GOPers have gone crazy. But then Radicals are taking over the Democrat party. None of the old guard have the moral authority after destroying internal democracy when they interfered and made HiC the nominee. They went after Trump with a vengeance impeaching him twice etc. Now the shoe is on the other foot.

their ask on agriculture, dairy, pharma, and unhindered access to the markets, especially in the hinterland will cause widespread social upheaval which even Modi ji may not be able to manage.

The effects may peak just in time to scupper the next gen elections, and will either result in a politically and geopolitically defanged India with a lame duck PM, at the beck and call of the gora deep state

What China says regarding trade deal

https://www.mofcom.gov.cn/syxwfb/art/20 ... 79e47.html
The Ministry of Commerce spokesperson answered questions from reporters on the China-U.S. London Framework
A reporter asked: Recently, relevant US officials and media said that China and the US have reached a supplementary understanding on the framework for implementing the Geneva Consensus. China will speed up the export of rare earths to the US, and the US will cancel relevant restrictive measures against China accordingly. What is the Ministry of Commerce's comment on this?

A: Guided by the consensus reached by the leaders of China and the United States, the economic and trade teams of the two sides held economic and trade talks in London from June 9 to 10, and reached a consensus in principle on the framework for implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state on June 5 and consolidating the results of the Geneva economic and trade talks. After the London talks, the teams of China and the United States maintained close communication. Recently, with approval, the two sides further confirmed the details of the framework. China will review and approve the export applications of controlled items that meet the conditions in accordance with the law. The United States will cancel a series of restrictive measures taken against China accordingly. It is hoped that the United States and China will meet each other halfway, follow the important consensus and requirements reached by the two heads of state on June 5, further play the role of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, continuously enhance consensus, reduce misunderstandings, strengthen cooperation, and jointly promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations.

From somewhere other than the horse’s mouth
“ President Trump said Thursday that the US and China have "signed" a trade deal, cementing months-long negotiations. The deal builds on meetings in Geneva between representatives of both nations and implements measures previously agreed upon.

“We just signed with China yesterday,” Trump said during remarks at the White House, without offering specifics. A White House official later clarified that both nations had agreed to a framework to implement the Geneva truce first negotiated in May.

In that truce, the US and China agreed to a 90-day reduction in tariffs while working toward a formal deal. Talks had stalled over issues such as US export controls and China’s rare earth exports.”
Via:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/live/tru ... 19758.html

In summary, the US and China have agreed to a framework within which to negotiate, and part of that is to lift export restrictions such as some semiconductors, rare earths, and even ethane, student visa restrictions and such.

Technically a trade deal, yes. But not what you think. People who rely on the horse’s mouth should instead go by the contingent that follows the horse, cleaning up his droppings.

These speculative droppings from unnamed officials don't mean a thing, we need to wait for the final read out of the agreement between US and China. After the complete mess of the proverbial Augean Stables of the dumbocrats (with Autopen bakshish) wrt China and trade, DJT is setting a new direction for China. Gone are all the devious means china used to flood the marketplace with their products, relabelled as made in "mexico, vietnam, cambodia, thailand, malaysia, etc.". The rare earth thing is the crux of the deal. China is facing a huge economic crisis and any deal with the US will stabilize their tottering economy. Chinese investments in Pak, Iran and Afghanistan are as good as written off for good.

Yes, that is very clear. India has to navigate this tricky test and emerge relatively unscathed. There are some compelling issues which have to be managed by India. India might be forced to buy some goods from US including Oil, defence equipment. Things like dairy products and other food items (recently RFK Jr. is pushing for replacing seed oil with beef tallow fat, yikes) and things like that are big road blocks. Maybe India can resell them to China as is no profit. The negotiators have to do some give and take. The Deep state has no choice other than India to relocate stuff from China. It is the SoreAss faction of the deep state that is stopping the transition to India. The Euros have already realized the choice, Germany is relocating defence manufacture in India, France is already there and UK there is FTA, Italy is on board too. The Wall Street and US MNCs and MICs are ready to pile onto India for their manufacture. This trend is what gives India some advantage over the long term.

He also said he wants to have no trade barriers to US entry into India. That will be a big no from Indian side, rightly so, if it involves agri products. Our agri workers will be ground out of existence. China is dumping cheap consumer soft plastic and even metal parts. Same will happen with US dumping grain and dairy (powdered milk etc.) and possibly cheese and factory farmed meat.

He has gone bonkers. India has to distance themselves from the US slowly. Somebody like Trump coming back in 2028 is next to impossible. The hope is that Dems are not going to put up somebody like AOC as their candidate. If they do, then JD becomes a very attractive for left leaning independents who are the swing vote. There are a sizeable number of them in most swing states. India should not enter into any agreement that cannot be reversed in oh about 4 years.

Just like shittistan, we also can do machiavellian taquia.

There is no "trade deal" signed with either China or India.

About China - there seems too much disinformation that is regurgitated uncritically here along with hallucinations.

This article summarizes the events up until June 10: https://www.axios.com/2025/06/11/us-china-trade-tariffs

In summary: In May US and China had agreed to a "framework" for negotiation based on the 90-day "deadline". Later this got derailed because US targeted Chinese students for visa cancellations and China stopped exporting rare earths. Then on June 10 they agreed in principle to resume rare earths (shortage was starting to cripple many sectors of the US economy) in exchange for dropping the visa threats.

Now, the "deal" being touted this week is just the formal signature on the "rare earths and visas" understanding. This allows the May negotiation to continue towards a trade deal.

Its not a bump, things have been deadlocked for weeks now with little progress, as the article itself says. Also in the same article:
"The ball is now in the US court. India is not for any win-lose trade partnership ," said Ram Singh, head of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, a government funded think-tank.

Even in a worst-case scenario, a third official said, India could absorb the impact of reciprocal tariffs, citing its continued tariff advantage over competitors like Vietnam and China.
I think that either the US will drop its demands and break the deadlock, or Bharat will go its own way with other partners. Lattu and Basant spend a lot of time spinning disadvantaged negotiations as major "victories/deals" but do not seem to be doing any real work.

Questions for those who follow this closely and who have a better memory than me:

1. Is it true that India has made it amply clear to the US that strategic cooperation will not come at the cost of India-Russia relations?

2. During the Biden administration and during these first few months of the Trump administration have there been any unusual ups and downs in the US-Pakistan relationship?

3. At any time has the US misled India to think that increased US-India strategic cooperation will be accompanied with a downgrade of US-Pakistan relations?

Thanks in advance! 🙏🏾

The recent shooting incidents targeting a Hare Krishna temple in Utah are finally beginning to receive the serious attention they warrant. According to authorities, this was not a random act — it is being investigated as a potential hate crime motivated by anti-Hindu sentiment.

What’s deeply troubling is that even in the face of such violence, there remain fringe voices even within the Hindu community who deny that Hinduphobia exists. That denial only makes our communities more vulnerable.

FWIW: Latest on the India–U.S. trade deal

Deadline approaching: The Trump administration’s 90-day suspension of reciprocal tariffs is set to lapse on July 9, 2025; if no agreement is struck, India’s tariff exemption could be pulled, reinstating duty rates around 26–27%

Sticking points:

Agriculture and dairy: India is firm against opening its sensitive farm and dairy sectors to U.S. imports, especially GM products; U.S. is pushing for broader access across corn, soy, wheat, dairy, fruits, nuts

GM certification compromise: India is reportedly considering a “self‑certification” mechanism for GM-free goods to ease trade without compromising farmer protections

Watching:
- July 4–6: A likely window for signing the interim pact in Washington.
- July 9: The tariff pause deadline—if no deal is confirmed by then, reciprocal tariffs will resume.
- Post-deal outlook: Expect further talks into autumn on industrial, agricultural, and non-tariff barriers to build a modern, comprehensive trade framework.

It seems an interim/limited agreement is imminent, similar to the China-US one. Again, NOT a full trade agreement.

According to this report (and other recent ones), agro and dairy - as expected - are off the table, despite Lattu's insensitive fantasies/spins. However, it seems lower tariffs on GM animal feed may be allowed (assuming there are no animal byproduct ingredients).

One more point. Of late, I have been hearing that temples are considering fencing and posting security guards. I see this only with mosques right now. Following Mohammadan example is a bad idea. We don't preach hate in our temples. Our temples doors should be open to all. Same is true with Synogogues, Bah'ai, and churches ofc. What are we afraid of? Majority of gurudwaras are also open to all comers.

Remember the claim that US and China have a trade deal. In this YT by Lei she talks about the hidden details on the US - China trade deal. This has implications for India, since the US under DJT set out to isolate China in terms of trade. The next choice ostensibly was to bolster India and get manufacturing going within India. But, but.. the deep state strikes once again. Emperor has been sidelined and the deal was made without him. Lei is claiming some insider economists in China has access to some details of the deal, so take it for what it is worth.

President Trump announced that a trade agreement with China has been signed and claimed the deal would begin to “open up” China. The strange part? We haven’t heard any details—except that it supposedly addresses rare earth disputes. On the Chinese side, it’s total radio silence. What kind of deal did the U.S. sign with China? And why are the details so tightly guarded? The answer lies in the CCP’s power transition. Xi Jinping wasn’t involved in the deal.. and revealing the terms would expose his biggest secret.

1. What the U.S. has said about the trade deal
2. What a Chinese insider revealed
3. Xi Jinping’s reaction—and why it matters

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uvVa6lQiJw

Major points: Deal has been kept vague, Not from American perspective but mainly due to China and Emperor. However things like Rare earths will not be used as political football. American Companies like Meta, Google, Youtube etc will be allowed in exchange for TikTok. American companies will be allowed to list on markets in China similar to how Chinese companies list on wall street. What this means is that American companies in Banking, Telecom, Energy, etc can play in China. DJT hinted on opening up China and that is exactly what is in the deal. However, Chinese goods to US is subject to 20% tariffs not the 55%, etc. Tis back to full entanglement with China by the US. BTW US signed a trade deal with Vietnam, 20% tariff.
