses attached to known locations where Gilani/Headley & Rana were known to have been, and see if these IPs turn up on BRF server logs on specific dates? These server logs would also indicate the pages viewed and pics downloaded -- there might be some genuine value there. Just a thought........

Two stories from Hindu

1) Rahul Bhatt's Hunch
London: Rahul Bhatt, son of film director Mahesh Bhatt, is “convinced” that Pakistani-American LeT operative, David Headley was working for the FBI when he was in Mumbai before the 26/11 terror attacks.

“I’m convinced Headley was working for the Americans, for the FBI. I’d nicknamed him agent Headley,” Mr. Rahul Bhatt said in an interview to U.K.’s Channel 4.

“It was the Americans’ deepest wish to infiltrate Al-Qaeda. And David did exactly that for them. I had a hunch then and I have a hunch now that he was an American agent of some sort,” he said.

“You know, he even begged me to stop calling him ‘Agent Headley’ in public. Now I know why,” he was quoted as saying.
Should blame papa Bhatt for the sorry confused state of this man.

2) Did Headley try to eliminate his contact?
Mumbai: Did Pakistani-American terror suspect David Headley try to eliminate his woman ‘friend’ — a former woman hotel executive — who could provide vital evidence to investigators?

Piecing together material and circumstantial evidence collected during the probe, security agencies have raised this question after finding that the Lashkar-e-Taiba militants who were behind the 26/11 attacks had planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) below the bakery at Hotel Oberoi. The woman’s family ran the bakery.

Official sources said on Wednesday that the IED might have been kept there at the instruction of Headley as he possibly wanted no crucial evidence about his presence in Mumbai.

The sources said the woman had told the probe team about the places frequented by Headley and his association with various people, including Rahul Bhatt and other socialites, who were questioned by the National Investigation Agency.

The woman’s identity was not revealed.

So RB would have been revealed one way or the other. The woman must have realized what the IED ment. Wonder why she didnt come clean before the current investigation. There is something very troublesome with all these people who came in contact with the Paki terrorists. They dont go to the police with their doubts at first instance. Why?

Mumbai Police should think this over as to why people with information dont come forward even when the damage is done. Maybe they should have a better trained liason unit that handles such information.

Thats a sterotype propogated by Bollywood and TV. Yes there are a few bad pandus but the force as a whole is good. Till the MARCOS and NSG arrived it was the common policeman who held the terrorists confined to the hotels.
And it was a Mumbai Policeman whose action led to the terrorist Kasab getting caught. If it weren't for that none of these chai-biskoot sessions would be going on. And Pakis would be playing in IPL.

There is this doubt still in my mind. Kasan claims that Headley interviewed him after the attack. We know Headley visited India after the attacks. Was it possible he mis-represented himself to Mumbai Police and got to see Kasab? We know Kasab is liar but need to close that loop.

Lalmohan, That is why I said Mumbai Polce should ponder over the matter.

Chicago, Jan 28 (IANS) As Mumbai terror plot accused David Coleman Headley pleaded not-guilty during an arraignment here, he could become the centrepiece of a debate on how to treat terror suspects in the US.

Headley, who was presented before US Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys Wednesday morning, expectedly entered a plea of not guilty to all the 12 counts of indictment against him.

Just one day before the arraignment former Bush White House press secretary Dana Perino used his case to challenge the Obama administration's strategy to deal with such cases. The main point of contention of President Barack Obama's detractors and critics is that in such cases it makes no sense to treat suspects as criminal defendants.

Citing the Obama administration's supposed argument Perino and Bill Burck, a former federal prosecutor and deputy counsel to president Bush, wrote in the National Review Online: 'Most recently, David Headley, who has been indicted in Chicago for helping plan the 2008 Mumbai attacks, has given us information of enormous intelligence value.'

The two then countered it saying: 'So the Justice Department has cut a deal with Headley to get him to talk. It will be interesting to see how much prison time will be shaved off for his cooperation. We'll find out after he pleads guilty and is sentenced. Headley's deal might give us a preview of how much time the Justice Department is contemplating for Abdulmutallab: 50 years? 20? Two?'

The reference to Abdulmutallab is about Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old Nigerian who nearly blew up a Delta jet Dec 25 flying in from Amsterdam.

Perino's mention of Headley is part of a larger piece titled 'Obfuscation after obfuscation' that wonders whether the Obama administration's statement on Abdulmutallab's interrogation hides more than it reveals.

It is critical of the decision to treat Abdulmutallab as a criminal defendant 'with Miranda rights, a decision we now know was made without consulting the intelligence services whose job it is to protect the country from attacks'.

Whatever deal Headley may make with the US, he must be extradited to India when he is released.

Mumbai resident admits meeting Headley, Rana
CNN-IBN

Mumbai: Mumbai resident Mohammed Bashir Sheikh was reportedly in contact with Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives Tahawwur Hussain Rana and David Coleman Headley.

He, however, denied knowing terror suspect Headley personally, but has said that he did meet Rana seven to eight times.

Sheikh reportedly first met Rana while he was a cab driver in US in connection with his application for immigration to Canada.

"I had given my papers to Tahawwur Rana in 2002 for immigration while I was working in US as a driver. I wanted citizenship of either US or Canada. In 2005 I decided to return to India. I was not deported. I have gone to Rana's immigration office in Worli thrice for interview purposes. While I was in touch with Rana and Headley, I had no clue that they were involved in terrorist activities," said Sheikh.

"I have given all the details and documents to NIA. If I had any role in their activities, then I would have been arrested and not been roaming freely," he said.

Sources say in Headley and Rana's ads in newspapers for their firm, Sheikh's name had been mentioned as the contact person.

Sheikh reportedly booked a room in a guesthouse for Headley near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai.

Sridhar guru , GoI has still not hanged the Headleys in India itself, Afzal Guru and that pig Kasab is eating Biriyani bought by Indians taxpayers money . I think so far GoI has not shown the will to deal with terrorists. Let Headley rot in amriki jails only. Hope the amriki sarkar sends him to Guatanamo jail. GoI does not deserve to ask for deportation of terrorists. Jai Ho onlee !!!

Headley visited Sena Bhavan & Siddhivinayak Temple
The police said on Thursday that Headley’s visit to these places came to light through a statement by Vilas Varak, recorded much earlier in the investigation. Mr. Varak, an instructor at south Mumbai’s Moksha gym, where Headley was a member, had said in his statement that he took Headley to the Siddhivinayak temple and the Sena Bhavan on his bike.

Missing link in probe: Headley’s 'African associate' in Mumbai
Indian agencies are still trying to trace an African national who has been described as a “close associate” of the Lashkar-e-Toiba operative.
While a mention of the mysterious African associate came after questioning a Headley contact, the link resurfaced once text messages sent by Rahul Bhatt to Headley — from the phone left behind in the suitcase — were scrutinized. One SMS sent by Bhatt mentions “a born-again ni...r (derogatory reference to a Black)”
This rahul bhatt fellow is a chuppa rustum. He acts like he isn't or wasn't aware. I assume he is a sympathizer, the reason why he didn't think headley's actions were worrying. Im sure he knows more such headley's. Actually, the entire bhatt clan should have contacts, directly or indirectly to these sort of headleys. Claiming that they *weren't aware* in the aftermath is a fu@king joke. Someone needs to get it straight with them.

No reason to believe relevant agencies are not aware of this and are not doing something about it!!!

Does the Bhatt family have a massa connection? It might be useful to probe this to determine if its there or not.
