Some jokes write themselvesMeanwhile, just a day after a close aide of retired Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa reportedly claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan used to call up the former army chief for every little matter, including political issues, and addressed him as “boss”, the PTI chief categorically denied the claim, saying he never used that title for Gen Bajwa, as he was the prime minister of the country.

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Monday officially announced that domestic consumers would get gas only for total eight hours in a day — morning, afternoon and evening — during “meal timing”
According to the schedule mentioned in the tweet, the utility would supply gas in the morning time i.e. from 6am to 9am; then in the afternoon from 12pm to 2pm and then evening from 6pm to 9pm. While the SSGC preferred to stay silent about the remaining 16 hours of the day, the new gas schedule has given rise to speculations that the people would continue to face loadshedding in most parts of the day.
Despite the SSGC assurance, almost every locality in the city has been facing very low pressure or no supply of gas during peak hours for the past several days.
“We receive gas supply for total two hours in a day that too without enough pressure to cook or boil anything,” said a resident of the Malir Cantt area. The situation isn’t different in other city areas. A resident of Malir said that there’s no gas supply in the neighbourhood for almost a month.

Some reports talk of the fire being a result of BLA attack...The large oil depots contained several thousand litres of petrol and diesel and must have caused losses worth millions of rupees to the owners, the deputy commissioner said.
The depots were built on the Kontani coast close to the Iranian border to dump petrol and diesel being brought from the neighbouring country through speedboats and other vehicles.
The smuggled oil is brought from Iran via speedboats in 70-litre cans and then converted to large containers at these depots.

There are widespread complaints that the gas utility has so far failed to honour its own announcement as many city areas remained without gas even during the already promised 12pm to 2pm lunch hours.
“We are charging Rs 200 per kilogram of LPG right now,” shared Akram Khan at a filling point in Bhittai Colony, adding that refilling of a 3kg cylinder will cost Rs 600, a medium-sized 6kg cylinder the double of that and a tall 45kg cylinder, Rs 9,000.
Mohammad Ahsan, a customer with his own cylinder at the shop, said then: “Now, do you understand why you pay Rs 20 for a roti that you used to purchase for only Rs 2 earlier?” He added: “An empty new big cylinder, which used to cost about Rs 5,000 a few years ago, costs Rs 16,000 to 17,000 now. And then you need to dig into your pockets further to have it filled.”
