Not true. You forgot the Chicago guy and the NY Subway plotters. They were Pakistanis too & targeted the US. Not to mention the murky Pakistan connection to 9/11
Wanted to say first direct attempt. From now on this is going to daily things in the war against American infidels, just like how India is facing the threat of Pakistan. The U.S seem much more infidel than India. Pakistan nation is targeting the U.S while hiding under the Hijab. Let's see what the U.S does. It seems more money and weapons (I do believe that's going to happen) or else stone age Pakistan (very unlikely since U.S will need it to wage war against the democratic India to check the rise of democratic republic of India{oohhhh}). If they stick with the first part, the fall of U.S is beginning. Let's wait and watch what's going to be the U.S response. Will MMS intervene to cool off the tension between U.S and Pakistan and will he ask the U.S to hand over some parts to Pakistan and make peace with them. The two nuclear nations fighting against each other will be a disaster. So I wish MMS will intervene and ensure that Obama is restrained from launching an attack against Pakistani terrorists. Let there be Peace. :rotfl:

1. So much for no-fly lists, and the early handing over of passenger lists by airlines to the US Dept of Homeland security.

2. snark - Perhaps FBI and CIA were arguing - CIA wanting to keep its asset, and FBI wanting to enforce the law; and the FBI won in the last moment. Sort of one of those "NCIS" or other TV show moments.

'All Pakistanis are terrorists'

By Imran Khan in Asia on May 4th 2010

Clearly it's a nonsensical headline.

But a quick glance across news headlines on Tuesday May 4 reveals the two top stories are both about young Pakistani men, one a resident of Lahore, the other with a background similar to mine, a Western citizen of Pakistani descent.

The first has been convicted with terrorism offences in India, the second arrested in connection with the Times Square foiled bomb attempt.

Now, I have no idea whether the chap arrested in connection with New York offence is a terrorist or not. But it almost does not matter.

Form of racism

Pakistanis and those of Pakistani descent are once again under the spotlight. It's a form of racism and anger building because of it.

I travel a lot. In the last eight months I have visited the US a number of times.

Each time I have been pulled into secondary immigration, a sort of holding pen whilst your validity to enter the US is checked out.

It takes at least three hours and after a 14-hour flight is not a welcome proposition.

Same questions

The questions are always the same: Why are you here? Who are you visiting? My answers inevitably are always the same. No matter, each time I had to go through the process.

A visa application of mine to a country I won't name has been put through a much more stringent process because I am of Pakistani descent............……………

I doubt that would be possible, unless this guy melts away in the land of houris...

Look forward for the day when all ME airlines start treating pakis as pakis.

Pakis are getting purer by the day. Soon no one (will want to) even touch them..

my theory about this paki is he was setup to fail as a direct warning by GoP to Gotus to pay up in the 56 page
list of military and financial demands or else.

the kind of people who trained kasab and the mumbai crew could do a far better job of atleast teaching their
student how to make a workable explosive rather than the amateurish dud device he produced. and they could
teach him how to hide all traces. this is after all an attack on times square - the belly of the infidel beast and
a very high profile place - you dont assign a B-lister to such targets.

and the pakis chose a american passport holder to drive home the point that they can reach in and turn more
such people who by virtue of US passport travel quite easily in and out.

true to form, the US will cave in shortly and announce a fat package to keep its pet happy. the only good
thing coming out of it could be donating 300 mothballed marine M1A1HA tanks for PA's third strike corps.

Since the accuracy of Paki-nuke missiles is doubtful, India is extremely concerned about the Am-Pak nuclear flash point. India is worried that a paki-nuke might fall back on Paki soil radiating south-asian river systems.

US must talk to Paki non-state actors and buy peace at any cost. Perhaps it can handover the state of Arizona to Pakis.

Witness the alacrity with which Pakis from Quereshi on were quick to condemn the NY city plot by one of their pigs. Contrast this witj the brazen chutzpah post 26/11 even daring India for a fight.

Guys:

As much as I commend the professionalism for the NYPD police, FBI etc in nailing the Paki pig for attempting to blow up Times Sqaure, one thing troubles me. Prima Facie, it looks like they have been tracking every citizen, mostly Pakis of course coming back from the pure land. How did they make the connection between the buyer of the car to be this Paki? It seems to me that the vast data base of info, they pulled up every Paki in CT area and by careful elimination based on other clues zeroed in on this guy. Apparently, he was being tracked since Sunday.

My point being that unlike in India where national security is a joke, and "secularims" trumps in US its a big deal, but it would trouble me if govt were slimily tracking people of a particular race or looks etc.

India held talks under US pressure: Qureshi
ISLAMABAD, May 04: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that India restarted talks with Pakistan because of the pressure exerted by United States and European Union. Speaking at the Geo TV program ‘Capital Talk’ on Tuesday he said that there was no comparison on actions of Ajmal Kasab and Times Square Suspect Faisal Shahzad. To a question, he said the government was yet to decide on provision of legal assistance to Ajmal Kasab. The foreign minister said that Pakistan would soon get drone planes from Turkey

Do you think it was close or was it stage managed to get the maximum impact with the public and the media.

I was comparing the news coverage of CNN/international and FOXNEWS and others. CNN switched to their London office and kept repeating the same guys the entire day time coverage in Asia/ME. Their Paki correspondent talked about "Pakistan as a safe heaven for terrorists for a hosts of organization including LET". He brings frequently David Headley and Mumbai attack and tries equate Pakistan and Pakistan Americans to these attacks. This is the first time there is a wide coverage to David Headley by the US media outlets.

Foxnews had a more muted coverage of the NY attacker arrest talking about US citizen Paki connections and how the attacker was arrested. Not much focus on Pakistan as a terrorist nation. Both the news channel had removed their usual programs for this live telecast.

Other channels had various different coverage on the arrest. There seems to be focus on creating pressure on Pakistan internationally and this image change which US holds on Pakistan is the key to the control of the client state.

Saar the story of your emesis is heart rending but let me point out a clear double standard in your rant while you reach for your next barf bag.

The US lays a red carpet welcome for Kiyani and has been paying that army $2 billion a year and has just delivered a whole lot milltary goodies. But all these are nothing in your view compared to some genuflection by MMS. You do suggest laying out a red carpet for Kiyani by Delhi - but would India paying Kiyani the equivalent of 2 billion a year make you feel better? Is that what you are asking for? It's not clear from your post that compares the US with India. If Kiyani does not ask India how high he must jump it is because India is not paying him what your country is paying him. No?

You've had this blog since Jan 2009 ! and no one knows about it!

I've added it to my tab toolbar and will visit it regularly.

I think we need a forum page where BRFites list out the blogs that they maintain. No matter if it is related to defence or geostrategy or otherwise. As long as it is halal, why not list it for everyone to visit and learn?

The compulsions of GOI and the perfidy of the 3.5 allies which you have articulated so very well is well known here.I am interested in knowing what you believe should be the framework and worldview of GOI,the strategic view point and initiative which will break the current stalemate and also 'dissolve' pakistan in the present form.I am sure many would be interested in your thoughts.

Hit the iron when it is hot.

Due to the NY bomb plot the US media discussion sites are now agog.
get into those places (CNN, AP, Reuter, ABC, CBS, ...) and pour scorn
on TSP. Point out how it is hunting with the hound and running with the hare.
How it is keeping up the terrorism in India which the US is experiencing lately.
keep your comments short and sweet :D

What a ludicrous comedy. The US and Pakistan in 69 position licking each others nether regions. TV News says that the New York mayor is begging that Pakistanis should not be targeted because the bomber Shezad has admitted to "acting alone". In the meantime Pakistan has arrested 10 people in connection with the attempted blast. Acting alone? With 10 people?

Can you believe the lengths these two countries go to suck up to each other so the other does not get upset? It would have been funny if India had not been at the receiving end of this fakap

RamanaGaru,

Just one more; as I reply to Shiv.

Shiv:

Come on boss, the $s and goodies US pays Kiyani is pocket change in their grand scheme of things. And look what US has got from Kiyani. For a start anybody US identifies through its database is picked up from Karachi or Peshawar and dispatched to the Bay area. I was just listening to NPR, it was astonishing to me that in the immediate aftrrmath of 9/11, apparently US arrested and/or detailed 1000s and 1000s of Muslims including from TSP. This is what Mush delivered for the goodies. And this is just for starters. The relationship between US and TSP is one between a a CEO and a loyal chauffer.

In contrast, what Kiyani would want from India is to let him fly the green crescent over the red fort in New Delhi. The relationship between India and TSP is that between a neighborhood gangster (TSP) and a puny citizen (India) who is s@it scared where the ganster will beat the pulp out of him should he dare stand up to the gansgter. And out of helplessness, the puny citizen tries his best to be nice to the gangster.

Anway, lets agree to disagree. I am curios to see what prices US extracts from TSP, or what TSP posture will be post this NY city failed terror plot.

my theory is anyone who stays in US (gc/h1/f1/citizen) visiting certain countries of interest get tagged in some database and thereafter a passive record is maintained esp of financial dealings like large money transfers in or out, frequent visits, phone calls to certain countries....and some mapping sw also builds webs of links between such people for the database. filters and rules are installed to red flag someone whose activity profile hits a rule like say "visits pakistan twice in six months, gets $100k via western union from sudan and spends hangtime at the local islamic center owned by a cleric with known feelings"

in the interest of not attracting civil rights lawsuits or congressional criticism during political fractures, they probably tack on a whole lot of other innocents into the mix - like people of india, slovak republic, argentina and taiwan - just to keep it 'fair n balanced' and 'fully 200% secular'.
a nice black ops name like Project Arachnid or ThoughtMatrix with deputy directors of CIA, FBI and homeland security jointly chairing the board.

some electronic spider somewhere is logging all your hours on BR for sure

Expecting something like this?

Suspect in failed Times Square plot was Kashmiri: Source
Washington, DC: The Pakistani-American arrested in connection with Saturday's failed Times Square car bombing was of Kashmiri descent, but it is notknown if he was affiliated with any terrorist group, a source familiar with the investigation said today.
The source, who asked not to be named because the issue is sensitive, said the suspect, Faisal Shahzad, was born in 1979 and was from the disputed Kashmir region.

He had been in the United States for some time.

"Which group he may have belonged to and how he became radicalised, we don't know yet," the source said. "He is Kashmiri by ethnicity."

AoA,
Isn't it the right time for an aman ki asha between unkil and pa'astan.

Wait for unkil to issue a statement regarding the "resolution of Kashmir issue by BOTH India and Pakistan" is the key to reducing the occurrence of such incidents.

Perhaps you were not paying attention to news, it was easy to find this guy, he bought a vehicle which had a VIN number!

Besides, a Paki going home to Terror Central Pakistan to attend a terror training camp should be tracked, nothing wrong with that.
