Year-end alarm bells - Capital suggestion

Alarm bell number 1: From July to September, the federal government’s net revenue receipts stood at Rs369 billion. For the same period, the federal government’s debt servicing liability stood at Rs413 billion. Lo and behold, the federal government’s net revenue receipts are not even enough to cover debt servicing. For the record, net revenue receipts have never been so low ever.

The federal government must borrow to cover defence. The federal government must borrow to cover pensions – both civil and military. The federal government must borrow to cover the expenses of running the civil government. The federal government must borrow to cover public order and safety affairs. The federal government must borrow to cover environment protection. The federal government must borrow to cover health affairs. The federal government must borrow to cover the expenses on ‘culture and religion’. The federal government must borrow to cover all allocations for social protection.

Alarm bell number 2: For the first five months of the current fiscal year, the repatriation of foreign exchange in the form of profits and dividends on foreign direct investment stood at $591 million. For the first five months of the current fiscal year, the total foreign direct investment stood at $460 million. Lo and behold, Pakistan paid out $131 million more than what Pakistan received as foreign direct investment.

What this means is that foreigners are taking out more dollars from Pakistan than the dollars being invested into Pakistan by foreigners. This is both scary and unsustainable.

Alarm bell number 3: From July to November, our exports stood at $8.7 billion. For the period between July and November, our imports stood at $17.3 billion. Lo and behold, Pakistan’s goods deficit stood at a colossal $8.6 billion. For the period between July and November, the current account deficit reached $2.6 billion, widening by an alarming 91 percent year-on-year. On a pro-rata basis, an annual current account deficit in excess of $6 billion is both scary and unsustainable.

Alarm bell number 4: Between June 2013 and June 2016, the government took dollar loans. From the World Bank, ADB and Islamic Development bank, it took $9.7 billion. From the IMF, it borrowed $6.2 billion. Bilateral loans amounted to $3.6 billion while bonds issued stood at $3.5 billion. From commercial banks, it took $1.85 billion. That’s a total of $25 billion over three years (over the same period, $11.95 billion was spent in the repayment of previous loans). To be certain, all these new foreign loans would have to be paid back in dollars. Lo and behold, our exports are going down and foreign investors are taking out more dollars than they are bringing into Pakistan. Again, this is scary and unsustainable.

Alarm bell number 5: On October 13, the IMF completed its twelfth and the final review under the $6.2 billion Extended Arrangement. To be sure, the budget for 2016-17, under the direction of the IMF, kept a cap of 3.8 percent of GDP on the budgetary deficit. The IMF plan has come to an end and the election is coming up. Now, prepare for a ballooning budgetary deficit.

But, Cwapistan will become CPEC

Let’s bare our soul

Let us do this. Let us bare our soul – even if for a little while, even if just a bit. We stand on the edge of a precipice. We are held back by pure luck and circumstances from a freefall that we pretend cannot be our fate.

The state of key sectors that push civilisations on the path to progress and ensure decent survival is not just bad, it is worsening. We are a laggard in a fast-moving world with breathtaking breakthroughs in science and technology. We are at the bottom rung of the ideas market that is dominated by smart societies leapfrogging every passing year.

The UN tells us that we are behind the world average of progress in primary and secondary education by 50 and 60 years, respectively. Nearly six million children are out of school at the primary level. The total number of out-of-school children in all categories is almost four times as many as they used to be. Around 44 percent of children have stunted growth, which is directly related to malnutrition and undernourishment.

Even though it is an under-estimate, it is still a handy measure of reality: a staggering 16 million people are without access to clean drinking water, and this in a country with one of the highest levels of water stress per person. On the matrix of food and personal security, we score among the least advanced nations. In terms of producing babies, we are far ahead of the global average and therefore pose a clear and present danger of internal resource-war to ourselves. With one of the world’s highest levels of access to mobile phones, we sit among the ten lowest access-to-toilets nations – the only consolation being that we are ahead of India, half of whose 1.3 billion people defecate in the open.

With the embarrassing police-to-citizen, doctors-to-patient, case-to-adjudication, and tax-to-GDP ratios, we stand pretty much alone in combating ancient viruses, such as polio. We are among those rare countries that do not know how many people inhabit their land.

When a survey was conducted in Karachi among the youth of our business hub, a staggering 48.7 percent clearly stated their preference for building a future outside the country. And you can’t blame them. They belong to a generation that has seen each Pakistani born with a debt of well over one hundred thousand. Imagine repaying this in the coming years with every third citizen living below the poverty line. These and other such statistics are scary. They are depressing. They foul the mood and wreck the peace of mind. Woe betide them and those who bring them to our notice. But sadly, even they are not the truth: if anything, they are convenient euphemisms that hide broken lives and shattered homes. They cloak and not reveal an oppressed majority that has been reduced to cold numbers to make analysis manageable.

Pick up any sector – the dairy sector is one choice, considering the horrific details that have now surfaced with regard to packaged ‘liquid’ (since we cannot call it milk) – and you can put faces of millions of wronged and robbed citizens onto data that we analysts use no differently than funeral directors who discuss their burial scores over supper. Look at any column of any newspaper and the stories of stolen rights and brutalised humanity living a daily nightmare will hit you in the face in a staccato manner from all across Pakistan. And, yet, we all know (especially those of us who are in the business) that we under-report and self-censor. The full scope of reality that challenges every second home here is too cruel to be heard.

This is why the media, the establishment and politicians deploy stock tricks: report useful distractions (the CPEC), create ‘positive narratives’ (we are invincible) and produce false hope memes that engender a sense of temporary relief without actually providing one (all that Nawaz, Bilawal, Imran and the rest say fall in this category). This has been the trend since Independence, and it is not going to change just because calendario solar has pushed us into another new year.

It is not as if we are beyond fixing. No nation is ever so broken as to defy repair. However, first there has to be a bare-knuckled appreciation of the extent of the challenge at hand before a fixer’s job can begin. That crucial step is never taken. That appreciation is never done at any level. All you hear is a happy song and an insistence that we need to lift the national morale by constantly playing it. So everyone dances to this tune – eyes closed, hands clasped, lips sealed, denying horrendous realities howling from every cranny. This has gone on for so long that the whole state has become a state of denial – which preaches lies, sells fake dreams, and paints green and white over the writing on the wall in the vain hope that unhappy tidings will disappear.

Occasionally, even this state in denial does document the results of its abject failure in its most crucial test – of investment in the development of its citizens.

One such document came out towards the fag end of the previous year. The Public Service Commission Examiner’s Report documents the hair-raising degradation of human resource in this country. The document lists the performance of candidates aspiring to join the Civil Service of Pakistan – an offshoot of the Indian and Imperial Civil Service the British created after the 1857 War of Independence to control and manage the vast stretch of the Subcontinent.

This report makes for a truly sad reading. In attempting essay-related questions, a majority of these candidates with at least 15-years or more education expressed ideas in a way that were “not coherent, organised or focused on the topic. Random thoughts were brought together without any logic or reasoning or research-based facts and arguments. There was [a] lack of creativity which might be expected of candidates appearing in the competition exam.” The document adds, “The essays were also replete with errors of grammar, spellings and punctuation [and] in fact there was not a single script which was error-free.”

In the subject of Accounting, the report tells us that the performance of candidates was below average due to the lack of basic accounting concepts and principles and poor knowledge of business transactions. In Maths, only 17 candidates scored 40 percent and above; 88 candidates obtained marks below 40 percent, out of which 55 candidates scored zero marks. The maximum marks obtained by a candidate were 73. In Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Business Administration, Governance and Public Policy, History of Pakistan and India and International Law, the output was “pathetic” and “far below average”. In some cases, students simply filled answer sheets by repeating the question papers. In the Law paper, the report states “most students had no concept” of the subject (surprise, surprise). Only two percent of the candidates could get through the exam.

The few pages of the report, when read with reference to social sector indicators, tell you what the average citizen of this country has been reduced to: impoverished, wronged, shackled, stunted and incapable of reading, writing and thinking.

The system that promises to build shiny roads and trade hubs and boasts of stock market figures besides mentioning lofty ideals of fighting corruption and empowering the people is bogus. Its managers have no interest in making the citizen honourable human beings. They invest nothing in developing human resource. They don’t want to because that would shake their thrones. They all lie when they profess commitment to human dignity and the welfare of the people.

The country is going nowhere like this. No system that is so cruel to its members, that saps their energies, denies them their future, wrecks their dreams at every step of the way and stumps them constantly can bring prosperity. The burden of the neglected majority is too heavy to carry. It can sink the ship. That’s what we see when we bare our soul.

But, Cwapistan will become CPEC

"India, Pakistan exchange list of nuclear installations"
http://www.malaysiasun.com/index.php/sid/250592735
New Delhi [India], Jan.1 (ANI): India and Pakistan on Sunday exchanged respective list sof nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations between the two countries.

The exchange was done through diplomatic channels simultaneously at New Delhi and Islamabad.

"The agreement, which was signed on 31 December 1988 and entered into force on 27 January 1991, provides, inter alia, that the two countries inform each other of nuclear installations and facilities to be covered under the Agreement on the first of January of every calendar year," said a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

This is the twenty sixth consecutive exchange of such lists between the two countries, the first one having taken place on January 1, 1992.

The two neighbours also exchanged the lists of nationals of each country lodged in the jails of the other country consistent with the provisions of the Agreement on Consular Access between the two neighbours. (ANI)

Majyd Aziz weeps:
Pakistan's track record as a member of regional trade and cooperation blocs has been dismal and unfavourable. The country has not benefitted in any significant way nor has taken maximum advantage of the facilities and attractions provided by these blocs and organisations. Moreover, the domestic private sector has also been at fault in promotion of its products and services among trade partners. At times, other contentious issues, whether political, diplomatic, or territorial, have overshadowed trade and investment initiatives and movement.
...
The depressing fact is that Pakistan's political leadership, as well as private sector, has seldom attempted to give importance to the regional forums in the true sense. There is always a flurry of activity in attending and hosting meetings and conferences but when it boils down to brass tacks and essence, there is no institutionalised or cohesive plan of action to gain meaningful advantages and make pragmatic and profitable inroads. The famous quote in William Shakespeare's play, Julius Caesar, reflects the prevailing situation: “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars / But in ourselves, that we are underlings.”

Pakistan has Free Trade Agreements with Sri Lanka, China, and Malaysia while Preferential Trade Agreements have been signed with Iran, Indonesia, and Mauritius. This is Pakistan's record card. Every now and then, the Prime Minister or Commerce Minister announces the imminent signing of PTAs with a host of countries such as Turkey, South Korea, Thailand, Jordan, etc. Nothing much comes out of these statements and there is a standstill on the FTA/PTA front. Moreover, Pakistan has not taken maximum advantages in export enhancement while these agreements have been a boon for importers.
Therefore, in all sincerity, membership in regional forums is not helping Pakistan. A rethinking is required. Initially, Pakistan must announce unilateral suspending of membership in SAARC since the regional bloc has proved to be of little advantage. Pakistan would also not take active part in any organisation under the SAARC umbrella, such as SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SAFMA, etc. Instead, Pakistan must concentrate on connectivity with China, Russia, Iran, Afghanistan, and CARs, through multilateral and bilateral means.
I sincerely hope that Pakistan withdraws from SAARC.

'Proud to be Pakistani Hindu today': Senate body approves Hindu marriage bill
Top constitutional expert Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said the bill is in accordance with the essence of the Constitution.Ahsan clarified that the bill was not in contrast with Islamic jurisprudence as Islam emphasises protection of minorities.
Why go through this Isami farce AKA Taqiyya when everyone knows that (i) this is not going to stop the abduction, forced conversion and marriage of Hindu girls to Malsi (ii) when there won't be Hindus left in Pakiland , so there won't be a need of such a Bill .

Chambers voice concern at China’s plan to ‘set up industry along CPEC route’
GUJRAT - Cwapistani : The three chambers of commerce and industry of what is termed as “golden industrial triangle” comprising Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sialkot cities, have expressed their grave concern over China’s reported plan of establishing industrial units and warehouses along the route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The leadership of these three chambers has also urged the federal government to take the business community of these industrial cities in confidence about the nature of China’s planned industrial units in the country, warning of its adverse effect on local industry and apprehending that such a scenario might turn Pakistan into a purely consumer market, further weakening its own manufacturing sector.
These concerns were voiced by the presidents of the three chambers of commerce and industry, who gathered at the local chamber (GTCCI) the other day.
The meeting decided that the chambers’ presidents would also hold an exclusive meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to share their concerns over the Chinese industrial units along the CPEC route. It regretted the government had not taken the chambers in confidence over the issue.
Mr Bhutta said the local manufacturers’ concerns over the CPEC’s possible effects on the local industry should be addressed forthwith, apprehending that such a situation might hit exports from these cities.

Underage girls trapped in Pakistan bride exchanges

By Kathy Gannon

CROSS POSTED FROM TSP MULTI-MEDIA LINK - COURTERSY- G.SHANKAR-JI
AMPUR, Pakistan (AP) — Mohammad Ramzan can neither hear nor speak, and he has a childlike mind. But he knew his wife, Saima, was too young when she was given to him as a bride. The 36-year-old Ramzan smiles, eager to please, as he uses his fingers to count out her age when they married. One, two, three . . . until 13, and then he stops and looks at her, points and nods several times. The girl's father, Wazir Ahmed, says she was 14, not 13, but her age was beside the point. It mattered only that she had reached puberty when he arranged her marriage as an exchange: his daughter for Ramzan's sister, whom he wanted to take as a second wife. His first wife, Saima's mother, had given him only daughters, and he hoped his second wife would give him a son. But Sabeel wouldn't marry him until her brother had a wife to care for him.he would be a bride in exchange for a bride.
"We gave a girl in this family for a girl in their family," Ahmed says. "That is our right."In deeply conservative regions such as this one in the south of Punjab province, the tribal practice of exchanging girls between families is so entrenched, it even has its own name in Urdu: Watta Satta, which means give and take.A girl may be given away to pay a debt or settle a dispute between feuding families. She might be married to a cousin to keep her dowry in the family or, as in this case, married for the prospect of a male heir. Many believe that their Islamic religion instructs fathers to marry off their daughters at puberty."If it is not done, our society thinks parents have not fulfilled their religious obligation," says Faisal Tangwani, regional coordinator for the independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan in nearby Multan.ahmed sees the hand of God in his daughter's marriage to a disabled man.
"It was by God's will that he was chosen," he says. "It was her fate."Ahmed sits inside the mud-walled compound where he lives now with his two wives. Outside, stray dogs roam in packs of three and four. They bite, Ahmed warns. He says that the fact that Ramzan is nearly three times his daughter's age is irrelevant. But the legal marrying age here is 16, and in a rare move, police did investigate Saima's marriage after they received a complaint, possibly from a relative involved in a dispute with her father.Ramzan and Ahmed were jailed for a few days, but Saima testified in court that she was 16 and they were released. She says she told the authorities she was 16 to protect her father and husband. In Saima's world of crushing poverty, where centuries-old tribal traditions mix with religious beliefs, a crippling cycle traps even the perpetrators with a life's burden: a father who longs for a son to help support his family; a wife who must provide that son; a daughter who must become a mother even when she is still a child.
Saima's mother, Janaat, agrees with marrying off her daughters early. She says girls are a headache after they reach puberty. They can't be left at home alone for fear of unwanted sexual activity — or worse, the daughter leaves home with a boy of her choice."That would be a shame for us. We would have no honor. No. When they reach puberty quickly, we have to marry them," she says. "Daughters are a burden, but the sons, they are the owners of the house."She says she accepted her husband's marriage to another woman; after all, it's her fault he only has daughters.I feel shame that I don't have a son. I myself allowed my husband to get a second wife," she says. Her husband's new wife, Sabeel, says she agreed to marry Ahmed because of her brother. She wanted him to have a wife."No one had been willing to give their daughters to my brother," she says.Ramzan is quick to extend his hand to guests who enter through the torn and tattered curtain that hangs over the front door to his compound, tucked away in a narrow alley lined with open sewers.Ramzan's elderly parents live with him. His father rarely leaves his bed, saying he has trouble walking. His mother begs from morning until night, sometimes knocking on doors, other times parking herself in the middle of a dusty road, her hand outstretched for donations.Like Ramzan, she can neither hear nor speak. Both her hips and one knee have been broken. She gestures as if breaking a twig to explain her troubled knee.
Ramzan looks at Saima, her hair hidden beneath a sweeping shawl, her large brown eyes downcast."I didn't want to marry her so young. I said at the time, 'She is too young,' but everyone said I must," he says through a series of gestures interpreted by those around him. He held his hand up just below his chest, showing how tall she was when they married.Saima doesn't talk much. Her answers are short, and matter-of-fact."His sister and my father fell in love and they exchanged me," Saima says.
"Yes, I am afraid of my father, but it is his decision who I will marry and when."
She picks at the rope bed where she sits with Ramzan. Her husband often reaches to touch the top of her head.He gestures that he is afraid Saima will leave him one day, and says that God will be unhappy if she does. Saima had gotten pregnant soon after she came to live with Ramzan but lost the child at five months. Ramzan gestures that he wants Saima to take some medicine to help her get pregnant again.Saima rarely looks in his direction but says she has no quarrel with him, nor does she plan to leave.Saima says she understands her husband's gestures, but it's hard to know. Most of the translations are done by his 12-year-old niece, Haseena, Sabeel's daughter from the previous marriage.Haseena was 10 when Saima married her uncle Ramzan and her mother left to live with the new bride's father.Haseena stayed in the house with her uncle and her elderly grandparents to cook, clean and keep Saima company. She even prepared Saima's wedding dinner."When Saima married my uncle, my mother told me to leave school and be with Saima because she will be all alone at home," Haseena says.Haseena recalls that Saima seemed so young, the family felt sorry for her.
"At her age, she should have been playing."Back at Saima's old home, her 7-year-old sister, Asma, wanders around, shoeless, her hair matted with dirt and dust. Asma already has been promised to her cousin, who is about 10. They will marry when she reaches puberty.
Posted this to emphasize how young girls are traded like animal husbandry in Pakiland . This example is from the rural area of Pakistan; will not be surprised if "similar deals" are made between the RAPE families in the drawing rooms of Isloo, La-Whore and Krachi ; someone should personally draw the attention of this case to Mohartama Maryam Nawaz Sharif the self appointed guardian - in Pakiland - of the female sex

The Continuous Saga Of The Paki Census Drama :D

Population census to be held from March- Radio Pakistan

Chief Statistician of the Bureau, Asif Bajwa ( ever since the appointment of the new COAS, all the Paki Bajwas are coming out of the "woodwork" !)said the census will be conducted in two phases simultaneously in all the four provinces.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has announced to hold population census from March this year.Briefing media in Islamabad today[Monday], Chief Statistician of the Bureau, Asif Bajwa said the census will be conducted in two phases simultaneously in all the four provinces.Asif Bajwa said services of forty-five thousand security personnel will be sought for this exercise. He said in first phase in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, census will begin from Mardan and Peshawar, in Punjab from Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sargodha, in Balochistan from Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi and Makran and in Sindh from Karachi and Hyderabad. The census in the federal capital Islamabad will also be conducted in the first phase. He said in the second phase, census will be conducted in AJK, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA.
This BIG announcement is from the 'new' government owned propa-gandu mouthpiece of the Paki Establishment- RADIO PAKISTAN. So, it can easily be discounted. Has A. Bajwa checked with his biradar, Gen Qamar Bajwa (and the Deep State) if tensions with India, Afghanistan/ tribal areas have eased, and if the Balochistan unrest and the Karachi violence has been sufficiently controlled, so as to 'divert' the faujis for this 'civilian' duty.

Caution From Sri-Linka

Be wary of Chinese influence!
December 31, 2016, 6:33 pm
by Azhar Razak
Sri Lanka’s new government should be more cautious in not drifting back to Chinese state influence without counter weighing the balance of the more productive private sector investments coming from the West and India, a top economist has advocated.Associate Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, Professor Razeen Sally told a Colombo audience last week that the government should be wary of Chinese state capitalism as it is both a concern on the economic, as well as the security fronts."Although it is good the government has restored its foreign relations with China after the initial tussle over the Port City project, the island drifting back to China’s influence is a worry," he said."It is a worry on the economic front because the Chinese practice a different kind of capitalism, at least state capitalism. The kind of Chinese capitalism we have in Sri Lanka is the capitalism of the Chinese Communist Party, states and their proxies."I am not against that in principle as long it is balanced by healthier investment from the West and India," Sally said. However he noted the Chinese private sector was incredibly entrepreneurial."We should know what kind of rules this kind of (state) capitalism plays by. There is evidence of this in East Asia - that it is about buying up political and business elites. Do we really want to see that happen in Sri Lanka? It is already happening and it happened under the last government," Sally claimed. He therefore urged the media to scrutinize projects with China very carefully including the Hambantota projects."It is a security concern as well because we need to have good friendships all around, including the Americans, Europeans and the Indians."Let’s not forget that Chinese are playing the long game here and it is not just for commercial reasons. Hence we should not have any illusions about that," he warned.
The same caution, with respect to the much tauted CPEC ( Colonizing Pakistan To Enrich China ) has already been sounded by the sober sections of the Paki media ; but the Paki Establishment has already decided to hitch its future to the Chini- wagon, after they ditched Massa. ( or USA decided that enough of Paki perfidy !) And the added bonus is that the "new sugar daddy" is Anti- India as well. So, at least for now, things are rosy :)

In this new year, I am having a rethink on SeePack.

If we want al bakistan to get well and truly screwed and flushed down the counter clockwise swirls of history, we should all be supporting SeePack. Call it what it truly is - a perverse Schadenfreude. Why point out all the negative aspects of it when we should be extolling it's virtues? India (and Indians do not need SeePack or the chini maal that passes for low end chini exports for reasons of self preservation. The more SeePack stays within the confines of bakiland and the more its population serves as low level comfort people to their chini honey bilathels, the faster this pakturd gets to where it belongs - face down in the sewers of history.

However, India (and Indians) should be cautious on the potential outcome of the fall out.

CPEC passes through Indian territory illegally occupied by Pak. Try as much, it's impossible to extol the virtues of something that is an attempt to legtimise illegal occupation of Indian land.

A year of global terrorism, captured in one map

The five countries with the highest impact from terrorism as measured by the GTI are Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Pakistan and Syria. These five countries accounted for 72% of all deaths from terrorism in 2015.
Though the index identifies 274 distinct terrorist groups around the world, four groups – ISIS, Boko Haram, al-Qaeda and the Taliban – were responsible for 75% of all terror-related deaths.
Terrorism in Afghanistan is exclusively directed from Pakistan; Taliban and Al-Qaeda are active in Afghanistan, although the sponsorship of both these two groups is directed from Pakistan . Therefore, Pakistan ( and its Deep State Govt ) is a "major player" in International Terrorism, ( or if you prefer to call it The "IT "industry  ) .

PS: " Market rumours" are circulating that the the Pakistani Govt wants to "sell" this lucrative business to other well -known groups.

Pakistan’s to-be thriving port suffering from crippling water scarcity
ISLAMABAD: Imagine a deep-sea port where, while so-called development experts enjoy a breath-taking view from their regal five star hotel rooms located on the grand Koh-e-Batil hill, indigenous fishermen are left with little choice except migrating permanently to far-flung harbours.
Imagine a place where one of the most expensive commodities is a bottle of fresh water and though every now and then one finds a convoy of trucks escorted by military vehicles, fresh water tankers are scarce and expensive. Yes, this is the new boomtown – Gwadar smart port city – a project that is expected to open new vistas of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China.

This is the Paki norm in other sectors of government / economy also! where "action and/or implementation" is lacking because of whatever reason ( lack of funds, incompetency, lack of technical knowledge, loss of Enchendee etc etc )," Buzz words" make up the slack ( e.g. PM "orders" no load shedding on Eid, Chief Minister "directs" to expedite enquiry on rail mishap, PM "dispatches" envoys to "explain" Pak position on terrorism, Minister "reprimands" Managing Director etc etc . As if "ordering", "explaining", "dispatching" and "reprimanding" on paper and by mouth is going to solve the problem

I sincerely hope that Pakistan withdraws from SAARC.
Good riddance to bad rubbish; the plan of diplomatic isolation will be implemented !

More Pakistan National Airline Woes !

PIA’s air hostess arrested in Canada over theft allegations
An air hostess of Pakistan’s national carrier has been detained in Canada after she was caught stealing in CCTV footage of a department store. The air hostess, who arrived in Toronto from Lahore via Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK797, has allegedly been charged with shoplifting in Toronto, The Express Tribune reported. She was caught stealing in CCTV footage of the department store whose management handed over the footage to police. So, previously in collusion with other crew members , they were involved in smuggling of drugs from Pakistan; since this has become too risky now, they are resorting to petty theft to supplement their inadequate salary and /or high taste !
Canadian investigation team interrogated the air hostess and the flight’s captain who said that the employees are responsible for their actions after duty hours. The air hostess will be presented before Toronto court on Monday after which further investigation would be launched against her if found guilty. Canadian authorities should be cautioned not to take the Captain's words ; a possibility exists that all the crew members, including the Captain may be involved in an organized scam
“Investigations are underway, and strict action will be taken against the air hostess if found guilty,” PIA spokesperson Danyal Gilani said :(( . In August last year, the Anti-Narcotics Force claimed to have arrested a senior PIA air hostess from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in connection with an attempt to smuggle gold to the US.
A case was registered against the senior air hostess of the national flag carrier after two kilogrammes of gold were recovered from her luggage during a routine search at the airport, the paper said. So, no conviction yet but the case is still "pending" , awaiting "right sifarish" or "sufficient greasing of palms"

Pakistanis in Britain the ‘most backward community’: survey :)
A recent survey conducted by the British government has termed the Pakistani community living in Britain the 'most backward' among all the communities residing there. The survey results revealed that the number of unemployed Pakistani-origin men is three times as much as those from the white community. One in every four Pakistani drives a taxi as their main income source, the survey found. The survey further disclosed that 57% of Pakistani-origin women are either inactive – not part of the active workforce – or unemployed. This number is unusually higher than the proportion of inactive or unemployed women from other communities. The number of white women who are unemployed, in contrast, stands at 25%.The survey found that a number of Pakistanis face hurdles settling in Britain due to inadequate English-speaking skills.
Nothing new here; just confirms scientifically, what many had long suspected .

PTI Politician In Pindi Does A 420 (Fraud) On A UK Based Paki.

British-Pakistani businessman appeals to Pakistani authorities for justice, investigation
LONDON: A British-Pakistani businessman has appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and other relevant authorities for justice, claiming that an influential former Tehsildar-turned-politician has fraudulently occupied his expensive property in Rawalpindi after changing the land registry records secretly.Aftab Hussain of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, has alleged that a former Tehsildar of revenue department Rawalpindi, Chaudhary Muhammad Asghar fraudulently transferred the 66% share of his property on his own name vide sale deed no. 1014, dated 14-02-2013 Sub Registrar (U-1) Rawalpindi.Chaudhary Muhammad Asghar is Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s leader in Rawalpindi District and he stood for elections in PP-14 (Rawalpindi-XIV). There is no suggestion that allegations of property grabbing against Mr Asghar, PTI’s Rawalpindi City President, have anything to do with the PTI leadership. Immy's Party seems to attract some "unsavoury characters" ; whether he will be expelled or not, is a different matter altogether.
The British Pakistani businessman explains in his application to the Pakistani authorities that he, along with his father Haji Khadim Hussain and Sheikh Abdul Majeed (based in New York) purchased (in equal proportion) a commercial plot measuring 4 Kanals & 220 sq. ft situated at the main Murree Road, Near Rehmanabad, Rawalpindi, vide Sale Deed No. 196, Dated 10-01-2004, Sub Registrar Urban, Rawalpindi.Aftab Hussain says that Chaudhary Muhammad Asghar, who was his father’s friend, convinced him to construct a commercial plaza upon the said plot and offered his assistance.Aftab Hussain claims that he and his father instructed Muhammad Asghar to construct the plaza with the name of “Ashiyana Centre” at the said plot and paid “millions of Rupees” for its construction. After the multi-storey plaza was built, Chaudhary Asghar rented out shops of the plaza and regularly sent rental income to Aftab Hussain and his brother.
Aftab Hussain told Geo News that he came to know about the fraud when he went to Pakistan in March this year to get the land registry records updated to his name after his father passed away. Aftab Hussain says he was unable to get the record done due to shortage of time but Chaudhary Muhammad Asghar promised that he will take care of the inheritance matter in a matter of few weeks ( the usual "runaround" and false assurance given by all fraudsters  )but ended up transferring 66% share of the property on his own name – committing fraud against Aftab Hussain (33.3%), late Khadim Hussain (33.3%) and Sheikh Majeed (33.3%).
Aftab Hussain has written to the Chief Minister of Punjab and various other relevant forums requesting an investigation into the alleged fraud and transfer of the ownership to his name.Aftab Hussain and Chaudhary Asghar have been involved in joint business projects in the UK. Land registry records available with this correspondent show that the PTI's Pindi leader is registered as owner of a property in East London and his family members are linked with several properties. UK Land Registry's Title Number EGL114263 shows that Chaudhary Asghar owns 36 Quebec Road, Ilford, London, IG1 4IT. The registers Owners category shows that Shahida Parveen (wife of Chaudhary Asghar) controls this property with Asghar’s nephew Imran Ayub (of 47 Chigwell Road, South Woodford, London, E18 1NG) and Chaudhary M. Asghar (of House no.27, School Road, f-7/1, Islamabad, Pakistan). There is something fishy going on over here !.Desi Paki, Chaudhary Asghar holding a property in Londonistan !. Why bring Shahbaz ( a cancer patient ) into a family quarrel ; appeal s/b rejected
Land Registry records show that Mr Asghar owned 150 Wanstead Park Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 3TB until 2003 which was then transferred to a relative after an investigation was launched by the National Accountability Bureau.Land Registry records show that Chaudhary Asghar also owns two fast food businesses in London: Roosters Villa on 326 Walworth Road and Chicken Villa on 53 Camden High Street. When contacted for his version on his phone, Chauhdary Asghar said he was unable to speak but a family member of Mr Asghar from London contacted and explained background of the dispute. He confirmed that Mr Asghar has properties in London because “he comes from a wealthy family”. He said that Mr Asghar “owned leases” of two businesses for business visa reasons. He was not aware whether Chaudhary Asghar had declared his properties in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) records. ( Did Ganja Sharif, Dus Percenti and the Kaptaan declared all their oversees holdings ; so why pick this "poor politician" for punitive punishment . ) He said that dispute between Mr Asghar and Aftab Hussain was of “family nature”.

Donations to Edhi foundation drop by 25% as workers face propaganda from religious and political outfits

Sad to see that the legacy of Sattar Edhi - The "Mother Theresa" Of Pakistan - is being eroded.
It’s been six months since Faisal Edhi buried his father, Abdul Sattar Edhi, Pakistan’s legendary philanthropist.
If the government really wants to help, says his son, it could exempt the foundation from federal taxes and provide it with an amnesty to import a fleet of ambulances. Shame on Ganja's Govt, when he can import BMW's and Mercedes duty free, gift them to his cronies and yet cannot exempt ambulances for the poor and needy
In the last six months, a full-throated propaganda against the welfare organization has only grown louder. The attacks, although not new, are personal, directed at the family’s beliefs. They come in from two fronts – hard-lined religious groups and political parties. “The religious charities accuse us of being non-Muslims,” explains Edhi seated in his father’s office. “When we are not infidels, we are blamed for being sympathetic to a political party.”
“I do get a little nervous sometimes thinking about managing it all,” he admits. But Edhi draws some solace from his father’s final words, “Do not stop helping the poor,” the elder Edhi whispered, frail and weak, “The poor are alone.”

This is not an original discovery ! "Everyone" - even the Aam Abduls of Gwadar - know this, except maybe the "Cambridge graduate cum management consultant"!. Even If the dam (mentioned in the farticle !) is built on time, there is going to be a water deficit of 90% ! . Time to petition "Chini blother" to built a couple of de-salinization plants under the umbrella of CPEC

Immy the dim Khan - Wajib-ul-Qatal

Imran Khan faces blasphemy allegations, to be declared “kaafir” unless he publicly apologizes: Religious group issues serious warning
Pir Muhammad Afzal Qadri, a religious scholar who issued Fatwa of infidelity against Shaan Taseer, has written an open letter to Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan over his alleged speech regarding prophet Muhammad (PBUH), warning him of ‘dire consequences’ if he doesn’t render an apology
The Fatwa alleges that Imran Khan, in one of his speeches, had said blasphemous sentences for the Prophet
If the state fails to execute Imran Khan, it wouldn’t be a crime if any ‘aashiq-e-Rasool’ (lover of prophet P.B.U.H) kills him. He will be exempt from Qisas and Diyat (blood money)

Imran Khan to be declared ‘Kaafir’ unless apologises publicly
LAHORE – A religious scholar from Gujrat has issued a fatwa against Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan over his alleged speech regarding prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and demanded an open apology.
Pir Muhammad Afzal Qadri, who earlier issued Fatwa of infidelity against Shaan Taseer, has written an open letter to PTI leader Imran Khan over his alleged speech regarding prophet Muhammad (PBUH), warning him ‘dire consequences’ if he doesn’t render an apology. It was alleged in the Fatwa that that Imran Khan, in one of his speeches, had said blasphemous sentences for the Prophet (PBUH).
Just recently, Qadri had also issued a ‘Kufr’ fatwa against Shaan Taseer, son of the slain Governor Salman Taseer, for allegedly committing blasphemy in his ‘Christmas special’ video message.
It is pertinent to note that under the National Action Plan (NAP), religious extremism and persecution was outlawed.
It is also pertinent to note that the Kaptaan's Islamic piety has sometimes been questioned by the Mullah Brigade; taking into consideration his past track record in this "department" ( his marriage to "Yahudi" Jemima Goldsmith, and the paternity suit filed by Sita White, - a girl born out of wedlock- which Immy vigorously denies; and of course, his past two divorces !) then there is the question of Imran "coming to Islam" so very late in his life, after sowing some pretty wild oats ! ; so, I don't blame this particular Mullah for this fatwa- action against the PTI Chief ; knowing the Kaptaan's giant size ego, the Pir can forget about an apology

The fact that the much learned Pi has chosen to issue a letter to Imran Khan rather than issuing the fatwa immediately means that the cleric is willing to 'settle' the issue amicably for some consideration. If Imran Khan has blasphemed, he *HAS* blasphemed. Where is the need to write a letter on such a serious matter asking for apology? Is apology even allowed for blasphemers? By 'accepting' the apology, the Pir himself will be blaspheming !!

Christmas message leads to death threats in Pakistan
Son of former governor killed for supporting blasphemy law reforms threatened after solidarity messages with victims.
A Christmas message calling for prayers for those charged under Pakistan's blasphemy laws has led to death threats against the son of a provincial governor killed five years ago for criticising the same laws.
The case highlights the continuing influence in Pakistan of Muslim hardliners who praise violence in the name of defending Islam, despite a government vow to crack down on religious conservatism.
The hardliners called for mass protests if police do not charge activist Shaan Taseer with blasphemy against Islam - a crime punishable by death.
Taseer's father, Punjab governor Salman Taseer, was gunned down by his bodyguard for championing the case of a Christian woman, Asia Bibi, who was sentenced to death under the blasphemy laws.
He had been advocating reforms in the blasphemy laws that are used to mostly harass minority groups.
In a video message posted on his Facebook page, Taseer, a Muslim, is seen wishing a happy holiday to Christians, and also asking for prayers for the woman and others victimised by what he called "inhumane" blasphemy laws.

Sanitation workers not to collect garbage today - DAWN
KARACHI: Workers of the civic agencies have announced that they would not collect garbage from the city on Tuesday (today) in protest against the government’s plan to hand over solid waste collection to a Chinese company.

Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Monday, the local government anti-privatisation committee leaders — Zulfiqar Shah, Kaneez Fatima and others — said that garbage collection was the function of the civic agencies and they would not allow the government to hand this function over to a private company.

They said the government was giving a large amount to the Chinese company for garbage collection while the civic agency workers have offered to do the job at half the cost, yet their offer was not being accepted. They said that the people will also have to pay more as the Chinese company would sell its plastic bags in which the garbage would be collected.

They said that currently around 10,000 workers were doing the job of cleaning and sweeping and over 7,000 of these were over 50 years of age, having over 25 years of service, and if the government did not take back its plan to privatise garbage collection, then all of the workers would resign and the government would not have the resources to clear their dues.

They said that as a first step the workers would not collect garbage on Tuesday and if the government did not accept their demand, they would develop a strategy against the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board that was handing over garbage collection to the Chinese company.

US initiates process for resolving Pakistan-India water dispute

The "deadline" for resolving this "dispute" ( if, it can be called that! ) is January 20, 2017, when the new Trump Sarkar comes into power. Trump has vowed that he will start with a clean slate in certain important areas . Kerry, as they say, is a "lame-duck" Sec. of State. Therefore, the above -mentioned news should be handled with caution

From Sushant Sareen
But on the eve of 2017, there are once again some straws in the wind that suggest another thaw might just be in the offing. The LoC has been more or less quiet ever since the Pakistani DGMO spoke to his Indian counterpart after the fierce fire assaults by the Indian army against Pakistan army posts; Prime Minister Modi wished Nawaz Sharif on his birthday (albeit through twitter); the Indian side didn’t respond to the Nagrota attack, probably in order to see if the new Pakistan army chief would follow a policy different from his predecessor; Pakistanis released over 200 Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture; in a backhanded sort of way, the chief of Pakistan Army’s Southern Command ‘invited’ India to join CPEC and ‘share the fruits of future development by shelving the anti-Pakistan activities and subversion’ (which in real terms means absolutely nothing, but purely from the point of view of optics is seen as a gesture). Some Pakistani newspapers and analysts are already speculating that both countries could re-engage after the end of the assembly elections around March 2017. Meanwhile, a purported interview of an unnamed Indian diplomat suggests that Prime Minister Modi might make yet another overture to Pakistan.

Donald Trump won't tolerate 'dual role' from India's neighbours, says US's Republican Hindu Coalition

NEW DELHI: US President-elect Donald Trump reportedly made it clear to a US Republican Hindu group that he's "not going to tolerate a dual role from India's neighbours."

Shalabh Kumar, an Indian-American businessman and founder of the Republican Hindu Coalition told ANI that this was the message Trump conveyed in his meetings with him. Kumar is part of Trump's transition team.

"The US President-elect made that policy very, very clear, that he is not going to tolerate a dual role from India's neighbours,"
said Kumar referring to Pakistan.

"You need good defence cooperation among friends, which is happening but is going to accelerate dramatically in the common fight against terrorism ,"
Kumar added, according to ANI.

Kumar is reportedly closely associated with the BJP and the RSS, according to The Economic Times. He held a rally for Trump in New Jersey, in the final leg of the Presidential campaign, and donated a whopping $898,000 (approximately Rs 6 crore) towards Trump's campaign.

Another of Kumar's goals - and Trump's, according to him - is to increase trade between India and the US in one year to $300 billion from the current $100 billion. "That will be a win-win for both sides as both will gain millions of jobs," Kumar said.

Kumar and his daughter Manasvi Mamgai , a former Miss India, also revealed there will be Bollywood celebrities performing at Trump's inauguration as President on January 20.

"You will see Bollywood biggies, Bollywood entertainment and all the 'jhatkas' and 'matkas'," Mamgai said.

She was extremely hopeful about Trump's relationship with India.

"I think Trump is going to be the best US president for India so far as he has shown support to us, he's very vocal about it," Mamgai said.

In November, after Trump's win, Kumar said he was confident the President elect will approve a bill to declare Pakistan a terror state. "President Trump and PM Narendra Modi will undoubtedly share a good chemistry," he said back then.
In September, two influential US Congressmen, for the first time ever, introduced a legislation to designate Pakistan a terror state by the administration in Washington. Congressman Ted Poe, chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, along with Congressman Dana Rohrabacher introduced the 'Pakistan State Sponsor of Terrorism Designation Act' in the House. The legislation calls on the US administration to provide a report on designating Pakistan a state sponsor of terrorism.

What is wrong with the Indian Government? Why is it wanting to have additional 31 Routes? Seemingly this is being done to facilitate the Cwapistani Terrorists. Grateful for views of fellow Members of B-RF.

India plans new seven cross-LoC routes

HELD SRINAGAR: India is exploring the possibility of opening seven new cross-LoC (also Working Boundary) routes, notwithstanding the tensions with Pakistan, four of which are likely to be opened mainly to the divided families during 2017, reported the Indian media. “The state government is discussing with the Union Home Ministry the opening of four new routes this year which include Jammu-Sialkot, Chhamb Jourian–Mirpur, Gurez-Astoor-Gilgit and Jhanger (Nowshera)-Mirpur,” Governor NN Vohra said during his speech to the joint sitting of the held Kashmir legislature.

He added that opening of three other routes – Kargil-Skardu, Turtuk-Khapulu, and Titwal-Chilhan (across the Neelum Valley) were also being explored. The governor also said that despite the recent disturbances on the borders, cross-LoC trade had continued unabated and up to end of March 2016, at an aggregate, recorded import worth about Rs4,000 crore of Pakistani currency and export worth about Rs2,600 crore of Indian currency. “A list of 21 more tradable items has been submitted to the Government of India for taking up this matter with the Government of Pakistan,” he said, adding that the confidence building measures of opening additional trade routes was being pursued.

Every Confidence Building Measure and Aman Ki Nirasha events have lead to Increased Cwapistani Terrorist Attacks. What brand of Locoweed is the Indian Government smoking? :(
