Shiv is correct in his analysis of your thought process. We've all been brainwashed in our schools to accept the 'official story'. I too was like you many years ago, upto the Babri incident. As ashamed of being a Hindu as the then leaders of the country, I decided to educate myself. It has taken many years of extensive reading, often becoming the butt of innuendos from family and friends about my 'obsession' with religion. I can say I am better informed now and my thoughts are different. None of us here is an idiot, we are all (very) well educated in our own fields and it shouldn't then be difficult to become more educated, which is what I suggest you do.

For starters, how about you google for the 'sidhpur temple, gujarat' ? If it piques your interest, you may want to go and read about the thousands of other Hndu temples that were demolished or just simply converted to mosques. Hey, if you live in Delhi just go visit Qutb Minar, right next to it is the Kuwattul-islam Mosque, the oldest in the country. Just read what the Archeological survey's plaque outside says.

All we are saying is that before you go making an ass of yourself, please do some reading. Seriously.

"Do not blame religion" is the ONLY fig leaf that groups like the Indian Mujahideen hide behind.

They must not get that. Islam is the problem. Indian Mujahideen are secondary to the tenets of Islam that legally, as per Islamic law, allow the killing of people who are considered to be enemies of Islam.

pakistan i.e. indian mujahideen said Mumbai is next - per TV channels.

headlines today was reporting a ticker that "mastermind behind blasts arrested: delhi police" another was saying 2 suspects picked up.

IBN:

New Delhi: Delhi Police have detained a person and claim he is the mastermind of the serial bomb blasts in Delhi.

Senior police officials are interrogating the person.

Terror outfit Indian Mujahideen had sent an e-mail to media organisations claiming responsibility for the serial bomb blasts in Delhi Saturday evening, but police said they were not sure about the identity of the perpetrators.

The e-mail has been traced to eastern suburbs of Mumbai.

“The Indian Mujahideen has claimed something but we are not very sure about it,” Delhi Police joint commissioner Karnail Singh told reporters.

“Whether its Indian Mujahideen or anyone else, we want to arrest those behind it. We had no intelligence input about the blasts,” Singh added.

He, however, maintained there was “no lapse in security”.

Is there a way we can see anything live on internet. Any sites guy. IBN and NDTV I boycott...anything. Please do not give more space to this Viven Sreenivasan " I am and athiest my parents were hindu' guy, he has got the most attention in his life yet and he is enjoying it. They say in my village, never wrestele with a pig in the mud, after a while it is only the pig that is enjoying it. I guess both Vivek and 'we' have made the point, lets move on to the situation at hand. Lets see if we can understand the modus operendai here. We know the motive, wether some athiest agrees with that or not. Lets see if we understand how they execute it.

One of the major problems in tracking down these terrorists in India is that its so easy to blend in. People in large metropolises ignore each other to such an extent that you have to do something seriously odd to get noticed, like walking around naked. A guys behaving suspiciously like avoiding eye contact, making nervous movments like fideting will just get ignored. There should be adds on TV asking people to report suspicious behaviour and to keep a look out for suspecious behaviour.

Fanne if your up to it i suggest that you go to your muslim neighbour or any muslim aquaintance and start talking to them about this issue and see what they think about it. If that is too sensitive just go over and say hello and have a honest and deep chat about what life means, ask them about the hopes they have for their childern, ask them about their ambitions etc (and give them a hug at the end). I think that youll find that your similarities FAR OUTWEIGH your differences.

The situation is extremely distressing. But let Vivek Sreenivasan and his daft views be, it is a democracy after all. I used to be a fanatic secularist, taking issue with everyone who expressed what I considered then to be bigoted views, until constant exposure to the ills this religion has brought to the world helped to change my mind. Who can doubt that the world would be better off without Islam? But instead of wasting time arguing with each other, why doesn't BRF try to focus on solutions?
I don't see any, but many times I have come across excellent discussions and solutions to issues on this forum.
First we should identify the problem, we know what it is, but since we cannot throw the 150 million Muslims out (and honestly some are genuinely secular and indistinguishable from Hindus), let us examine the sub categories of the problem:
And then let us see, what are the contours of their solution?
My Mother said Kashmir is the root of these attacks. Well, what is the solution? We have allowed Kashmir to drift for 60 years and now that cannot be solved by repealing 370 assuming our leaders have the stomach for real action -without unleashing 10 times now jihad, we can't seem to do anything...., does anyone have any good ideas? Can we turn to finding solutions? Or should we just elect Modi and let him eradicate terrorism as he has promised?

Boy, that's a bigmouthful, from a proselytising evengelist sporting an atheist mask (sympathy for buddhists clevery juxtaposed).

The topic is here deadly terrorism due to which innocent folks are killed, by jihadis, aided and abetted by "sleeper cells". Keep the conversion business to another place, another day.

Of course terrorist have a religion it is terrorism promoting religion. Guess what is that religion.

This vivek sreenivasan guy has hijacked this thread. Lets not give him that attention anymore. Can admins do an IP check on him ? Let this guy not make us forget that Islamic terrorism against Indic people is more than a 1000 year old phenomenon.

The problem isn't muslims but its how much of Islam has entered a muslim. A muslim is just like any average common man out there.

While our ch*t*ya home minister says:

Shivraj Patil mouths old statements, old excuses

New Delhi: Terming Saturday's serial blasts in the capital as a cowardly attack, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil said the perpetrators would be severely dealt with under the law.

"It is a cowardly act by those who don't want us to live in peace. The people behind this act will be given stringent punishment according to the law," he told reporters here.

"We have just overcome the difficulties (of the previous blasts) and these cowardly people have hit us again. But I would appeal to people to stay together and not create panic," Patil added.

He has also announced that the central government would sanction compensation for the families of those killed and for those injured.

"Overcoming difficulties is a big challenge for us for the time being and I appeal to people to stay together and maintain social harmony," he added.

"The government will continue to deal firmly with such elements," he said, adding that he was confident that security agencies will soon be able to get to the bottom of these incidents and the culprits will be brought to book.

Patil said the Government always has some information through its intelligence network. "Whether it is Rajasthan or Gujarat, we always have intelligence information about such attacks, but we never know where and at what time the attacks may take place. We always try to stop such things".

In response to a question whether the Government had failed in curbing such attacks and had delayed invocation of an anti-terror law, he said: "this is not an occasion to discuss framing of rules and laws. Right now our priority is to control the situation. We can think and discuss about framing laws later on".

Patil refused to comment on BJP leader L K Advani's reported warning about the possibility of such an attack in Delhi, received through Gujarat government.

"Let us not play politics over this issue. I am not aware of what Advani has said. He is a responsible person. We are all responsible people and should behave responsibly," the Home Minister said.

At least 18 people were killed and nearly 100 injured in six terror blasts at crowded market places in the capital Saturday evening - three in Connaught Place, two in Greater Kailash and one in Karol Bagh.

That is the wholly reasonable cry of a religious community asking not to be tarnished with a very wide brush for the acts of a deranged minority . "Dont blame religion" is NOT the fig leaf of terrorists.
They must not get that. Islam is the problem. Indian Mujahideen are secondary to the tenets of Islam that legally, as per Islamic law, allow the killing of people who are considered to be enemies of Islam.
,

Nope. Dont agree. It just assumes that most muslims are some sort of automatons who will blindly follow whatever is literally written in the Quran or is in the Sunnah or Hadiths , without applying their to check it follows natural justice and is fundamentally right or wrong. I think the vast majority, the overwhelming percentage would do so.

The problem is that after Mustal Kemal - Ataturk abolished the Caliphate, there was no real "protestant reformation" (for want of a better term ) as a global movement in Islam globally.

Yeah, when I was in turkey, I heard the Azan being chanted in TURKISH in the blue mosque in Istanbul. The maulvi /muezzin is a cheerful ,smiling clean shaving young man in mid 20s, who is dressed in embroidered robes in white, who freely mingles with women, foreigners , everyone and poses for photos with kids.. sort of more Merlin the magician kind of dress, rather than the ill fitting ankle length pyjamas and kurta with a spade shaped beard and callouses on the head and a very stern fire and brimstone look that we normally associate with mullahs. But that kind of reformation is limited to Turkey, unfortunately.

I doubt if there is a single mosque in India where the muezzin calls out in Hindi /Tamil/Kashmiri/Urdu or any of the languages spoken in India.. Not a single mullah who would dress in dhoti or trousers or whatever.

What i am trying to point out is that it is a mind set change and Islam is definitely capable of looking inward and reforming. However, the impulse for that has come from a catharisis and been forced from on top like in Turkey.. There is not a single instance of that happening from within the muslim community. That is where the "secularists" are wrong, by saying and resisting reforms, saying that Islam will reform itself and the state should be neutral.. By itself, islam might not be able to modernize. However, with a lot of help and support it definitely can and it is only a modernized , reformed islam and muslim community that can address the serious underlying problems the muslim community faces in India and abroad.

well how about first hanging afzal as per the law sirji ? no it can't be done because
congress alwas hopes to grab the votes of muslims.
why should it matter if muslims do not support/believe in afzal's version of events
simply because they trust him more than supreme court?

Honestly guys can 'we' (as in we who are sitting in front of the computer and have no power because were not the authorities) do anything directly about this problem? Answer: NO, we are impotent. We cant become anti-terrorist agents. The best we can do is do what we can. Spread love to all religions, send a post to the local MLA with ideas such as TV ads and a hotline to report suspicious behaviour. BTW i seriously think that one of you guys should do that. I cant do it im out of India.

It is the absolute selfworthlessness of the converts that is responsible for this. But to extrapolate to 2025, when Hindus Sikhs Jains Buddhists are discussing the technolgies behind their fuel cell cars and hypersonic flights, one presumes the muezzin will still be calling out in Arabic, from Old Delhi's medieval warrens.

Boy selling balloons saw two men place bomb: police

ew Delhi: A boy who sells balloons at the Barkhamba Road crossing in central Delhi may have seen two men placing a bomb there, police said soon after serial blasts hit the capital, killing at least nine and injuring over 80.

Two people were killed in the blast at Barakhamba Road in Connaught Place.

"They got into an auto rickshaw about five minutes after placing whatever they placed on top of the dustbin and went away," the boy told police.

Police said they were still examining the nature of explosives placed at the spot.

Condolences to all the victims of the blast. I will pray for them and I will wait for the day we will be able to bring the wrath of these innocents on the perpetrators of these terrorist acts.

Also, Each and Every time someone holds responsible Islamic terrorist for these attacks, one or perhaps two, SAJA/FOIL/"atheist" (sic!) type will come to the forum and will sing the Islamic terrorist = Hindu Extremist song( They equate terrorists with extremists with no shame, which is not surprising as they have none) and that all religions are equal equal only. My point is why do we get riled up or even entertain them? Is it the hope that they will see/understand reality  . IMHO, I think it is vain hope and 99.999999999999999% of these types are wasted. I would'nt waste a breath on these wasted ones.

I think the best response to these types is to be indifferent to them.

there is a emergency cabinet meeting tonight. I figure pranabda and MMS will be the only ones
awake and in control of their faculties, the others some of them are empty vessels and the key
figure mananiya griha mantriji will be found missing. two RAW agents sent to locate him will find
him right beneath the cabinet table snoring to the high heavens....

I thought LKA made a really bad HM, but that was before the current incumbent arrived on
the scene. he sets the bar very low indeed. I wonder how Buta singh was? cant be this bad.

patilji is completely non-existent in the front and neither he is 1% of the backroom operator
that PVN was. to be HM you need to be really good in atleast one of these areas. who hired
this candidate ? is he some distant relation to 10 janpath?

Finally found a solution (above) which I had temporarily lost sight of as I was so angry and worried - I have been for this for years. What are we waiting for? Baluchistan has been begging for help, we should split the country up. Everything else will resolve itself. Kashmiris will shut up and so will the IMs.
