Of course the suspicion is that it is a forgery. It would be a crude and transparent one. But one that is perfectly synchronous and congruent with the actions of the colonialist.
It is the dog that did not bark. The deficit in referencing it declaiming it as a forgery is itself highly problematic.
sanjaykumar ji,
however which way one may slice it, there is no getting away from the fact that leopold was an evil man by any standards.
Not much better than what the britshits did in bengal, when they cut off the weaver's thumbs to stop them from making their exceptionally fine muslin cloth
Leopold's administration was characterized by systematic brutality and atrocities in the Congo Free State, including forced labour, torture, murder, kidnapping, and the amputation of the hands of men, women, and children when the quota of rubber was not met. In one of the first uses of the term, George Washington Williams described the practices of Leopold's administration of the Congo Free State as "crimes against humanity" in 1890
here is a belgian brand of chocolates that these heartless belgians made and sold

All please note the fine and outstanding belgian white men, flanking the natives and holding the hands that, probably they had ordered lopped off, just to set the example

We only know a little of the horror Belgium and Germany (in SW Africa) unleashed because of British rivalry and hence propaganda.
Does India have a public repository of Christian and Muslim horror?
It is not often that these actions turn my stomach but these photographs betray a soul sickness that is unforgettable.

One anecdote to illustrate the gap. I mentioned the 1971 genocide in a conversation to an American. He read about it later, and came back with all propaganda arguments like, "if there was such a genocide, where are the memorials; where are the large mass graves; There is a holocaust memorial in Europe, there should be one for 1971 if somehting like this happened".
No one else is going to tell our story. They will in fact downplay it. We have to aggressively spread the truth, or it will be buried by later propaganda

Saab, I would be satisfied if Indians told themselves the truth.

Shame is a cultural concept. Avarice can be universally recognised.
This is congruent with the fundamental tenets of the prosleytising religions.
Buddha was a fool to teach self abnegation.

In India, there are plenty and plenty of funny videos of fake miracle claims and demonstrations made in front of rural people to convert them to Christianity. It is often said that once a family is converted, their yearly contribution to the church will easily cover the expenses for conducting conversion with fake claims.
If any Hindu organisation can properly convey this idea that would be really helpful in stopping the mass conversion to Christianity. Especially the fact that many of the strong caste segregation practices are introduced by the British to divide Hindus.
