Currently DEI is 'Deader than a doornail' and I think that's both good and bad. Institutions(Education/Government) which had DEI policies were annoying to deal with and they effectively achieved nothing much.
Institutions and organizations that did not have any DEI policies to begin with remained stuck where they were.
One govt. organization that did DEI right is the US armed forces. From desegregation that started with Truman's presidency in 1948, to what the policies were until recently, armed forces implemented this in a thoughtful, methodical, and deliberate fashion. Most of the corporations who implement DEI do it in a superficial way and those will always crack at the first instance of a challenge. Costco is one of the few corps which actually got this correctly and if it's actually done right, not many will have genuine problems with it.
I for one am glad these specious practices are done for as there was no fairness in how they were implemented by most of these organizations.
Sounds so very democratic from the champions of democracy and rules based order! Must have taken a leaf from Winnie the Pooh. I guess the Chairman will be able to 'purge' or 'frog-march' erring executive members.

On a traffic stop, a US cop will identify themselves -- "I am Officer X, badge #Y" before proceeding to ticket (or advise) the driver on whatever infraction it was. ICE on the other hand is masked, badge less, and need not be uniformed; they often do not identify themselves.
I'm beginning to agree with Stephen Miller in a way (/sarc) some Indians ruin the culture.
