Scores of people organised a rally at the Fawara Chowk here on Thursday to celebrate court orders to change the chowk’s name to Tahaffuz-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwat Chowk. The ruling was given by Judge Sardar Shameem Khan of Lahore High Court on December 31. International Khatm-i-Nabuwat’s Haji Muhammad Shafi, Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam’s Shafqatur Rehman, and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat’s Rao Muhammad Javed Iqbal addressed the rally.

No, he won't do that. He is far too committed to his idea of Pakistan and his hatred for India. Besides, India will be 'punishment posting' for him like his American friends who are there to provide him with all the facilities in Boston. Don't you remember how Auntie provided the comforts in London in the first year of his exile ?

Sir, what has bitten you? Don't you realize you cannot take out the Pakistaniyat from a Paki, especially a pathological lying Paki like 400% Mushy. Let him spend time in the land of his fourfathers or Londonistan.

Cricket in TSP. Interesting interview with Sharayar Khan:
Pakistan cricket, as never been revealed before!
You were critical of Inzamam-ul Haq's long prayer sessions and how Bob Woolmer was uncomfortable with the fact that there was not much time left for practice...

Yes, that was a problem, especially under Inzamam. I knew that once Inzamam left the scene, this trend would come to end.

Woolmer felt he wasn't getting enough time for practice, but at the same time he could see it was keeping the team united.

By all means be religious, but do in your own manner. This phase was very difficult.

Was Yousuf Youhana's conversion to Islam part of it?

Frankly speaking, I was very disappointed when he converted.

Cricket is the one biding force in Pakistan, so it was disappointing to see Youhana convert.

I used to tell Yousuf that you are excused from morning practice, go and pray in church. He would say thank you very much and would come back for practice.

Four years later, I found that in South Africa his enthusiasm had dipped and he wasn't keen on going to church.

When I asked him about it, he was very vague. He is not from the Christian community, but is one of those Dalit converts.

Probably, he felt demeaned by fellow Muslims.

I made sure that there was no pressure on the others. Like Danish Kaneria. I made sure he stayed a Hindu.

There was pressure from Inzamam; there is no doubt about it, but we are very proud of a Hindu playing for Pakistan!
Lots of Pakistaniyat on display!

Pakistan not an ally of US, Robert Gates - PTI, The Hindu
Robert Gates, the former U.S. Defence Secretary who was the strongest supporter of Pakistan, believes that Islamabad is not an ally of America and it will not give up its policy of supporting terrorists.

“Although I would defend them in front of Congress and to the press to keep the relationship from getting worse -- and endangering our supply line from Karachi -- I knew they were really no ally at all,” Mr. Gates writes in his forthcoming book titled ‘Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War’.

Referring to his visit in January 2010 -- his second and the last one to Pakistan -- wherein he met the then President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Mr. Gates writes that he returned convinced that Islamabad would not give up its policy of supporting terrorists.

“No administration in my entire career devoted more time and energy to working the Pakistanis than did President (Barack) Obama and all his senior team,” Mr. Gates, who was the defence secretary from December 2006 to July 2011, writes.

“My message was consistent: we were committed to a long-term strategic partnership; we needed to work together against the ‘syndicate of terror’ placing Afghanistan, Pakistan and India at risk; we needed to remove safe havens on both side of the border; Pakistan needed to better control anti-Americanism and harassment of Americans; and the Pakistani army’s ‘extra-judicial killings’ (executions) were putting our relationship at risk,” Mr. Gates writes in his memoir.

The book is scheduled to be released next week.

“The visit was for naught,” Mr. Gates writes referring to his meetings with the Pakistani leaders on January 21-22, 2010.

“I returned convinced that Pakistan would work with the U.S. in some ways -- such as providing supply lines through Pakistan, which were also highly profitable -- while at the same time providing sanctuary for the Taliban and other extremists, so that no matter who came out on top in Afghanistan, Pakistan would have influence. If there was to be any reconciliation, the Pakistanis intended to control it,” Mr. Gates said.

In his memoir running into more than 600 pages, Mr. Gates says weeks before his inauguration, Mr. Obama asked him to travel to Chicago to attend a meeting of his transition’s national security team, which among others was attended by Ms. Hillary Clinton and Mr. Joe Biden.

The meeting, held in December, spent nearly an hour discussing on Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, Mr. Gates writes.

“Pakistan was described as the biggest, most dangerous situation,” he writes.

In Mach 2009, Mr. Gates writes, Mr. Obama held a series of meetings on his Af-Pak to discuss report of Bruce Riedel, who was appointed by the President. One of those Friday, he writes, they reviewed the final Riedel report.

This “recommended disrupting the terrorist networks in Afghanistan and especially Pakistan, promoting a more effective government in Afghanistan, developing the Afghan security forces, ending Pakistan’s support for terrorist and insurgent groups, enhancing civilian control in Pakistan, and using US diplomatic, military, and intelligence channels to reduce enmity and distrust between Pakistan and India. It was breathtaking in its ambition,” Mr. Gates writes.

When Obama announced his Af-Pak strategy, Mr. Gates said he had reservations on Pakistan’s co-operation.

“I also doubted we could persuade the Pakistanis to change their ‘calculus’ and go after the Afghan and other extremists on their side of the border. When a Pakistani Taliban offensive that spring reached within sixty miles of Islamabad the Pakistani army went after them in the border provinces of Swat and South Waziristan for their own protection.

“Their continuing toleration of the Afghan Taliban, including harbouring their leaders in Quetta was a hedging strategy based on their lack of trust in us, given unwillingness to stay engaged in Afghanistan in the early 1990s,” he writes.

Such was his distrust of Pakistan that, he writes, when they were planning for Osama bin Laden raid, he was worried that the ISI was aware of the al-Qaeda chief’s whereabouts.{What ! He still doesn't believe that ? How does one explain this ?}

“I worried that Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence was aware of where Bin Laden was and that there might be rings of security around the compound that we knew nothing about or, at minimum, that 1ST might have more eyes on the compound than we could know,” he wrote.

The worst-case scenario was that the Pakistanis could get a number of troops to the compound quickly, prevent extraction of our team and take them prisoner, he writes.

When he asked his Vice Admiral William McRaven what he planned to do if the Pakistani military showed up during the operation, he said the team would just hunker down and wait for a “diplomatic extraction.”

“They would wait inside the compound and not shoot any Pakistanis. I then asked what they would do if the Pakistanis breached the walls: ‘Do you shoot or surrender?’ Our team couldn’t surrender, I said. If the Pakistani military showed up, our team needed to be prepared to do whatever was necessary to escape,” Mr. Gates writes.

“After considerable discussion, there was broad agreement to this, and as a result, additional MH-47 helicopters and forces were assigned to the mission,” he says.

Mr. Gates writes that ahead of the Abbottabad raid no one inside the administration talked about seeking Pakistani help in killing bin Laden.

“No one thought we should ask the Pakistanis for help or permission. In every instance when we had provided a heads-up to the Pakistan military or intelligence services, the target was forewarned and fled, or the Pakistanis went after the target unilaterally, prematurely and unsuccessfully,” he says.

The successful bin Laden raid, he writes, was humiliating for the Pakistan Army.

^ for the benefit of Robert Gates, I post this:
Pakistan spy agency ISI not only aids and abets terrorist sanctuaries in the country, but also provides training and intelligence inputs to extremist outfits, a former top Pentagon general said. Gen (rtd) Jack Keane also charged that Pakistan Army headed by General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, who once headed ISI, has been repeatedly lying to the United States on the matter. But still, the retired American General argued that the US has no other option but to have strategic partnership with Pakistan, given its significance in the war against terrorism. "The truth is, the ISI aids and abets the sanctuaries in Pakistan that the Afghan operate out of. They provide training for them, they provide resources for them and they provide intelligence for them. From those sanctuaries, every single day Afghan fighters come into Afghanistan and kill and maim us," Keane, said at a discussion on Afghanistan organized by the Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think-tank. "There's a direct relationship of ISI's complicity and the deaths of American soldiers and the catastrophic wounding of those soldiers. The chief of staff of the Pakistani military is complicit. He used to be the director of ISI. He put the guy in there who is in charge now and he has full knowledge of what I'm just describing," Keane alleged. He said: "This partnership has got to be based on that harsh reality. There are two ammonium nitrate factories in Pakistan. 80 per cent of the explosive devices that are used to kill our soldiers, kill Afghan security forces and kill Afghan people come from Pakistan." "All of what I just said to you, when we confront them with this, they lie to us. They lie to us just like the Soviet Union used to lie to us. But we have to have a relationship, in my judgment, that is based on the harsh reality and the truth and we go from there in developing this relationship," Keane said. The retired US general said Pakistan is a country of strategic consequence - much more so than Afghanistan is - given the size of that population and the growing nuclear arsenal and the fact that there is a raging insurgency inside the country to destabilize it. "This is radical Islam who wants to take over that country, would have that nuclear arsenal. None of that could we permit to have happen." "So we have to have a strategic partnership of some sort with Pakistan. But I think it got to be grounded, once and for all, on the truth. That's got to be the basis for this relationship. And sometimes, I'm not sure it is," he added.

Night curfew along Indo-Pakistan border extended by two months
Night curfew in areas along the Indo-Pak border here in the district has been extended by two months in view of infiltration and smuggling attempts from across the border.

Entry to certain areas near the border will be restricted from 6 pm to 7 am without prior permission from local administration officials. The orders issued by the collector N L Meena will cover areas like Tanot, Sadhewala and Longewala falling under Jaisalmer and Pokaran tehsils will be covered, according to sources.

Further review on the decision will take place on March 1.

It is for preventing people from roaming in the areas during night hours and for a better check on infiltrators who often sneak into India

Rec'd via email: Daily Briefing from Foreign Policy Magazine
Musharraf ordered to attend court hearings

After reviewing the medical records of former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf, a special court looking into treason charges against the ex-military ruler ordered him to attend his next hearing on Jan. 16, saying on Thursday there is nothing in the report that provides a reason for him to miss anymore court appearances (BBC, Dawn, ET). Musharraf has been in the hospital since last week, when he suffered from chest pains as he headed to the court. The hearings have been repeatedly delayed since they began on Dec. 24, 2013, and multiple media outlets have said Pakistanis view the security and health concerns cited by Musharraf's lawyers with skepticism. Musharraf is the first former military ruler to face trial for treason in Pakistan; he also faces separate charges of murder and restricting the country's judiciary.

Meanwhile, another former Pakistani president, Asif Ali Zardari, made his first appearance in court on Thursday since completing his term in September 2013 to face corruption charges related to a number of different cases (Dawn, ET). According to reports, the session was brief and was quickly adjourned until Jan. 18, when the court will decide whether or not to formally indict Zardari for allegedly taking bribes, laundering funds, and illegally constructing a polo ground at an official residence. The cases against Zardari were first filed while he was still in office, but he was protected by presidential immunity. They were reopened a month after he stepped down.

Looks like South Asia is busy in courts!

Mushy was either goatnapped to the Army hospital and given to understnad his aukkad or he faked a heart attack. The judges having known his heartlessness in the past (SC Justice Chaudhary etc) decided to stop his nautanki.

Last year, Aslam helped conduct a bloody but ultimately failed operation to arrest a man wanted for 63 murders in one of Karachi's most notorious slums. Five police and 20 civilians died, but the suspect was giving press interviews at his home shortly afterwards.
"We were working for a long time to eliminate him as he killed and tortured many of our people in Karachi," said Taliban spokesman Sajjad Mohmand from Mohmand Agency in the tribal areas.

"We trained this (suicide bomber) especially to eliminate him. It's a huge success for our people." He said the Taliban would continue to target other officers on a hit list.

Air travellers: Amid alarm bells, screws tightened on dollar outflow

http://tribune.com.pk/story/657019/air- ... r-outflow/
BAD: The government has introduced new capital controls and halved the permissible limit of $10,000 in cash for air travellers in addition to other stringent measures at major international airports to stop the smuggling of dollars, as the country’s foreign currency reserves stand at a critically low level. The measures came after the government failed to buffer the fast depleting foreign currency reserves despite an International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package of $6.7 billion. Reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), estimated at $3.2 billion, can meet only three weeks of imports. The fresh ceiling on capital outflow suggests that the government is making desperate attempts to stem the continuous depletion of foreign currency reserves, according to analysts.SBP Governor Yaseen Anwar raised the issue in the meeting that the present limit of $10,000 for each traveller per trip was being misused, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance. To stop this tendency, it was agreed that the present limit should be reduced to $5,000, it added..Last year, Yaseen Anwar had disclosed in a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance that $25 million was being smuggled out of the country every day through three major international airports.

This had me thinking about a hypothetical scenario:

What if the GoI creates a category of limited time visa (a one way deal onlee) for TSPians who are desirous of migrating to India, with the following conditions:
1. Applicable only for folks who were minors during partition or were born after partition. Exception for minorities
2. Swear under oath to obey and be loyal to India. If they are ever caught aiding or abetting Pakistan in a treasonous way against India, will make them eligible for severe punishment, including death penalty.
3. Swear that the TNT is a flawed concept and accept the pluralism of religious beliefs and secularism.
4. Will be inelligible to claim benefits or changes to laws based on religious doctrine/dogmas etc. and be governed by uniform civil code.
5. Inelligible to visit TSP. Automatic revocation of visa and permanent bar in entry to India.

Will be interesting to see how many TSPians will queue up for the deal. My guess is that if the TSPians vote with their feet, it will deliver a serious H&D blow. TSP will be forced to permanently shut up regarding 'plebiscite' and will of the people! Of course India can be highly selective, with lengthy background checks before actually granting the visas. I have no problems if Al-Bakistan would like to make a similar offer to Indians. :D It will flush out the closet TSP pasands in India.

That article is

Image
When the police got to the blast site, Aslam’s bulletproof black Vigo lay 40 feet away from the blast site, which is the other side of the expressway. The other two men in his vehicle – his driver and gunmen – also died on the spot. One chunk of the expressway’s boundary wall was blown off due to the intensity of the blast. The surface of the expressway’s ramp now has cracks running down the middle.

The area was not cordoned off – reporters, policemen and residents were roaming around, trying to pick the pieces. Shrapnel and car parts could be found within a 200-metre range of the blast site.

Discussing the attack, the additional IG said the vehicle Aslam usually used – his bomb-proof SUV – had gone for repairs and he was using a bullet-proof Vigo which could not withstand the impact of the blast. {So the talibs knew this}

My belief is that if the above were to happen, that would be the end of the age old of idea of India. As it is, the country has a tough time dealing with home-grown terrorists. Why invite more? I am convinced that the TNT, even though flawed, was the only decent act that Nehru agreed to by calling djinnah's bluff. The TNT is alive and well, and is now better understood by the outsiders when they observe Indians and pakis diverge from each other in all possible ways each given day.

Discussing the attack, the additional IG said the vehicle Aslam usually used – his bomb-proof SUV – had gone for repairs and he was using a bullet-proof Vigo which could not withstand the impact of the blast. {So the talibs knew this}
To me it looks like Pak Army operation against Karachi Police

Usually spotted in his trademark crisp white shalwar kameez with his buttons undone and an unkempt beard, he was known for wearing flashy watches, carrying his Glock 9mm pistol in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Known as the Sultan Rahi of Sindh police, it is a poignant that he died on the same day that Rahi did.
Waiting for collaborative Chulbul Pandey meets Chaudary Aslam flick from Soothasian Bollywood.
Could be a modern spoof of "Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo" on the streets of Karachi.

OTH IMO, Paki H&D loss can be as easily precipitated by Veena Malick types as could be by Musharap types - both anyway have the same job discription when in India,I.e dancing nanga on stage for Money.

Aha . . . another brave commando type, like SSG Musharraf, resembles this one. That photo, etched in my mind for ever, of the COAS testing a Glock (was it) with cigarette dangling from his lips, by the side of his Prime Minister. These Pakis see too much cowboy type movies and mimick them with similar flamboyant bravado (but not when it is actually needed). Another bravado was the 'brave' gait of Miandad.

Waiting for the day when we will have a news article wherein a kammandu type accidently shoots himself or the people around him while pretending to be coward boys cowboys!

Wait for a few more years... with redjineered history and they will soon have imaginary fourfathers (or is it pentafathers?) who were gunslinging, Tall Fair Anglo Saxon cowboys that rode on horseback across the vast plains and rugged mountains of America, decimating the dark skinned heathen Injuns. 8)

Yawn blogs have too many stories of Hindu past of paki cities. Any idea what has prompted abduls to write and why publishers are publishing it? Seems to be a flood of similar theme articles. First by some one who claims to be railway enthusiast and now others. They are interesting read I must admit.

The story of Ram Bagh

PS: I would love if we can save these links and pictures in some place like Shiv ji's book since they show a fleeting glimpse into the hindu past of these lands that was lost for ever. I am sure the Sindhi migrants now living in other parts of India would love them.

Since poor Nelson Mandela's death pakis have started to use the word apartheid very liberally as if pakis are on threshold of some color revolution

Economic apartheid
Overall, the food price index has increased 130pc between 2007 and 2013, with wheat, pulses, gram, basic vegetables such as potatoes and onions among others, all recording extraordinary rises. Rice, fish, red meat and fruits are all off the menu for not just the poorest in Pakistan.

Given the backdrop of the steep rise in food prices over the past several years, it is hardly surprising that malnutrition has assumed alarming proportions. An UN inter-agency assessment mission had placed the food-insecure population in Pakistan at 77 million people — in 2008, at the start of the global food crisis. The official National Nutrition Survey (2011) found:

· An across-the-board increase in malnutrition in children, with 67pc of this cohort falling in the malnourished category, across the whole of Pakistan;

· An across-the board increase in ‘stunting rates’ in children in Pakistan (with Sindh faring particularly poorly on this score).

A protein-rich diet is now unaffordable for vast segments of Pakistani society. :(( :(( To make matters worse, a diet that is considered minimal not only in terms of nutritional value but also for the development of the faculties of school-going children and young adults is being denied to millions. This denial will almost certainly stunt their future prospects, consigning them and their progeny to economic and social marginalisation. This is not only unacceptable, but wholly unnecessary and preventable.

Preconditions would be: he needs to badmouth Pakistan publicly in press conferences and say how the entire nation is a failed concept, how he spent his entire life in the service of a false mirage, etc. etc. Most importantly - he needs to provide Indian intelligence agencies every bit of information that he can - about Paki nukes, military and intelligence operations, etc. etc.
Given that option half of their politicians will come to Motherland.

AQ Bum khan and Altaf hussain would be in front of the line.

RCase Ji :

You can't be Serious?!?

An overwhelming vast majority of the Foaming at the Mouth Pakistani Muslims would MIGRATE TO INDIA whereas NONE of the Indian Muslims would MIGRATE TO PAKISTAN.

All oaths taken by Pakistani Muslims - even on the Holy Koran - will not be honoured.

Here are three Articles for you perusal :

1. Punjab’s ‘cleansing’- Ajmal Kamal - Express Tribune :

First of all minorities were disarmed with the help of the local police and by giving assurances on oaths on the Holy Quran of peaceful intentions. After this had been done, the helpless and unarmed minorities were attacked.

2. Traitors, aren’t they? - Harris Khalique - The News International

The worst incident of all until then was the breaking of oath with Nauroz Khan, the chief of the Zehri tribe in Jhalawan. When during the armed struggle of 1960 to resist one-unit in West Pakistan and the usurpation of Baloch rights by the central government, Nauroz Khan was putting up resistance in one of the battles. Pakistani military swore an oath and urged Nauroz to surrender and prepare for negotiations. Nauroz Khan was betrayed, he and his sons arrested and no amnesty was granted. His sons were hanged in Hyderabad and Sukkur. He died a shocked man soon after in 1962.

Quite a few of those have become pak pasand as well. Check the attitude of many of those who came over MS Aiyar, MMS etc.. unfortunately they tend to dominate the political view as well apparently. Those who lost a lot seem to languish in silence.

I guess for Maza-the-Hutt, fog and smog are the same. Besides her mind being foggy it is also now polluted. Needs scrubbing. I wonder what she has to say about her boss' tweet about the great Islamic looter...er..savior Ghaznavi spreading love and affection in sooth asia? Pakis will applaud even their sisters getting laid as long as it serves the spread of the ummah. Pathetic.
sooner or later somebody will come out with

"The real reason why all this fog in Pakistan is because of the solar projects in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Indian Punjab. They are stealing the Sun light along with waters"

During the Aparthied regime's existence, TSP was best buddy with them in Asia as a counter to Indian support to ANC. The Boer regime supplied many types of weapons to TSP.
