The Cricket World Cup Thread
Re: The Cricket Thread
On Friday is one of those matches where whoever loses, makes you happy: Bangladesh vs England.
Its like England vs Australia... you get more joy from any of the team losing rather than the winning.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Bch#d pakis have this lineup of cheap Saqlain clones who walk up to the crease pause for a moment and literally chuck the ball; first it was Mallik now we have this guy Hafeez (no wonder they wear full sleeves to hide the elbow).

No sweat, sorry for the misunderstanding.
Looks like the terrorists have pegged back the Kiwis. They are finding it hard to hit even a single boundary. There is a lot of fizz in the manner in which the terrorist spinners are bowling. Need someone like Yusuf Pathan to take them apart or one of the white Paki hitters like Shane Watson. The Kiwis are simply not up to it, including Ross Taylor.

Re: The Cricket Thread
We need to Hype that Paki's are unbeatable and put full media focus on thier team, even parties should be organised for thier players the night before thier QF match. this threat needs to be niped out.
Re: The Cricket Thread
True, they are getting to be really good and balanced.

Re: The Cricket Thread
New Zealand RR 5.676.6
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, Rosco is back in style, brings up his century on his birthday, with a savage pull over deep midwicket for six, he was waiting for that shortish one on the stumps, and when it arrived, he was ready and raises his bat in celebration, the dressing room stands up and applauds
46.6
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, 1 wide, nightmare this is for Shoaib, this one is fired wide down the leg side
46.5
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, FOUR, and another one, this time he waited in the crease for this length ball to come on comfortably wide outside off stump, and carved it over cover, no chance for sweeper cover
46.4
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, no run, this was in the slot for Taylor, bouncing from a length, and he went for the big hit over deep midwicket again, but missed this time
46.4
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, 1 wide, 109 kph slower one but miles outside the off stump, more woes for Shoaib, will this over ever end for him?
46.3
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, 141.1 kph high full toss, it's going horribly wrong for Shoaib, Taylor swivelled and hammered it miles over the deep midwicket boundary
46.2
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, Taylor has made Pakistan pay dearly, another full toss, this time on the pads, and Ross swings it powerfully, flat and quick, over deep square leg
46.1
Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, FOUR, poor delivery to begin with, swinging wide full toss way outside off stump, he capitalises, and slashes it over point and into the boundary
Shoaib is back
Last 5 ovs 90/1 RR 18.00
48.6
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, SIX
48.5
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, FOUR, now he hits it straight down the ground, walking across the off stump, gets a full delivery in the slot, and bashes it along the ground, Afridi at long on had given up the chase long ago
63 runs off 2.5 overs, hows's that for a partnership? Ross changes his bat, meanwhile. Not done yet
48.4
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, 2 runs, goes across off stump, but misses out this time, heaving this full one down to long off, Oram lumbers back for the second
48.4
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, 1 wide, and another wide outside off from Razzaq, Pakistan have totally lost it
48.3
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, SIX, they just keep coming, full toss on off stump, Ross hits it into orbit, somewhere over deep midwicket, keep disappearing from the moment he bends the knee and swings them
48.3
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, 1 wide, walks outside off stump looking for the big swing again, Razzaq floats it wide of off stump
48.2
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, SIX, carnage! this has got to be stinging for Pakistan, more so after the millions of chances Ross has had, down on a knee and swings him over deep midwicket from outside off stump
48.1
Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, FOUR, Ross welcomes him with a fearful slap through extra cover, made some room outside leg stump, and smashed the half volley through the off side

Re: The Cricket Thread
Damn- I wish Pakis get this kind of hammering in thier QF's. I hope NZ don't drop the Ball and let the pakis escape.
Re: The Cricket Thread
A contrarian view.Call it sub-continental patriotism or whatever,I have enjoyed Pakistan slaughtering NZ and beating the hell out of the minions from Anglosphere. And only they have had the fast bowling firepower to challenge gora teams.
But Pakjabis are having a serious problem in general,if they are being thrashed by kiwis in kirket.Their wicket keeper is a joke.

Re: The Cricket Thread
In the 47th over, Shoaib bowled a mix of wide deliveries, length deliveries and full tosses that Taylor savaged through cover point and over the deep midwicket boundary. That exhibition of how not to bowl at the death was outdone by Razzaq, whose medium-pace combined with poor length was meat and drink to a marauding Taylor. Fielders looked on helplessly, Shahid Afridi tore his hair out metaphorically and Taylor was now toying with a shell-shocked Pakistan. He had added 35 in 3.5 overs with Nathan McCullum, who initiated the acceleration, and then 85 in 3.4 overs
with Jacon Oram, who muscled 25 off 9 balls.

Re: The Cricket Thread
sounds like the paks had the lal quilla in sight when they dropped the ball and stopped for a spot of loot and plunder...and then a couple regiments of arjun tanks ran all over their camp

Re: The Cricket Thread
whats with all the SDRE Lankan crowd rooting for pak? is it just the islamic brothers among the SDRE?

Re: The Cricket Thread
Talking about that aspect of the equation....are NZ as nasty as UK and Oz? Back then, they were such weaklings that I always used to sympathize with them. In my cartoon bubble, they are as goody goody as Canadians. Amirkhans, Queenistanis and Ozs were in the same league.Lalmohan wrote:no, its Svenkat syndrome!
