Commander: Jundollah Responsible for Hostage-Taking in Southeastern Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Saturday that the armed men who took six people hostage in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan several days ago were remnants of the Jundollah terrorist group.
....
The Sunni and Shiite populated Sistan and Balouchestan province in southeastern Iran has been the scene of several terrorist attacks by the Jundollah terrorist group, headed by Abdolmalek Rigi.
As regards IRGC's role in the rescue operation, Pakpour stated that forces of the IRGC Ground Force's Qods Base freed the hostages, including five soldiers and a bank employee, after complicated intelligence operations and a successful ambush.
One the six hostages and a hostage-taker were killed in the rescue operation, the commander added.
Armed men stopped a bus near the town of Sarbaz and took six people hostage among them five air force soldiers and a bank employee on Thursday.
The Pakistan-based terrorist Jundollah group has already claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has carried out mass murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, acts of sabotage and bombings. They have targeted civilians and government officials as well as all ranks of Iran's military.
In one of the worst cases, his group killed 22 citizens and abducted 7 more in Tasouki region on a road linking the southeastern city of Zahedan to another provincial town.
In 2007, Jundollah kidnapped 30 people in the southeastern Sistan and Balouchestan province. They were freed during a Pakistani police operation after abductors took them to the country.
In another crime in October, the Pakistan-based terrorist Jundollah group, closely affiliated with the notorious al-Qaeda organization, claimed responsibility for a deadly attack in the Sistan and Balouchestan province which killed 42 people among them a group of senior military commanders, including Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Nourali Shoushtari.
Also the terrorist group in a recent crime claimed responsibility for the two bomb blasts in front of the Zahedan Grand Mosque in July which killed at least 27 people and injured over 270 more.
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the leader of a transnational gang involved in producing fake foreign currencies and recovered 53,500 fake Indian rupees from his possession at Banasree in city's Rampura on Tuesday night.
The detectives also traced the gang's involvement in financing a militant organisation in Bangladesh. ...
....
During preliminary interrogation arrestee Solaiman Majumder, 33, told the detectives the forged notes were produced in Pakistan and were brought into the country with the help a foreign detective organisation.
A foreign airline was used to bring the fake currencies to Bangladesh from Pakistan where they were circulated in the local market as well as in Nepal.
He said they also produced fake US dollars as well as Indian currencies.
KATHMANDU: Tek Bahadur Karki, who was arrested in possession of fake India currency notes, today told investigating officials that a Pakistan-based kingpin by the name of Surendra, had used him as a carrier to smuggle the fake notes to Nepal before pushing them into India via the porous border along the two countries.
Karki was arrested yesterday with fake Indian currency notes worth IRs 4,091,000 on Sinamangal Road after he managed to evade security officials at Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival from Pakistan via Bangkok. The notes were in denomination of Rs 1,000.
A special squad of Nepal Police Headquarters and Metropolitan Police Sector, Gaushala, had handed him along with his six associates who had come to receive him to Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka, for further investigation. “Surendra lured me into plotting to smuggle the counterfeit currency notes to Nepal with a promise of Rs 30,000,” An official quoted Karki, who hailed from Rolpa, as saying. “I was supposed to hand over the fake Indian currency notes to Mohammad Zubair in Kathmandu”. Zubair is said to be a Pakistani national.
An employee at Pakistan's state-run Islamic advisory body has been detained for allegedly playing an important role in assisting the failed New York Times Square car bomber, an intelligence officer said Thursday.
The suspect accompanied Faisal Shahzad, the Pakistan-American bomber, to Pakistan's northwest to meet militant leaders, said the officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the intelligence agency does not permit its operatives to be named in the media.
The suspect, identified as Faisal Abbasi, was with Shahzad throughout his time in Pakistan, the officer said.
He said Abbasi worked for the government's Council of Islamic Ideology, which advises on Islamic affairs.

Monday October 4, 2010:
There is a popular concept that the root of islamic terror in the modern world lies in the fascist and litteral interpretation of Islam's holy books - the Koran and the Hadiths, by people often devoid of even the basic education that people in the civilized world receive at elementary school level. This is however not a complete representation of the truth. Otherwise, there would be no reason to explain how scientists, doctors, and lawyers are also involved in the preparation and execution of terrorist campaigns throughout the world.
The fact of the matter is that Islamic fundamentalism is nothing new, albeit in the middle ages, it was mainly people of no formal education (feudal warlords, berbers, corsairs etc) who engaged in worldwide conquest in the name of Islam, i.e. Jihad. Well, they were stopped by various people - by the mercenary forces at the gates of Vienna, by the Hospitalier Knights in Malta, by the Rajputs, Marathas and Sikhs in South Asia, by the Chinese, by the Russians in the Caucasus and all those non-descript people who refused to be subdued by the fascist ideologies promulgated under the Islamic Caliphate. If it was not for these people, our world today would have been a desolate world with rampant child abuse, women battering, mercy killings, slave trading and so on and so forth.
However, the present world is a different story. The same illiterate Islamic populace cannot wage wars like they used to in the past, simply because the world is more complex than a flat flying carpet and the civilized nations have much better defence logistics in place to deal with a horde of barbarians. The game has changed. Which is why Islamic extremism needs new blood, military muscle and dollars to subdue the world.
As far as the dollars are concerned, no problem. Saudi Arabia is the motherland of all terro-dollars that can be used to finance the global Jihad. But the main problem is this: Arabia has been, and still is a third world country with a highly undecuated population. Arabs are not known for their work ethic, their intelligence or their ingenuity. In fact, most of the greatest works produced during the Islamic "Golden Age" were by Persians (who are a world apart from Arabs, and who were forcefully converted to Islam through coercion, dhimmitude, genocide, rapes and enslavement). To this day, Arabland is still the same except for the oil. So they have money, but nothing much else.
Where in the world would the Arabs be able to find the new blood, the military muscle required to help them in "Ghazwa-E-Duniya" (world islamic conquest)? Well, it would certainly have to be from an Arab-loving country. That country as we know it is Pakistan. Formed from the remnants of the British Colonization of India, Pakistan was created on the sole basis of religion. The people themselves are descendants of the Hindus from the great Indus Valley civilization, whose ancestors were forcefully converted (just like the Persians - refer above) to Islam by invading arab/turk armies. They are exactly similar to their brethrens in Northern India, speak the same language, but differ in religion and live with a very tangible inferiority complex. They advocate themselves as descendants of the great Arab rulers (who are they kidding? they are Indians, except for the experiment that went hay-wire: Pakistan) and love Arabs to the point of obsession. They were poor, as the British did not leave much for the subcontinent and needed to assert their identity and islamic ideals, and for this they needed - yes you guessed it right - dollars.
The royals of Saudi Arabia saw in experimental Pakistan the opportunity of a lifetime, or of several lifetimes starting from the Islamic Caliphate's decline beginning from the siege of Vienna. Pakistan was the world's largest non-arab muslim population in the world and had unconditional love for the Arabs. The rest is history. Terro Dollars starting flowing into Pakistan for a specific reason: Pakistan represented the best hope for the muslim world to restart global Jihad. For once, they were not Arabs; they hailed from an Indian civilization that was ingenious, hard working and above all easy to manipulate. The Arabs invested heavily in the project Pakistan.
The return on investment? Pakistan has the largest number of university level graduates and professionals in the muslim world (that's just because of the sheer size, they still are a shame in terms of percentage of the population). Pakistan got the Islamic world what it always had dreamed of: the Islamic Hydrogen Bomb. Pakistan boasts the highest number of madrassas that teach Wahhabism in the world. Pakistan has the biggest and most potent military of all muslim nations. Pakistan has become the military arm, the sword of the Islamic Caliphate, whose office lies in Riyadh.
With the Pakistan experiment, Saudi Arabia was able to do two things. First, acquire the most prized weapon in the history of mankind, the h-bomb. At the same time, it was able to still get terro dollars from Americans and the rest of the world since for us, Saudi Arabia was nothing but a corrupt monarchy where the royals were bent on making tons of money by selling petroleum to the world. The facade worked well: it was not Saudi Arabia after all who was building the bomb, it was Pakistan. We know better now... 9/11 taught us what those Saudis were really up to.
Indoctrinated with extreme fundamentalism from the Arabs, the Pakistanis soon forgot the secular ideals of Jinnah, the creator of Pakistan and started madrassas at every street corner to teach an army of jihadists the concept of martyrdom in Islam's name so that they can go on to wage global Jihad in India and the rest of the world.
Well, graduation time came for these madrassas. Just like a fungus spreads millions of spores an each one of them turns into another fungus, Pakistan's madrassas have bloomed with a hundreds of thousands of youngsters whose primary objective in life is to die in Allah's name. They fear nothing, they want nothing but total world conversion and dominance. The majority of them are jobless, but a sizeable number are professionals with college degrees who whenever given the chance migrate to the civilized world and act as sleepers ready to be fielded to the battlefield upon signal from Islamabad, or from Riyadh, or from the dude hiding in the caves along the Pak-Afghan border.
It is no surprise that Pakistanis have allowed the Taliban and the dude hiding the caves to operate freely in their country - their country is the haven for religious fanaticism. But global jihad cannot be won solely by war, it has to be won by diplomacy when the adverse forces are too overwhelming to handle, as taught by the prophet. This is the reason why Pakistan became the US ally in the war on terror - another farce just to avoid facing US wrath and to continue receiving billions of dollars in "aid" to finance its activities.
Make no mistake. The epicenter of terrorism in the world is not Iraq, Afghanistan or Iran for that matter. It is Pakistan, which is a direct subject of the Saudis. Remember, Saudi Terro Dollars + Pakistan = Terrorists Factories churning Jihadists by the thousands and unleashing them onto the civilized world!
Former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has admitted that Pakistan had trained underground militant groups to fight in Kashmir, the first such admission by a top leader of the country.
The Detective Branch (DB) of police yesterday claimed to have arrested Pakistan-based militant group Lashker-e-Taiba's coordinator in Bangladesh and two of his Pakistani associates.
The arrestees are LeT's Bangladesh coordinator Khurram alias Mohammad Salem, 42, and his associates Abdul Malek, 31, and Imran, 31. All the three Pakistani nationals were arrested at a hotel in the capital on Saturday.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel yesterday arrested two alleged operatives of Pakistan-based militant outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen from the Airport Railway Station area in the capital.
...
"Malek was coordinating Lashkar activities in Satkhira area in Bangladesh and 24 Parganas in India since 2006," claimed the DG.
Malek in his childhood went to Kolkata where he worked as a labourer. Later he joined LeT in 2000 and moved to Pakistan in 2003, where he had training on arms and militancy.
Returning home in 2003, Malek kept relation with Hizbul Mujahideen leader Abdul Majed Bhat, who was involved in supplying grenades for the August 21 attack on Awami League rally, said Rab.
...
Rab arrested 68 alleged militant operatives, including five foreign nationals, in over nine months spanning from January to October.
Among the arrestees, 25 are from JMB, 10 from Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (Huji) and 33 from other militant organisations, sources at Rab said.

WSJ: Pakistan Urges On TalibanNote the title says 'Pakistan' instead of the usual ISI/spy agency, although the body of the article again sticks to 'ISI prodding militants' angle - very subtle but very important shift.Members of Pakistan's spy agency are pressing Taliban field commanders to fight the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan, some U.S. officials and Afghan militants say, a development that undercuts a key element of the Pentagon's strategy for ending the war.
The explosive accusation is the strongest yet in a series of U.S. criticisms of Pakistan, and shows a deteriorating relationship with an essential ally in the Afghan campaign. The U.S. has provided billions of dollars in military and development aid to Pakistan for its support.
So are they threatening napaks that they will shift to an ISI==Pak Army==PakiNation line wholesale?

Will the ISI operatives indulging in the spot of Jihad Fi Sabilillah conveniently be anointed “Rogue Agents” as was the case for the Mumbai terrorist attack by the US defense and intelligence establishment?

'Hope Is Not a Strategy'
Outgoing Security Advisor Jones Voices Concern on Pakistan
SPIEGEL ONLINE: ……………….. Why is Pakistan still the main breeding ground of terrorism?
Jones: We have been working very closely with the Pakistani government for a long time now. In some cases the Pakistanis have responded quite well. Their operations in the Swat Valley and South Waziristan, for example, were timely and very effective. At the same time, there has been a very steady message that Pakistan needs to do more to stem terrorism, especially when they know where it is and when officials have information about what the terrorists are doing. If the Pakistanis are going to be a partner in the long term, they have to make a commitment that shows the watching world that they are serious about forms of terrorism.
SPIEGEL ONLINE: Should your cooperation with the Pakistani army fail, is there a possibility that Pakistan would become the next military target of the US?
Jones: I am going to take the optimistic view that rational people do rational things and that -- with the help of friends and allies and common goals -- Pakistan will avoid, or hopefully avoid, that unfortunate eventuality. But hope is not a strategy, so we have to be cognizant of the fact that there are things which could happen that could alter the relationship if we are not careful. ………………..

DHAKA | Sat Oct 9, 2010 4:06pm IST
DHAKA (Reuters) - Bangladesh police arrested another foreign militant on Saturday, raising to four the number of activists detained from the Pakistan-based group, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in six days, a senior police officer said.
Explosives and bomb making materials were captured, along with a Bangladeshi accomplish, at a hideout at Tongi, on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.
Yet another Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, this time an explosives expert, and his local aide were arrested by Rab in the city's Uttara early yesterday with a huge amount of explosives and bomb making materials.
It was the first arrest of any LeT bomb expert in the country, according to Commander Mohammad Sohail, Rab's legal and media wing director.
He said the battalion had recovered 30 kilograms of high explosive with the capacity equivalent to trinitrotoluene (TNT) and six bottles of liquid chemical from their possession.
However, it couldn't be learnt whether the Pakistan-based militant outfit is plotting any bomb attack in Bangladesh or neighbouring country.
The LeT man, Wazed Khan alias Zafar alias Salman, 27, is a Pakistani national.
His aide Abu Bakkar Siddique, 49, is a stranded Pakistani and a resident of Turag Housing in the city's Mohammadpur area.
The Rab arrested LeT members first on February 28, said Sohail. So far nine operatives of the internationally banned organisation have been caught by the battalion and of them, four are locals and the rest are Pakistanis.
Male, 11 October: Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed insisted the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba has no presence in his country -- despite the US as well as Indian intelligence bureau confirming otherwise.
President Nasheed’s comments came during his visit to India last week when he was asked about reports that Maldives is witnessing growth of fundamentalist activities with Pakistani links, raising concerns here that the island nation could be used by terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba to attack India.
He insisted that LeT has no presence in Maldives but acknowledged the "serious" issue of emergence of some radical groups whose cadres are being trained in Pakistan, Sify News reported.
The President, however, ruled out the possibility of any terror group using Maldives route to attack India, saying his country had good border control systems in place.
Notwithstanding Nasheed’s comments, a top US military official in March said that LeT is predominately a threat to India, and fast expanding operations to other South Asian countries including the Maldives.
Admiral Robert Willard, Commander of the US Pacific Command in his testimony before the US Senate Armed Services Committee said that that the group is expanding in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
"Right now our concern is the movement of Lashkar-e-Toiba, the terrorist group that emanates from Pakistan that was responsible for the Mumbai attacks in India, and specifically their positioning in Bangladesh and Nepal, the Maldives and Sri Lanka," Willard said in response to a question from Senator George Lemieux.
He said then the US was working "very closely with the Indians" and within to develop the necessary plans to counter LeT and its movement into the Asia-Pacific region.
Asked specifically if the LeT is a regional threat or a threat to India, Willard said as of now Lashkar is predominately a threat to India .
But he added: “We have certainly knowledge of their influence within the region beyond the countries that I just mentioned. The extent of that influence is what we're taking under study.”
Early this year Indian intelligence bureau sources told Indian news portal Rediff.com that LeT has “nearly 1,000 operatives active in the Maldives.”
It said there was no way the group’s operations “can be curbed unless there is very good intelligence sharing with the Maldives.”
“There has been an increase [early this year] in LeT activites in the Maldives, and several persons from [the LeT's] Kerala group have slipped into the country and are busy setting up operations there,” sources claimed.
