Those are some very serious allegations. Has it always been like this for UPSC? I always thought that UPSC represented the best and brightest of the country.Rahul M wrote:the curriculum pattern and the UPSC interview process (which in UPA time was led my marxist/maoist pro-naxal academics) focus heavily on selecting people from the nehruvian 'idea of India' crowd who think they are 'world citizens', look down upon patriotism and are heavily left leaning. A few normal people might get through but only if they keep their beliefs under wraps. The question pattern is heavily suggestive and the answer sheet checking is done by DU/JNU profs who again are heavily left leaning and shamelessly partisan.
for near 3 decades, may be more, the suggested reading for UPSC aspirants has been N Ram's Hindu. Multi-stage filters were there at question setting, answer checking & interview process so that only those who could internalise that worldview would get through. At no stage is the basic loyalty of a candidate towards India or its constitution ever considered. The police verification is a sham since it's a formality as long as no criminal case exists.
This hasn't changed one bit even after NDA-II.
Now of course, there's the zakat foundation gaming the system to get jihadis into the services. And of course, for long there has been a steady flow of evangelical bigots in the system, mostly from NE but also from southern states like KL, TN etc.
IISC , ISRO , RRCAT , BARC, TIFR they don't select via UPSC. You know which departments come under the ambit of UPSC , the brightest generally don't even apply there (not speaking about myself).Mort Walker wrote: Those are some very serious allegations. the best and brighest, somewhat true. you certainly need lots of stamina and memory. in past 10 years or so the pattern has moved on to more opinion based questions from fact based ones (which used to favour the mugging up aspirants). but at the end of the day UPSC exam tests a candidate's ability to write the UPSC exam, nothing more, nothing less.Mort Walker wrote:Those are some very serious allegations. there is some act of omission or commission by the SC that has riled the lefties and that means involvement of minorities from europe and specifically rome.vijayk wrote:Wire, scroll and quint published some woman's harassment charges on CJI to force him on Rafale or Pappu's hearing on 22.

I have been saying this for years. A quick reminder for those who wish to know how the Cantab system works is that the MPhil for Land Economic, Dev Studies are usually granted to sportsmen mainly rowers and rugger buggers to burnish their academic status and credentials. In addition they are granted to the offspring of middle eastern potentates whom the UK government wishes to court. In vinci's case, it was paid for by the EU/Uk government so that he is beholden to them.chetak wrote:his phoren educational certificates are in the name of raul vinci, Indian ones in name of rahul gandhi, he seemingly has citizenship of UK as well as italy, both of which permit dual citizenship but India automatically cancels the Indian citizenship of any Indian found with the dual citizenship of another country.KL Dubey wrote:It looks like Pappu is in real trouble over the citizenship issue due to a complaint from an independent candidate in Amethi. The sudden and unexected "sexual misconduct" strike on the CJI, completely out of the blue, may have a lot to do with this rapidly escalating issue and that too in an election year just as the liar is filing his nomination.
BTW, the "independent candidate" has been woken up from a very deep sleep and he has "filed" his objection.
Good tactical move.
AFAIK, commonwealth citizens are eligible to vote in UK under some conditions(not sure what those are). one of my friends voted while doing his post-doc there. He was certainly an Indian citizen at the time.rgosain wrote: ....

a born in pak, trusted and acknowledged lootyens acolyte was heading the privileges committee in the parliament and this very same matter of pappu raul vinci was referred to him in the fond and not unreasonable hope of a quick resolution some years ago.rgosain wrote:I have been saying this for years. Could these kind of interruptions be orchestrated to change the order of seniority for future CJIs? I.e if these allegations end up forcing the current CJI to resign/retire?fanne wrote:see jee eye

all PSU's and research institutes like IIT's make their own selections. even DRDO conducts its own exams.Mort Walker wrote:Don’t IIT lecturers come under UPSC selection?negi wrote: IISC , ISRO , RRCAT , BARC, TIFR they don't select via UPSC. Absolutely correct - "commonwealth citizens" (including Indian citizens) are eligible to vote in any UK election from local to parliament, hold public office, run for parliament etc., assuming they entered the country legally and have stayed there long enough to gain the "leave to remain".Rahul M wrote:AFAIK, commonwealth citizens are eligible to vote in UK under some conditions(not sure what those are). one of my friends voted while doing his post-doc there. The Nehruvian influence was known, but IIRC retiremment age is 60 for IAS. The people who are well established in the IAS should be their mid to late 40s. This would be people who were born in the late 1970s and their world views should have formed by the early 1990s.Supratik wrote:We here in BRF knew about it at least 20 yrs back.
they will have to keep at least a perfect neutral facade, if not a lean towards left in order to get through. There are statistically negligible exceptions though. one good thing that has happened is that more STEM walas have taken the dive and they tend to be more grounded in facts and logic than the airy fairy artsy types. anyway, OT.Mort Walker wrote:The difference between wanting to serve vs. job security is always there. Anyway all of this is off topic and I won’t say anymore to derail this thread. I have relatives appearing for UPSC exams and I know their world view is more like mine. Perhaps having this view will keep them from being selected.
Did you see the slap on Hardik Patel in Surendranagar? Pretty much sums up the state of CONgoons in Gujarat. +1 Ramana. Exactly the same thing has been going through my mind. Fear of a wronged woman's shaapam has kept our civilization virtuous without need of policing. Sadly BJP let alone Congress or media seem out of touch.ramana wrote:abhijitm wrote: I don't blame her. She is physically and emotionally hurt. I can understand her feelings. Don't want to sound melodramatic but curse of an innocent woman brings down empires.
Whole epic of Silippadikaram is about how the sea rose up to fulfill Kannagi's curse on Madurai.
To chide Sadvi Pragya is to deny our culture and heritage.
Well if Kannagi was in the syllabus of UPSC, there wouldn't have been Congress, BJP, Sadvi to talk about. It would have been real India.KLNMurthy wrote:+1 Ramana.
