there was a fake sikular report on "killing fields of UP" on CNN about communal troubles in UP
footages of mostly muslim areas in muzzafarbad and bareilly were shown with one token hindu victim
muslim shopkeeper complaining his shop was burnt and 3 neighbouring hindu owned ones not
a hack job on the koran thrown from some train.....youths stormed the police station and started firing and the police fired back killing 6...all the blame on police...no explanation why a torn koran should lead green stormtroopers to attack the police stn....one father of a teenage dead guy interviewed....again he was 99% part of the mob enthusiastically throwing stones probably. a couple of madrasa types claiming that no local was involved and it was all "outsiders"
finally the footage of some "sinister Sadhvi" was sinisterly seen in saffron robes roaming around and "giving hate speeches"

makes it seem there's a genocide against muslims going on in the rohilla sultanate under the BJP sponsorship.

an attempt by INC to corral together its muslim sheep I think. maybe wean them away from SP promising better "protection" for the "Qaum"

I got the following email from friend an of mine
Recently, India's most well-known film script-writer Salim Khan (actor Salmaan Khan's father) has said to a senior journalist in an interview: "Does anyone remember who the chief minister of Maharashtra was during the Mumbai riots which were no less deadly than the Gujarat riots of 2002?

Does anyone recall the name of the chief minister of UP during Malliana and Meerut riots or that of the Bihar CM when the Bhagalpur or Jamshedpur riots under Congress regimes took place?

Do we hear names of earlier chief ministers of Gujarat under whose charge, hundreds of riots took place in post-Independence India?

Does anyone remember who was in-charge of Delhi's security when
the 1984 massacre of Sikhs took place in the capital of India?

How come Narendra Modi has been singled out as the Devil Incarnate as if he personally carried out all the killings during the
riots of 2002?"

No speck of doubt about what Salim Khan has said.

When one says Gujarat's agriculture growth is 10-11% since whole last decade
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says he made the Asia's biggest solar plant,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says Gujarat is the only state in the whole of India to provide 24*7 and 365 days electricity to almost all of its 18,000
villages,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says - World Bank's statement of 2011 said, Gujarat roads are equivalent to international standards,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says Gujarat is the first State in country to have "high speed wireless Broadband service in its all 18,000 villages,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says Forbes Magazine rated Ahmadabad as the fastest
growing city in India and 3rd in the world,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says Gujarat Tourism is growing faster than ever before,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says according to central govt's Labour Bureau's report, Gujarat has the lowest unemployment rate in country,
The other says 2002 Riots!

When Narendra Modi is being chosen as the best current Indian leader in
almost all surveys & polls again and again
The other says 2002 Riots!

When one says 2003-2013 are the only 10 straight years in Gujarat history which are totally riot-free,
The other STILL says 2002 Riots!

But when we remind them about riots which occurred during Congress and in Communist Party rule :

1947 Bengal....5,000 to 10,000 dead ...CONGRESS RULE.

1967 Ranchi....200 DEAD..........CONGRESS RULE.

1969 Ahmedabad...512 DEAD........CONGRESS RULE.

1970 Bhiwandi....80 DEAD.............CONGRESS RULE.

1979 Jamshedpur..125 DEAD......CPIM RULE (COMMUNIST PARTY)

1980 Moradabad...2,000 DEAD...CONGRESS RULE.

1983 Nellie Assam.....5,000 DEAD...CONGRESS RULE.

1984 anti-Sikh Delhi...2,733 DEAD...CONGRESS RULE

1984 Bhiwandi....146 DEAD....CONGRESS RULE

1985 Gujarat.....300 DEAD..CONGRESS RULE

1986 Ahmedabad......59 DEAD.....CONGRESS RULE

1987 Meerut....81 DEAD...CONGRESS RULE

1989 Bhagalpur......1,070 DEAD......CONGRESS RULE

1990 Hyderabad......300 PLUS DEAD....CONGRESS RULE

1992 Mumbai....900 TO 2000 DEAD....CONGRESS RULE

1992 Aligarh....176 DEAD.....CONGRESS RULE

1992 Surat.......175 DEAD.....CONGRESS RULE

they become totally deaf ..................because they have no answer.

Congress is a government of hypocrites.

The youth of India says:............

We are not interested in 2002, We are interested in 2022

Congress Party – The Idea Thief

Over the years, I have come across at least 4 such areas of concern.

1. Congress, for no real rhyme or reason, repealed Freedom of Information Act 2002, and replaced it with Right to Information Act 2005.
2. Then it changed the name of Free & Compulsory Education for Children Bill 2003, to Right to Education Bill
3. Then it tampered with Food for Work Program, which BJP itself had brought back to life only, and replaced it with NREGA
4. Lastly, and recently, a program launched in December 2000, Antyodaya Anna Yojana, which is even today a running program, was replaced with Food Security Act 2013

What has Congress done in each case?

While a detailed study of each of these cases will take much time and will surely be carried out before the coming elections, a quick look at what has been done is important.

Is Amitav Ghosh releasing a book soon? No.
Is he nominated for an award? No.
Did he win an award recently? No.

Yet, media takes his interview and all it prints is his statement on Modi. How difficult is it for someone of his stature to get the fact that Congress and its friends in media are just using people like him as pawns in the political game to further their vested interests? Or maybe he is willingly part of it all. Imagine Congress cronies in the media sending out mass email to the so called "intellectuals" asking if anyone wants to be on TV and this guy replying to it first.

UPA has misruled for 9 years and this guy comes on TV to give an opinion on opposition PM candidate? And media, we are told by the media, that it is the 4th pillar of democracy #lulz. So much the 4th pillar that it hasn't cared once to interview anyone about performance of a Govt in power for 9 straight years.

I am totally fine if anyone does not want Modi as PM. But if somebody doesn't think UPA has mismanaged this country for 9 years and doesn't deserve a 3rd term, they are just being intellectually dishonest period.

Like it or not, Congress has been and is the default program of India. Even when not mounted in the Indian RAM, it had enough intellectual support to render influence.
Remember, only the Govt. changes .. nobody touches the coteries like left wing, lutyens delhi etc. As someone said recently, even Vajpayee didn't try to do it.
True that NaMo is a different machine altogether but we're yet to see what transpires in his pan India rule. So I'm not holding my breath.

Unreal Report: The final 24 hours leading to Narendra Modi’s coronation as BJP’s PM candidate
At one point, things got so chaotic that Rajnath Singh landed up at Jaitley’s house and Jaitley landed up at Ranjath’s house as there was a communication mix-up over who would land at whose house. Fortunately, they connected over whatsapp and decided to meet in Andhra Bhavan for coffee to firm up their strategy before heading to Advani’s house for a record 1,345,92344th time this year.As more BJP meetings got underway over chai and sugar, there were reports of sugar and milk shortage from other parts of the country
Rajnath Singh's wife (angry at his frequent comings and goings): "Why don't you just take your stuff and move to Advaniji's house

upper echelons of every admin service, universities, media, art is stocked full of INC sympathizers. to cleanse this vast swamp is a decade of work, just a non-Congi becoming PM is not a magic bullet. some quick steps like putting the heat on the mediacrooks dealings can be taken ofcourse, many would likely flee to dubai or think tanks in the west to take up duty as "exiled sakharov dissident/sikular in residence" and purvey their trash from there...hoping the congis return after 1 term. but in most cases the troublemakers will have to be shunted and hung out to dry until eventual retirement...they cannot just be replaced under the rules.

they will only lose hope and disperse if congis lose 3 consecutive terms.

One of the biggest lesson of NDA's tenure, is unable to play media game to its advantage. NaMo knows the media games very well. He might have a plan to tackle them. I bet, even it will be one of the first-to-do list is to tame media.

Anyhow, Radai to Rajdeep, everybody has something to hide. All Modi needs is some coercion, persuasion and bringing up covertly new media faces and companies so that we can have old tamed jackals and new Indian tigers in media pack.

The mortal fear of mediawalahs is Congress sabotaging their career once they switch sides after power shift. They would like to have one over-controlled master and are doing every bit to salvage that situation. To assuage their fears, NaMo should concrete real wheeler-dealers in Congress like Janardhan Trivedi, Ahmed Patel, etc so that their blackmail power is checkmated.

Modi, needs to follow the Gujarat model when dealing with the pressitutes. i.e Let law take its own course. The supreme court has already directed that the Radia Tapes be studied for criminality in them. Let this process be taken to its logical conclusion. The pressitutes will be taken our of the picture by it self.

Happy Birthday Narendra Modi!
To move out of abject poverty and beyond a tea stall towards a path of service to the nation as a Pracharak, is a minor miracle itself, for not many in India get such an opportunity at redemption. One need not go far to understand the magnitude of this minor miracle, for we have the examples of the other 5 children of Damodardas who have lived an ordinary unremarkable life, which should have also been the logical trajectory of his third son.

Then, a relatively young Pracharak aged 37 was bequeathed to Gujarat BJP in 1987. That was the era of two titans in Gujarat BJP – Vaghela and Keshubhai – who literally ruled the state unit as their personal fiefdom. Once again, this 37 year old Pracharak should have simply had an ordinary political career which should have possibly ended either as a corpoartor in the local municipal or at best as a legislator in the state assembly. Understand the odds that were stacked against him – he had no money power, no pedigree and worst of all he had no dominant caste backing. He came from a Other Backward Caste which itself was a miniscule minority in the state of Gujarat – a severe handicap in the Indian political scenario, which is even more enhanced in an upper caste-dominated party like BJP.

To rise from an ordinary Pracharak to the chief strategist of the 1995 electoral success of BJP in Gujarat was another miracle brought about by his sheer talent and hard work. His persistence against all odds helped him to become the third pole of Gujarat BJP by mid-1990s, despite all the visible handicaps. Yet there was no halo around his head even then and he should have ended up as a mid-level political manager in the right-wing party of India. This was the trajectory that was chosen for him by the party when he was banished to Delhi as he had started to grow too big for Keshubapa’s comfort. For all we know, he should have ended up as just another manipulator in the corridors of power of Dilli, but destiny had other plans for him.

In the aftermath of the Bhuj earthquake, Gujarat’s BJP Government was facing one of the toughest challenges in its chequered history and once again he was given the unenviable task of leading Gujarat out of this morass when he was suddenly made the Chief Minister of the state on October 7, 2001. In less than four months after assuming the CM’s office, Gujarat witnessed one of its worst riots in the aftermath of the Godhra train burning. From that day onwards, began his battle against fate. His first challenge was to win the 2002 Assembly elections, which he did in style despite not having the backing of any dominant caste-matrix. From then on, he went on to win two more terms in 2007 and 2013 against a million odds. He went against every known conventional political judgement in India – not giving free power to farmers, ruthlessly pursuing the path of justice even against his core-vote pullers of Hindu organisations and refusing to give away doles to get easy votes. Yet he kept on winning in his battle against fate.

Lilo Ji, it is mainly about the Opium trade between Indian Merchant Class (Parsis) and Chinese during British Raj. Takes you to many continents and countries.

It is very well researched and nitty gritty of how the trade actually happened and good read. Explains the root of Parsi success in India was based on cash from China and financing of British efforts in Caribbean. Plus story of Bihari immigrant struggles in Caribbean.

Could be nothing, or perhaps a Modi splinter in JD(U) armor?
A minister of JD (U) government has said that he agress with Modi on the border issues raised in Rewari rally.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.firstpost.com/politics/troub ... 12971.html

Patna: A minister in the JD(U) government in Bihar today endorsed comments by Narendra Modi, the newly-appointed prime ministerial candidate of former ally BJP, that the border trouble with Pakistan and China could only be solved by a strong leadership.

“I support him 100 per cent for saying that India’s troubles along the borders with Pakistan and China are due to a weak leadership in Delhi,” said Gautam Singh, the Science and Technology minister in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet.

Singh’s support for Modi is bound to raise eyebrows within JD(U) considering the fact that Kumar’s aversion to Modi is no secret.

The minister, who has a background in defence forces, said it was due to the country’s weak leadership that Pakistan had dared to behead Indian soldiers recently at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

“China has encroached on our land and is regularly moving towards fresh Indian territory only due to the fact that, given our weak leadership, we are not in position to resist them,” said the minister who took voluntary retirement from Danapur regiment to enter politics.

Asked how JD(U) would take his praise of Modi, Singh said he does not see any reason for his party to get angry over this.

Singh is related to one of the soldiers, sepoy Premnath Singh, killed recently in cross-border firing by Pakistani forces in Poonch district of J-K.

He said that being an ex-serviceman, he agreed with what Modi had said about Army and border problems at Rewari in Haryana yesterday.

“If somebody says Bharat Mata ki jai, what is the harm in joining the chorus?” he wondered.

Second line of command in Modi’s Gujarat
Narendra Modi, now the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, is unlikely to have a deputy chief minister shouldering his responsibilities in Gujarat when he expands his cabinet in November, party sources say. Rather than power being handed over to a single leader, his duties will be shared among three ministers who have his faith — Anandi Patel (revenue), Nitin Patel (finance) and Saurabh Patel (energy and petrochemicals).
"The 11 portfolios handled by Modi will get unofficially divided among the top three," said a BJP source. "Anandi Patel may get the responsibility for the highest number of departments, but no one is likely to get absolute power."

#paidmedia has been trending since yesterday with no apparent reason.
Guess twitterati underneath are really miffed that media gave (as usual) a biased account to NaMo's elevation to PM nominee and the subsequent Rewari rally,# faujiwithmodi (which trended for one and half day in India and even internationally for a while) was virtually ignored without any decent coverage. Asaram's disciples too joined thebandwagon holding media responsible .

Mediacrooks had a good article which also speaks about underlying reasons for the current upswell

IIRC, he enjoyed the position equivalent to that of a cabinet minister for the Adhar project. So in a way this becomes of a logical progression from that.

Don't know how good his managerial talents are. If he is contesting on an INC ticket. He is removing himself from the equation, if the opposition comes to power. That may be a loss to the nation.

I don't think the nation would be missing him much. Another over-hyped case like Narayana Murthy et.al. There are folks like E. Sreedharan who did a good job, even without a cabinet minister rank.

per one infy old timer who I know nilekani was the brains and thrust behind the rise of infy while revered founder also had(has?) a lot of stature. he was not so admiring of the other founders. he was never high enough to work with them directly so all water cooler old timer gossip.
