What the above does not show is % of each group that voted, I suspect that M+ Y voted in high numbers, due to Corona plus high fuel prices + dacait type acts in 21, people in other groups voted lesser, actually 2022 UP elections was a stellar performance by BIF

It appears from the data above that bsp and con lost a ton which was obviously gained by sp. I think it was more consolidation of antibjp vote x sp rather than a 3 way spread that was observed in 2017.

At this point I am forced to say that Congress needs to be reasonably strong to prevent other unpredictable BIF parties from emerging . Con and aap should be vote katua of each other as infinite loop.

Raghuram Rajan says "world cannot afford" India becoming a manufacturing powerhouse like China

Why? Because he says it will hurt the environment

China + Environment lobby + Indian liberal elites coming together to say that India should not have factories.....

It seems that RJD has passed a resolution for the merger of JDU and RJD.

It's only a matter of time that Tejaswi Yadav is the CM of Bihar.

Larry Walker,
i have removed the image for the response. The 4% vote share of Malla, Nishad, Kewat, Kashyap is spread in many areas of UP. these votes are polled by mostly OPRajbhar who was alligned with the BJP in 2017 and in this election was with SP. According to Pradeep Singh of Aapka Akhbar analysis, OP Rajbhar had the best performnace of his party's history when he won something like 17 or 22 seats in 2017 election. he demanded more something like a hundred seats this time around and was denied. So went with SP where he also got very few seats and only 1-2 seem to have won.

In UP there seem to be a lot of parties whose influence is over a few thousand people ( a lot of parties that extends at district levels over communities and not even a state level parties that drive people to vote based on what they get offered). They might influence the voting patterns across a few segments and then demand their pound of flesh as they feel that their importance has grown. A combination of two to three such parties can drive your vote share up by a few thousand votes in few segments atleast. The VIP party in Bihar is a good example of this. the leader doesn't have any following in Bihar to win on his own, but commands a few percentage of votes in UP and was accommodated before he tried some tricks and was kicked out and his mla's who were all BJP ones just elected on his party symbol merged into BJP.

As other posters have said, this elections saw the consolidation of muslim votes towards SP where they were split with BSP last time around. Also in the areas where there was three way contest BSP seemed to have held its vote share from the backward classes this time round (while muslim yadav consolidation hurt BJP in those areas as hindu votes were split technically leading to SP victories).

So this was the best performance of the BIF in UP, there was muslim and yadav consolidation towards SP and BSP has traditionally held onto its vote bank, with infighting in BJP and covid issues all coming together for the result we have seen.

This is the type of person who should be permanently on the NO FLY category to India. Worse than the worst are those who trash their motherland. The only ones who would be hurt are the liberandus and BIF , who he is a part of. Shameful even to mention that he was an RBI governor at one point

You mean No Fly *from* India (he will only find out when he tries to fly out back to the US). That will create a real trouble for him, by being disconnected to the US. What a shame to have such people as citizens of India!

18 Oct 2022

I know sir. That's why I said it is the typical paki brilliance.. any other country would have complained to the governing body, asked for India to be one to be penalized / debarred..

This is like the old Russell Peters skit about the Iraqis/Yanks

Manish_P ji,

the modi govt is playing the long game.

This is a bolt from the blue for the pakis but merely a well gamed move by India.

the pakis have again been shown their aukat.

Pakistan says that resuming trade/talks with India will be like “insulting the sacrifices of Kashmiris”. Absolutely no talks till India takes back articles 370 & 35A.

Chetak sir, no doubt but it isn't only the rupaiha per se.. the thing with kirket is that it was a very visible medium for the pakis to show their awaam the superiority of islam over the SDREs. The defeats would always be conveniently blamed on match throwing by few TFTAs who were tempted by the rich, cunning baniyas..

These reports and indexes are just tools for continuing western meddling on other countries. Its time India created it's own research institutes and published global. indices on various topics like - Racial equity, - Drug addiction, - Freedom of press, - stability of family, - cost of higher education, -value delivered by medical insurance, - food wastage, - how the society treats the elderly, -Govt corruption, -Rightwing violence, -violenec against women, -incest & pedophily etc etc...
And take out full page ads now and then in western media like NYT, WaPo, Time, Newsweek etc and publish results zooming on how the western countries are doing. The trouble created is well worth the money spent. Just increase visa fees, tax west HQd companies a bit more and call it "equity tax".

What is referred to as c-system, which is simply a collusion of special interest, has migrated to the only institution left shielded from the executive by the constitution. This is why it will only get worse as other areas of the state machinery improve.

Just like everything else it will eventually have to be restructured.
