What is happening with the boxers today. Will boxers again flatter to deceive?. During Olympics also we had a lot of them reaching quaters and then loosing out. We needs golds here. Hopefully we can snatch some gold here from boxing

re boxers: maybe something in the training routine? was just reading about the rugby sevens training, they have been experimenting with various things to sustain high performance over a sustained period

the security angle is interesting, london2012 will be a prime target. not just for the paquis, but for their a-rab birathers as well. will be interesting to see how the uk police cope

add to that (and include for Glasgow CWG)...

(already counted islamist terror and unexploded ordinance)

2. mad cow disease
3. mrsa superbugs
4. irish terrorists
5. anarchist protestors
6. hooded criminal muggers and thiefs
7. football hooligans
8. drunken aussie and south african white thugs all over london
9. far right fascist hooligans
10. swine flu
11. volcanic ash
12. transport system paralysed by strikes
13. corrupt and criminal nexus between politicians and russian oligarchs
14. influx of human trafficked east european women for escort services
15. massive road works and traffic jams
16. flooding from excessive rainfall and rivers
17. glasgow sectarian violence between protestants and catholics
18. hotels with small rooms and unhelpful staff
19. protests from oppressed islamists
20. insurgent and seccessionist movements in ireland, scotland, cornwall, and yorkshire

you see, the UQ is quite a dangerous and unstable place, we should think twice before the games are hosted there

In boxing we are lacking in technique and endurance where N. Ireland boxers seems to be doing very well and winning two semi-finals.

haroon khan of bradfordistan (overlooked by england selectors) and younger brother of amir khan (the boxer) is on his way to fight suranjoy mayengbam shortly. haroon is ofcourse fighting for paquistan, therefore i sincerely hope that suranjoy shows him a doubly good time

Vijender out due to some incompetent refereeing and giving 4 free points to the cheating England opponent.

18:45 Oh, another warning! And Anthony wins on warning points alone. A disappointing exit for Vijender Singh.

18:43: Into the third round and Vijender wins two more points. A quick left jab and right hook catches Anthony off guard. But the Englishman is rising to the challenge, attacking with a strong guard. Two points for Anthony because Vijender seems to be clinching his opponent. The commentators say Vijender clinched no more than Anthony did.

21. Broken NHS.

Why should we not put pressure on the incompetent jury and get the decision reversed?

Too much of politics in these games.

Krishna Poonia wins India's first gold in athletics
India today created history by breaking the 52-year-old Commonwealth Games gold medal jinx with Krishna Poonia winning the yellow metal in women's discus throw to become the first woman from the country to win a Commowealth Games gold here today.

India swept the event with Harwant Kaur and national record holder Seema Antil also winning the silver and bronze respectively.

Poonia's gold, which she won by throwing the discus to 61.51m, was the first gold after 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh's 440 yard race gold in the 1958 edition of the Games in Cardiff, Wales.

Harwant came up with an effort of 60.61m, a tad below her season's best of 60.66m, while national record holder Seema Antil threw the discus to a distance of 58.46m.

Vijender is saying, the warnings were unfair and harsh and It's a joke that somebody has won by scoring points just out of warnings. Also, he is not too hopeful on appeal outcome.

Call me defeatist but it is not difficult for countries like Canada,Aus,NZ,England,Kenya,Paki,Bangladesh to gang up against India.India is not part of Islamic,East Asia,Latin America or Europe. In cricket, our money power is ensuring us a fair deal.

How to ensure Vijender saga is not repeated or was this just a 'one-off' incident?

given our demonstrated improvement in martial sports (as singha coined it), in the future - we may improve in rugby sevens, and possibly even rugby

as if on queue

former england rugby captain just now on BBC live
17:31 Rugby 7s Former England rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio:
"I think the Games have been fantastic - I've been over here for a week and I didn't know what all the fuss is about, sport is taking centre stage. After the defeat in the hockey, we got one back on Australia in the sevens and evened it up. There are some powerful teams left but England have got every chance."

for rugby kind of bullish sports, the pacific islanders used to have the best natural physique - years of open ocean swimming, canoeing and a diet rich in pig meat and seafood! but small population and financial issues gates their progress. these are people who were making 2-3 week open ocean voyages in low slung tree trunk sailing canoes over 1200 yrs ago....takes serious balls to do that. the kind of people who landed and lived in easter island after 3000km journey.

Apparently Sania Mirza motorham lost... and at the press conference blamed mosquitoes on the pitch.

Look like she is taking her hubby seriously in the wrong departments of Pakiness.
