"This never materialised, prompting president Francois Hollande to confess in 2016 that levels of immigration, particularly from Islamic countries, was far too high. ‘That there is a problem with Islam is true, no one doubts that,’ he said. ‘How can we avoid partition? Because that’s what’s happening: partition.’

What's this about France doubling price of Rafale-M to India? Any truth to it? If so, what's the justification?

Not strictly EU but Switzerland:

Hindujas are the family. Couldn’t have happened to a worse group of people, arms dealers to boot. Fully guilty but I also suspect there is an element of let’s teach those uppity coolies a lesson on part of prosecution

How are the Hindujas directly responsible for this case. Do they have the time and energy to decide the wages of individual household staff?

The level of incompetence is staggering.
New Caledonia is already off the MSM. The local, native leader has been forced off the island and seems to be a political prisoner in France.
How many of the left wing 'intellectuals' of France have rallied to her defence?
The intellectuals of France (that term itself is irony writ large) have a long history of depravity, masquerading as sophistication and elitism.
They have unilaterally proclaimed the French intellectual as a most evolved being. These are the same stock as the elites who used to shit behind the tapestries hanging in the Palace of Versailles. A palace constructed with hundreds of rooms and not a single toilet. The serfs shit in the fields, uncouth as they were.
These same intellectuals have a long history of abrogating to themselves pronouncements of what constitutes sexual exploitation; pedophilia has been common in French society. It seems they were imparting high French 'intellectual' culture to innocent children. Many post war French intellectuals (gotta love that term) favoured little children by seducing them. You read that right. How sophisticated. The thought of little bodies covered in the filthy emissions of French intellectuals was celebrated in books. Of course Polanski, the film director, gets refuge in France and will never be extradited to the US to answer for pedophila charges. The society at large, certainly the intellectuals, will protect one of own.
French intellectuals, the French elite, consistently supported colonisation including the genocide in Algeria. Ironic, as the French revolution was expressly for 'all mankind'. The French went to Algeria and literally declared it was France . Only the swarthier French types were brutalised. For 'all mankind' indeed.
Nothing has changed in New Caledonia. New Caledonia is also France with little opposition to this delusion from our French intellectuals.
They are outraged by the Hindutva in India but have little problem with repression of Muslims in gay Paris, in lacites, in the abysmal social mobility of Muslims. Even less problem with Chinese repression in East Turkestan. For obvious reasons.
None of this lingers in the MSM, perhaps mmeriting a passing reference.
The only thing the French get right is the funding of negative reports from India generated by French Intellectuals.
It is leverage, mostly psychological.
And read it here folks because you won't be reading this in the Indian media or seeing it on Rajya Sabha TV.
Thus it is not incompetence it is called marketing.

Re: India-EU News & Analysis
In case one mistakes this as bile, consider the British approach to their Muslims. Contrast with the French approach.
And the Brits don't even bleat on about intellectualism. Only they have three solid centuries to demonstrate their credentials instead of merely proclaiming their genius to themselves.

Never again. One of them was from Kerala and knew the Hindujas. The wealthy Indian in my experience are pretty obnoxious and snobby with no respect for those they regard as inferior to them, there have been a few cases of them exploiting people, I think one happened in the USA a few years ago.
It is just a cultural character trait.

Continuing our casual examination of France's admirable human rights record, being for the benefit of Monsieur Jaffrelot, I present this piece in confirmation of demonstration that minority rights are woefully inadequate. The French have much to learn from Britain, India, Canada and the US.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/artic ... e-to-leave
Few in France seem to realise this discrimination puts people in an impossible bind, forcing them to choose whether to accept a life curtailed by racism or leave behind everything they know, said one woman who had moved to central Canada nearly two decades ago after being born and raised in southern France. She asked that her name not be published to protect her job.
“It’s not easy,” she said. “I love France. I left my family, my lifelong friends. My kids didn’t get to grow up with their grandparents. We sacrificed so much.”
In turn, however, she had found a world of opportunity abroad. “My husband and I work for the public sector, which would be unfathomable if I was in France, with my hijab,” she said, citing laws that bar public sector employees in France from wearing religious symbols.
“I’m an engineer. But I think the best job I could have in France with my hijab is probably at a halal butcher, working as a cashier. Here there is nothing that prevents me as a hijabi from moving up the ladder.”
The sentiment was echoed by Fatiha Zeghir, who said her career flourished after she moved to London 11 years ago. “I’ve never felt so free,” she said. “Here I found respect for who I am. I could be whoever I wanted to be, I wasn’t just stuck being the Arab girl.”

Vayutuvan ji,
The forum software seems incompatible with most emojis and flags from outside.
I generally delete all outside emojis and flags before posting.
That way, the focus remains on the content of the post, rather than simply highlighting the lipstick and drowning out/overpowering the content

@chetak ji,
Thanks. That is what I thought. Others should exercise some self-discipline and be mindful of others while cutting/pasting from external places, especially twitter and such.
It is getting to be quite annoying to be frank.

Re: India-EU News & Analysis
I live in France, and I can see where a lot of France bashing is coming from when it comes to International policies, postcolonial conduct, intellectual hypocrisy, child abuse etc.
HOWEVER, personally I have experienced ZERO incidents of racism of any kind at work or in the society in 25 years of living here. My first and last names are unpronounceable to most French people and I'm brown skinned. I neither flaunt nor hide my Indian identity. I abide by laws, pay taxes, participate in hobby clubs and associations, have a large circle of friends. My kids are in late teens, they havent faced any discrimination either. One may say its because I'm in a well paying job and live in cosmopolitan Paris region.
If I was a farmer or run a local bar-restaurant in small town or rural France may be things could be different, but I doubt I'd be subjected to systemic racism if I made a bit of effort to speak the language and integrate.
Heck, most bar-tabacs and drop boxes are run by Chinese immigrants in Paris region and they aren't complaining.
Perhaps immigrants from ex-French colonies who are arabs or blacks have a different experience, but when I see doctors, lawyers, govt staff, various working professionals of every race and colour doing as well as local white European French people at various junior and senior levels in public sector companies and various levels of administration, I dont know where these systemic victimhood claims are coming from.

And that they may not necessarily be for the edification of forum members but certain others who trawl such sites to form opinions. Some posts are really only cautionary.

I am sure there is a bit of this motivating the Sikh harassment of Hindus in Canada.
Mr Chevrier added that authorities often took an extremely "passive attitude" toward anything going on within "Muslim communities".

Re: India-EU News & Analysis
In all my visits to Canada, I have only really seen khalistani resentment and stupidity, and that is caste based. I don't ever recall the general Sikh community having any animosity. My cousins husband is a very successful businessman, he sells household electronics, and has two large warehouse stores and is opening a third.sanjaykumar wrote: ↑05 Jul 2024 04:34 I am sure there is a bit of this motivating the Sikh harassment of Hindus in Canada.

All he gets is abuse from these elements. Caste based abuse. They demand contributions for khalistan and threaten to destroy his business.

No doubt. These people are putting Hindus in an embarrassing position. Decent Sikhs have it worse.
Sorry about your relative. But extortion is a lifestyle for some of these elements. There have been arson attacks on businesses when money was not forthcoming. You may search for it. Of course the media studiously avoided any mention of khalistanis.
Canada is being held to ransom by the vote bank. The Sikh dude in charge of defence ordered Sikhs in Afghanistan to be evacuated by the Canadian military. And left deserving afghans including those who worked with the Canadian expeditionary force behind.
Disgraceful conduct. But one must be culturally sensitive.

A remotely similar action in India would have had blood written all over it! An actual event in China would have remained unmentioned.

@realMaalouf
Mahjoub Mahjoubi, a Tunisian iman in France, gave a sermon calling the French flag ‘satanic’.
Then the police came to his home and put him on the first plane to Tunisia.
All within 8 hours.
He had lived in France for 40 yrs.
Do you agree with France’s decision to deport him?
