Deal signing should not be attended by PM. Piyush Goyal can attend. The next moment of signing the deal, Trump could state something else and the blot will be on our PM. Trump should be avoided for the remaining time of his term. Even if its that inevitable a short recorded speech could be played or through video conference. Any statement made during that short interaction need to be countered right there itself and closed.
Indians will never ever show any respect for Trump. He thinks everyone is like him and will change their respect based on the money flowing and on business deals.

US President Donald Trump says, "We're making a deal with India, a much different deal than we had in the past. So right now, they don't love me, but they'll love us again. We're getting a fair deal, just a fair trade deal. We had pretty unfair trade deals...But we're getting close. Scott, I think we're pretty close to doing a deal that's good for everybody, right?..."

Piyush Goyal Draws Red Line In India-US Trade Talks, Says No Compromise On Farmers Or Fishermen
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has made India’s stand crystal clear in the ongoing trade negotiations with the United States - “We want a fair, equitable, and balanced trade deal, but we are not going to compromise.” Speaking at Udyog Samagam 2025, Goyal said India will protect the interests of its farmers, fishermen, and dairy sector while pursuing global growth. Talks between India and the US have entered their sixth phase, aiming to finalize the first tranche of the trade pact by late 2025. The deal, which could double bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030, comes amid tariff tensions that began during the Trump administration. While Washington hopes for faster progress, India’s message is firm that national interests will come first. As both sides prepare for the final push, Goyal’s words echo a new confidence in India’s economic diplomacy.
