Webkit and Blink both are GNU LGPL, BSD style. Gecko is Mozilla Public. Only major (?) engine, Trident of MS, is proprietary.
"LGPL, BSD style" is quite liberal (though not as liberal as MIT Licence), so is "Mozilla Public". LGPL means you can link them as libraries (or are they moules) to your commercial closed source code. You find bugs, you can always fork and maintain your fork downstream. Easier still is to contribute to the code base directly. LGPL means you have to only share the code of the library only, not your application code. In that sense it is more liberal than GPL.
If that’s the bar, then get a Linux distribution and call it a day. The discussion was on an Indian OS right?
My understanding is that we are talking about a Linux respin. There is little profit, i.e. advantage, in a reinventing the wheel. Use Linux on the backend and Webkit or Blink for the front end UX/GUI.

Bharat Earth Movers Limited(BEML), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TuTr Hyperloop, a deep-tech startup incubated at IIT Madras, to jointly develop India's first indigenously designed Hyperloop transportation system.

TuTr Hyperloop was previously selected under the Ministry of Railways Hyperloop Development Programme and has been working on experimental test tracks in partnership with academic institutions. The collaboration with BEML marks one of the first formal steps toward establishing a commercial-scale indigenous Hyperloop system.

There is a point about R&D I make repeatedly: R&D is not expensive but time intensive and best results are achieved by teams who stay committed long term.
American companies solved the need for long term committed people with the H1-B visa and the extremely long green card process, both of which made it painful or risky to switch jobs. This gave them a source of committed talent.
Since companies tend to promote those who are committed, Indians got promoted. There was no conspiracy to promote Indians, it was one consequence of the visa/green card system.
Tech companies in India need to realize the importance of this. It is about creating that culture of long term focus on R&D.

Present within the ZIP file is a malicious Desktop file embedding commands to display a decoy PDF ("CDS_Directive_Armed_Forces.pdf") using Mozilla Firefox while simultaneously executing the main payload.
Both the artifacts are pulled from an external server "modgovindia[.]com" and executed. Like before, the campaign is designed to target BOSS (Bharat Operating System Solutions) Linux systems, with the remote access trojan capable of establishing command-and-control (C2) using WebSockets.
The malware supports four different methods for persistence, including creating a systemd service, setting up a cron job, adding the malware to the Linux autostart directory ("$HOME/.config/autostart"), and configuring .bashrc to launch the trojan by means of a shell script written to the "$HOME/.config/system-backup/" directory.

i think they should also be paying attention to malware/ scripts being spread using steganography methods utilizing multimedia files.
Tencent + Tsinghua just dropped a paper called Continuous Autoregressive Language Models (CALM) and it basically kills the “next-token” paradigm every LLM is built on.
Instead of predicting one token at a time, CALM predicts continuous vectors that represent multiple tokens at once.
Meaning: the model doesn’t think “word by word”… it thinks in ideas per step.
Here’s why that’s insane
→ 4× fewer prediction steps (each vector = ~4 tokens)
→ 44% less training compute
→ No discrete vocabulary pure continuous reasoning
→ New metric (BrierLM) replaces perplexity entirely
They even built a new energy-based transformer that learns without softmax no token sampling, no vocab ceiling.
It’s like going from speaking Morse code… to streaming full thoughts.

Manufacturing and industry in general is well poised for this. They have lots of sensor data , no issue of personal data and generally own their data as 1st party … great for root cause analysis etc… hope desi IT majors cater to this segment … I think some of the major names have already had a head start.
Some of Amirkhan humanoid robot guys are using people here to create training data for them doing chores like folding clothes etc. hopefully our guys can tap into this too
