From Arun Jaitley's interview posted above

Question: This sounds fine but why don't you see the ground reality in the Valley? India is living in a globalised world. More than 60 deaths can never be accepted. The over-emphasis on security is at the base of today's problem and here you are advocating more security measures.

Answer: You will have to change the agenda in the environment where you are living. One, in this world no country negotiates its territory. The era of changing geographical boundaries is over. The (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee regime didn't have the majority to make several constitutional changes. But, one important factor which was a contribution of the Vajpayee regime, was that we stopped he internationalisation of the issue of J&K. We substituted it with cross-border terrorism. Nobody talked about 'Kashmir' in New Delhi [ Images ]. (The Pakistan) President Pervez Musharraf [ Images ] tried it in Agra [ Images ] and the talks failed. Your question speaks volumes of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's [ Images ] Kashmir policy. This question means that we are afraid of world opinion and Kashmir is once again internationalised and nobody is talking about cross-border terrorism.

After seeing the images above, probably the only time in my adult life i wish we had a Stalinist Moscow/Maoist Beijing style government in Delhi (No,not those lobotomized hired monkeys that we have in WB and central states).'Gulag' these pricks for life in masses, and start diluting the population by making it 'secular'. It is beyond me what those brainwashed idiots see in Pakistan that they take it to streets every day? Better governance? No. Better education? No. Job prospects? No.Security? Big No.

Don't worry, Kaangress can always reach back to their beloved Rajiv Gandhi in repeating past "solutions" to these current problems - they can gift Kashmiris with EVMs.

Yes indeed.

All we need to do is unleash mani shankar iyer, a pox on his house, to get a interminable lecture on all solutions ever expounded by dear shri rajiv.

This malicious and evil gent (iyer) is seriously unable to distinguish one end of his alimentary canal from the other.

Wonder what the azaadi seekers will do, if India passes another parliamentary resolution (which is easy to accomplish) and declares the whole of Pakistan as an integral part of India.

Now if India really goes down the road that Shiv prescribed and made military moves to execute on this resolution, where will that leave the green flag totting freedom seekers.

The only Kashmiriyat I can see in their destiny is eternal ghulamiyat for these folks of one sort or the other. They were under Hindu Kings in the distant past as ghulams and now want to go back to the same slave status with Pakjabis and maybe Chinese too in the future, when true freedom beckons at their door-step by remaining in the Indian Union and reaping the benefits.

Manmohan may have to play arbiter at CCS meet

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/indi ... 538726.cms
The violence in Srinagar on Saturday, when separatists reneged on their promise to keep peace, could bolster those who have been counselling caution in lifting the AFSPA. This much was conceded by Omar Abdullah himself. Talking to a TV channel, the chief minister said that the violence will "cast a shadow" on the efforts to withdraw the AFSPA.

...

The continued opposition makes the CCS meeting, now scheduled for Monday, very crucial, and may leave Prime Minister Manmohan Singh playing the arbiter on the sensitive issue. Army's reservations have been conveyed to the Prime Minister by its chief, General V K Singh, himself. Significantly, General Singh had earlier publicly complained about the political leadership frittering away the gains the armed forces have made in the fight against terror at a huge cost.

It is slowly becoming clear that the present GoI has no clue of how to go about and is just lurching from crisis to crisis and is afraid of taking any tough steps ( courtsey Mai-baap of GoI, GoTUS)...

I really fear as to what state will the K-valley be in by the time UPA-II term ends? It may have already put one foot out of India by that time!!! :| :|

GoI's alacrity, clear-headedness and ruthless determination can be explained, in part, by excerpts from sri shiv's posts deriding us nanha jingoes in the manage c-hyena thread...
3) ...China is to be feared.: This is an Indian hang up. It belongs in a genre of Indian perceptions based on poor self esteem and the belief that we have been enslaved, robbed, hoodwinked, cheated and that we cannot handle the world which is too clever for us. Everyone is more clever and scheming and more concerned with their self interest than India.

4) China knows that they can beat us any time. So, like cunning jackals they trap us by quietly surrounding us. This is a funny one. The fallacy in this view is never mentioned. If China can beat us any time why do they have to use all these silly "hints and isharas". China should really be dropping the Indian frog in boiling water to finish it off right away. That is because we, with our poor self image believe that everyone sees us the way we see ourselves. Weak and waffling.
Just replace chyena with isloo or kashmiri sunni mussalmaans and see for yourself. :)

NDTV reports: Mob sets school on fire

The govt should announce a package which would give hope to angry youth. We could use the economic package to build new schools, which would be set on fire by angry youth.

The way things are progressing we may soon need a BENISYAT thread to describe these bakistanis who refuse to leave our legal lands.

While we are in a renaming spree, we can effect a peaceful temporary secession by just renaming Jammu&Kashmir(J&K) as Jammu&Ladakh(J&L) ; Kashmiris have been given freedom by Pakistan in POK areas under their control.

There is no Kashmir under Indian control it is all under Pak control, all we have is Jammu and Ladakh.

Mob demolishes Kashmiri Pandit's house in Anantnag
Fault: Occupied by SOG, renegades

GJ REPORT
Srinagar, Sept 10: Angry mob late Thursday night razed a migrant Kashmiri Pandit's house to ground for the only fault of his that the house was occupied by the government sponsored gunmen in mid nineties.
Sources said that Jehangir Ikhwani leader of the government sponsored gunmen in Anantnag district had to flee from the camp housed in one of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant's residential house after 15 years when an angry mob attacked the camp and demolished it within minutes.
The anti social elements demolished the camp of Special Operation Group (SOG) of police and renegades. Nearly 40-SOG men and near about 20 renegades locally known as Ikhwanis who were stationed in the Janglatmandi camp had left the place this afternoon fearing that protesters may attack them.
As the word about SOG men abandoning the camp spread in the area hundreds of people raising pro-freedom slogans assembled there and first razed the bunker and then demolished the house where SOG men used to put up.
Pertinently, the camp housed in one of the Kashmiri Pandit migrant's residential house, was occupied by the government gunmen in the town in mid nineties along with the other major camp located at Kadipora.
In 2002 when the Ikhwanis were adjusted in the counterinsurgent group of police-SOG--they continued to function from these two major camps in the town. It is for the first time since 1995 that Jehangir Ikhwani, commander of government gunmen had to abandon the camp fearing public outrage.
Locals have been demanding the shifting of these camps from the residential areas for many years.

Our genius economist PM should just let market forces fix most of the problems in Kashmir. Stopping welfare and opening the valley to business from the rest of India will create a lot of productive private sector jobs. They wont have any time for this BS when they have to spend long hours at work competing against one another for promotions and positions.

I saw "Children of Conflict" on CNN IBN today and the story was completely one sided and it appeared that the channel itself is advocating for Kashmir's azadi. What made me go bonkers is starting from host, editors to asst editors...everybody's last names were Bhonsle, Tiwari, Pandey etc....most of them were brahmin last names.....whats wrong with these brahmins there? are they sold out? don't they read that their brethren brothers of kashmir are literally being annihilated?

^^^ It is largely due to seeing others as different from themselves that is the root cause of this disease. In a way a lot of the Indian populace depending on their assumed place in society do not necessarily look upon other Indians as one like them with just a different makeup of language and cultural attributes. These Indians also deeply believe in a "Kashmiriyat" type of identity for themselves resulting in behaving exactly like the proponents of Kashmiriyat do.

Yes there is similarities. These are fund based movement which are sustained by hiring local foot soldiers.

But Indian media is a patsy and does not understand external western based feed into the region.

One clue is the PLA based money into the valley to create the sense of unrest when they made the mvoe into POK

They need acceptability in POK and the valley for the long term presence. That credibity has to be destroyed.

It could be joint work of PRC and unkil.

^^^ To conclude that, one would have to dis-entangle the coincident stone-pelting events for azaadi inthe valley with either one of the two events.
1) Actual timing of move of PLA to the POK areas of Gilgit+Baltitstan areas.
2) Timing of revelation of the PLA presence with the activities of the stone pelting brigade.

If it is one then what you say is not true. The second possibility could indicate a strong US hand in the valley disturbances.

I think all the event-threads will converge to the retreat of everyone now staking a claim in the area in front of Islamism. Neither GOI, nor Islamabad- Pakjabis, USA or CPC-PLA will be able to achieve what they want. It will virtually become a mini Somalia where Islamist warlords reign in a civilizational no-mans land.

Only political solution that GOI can offer is more "autonomy" - more power to Islamists in the valley - who will take it further down the road to an Islamist mini-state. But they will in turn then fall victim to the hungrier and less-on-quafar-produced-dole brethren and become part of the Cenral Asian Somaliland.

Historically the Chinese typically offered bribes of gold and women to such "barbarians" as a means of peace. This time around the CPC cannot have much option once the continuous Islamist Asiatic-Somalia forms. The much vaunted PLA's plight paid in their own coin of "fluid base area" and "Tsun Zuist" deception will be interesting to see.

This news presenter from NewsX is probably the cutest I've seen so far, for an Indian newscaster. Does anybody know if she's married?
Supermodels with silicone-injected lips make for much better ratings than snotty pug-nosed pit bulls like Barkin Mutt.

I want to know more about Shruti-the-Cutie.
All I can tell so far is that she continually swaps her V's and W's, in typical Indian ishtyle.

It just takes even the selected clippings shown in DDM to know that these are very, very grim days for India in the valley....

Image

Look at the great caption given by Chindu for this in the front page:
TIME OF TROUBLES: This graffiti on a road on the outskirts of the State capital captures the mood in Kashmir. A curfew was imposed in Srinagar and other major towns in the Valley following a serious outbreak of anti-India violence.
Most of the aam-janta i interact with ( non BR jingoes) seem to feel that the KMs are just a piece of lazy @$$es who should be given the valley and allowed to break away and do whatever they want to avoid draining our tax money... I would assume that this thought process is slowly gaining ground everywhere due to the constant DDM coverage of how badly KMs want "Azadi" day in and day out.. Atleast in 89, we didnt have a DDM to shape public opinion against India. Now we do!!

The Ind.Exp.'s headline on Sunday, about the UPA prevaricating was savage. It could've read "Singh fiddling while Kashmir burns" instead and it wouldn't be far from the truth. The BJP is perhaps right when it says that the current dispensation is clueless as to how to resolve the Kashmir situ.Frontline in its latest issue has a Q about how MMS has prevaricated for 40+ months decisions taken about J&K.Omar has little credibility if any and matters have truly got out of hand. The first step to be taken is to clearly send the message that violence ,especially attscks against security forces and govt. buildings will be met with whatever force is neccessary to stop such attacks, even "shoot to kill".Terrorist leaders and those openly calling for such protests and attacks should be arrested .What many have forgotten is that in the N-East,there has also been a long standing request for removal of the Army's SP Act and any knee-jerk decision on J&K will have ramifications in that region too.If at all the GOI wishes to partially remove the SP act,it has to insist that if violence returns the act will return in full measure.

Regardless of firefighting right now, what should also happen is moving larger numbers of troops into J&K to meet future challenges, building of permanent new strategic "forts" and even the deportation of those Kashmiri leaders who perpetrate violence from the state and incarceration of those guilty of major acts of violence with stiff prison terms and confiscation of their property. The "iron fist in the velvet glove" is what the Kashmiris need to understand.WE must also ram it down the throats of the international busybodies and their stooges in India that resettlement of the Kashmiri Pandits and their families is a non-negotaible essential, which the GOI will do at will if need be.

If some Kashmiris truly want "Azadi",why then don't they cross the border into POK and enjoy the hospitality of that entity? The GOI can make it very clear to all those who want to go to Pak/POK that they're very welcome to do so.
