YS Jagan has targeted everyone with one single weapon call 'YSR Golden rule', but that seems to be not working on all. Especially the highly influenced Kamma and Kapu communities of Krishna and Godavari districts are not falling for Fan's wind. Why?

Kammas from Krishna District have not showed interest in Sharmila's paada yaatra except our blunder-star Kodali Nani who jumped the wall without thinking about future. Hardcore Kammas and loyalists of this community feel that they have to bring back Naidu's rule to recover Andhra Pradesh from the troubles YSR and CM Kiran have pushed into. They feel that TDP alone can do justice to all communities with its well planned welfare schemes.

Coming to Kapus, like Naidu mentioned earlier, they have travelled with TDP all the time but only Megastar Chiru is able to split them in 2009. However Chiru's failure to think about the welfare of Kapus, and shutting down of Prajarajyam party has hurt them deep. With Naidu announcing the other day about his intention of creating reservation for poor Kapus, this community is imagining about brighter future under TDP's rule.

Also if we see why these communities do not believe Jagan like they believe Naidu, here is another answer too. Except wooing everyone that Jagan will come to power, YSR-Congress is unable to tell what they will do if they come into power. They are just taking a Xerox of TDP's ideas and announcing it a couple of days later. Lack of original ideas and intentions for welfare of people is making YSR-C lose the game!

AP CM is like any spectator during Draupadi's disrobement.

JD Seelam bringing Congress and Christianity is very interesting. So the surveys are saying that SC votes are getting split on religious lines. Christians to Jagan, Hind Malas to INC and Madigas to TDP. ( I am speculating, we will know in the days to come). This means TDP is up for return.

The Congress leaders suggested to the Reddy leaders that Jagan not being from the community should be made public.

It was found from the Kovur constituency that Prasanna Kumar Reddy, the YSRC candidate won the election as the Reddys were behind him.The sizeable victory margin was possible as a Reddy representative rather than Jagan’s candidate. Taking this as a cue some senior Congress leaders want to deprive him the double benefit.

“YSR did not belong to any particular caste. He is above caste and creed. Before defaming Jagan the Congress leaders should know the caste and religion of their leaders,” retorted senior YSRC leader Bajireddy Goverdhan Reddy. He said that the Congress was unable to face the popularity of Jagan and now they want to use the caste card. This will make Jagan more popular and they will win all 18 seats and one parliament seat, he said.

They want to replenish it through dadupur nalvi canal. The CM was saying it they want the river flowing this year only.

Actually Akhelash did visited most of UP for months together and promissed better law and order and being young etc people believed. They would not have voted for Mulayam. But Akhelesh also shown that he is not diffoent from Mulayam and SP means gundaraj. We also have to remember Muslim+yadav+goonda power plus some other votes of the people deceived with "youth" face of SP along with anti maya votes help SP.

BJP failed to create the confidence that it can win. So its traditional voters simply noted to someone else though they would have voted to BJP if there is any chance of BJP votes winning or even giving a stroung fight. We do underestimate the desire of people to make a change or make a diffoence with their vote.

One time BJP won 4 MP seats from AP. Now it does not even have 4 MLA seats. Why. Voters are not given any hope that BJP will win. Being a serious contender is a very improtant thing. In 2014 with NaMo as PM candidate BJP will give a indication that BJP(NDA) is a serious contender for power with a real chance of winning. That alone will give few more % of votes and add to quite a good votes. No one support a good man with now chance to win but a lot will change if he has a chance to win. Now with that is going to BJP main positive thing. SO be it UP or even in Karnataka in MP elections the result may be suprisingly postitive for Indic forces.

This fellow was there in Bangalore during the last couple of days. But looks like he was not given any chance to start up some controversy. Pramod Muthalik denied of a BJP tickets seems to be move in the right direction. This fellow has been a liability for quite some time. NaMo should give election speeches in Karnataka. Irrespective of electoral outcome.
he should expose himself by his vision what he has done in Gujarat.
He cannot be all over India, as time is short.

I feel that the issues themselves like power and water scarcity are important, but relying on left policies is completely off mark especially when it's the same policies that created the mess in the first place.

RamaY garu , you forget that it was Rath Yatra of LKA that got BJP to national mainstream and got enough seats to be in power. Being hardliner, he was asked to make way for ABV. I was in discussion about the same with a friend of mine. We are all emotional but I think time has come to take the emotions out and even if it is painful this LKA character has to be ended if we really want to rescue India from the clutches of wretched. He is no more the pragmatic of that past. He seems to be the compromised one at this time. When the need is to rally around the people's mood he is questioning the stuff. I don't think he is committed anymore beyond himself and his fanboys/power-without-support-but-wants-positions type folks.

Another kind of dynasty

The Indian media team that had accompanied the PM to Durban to cover the BRICS Summit barely took note of an unassuming man in the media room who helped out with the computers. Starry-eyed spokesman

Sudhanshu Trivedi is BJP president Rajnath Singh's personal choice as party spokesperson. The former lecturer has been a close associate of Singh, so much so that during his last term as president, there were complaints that Trivedi never left his master's side and made any confidential discussion difficult. Now that Singh has returned to the centre stage, Trivedi is less visible but he continues to be Singh's speech writer. He offers words of wisdom on metaphysics, astronomy and foreign policy which are out of sync with Singh's down-to-earth pronouncements on farmers and agriculture. Trivedi is also an astrologer and reportedly predicted that Singh would return as party president. He has made it clear that he sees an even brighter future in store for the BJP president.

Disempowered

Congress party president Sonia and her political secretary Ahmed Patel attended a meeting in which rivals Kumari Selja, the Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda were present. Sonia and Patel tried to effect a patch up between the two. Selja has complained that the state government ignores work in her constituency which has been sanctioned under the MPLAD scheme. Other Haryana MPs have similar grievances. In Rohtak constituency, however, the state government bends over backward to complete projects in double quick time. Rohtak happens to be the constituency of Hooda's son Deepender.

I am not at all underestimating or blaming LKA. In fact I revere him for his RJB Ratha yatra and put him high above ABV. If he were the PM of India in 1998, he would have started construction of Ram temple, which would have avoided 2004 loss and subsequent economic collapse.

Secondly I do not see anything wrong in what he said. He said three things.
1. That standing by the commitment of Ram Temple is the right thing to do.
2. That BJP cannot waver in its commitment to anti-corruption
3. That the BJP he dreamt is not what it is now

But he could have saved all the trouble if he stopped Sushma Swaraj from going too close to bellari brothers and then using them to save BSY's govt time and again. In the process he could have saved BSY himself. But that is past.

My point is if LKA walks out of BJP on one or the other pretext, then he will take away some of BJP leaders with him. It will be interesting to see if he will move left and join INC or move right and start a party for Ram Temple.

In either case it will be a boon for BJP, whatever remains of it.

That said, I do not think LKA will leave BJP, because it is the paid media that is creating all these twisted sound bites to confuse people.

His father is the governor of a north-eastern state, and the official is considered to be close to 10, Janpath, and among those few who are close to Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi. It is being said that it was on his orders that phones of Jaitley and his son Rohan, his two drivers, Nitin Gadkari, his personal secretary Vaibhav Dangey, Sitaram Yechury, Vijay Goyal and 15 others were tapped. Now no matter if the government says that it had no knowledge of it, does it really hold water?

A cyber snoop’s arrest for trying to access BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s call records could open a can of worms

The arrest last month of a self styled snoop on charges of illegally accessing mobile phone records of BJP leader Arun Jaitley is causing anxiety among New Delhi’s Who’s Who. The reason is that the alleged culprit, Anurag Singh, 37, has over the last decade pulled deals for prominent politicians and businessmen, and worked unofficially with police and intelligence officials in a bunch of cases. That Anurag might spill all the beans during the investigation is what is causing the anxiety.

Jaitley was just one of the people whose call records Anurag tried to access; allegedly, there were around 60 others, including former BJP president Nitin Gadkari, BJP leader Sudhanshu Mittal, businessman turned cricket administrator Lalit Modi, and two businessmen from Delhi. This scandal, however, might just be the proverbial tip of the iceberg, and could expose many in Delhi’s political circles, the Delhi Police and the Intelligence Bureau (IB), besides some prominent business tycoons, given the alleged deals made by Anurag over the past decade.

For the BJP, the scandal threatens to reveal the differences within the party — with the police claiming that Mittal, known for his proximity to party president Rajnath Singh, could be one of the conspirators and will be questioned. Mittal has not denied his acquaintance with Anurag and admits having met him a few times over the past four years. “Anurag used to make courtesy calls to me. He came from a good background and I never imagined he could be involved in something like this and hatch a conspiracy against me,” Mittal said in a press conference after Anurag’s arrest.

Anurag was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on 19 February after it came to light that one of his accomplices posed as a policeman to obtain Jaitley’s call records from telecom company Airtel. Three others were also arrested, including a Delhi Police constable and a private detective, Neeraj Nayar. Anurag was allegedly trying to procure the call records of several politicians and businessmen on behalf of Neeraj, charging Rs 1,500 per CDR (call data records) and Rs 200 for the subscriber details. The operation went undetected until Airtel’s nodal officer asked the ACP (Operations), Delhi Police, to confirm a request made through e-mail for obtaining Jaitley’s call records. Apparently, most requests for obtaining cell phone records are made unofficially by various investigating agencies; Anurag and his associates took advantage of this lacuna until they were caught.

So who is Anurag Singh? Anurag’s name came under the spotlight after he was first arrested in January 2006 for allegedly tapping Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh’s phone along with an aide, Dipender Singh. Anurag and Dipender were allegedly assisted by another person who is currently employed with an international corporate risk management company known for corporate espionage and has in its ranks several former FBI officials. Back then, it was startling to know how an MBBS dropout, coming from a well-off family (his father was a Customs officer and his mother still works in the same department), had the wherewithal, the technical know-how and, more importantly, the motive, to illegally tap a prominent politician’s phone. Soon ‘Dr’ Anurag Singh came to be seen as the well-mannered, technically suave face of illegal espionage.

‘V-Detect’, the agency that Anurag ran with an office in New Delhi’s Connaught Place, provided, among others, the following services (according to its website):

• Counter-Surveillance Equipment
• Electromagnetic Interference and Radio Frequency Interference
• Materials Handling Risk and Safety Analysis

The list suggests Anurag had access to high-end surveillance equipment — the kind used by intelligence agencies. Anurag seems to have had a penchant for tapping politicians’ phones, but there’s no clarity on his motives.

Responding to the uproar in the Rajya Sabha over the Jaitley case, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde spelt out the details of how the police cracked it. “During the course of the investigation, the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and logging details of the official e-mail ID of ACP (Operations) were obtained and it was found that it was accessed from an IP address belonging to one Constable Arvind Kumar Dabas (No. 892/ND), posted at Parliament Street Police Station.” The minister also clarified the difference between phone-tapping and obtaining call records. “Telephone tapping refers to looking at the content of the conversation whereas the CDRs pertain to the data regarding the numbers which were called or received.”

But Anurag has a history of phone-tapping as well. Amar Singh has some bitter memories from 2006 when tapes of some of his telephonic conversations were leaked to sections of the media by unknown persons. Though Singh claims the tapes were doctored, it did create a buzz in political circles. For Singh, the Jaitley case is yet another instance of bad karma haunting his political opponents. “I’m not saying Jaitley was in the know when my phone was tapped. But when the doctored tapes were leaked, giving people the wrong idea that I was talking to, among others, movie actress Bipasha Basu, the transcripts were distributed at a dinner hosted by Jaitley. Today, Jaitley is the target. Anurag Singh was a mercenary who made deals with businessmen and politicians to bring others down,” Singh told TEHELKA.

Interestingly, a lot of information in the affidavit filed in 2011 by Singh regarding the phone-tapping case in the Supreme Court was sourced from Anurag Singh alias “Rahul”. Speculation in the power corridors suggests that a Delhi businessman — allegedly close to Anurag and his family as well as some very prominent politicians — facilitated Amar Singh in learning from Anurag that his phone was being tapped “at the behest of 32 political opponents”, including some of India’s most prominent businessmen. But why would Anurag share the information with Singh after targeting him? That is anybody’s guess.

Delhi Police admits that Anurag had helped them carry out surveillance and obtain phone records. He had allegedly helped the Special Cell to crack the cricket match-fixing scandal that involved former South African skipper Hansie Cronjeas well as the Parliament attack case of 2001. However, soon after his arrest in 2006 following the Amar Singh phone-tapping scandal, Delhi Police claimed that he was an asset who had gone rogue.

“He was a snoop, not an investigator. He had approached us in 2005 and indeed impressed us with his hacking skills. He had applied to become a member of the Association of Private Detectives and Investigators (APDI), but we never gave him membership. We only recognise ex- servicemen and former security professionals,” says APDI president Kunwar Vikram Singh.

What remains unanswered is why did someone like Anurag, with his alleged links to senior officials in the IB and Delhi Police, go rogue? Some even say that the right question would be whether he went rogue at all. A former IB official believes that Anurag is a wasted national asset. “If someone was cracking cases for you using his skills, when your own intelligence set-up could not do it, you would have recognised him as a national asset. You must know how not to let your asset go rogue.”

Despite TEHELKA’s efforts to get a response, Delhi Police remained tight-lipped on the case. Anurag’s brother, Arun Singh, a lawyer, too refused to comment.
