Shudder to think what our condition will be if we bowl first against the strong teams...Even the pressure of chasing wont be there and every match will look like the 2003 WC final!!!

Kumble saar's shoes are turning out to be too big for anyone to fill.

We basically used to have two quality spinners in Bhajji and Kumble who could stem the flow even if one of the quickies was having a bad day, now we just have Harbhajan and then we don't have P Kumar.

I hope Chankians in our team do not replace Chawla with another batsman.

Actually, it was the English Paki's 6....that was just a brilliant shot under pressure.....Indian Team always brings the best out of them....

We shoud be ashamed at this result....we can't even defend 338....

MS: well there's nothing much we can do about fielding, we got slow fielders in the side.

The last ball of the Indian innings, one of Zak or Munaf was one short going for two runs and getting run out. Every run counts, and even after N matches, players regret later.

all that won't have mattered if we hadn't bowled those six balls at the end.

epic fightback by the white pakis,

through the heat and humidity of bangalore, a partisan crowd and strauss against a daunting total.

considering that india also won the toss, ultimately this tie is actually won by the english.

there is no heat and humidity in blr...its a pleasant cool night.

ofcourse the english media will spin this as the last stand of the coldstream guards against the Zulu army. :D

I think we exposed our major weakness. Bowling is very weak. we sorely miss a world class fast bowler. Munna is looking very bad and zaheer is giving away too many runs. At this rate we cant even defend 350.

during the first innings onlee saar, while england was fielding,
anderson was huffing and puffing by his 8th over and bresnan was sweating like a pig.

If we can't defend 338 then it is a shame. I think TI was way over over-confident. They need to get their basics right especially in the fielding. I think 50% of the team was unfit or they thought Eng will not reach 338

A tie after posting 338 is phucking unacceptable. This is not much better than a loss. Thankfully MSD acknowledged it in his response after the match. We need to make a few changes ASAP. Bring Sreesanth back in place on Chawla. If Chawla is only going to bowl like this then Yuvi or Pathan can do the same job. We need someone like Pranthan to take wickets early on since we were not able to break the opening partnership in both matches.

More importantly fielding has to save at least 30+ runs to compensate for weak bowling. MSD has to keep a more attacking field like what he set up for the batting powerplay today if we have a big total on the board. No point in setting a field which leaks 6+ runs an over in singles and doubles.

Our bowling department revolves around Zaheer and Harbhajan so we are basically trying to win a 50 over match with help of just two genuine bowlers, and like today if they do not bag a couple of wickets each early in their spells we suddenly find ourselves struggling to even defend a total like 338. Our batting looks stronger than what it was in 2006 but our bowling attack is at it's lowest in last 2/3 world-cups.

We won't be able to score 300+ in every match of the tournament. May be we should always chase.

I blame Gawd. Its all his fault. He could have scored one more run, stopped one more run with his fielding.
Shame, he is selfish and should be dropped.

There, I have done all the usual rants of Gawd baiters

For those wanting Sreesanth, I doubt he would have fared better. He would have leaked 75-80 runs as well and would have thrown a tantrum to boot.

Still the tie would serve to jolt the team management. Better get these things out in the league stage itself.

Maybe time for R Ashwin to step up?

That should be possible no? We make quarters, most likely at #2 position and will end up facing Aus or someone similar.

after this disgrace I'll be grateful if we make the quarters as #4 where we will face #1 from group A ? that would be pak or aus IMO. I don't think we are capable of defeating either without a large chunk of luck. keep in mind that this match went as good as it could have for us in terms of luck, winning the toss, broad sitting out and we still couldn't won.

Just returned from the match!!!!! Superb! Although India didn't win, it was England's match to lose, and they almost did it thanks to superb comeback by Zaheer and overwhelming pressure put the new batsmen by the crowds in the last 7 overs.

I was about the leave the ground around the 40th over, when the match was all but lost. Thank god I didn't!!

Full Paisa Vasool for me! :D :D
