Reminds me of the excellent infiltration and intel the FBI had on the KKK. Come to think of it. These islamists are very similar to the KKK.

In a highly segregated country, with a ruthless, police-state like approach to law & order, its a piece of cake to penetrate the Islamists. The debate in US is whether all Muslims are terrorits or not, and when it comes to even the slightest hint of deviant tendencies in a Muslim, even that difference of opinion will disappear. And don't forget, there are always TSP RAPE like entities who for the right price will sell their moms too, only thing they need to do their duty loyally would be a free hand towards helping TSP's goals visa vi India. Recall Headley?

Religious groups vow to resist ‘govt move’
LAHORE: Religious leaders belonging to various schools of thought pledged here on Thursday to jointly resist a reported move to send a Christian blasphemy convict abroad.
They decided to take along other segments of society to build a public campaign against the government’s plan to amend the blasphemy law.
Briefing the media after a meeting of religious parties under the banner of Tehrik Hurmat-i-Rasool, the leaders said they would use their influence both within and outside the parliament to block the move to send Aasia abroad. So they prefer to murder a mother of 4 instead.

They said the president had no legal authority to pardon blasphemy convicts. They said Muslim rulers should boycott European markets and their products because they were supporting the people involved in blasphemy. On one hand they are begging Europe to give them trade concession by reducing tarriffs and give more aid and on the other hand they want to boycott European goods. There should be a quid pro quo from Europe. They asked the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer’s comments relating to the Aasia case and restrain the government from sending her abroad.

They said they feared that more people would tend to commit blasphemy to go abroad if Aasia’s departure was not blocked.

They announced that they would observe Friday (today) as a protest day, stage demonstrations and hold rallies across the country to press the government to execute Aasia in line with the verdict of a lower court.

The religious leaders criticised the non-government organisations issuing statements against the blasphemy law and vowed to foil all attempts for repeal or amendments to the law.

They alleged that Minorities Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti was doing propaganda that Aasia’s family was facing life threats. They said Bhatti had been doing propaganda abroad against similar issues, making Pakistan suffer economically.Madrassa logic still manages to suprise me after all these years.

They criticised Taseer for working to seek presidential pardon for a blasphemy convict and doing nothing for hundreds of Pakistanis facing capital punishment. The governor, they said, was ignoring the plight of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
Sunni Ittehad Council warns of anarchy if Aasia pardoned
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s most influential Sunni Muslim alliance urged the government Friday not to pardon a Christian mother sentenced to death for blasphemy, warning that it would lead to nationwide anarchy.
Politicians and conservative clerics are at loggerheads on whether President Asif Ali Zardari should pardon Aasia Bibi, a mother of five sentenced to hang for defaming Prophet Mohammad under blasphemy laws.
While a growing number of moderate politicians have backed calls for clemency for Aasia, religious conservatives have organised a rival campaign.
“The pardon would lead to anarchy in the country,” the head of Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Fazal Kareem, told AFP.
“Our stand is very clear that this punishment cannot be waived.”

Kareem said that the alliance would lead protests nationwide on Friday against any moves to pardon Aasia.
Aasia was arrested in June 2009 after Muslim women labourers refused to drink from a bowl of water she was asked to fetch while out working in the fields.
Days later, the women complained that she made derogatory remarks about the Prophet Mohammed. Aasia was set upon by a mob, arrested by police and sentenced on November 8.

Something is deeply wrong in Pakistan
34,000 women paramedics go missing after Pakistan floods
IANS, Nov 27, 2010, 11.28am IST
ISLAMABAD: According to the UN, around 34,000 women paramedical workers have gone missing from the flood affected districts of Pakistan, a media report said on Saturday.

Noted social activist Tahira Abdullah said the mindboggling disclosure in the UN report has so far failed to have an impact on the government, The NewsInternational reported.

"Even the provincial governments are silent on this report, which should have been enough to shake the entire set-up," she said.

Abdullah asked the government to take a roll-call, so it could be confirmed that all the paramedical workers were safe.

"They (the government) tried to play down the matter and said that there actually is exaggeration in the report. According to their statistics, only 10,000 have gone missing during the floods," she said.

The floods that started in July have killed around 1,700 people and affected more than 20 million. Overall economic loss has been estimated at around $9.5 billion.

Distress over Pakistan floods runs deep
26 Nov 2010 10:00:01 GMT
Source: Oxfam GB - UK

At a camp in Sindh, Pakistan, the physical, psychological and financial distress caused by Pakistan’s worst flooding in living memory is clear to see. Jane Beesley is there to find out how recent cash grants from Oxfam are helping people cope.
I have just met a young boy who spent 9 hours in the flood - he’s not spoken since.

Sabzi Mandi camp.

I’m at Sabzi Mandi Camp in Hyderabad in Sindh, originally a vegetable market now filled with tents and people who are unable to go home because their villages remain under water. The boy stands close to his father and as his father moves around the boy mirrors him but makes no eye contact with anyone - it’s like he’s sleepwalking. His father tells me that it could be six to twelve months before his son recovers - he shows me a note from a psychiatrist supporting this.
Stress and worry
I’m here following up on what people did with a cash grant Oxfam distributed through local partner BHS (Bhandar Sangat) a few weeks ago. Several people I spoke to have spent a lot of the money on similar health care for their children.

Khalil Ahmed

Khalil Ahmed’s 16 year old son is also deeply affected, When the flood came he was out with the livestock…”we heard people shouting ‘Water is coming. Water is coming. Run. Run.’ All three buffalos he was with were washed away. Now he just sits in the tent staring at nothing. We don’t know what we can do. He is our oldest son.” The stress and worry is deeply etched on their faces.
Mohbat Khatoon (below) tells me she spent most of her money on treatment for her 15 year old daughter who wakes up crying in the night and in desperation tries to leave their tent. Worried about her daughter’s safety Mohbat Khatoon used more of the money on transport so her daughter could go and stay with an aunt so she could be with people she knew.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), “The revised Pakistan Floods Emergency Response Plan (FERP) envisages activities costing US$1.93 billion over a one-year timeframe.”

So far, around $867.4 million (44.8 percent of requirements) has been contributed, and a further $5.9 million has been pledged, leaving a considerable gap.

Everything in Poakland revolves around the Book., please dont forget to make distinction between Islamic and Kuffar Aid. The help provided by Non Muslim countries , charties etc must be qualified with distinctive Kuffar mark I.e Kuffar Japanese Aid, Kuffar American or EU aid etc.

Aasia and Aafia, strange irony of similar names indeed. Pakis would absolutely love to to publicly lynch the non-Muslim woman if they get a chance. Aafia on the other hand, is the daughter of the nation.

Is it kosher in an Islamic Republic, self-proclaimed haven for the Muslims of the Indian Sub-Continent and the world first Ideological Muslim Sstate to let loose the riot Police on a group of Muslim Clerics? Or is it that Muslims of the Sunni sect following the Barelvi / Brelvi school of Islamic jurisprudence are somehow not pious enough to be accorded the respect due to the Ulema in the Land of the Pure?

Ulema's march blocked

And just now, I was about to post this article from the NY Times
Pakistani Sunni Muslims Rally Against Terrorism
Looks like we're talking about the same rally then. NY Times is only reporting that the rally was to protest attacks on Sufis. They said nothing about price hikes or unemployment.

So rally has been blocked even before it started.

Have the pakis got their own Diego Garcia??

QUETTA:

Fishermen reported on Friday the emergence of a mud volcano three kilometers off Balochistan’s coast overlooking the Hingol area, about 15o kilometres from the port town of Ormara.

According to local fishermen, a three-kilometre wide and 300-feet high island of mud sludge emerged off the coast. This area administratively falls under the jurisdiction of the Lasbela district.

A number of fishermen arrived there and hoisted flags while the others tried to salvage some fishing vessels which were trapped in the newly-emerged island.

They said that this kind of landmass had first emerged in 2004 and the Maritime Security Agency had taken control of it. However, the island disappeared after three months because of certain geographical changes.

According to locals, the island was three-kilometre-long island was called ‘Peer Ghaib’ after it disappeared. A mud volcano is formed when fluidised soft mud is expelled at high rates.

There are several clusters of mud volcanoes in Balochistan, mostly near Hingol, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara and elsewhere in Lasbela district.

India has been a saviour for Musharraf in Agra in c. 2001. He was being treated as an untouchable by the world community till then and Agra gave him a lifeline. He crowned himself as the President and the recognition by India paved the way for better days for him.

He is coming to India once again to resurrect himself in Pakistan. He will say things here that will please the Pakistanis back home. Whatever he says in Chatham House or Brookings does not cut any ice with Pakistani masses whereas his speeches in India will. Nothing would delight a Pakistani more than a mujahid talking tough about India on Indian soil.

He has come here several times before and indulged in the same rhetoric. We can invite him if we are determined to humiliate him, like that Deobandi cleric did last time at the India Today conclave. His itinerary includes visiting all the four metros to spread disinformation and there are enough gullible people in India to swallow his lies. We should be wary of inviting him now.

SS and others,

Form the report is not clear if the visit is taking place due to an official invite from the GOI or not. IF it a privately organised visit. Then I see no harm in entertaining him. Blocking the visit will actualy give him more legitmacy then he deserves. IMO onlee.

Christians flee Karachi over threats
Several Christian families in Pakistani city of Karachi have fled their homes while many have sent their women to safer places after a Christian boy eloped with a Muslim girl, causing tension in their neighbourhood , a media report said.

The situation in Karachi's Saeedabad area has become tense after an 18-year-old Muslim girl eloped with a 20-yearold Christian boy last week, The News International reported. The couple fled to Faisalabad, where the boy converted to Islam and married the girl.

Following the incident, the girl's family and activists of a political party allegedly threatened the Christian community of dire consequences if the girl did not return home. The girl's family also stoned the locality's church, forced a local school to shut down and reportedly forced the Christian people to migrate from the area.
William Sattar, a social activist , alleged that police were picking up boys from the area and beating them up.

Saeedabad police station station house officer Nasir Sami said police are doing all they could to control the law and order situation.
Another blasphemy case in the making.

It is Indian soil. GoI determines which foreigner gets a visa for India. It is not his fundamental right to be allowed in.

If allowed in, he should be charged for his crimes against India.

Rajaesh,

The issue is not his right or tha lack of it. By denying him a visa we will have shown that we are uncomfortable of his existance. Moreover, If he is trying to get back in the game. Then what better way then having him do it from India.

By letting him in a message is given by the GOI that it is not embarresed or worried by him and his existence.

WRT, the crimes against India, the GOI will have to figure out if he is to be prosecuted or not. IIRC, the father of Lt Kalia was exploring avanues to prosecute Mush for war crimes. Don't know how sucessful that effort was.

We should learn to discriminate good and bad even in a democracy. Letting someone crap all over you in the name of democracy (specially when the person concerned himself does not believe in it or fight for it) is not right.

Look at what sussana and geelani did in Delhi and quickly followed by an emboldened mirwaiz who rightfully and deservedly got thrashed.

Whose democracy did these ugly incidents serve??

We should be mindful of our national dignity and keep the garbage out. Philosophy and practice are always removed and the wise learn to manage the difference.

SS sir I agree. This is bit complicated. The question is how much possibility and probability mush has to resurrect himself, or is this just to keep him in limelight.
The Nation, which I assumed, is sponsored by PA does take digs at him and (Holbrooke dismisses chances of Musharraf comeback) looks like unkil doesnt want him either.
There is something strange about Kiyani business that I fail to understand. He does not attract media focus, means he is not insecured. By 26/11 he has sent his message to India, which IMHO had shaken up the world more than the Kargil. He has recently got himself 3 years extension. Whats the deal between him and US? Just stay there till US pulls out and then bye bye?? Anyway, coming back to the point, in any case that rules out Mush coming back at least for next 3 years. Then why does he want to come to India?

Musharraf fancies his chances greatly, whatever may be the probability that you and I may give for his return to power. In the end, his evaluation of his own chances is what matters about his intention to visit India and tour all over the country.

Today, Pakistan is in a flux (when has it not been ?). The PPP is discredited and hemmed in from all sides. The PML-N is unwilling to shoulder the responsibility of running the government and rightly so because the situation is so bad and unrecoverable that anybody running the Government would be discredited by the people. The PML-N therefore wants the PPP to carry the cross. The PA cannot (and is also unwilling to) come back to power. In this situation, Musharraf's thinking is that he or his new party, APML, will be able to capture power with the assistance of his old friends, Chaudhry Shujaat, and also with the help of turncoats in PPP & PML-N. The PA will support Musharraf because it has no ill will towards him. After all, it gave Musharraf a formal ceremonial send off when he decided to quit Presidency. Kiyani was Musharraf's confidante and handpicked for the ISI job, for conducting political parleys with Ms. BB and then as the COAS. Musharraf has always spoken in glowing terms about Kiyani and the latter has never said an adverse thing about his ex-boss either. There is no case pending against Musharraf in any court of law in Pakistan. After more than two years in power, the PPP has not brought a single case against Musharraf. They have even given him a clean chit in the Benazir assassination case. Musharraf therefore may be justified in thinking that he has a good chance of resuming power.

I say let him come here and talk "stuff" out of his musharraf but there should be enough balls in our people to counteract him with credible info about his crimes against India. Just imagine if GOI can pull this off covertly in a press conference where international media is present and we beat his musharraf black and blue !

Musharraf is unimportant. Old hag. Old rag. There is absolutely no need to give him bhav. Let's just forget him.

Just when you thought that Rehman chacha couldn't get more nutty, here's a new one from him:

Transparency won’t be allowed to work: Malik
Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) is a detective agency and its officials are bribing to extract information, and that a legal action will be initiated against its officials for giving bribe and the organisation will not be allowed to work in Pakistan.
He said he had directed the FIA DG to hold talks with TI president and apprised him of the international laws.
And, the light at the end of tunnel:

'Pak to lose foreign funding if it severs links with Transparency International'

Several years ago, during Gulf war I recall Saddam Hussien challenged Bush Sr & Margaret Thatcher to a debate on the history of the region, Iraq's claim over Kuwait, US/UK policies etc. And believe me, at that time, there was a lot of support by far left nut cases in US to allow such a debate and expose US imperialism. US/UK elites dimissed that with contempt and instead bombed the living crap out of him. The critics were silenced and rest is history.

This is similar to India inviting a terrorit like Mush. He will come and puke his bilge, humiliate India to the cheers from the Abduls back home (and many in India like the ARoys etc). Not only that, he will push all the sensitive buttons, Gujarat, Dalits, and even on Kashmir, he will find a lot of support in India. Do we really wants that? Bakara will host a debate on what Mush has to say with a pre-ponderance of guests actually supporting the Mush POV. When it comes to self flagellation, India doesn't have any dearth of baravado. (I myself am guilty of that, but at least I won't do that in front of a Paki terrorist :-)).

India cannot bomb TSP like US/UK do to their nemesises, but at least the honorable thing to do is to ignore a smuck like Mush and let him stew. Why resurrect a terrorist by inviting him to India?
