This discussion is too OT to this thread. Could we please limit ourselves to understanding Islam, how it is personified in the Islamic societies and how islamism interacts with non-islamic societies, in this thread?
Veda Bhasya and Tika can be done elsewhere and that too in a non== manner?
RamaY ji, we are discussing precisely that - how and why Islamism interacts with other societies as well as its own individuals. Indic or Western thought are for the sake of comparisons for similarities and differences, both, in content and context. I have not seen any == so far.
Atri ji, I added this to my last response to you: "You're right, though, their idea of hidayah is to seek in the "heart" confirmation of what one is reading/being told. In many ways this can be mis-applied in a hypnotic way, by convincing the hearer to turn his back to the exterior world, thereby leaving the doors of the mind unguarded and making him susceptible to suggestion."
(Reuters) - An adolescent boy and a young girl have been beheaded in two separate incidents in Afghanistan, local officials and police said on Friday, in the latest brazen attacks that have raised fresh questions about a splintering Taliban.
A 12-year-old boy was kidnapped and killed in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, his severed head placed near his body to send a warning to police, said provincial governor spokesman Jawid Faisal.
The brother of the boy, neither of whom were named by officials, was a member of the Afghan Local Police (ALP), a U.S.-trained militia charged with making Afghans in Taliban strongholds, like Kandahar, feel more secure, Faisal said.
"It's a Taliban warning to the ALP and to others who support the government," Faisal said of the killing, which happened in Kandahar's Panjwai district.
...
Separately, a 6-year-old girl was beheaded in eastern Kapisa province on Thursday, said provincial police chief Abdul Hamed.
"We are not sure if she was beheaded by her family or the Taliban, but we know the Taliban control the area," Hamed said of the killing in Jalukhil village. He added that he could not send investigators to the area out of fears for their safety.
The murders follow the shooting or beheading of 17 young revelers attending a party in southern Helmand province this week, which officials said was the work of the Taliban, a charge the group also denied.
"What we're seeing could be a new tactic by the Taliban to behead civilians to intimidate the population," said Faisal.
In Kandahar's Zhari district, officials also said on Friday that a 16-year-old boy accused by the Taliban of spying for the government was beheaded and skinned in late July.

The faithfools are increasingly turning maniac in the Purelands and are beheading 6 year old girls now.
Guess a lifetime of public hallaing of goats, cows, camels and what not during Eid as decreed to in the Kitabs, in a gory display attended by the whole mohalla , where every innocent childhoood is totally desensitized to the the painful bleatings of the creature as its held down with the look of terror in its eyes as its neck is being cut while still alive are now giving out their designed effects.
I dont give a shit for our godforsaken western neighbours..But
Is there a chance of this practice getting banned atleast in India .. after all in India, Indian law is supposed to operate as opposed to laws decreed in Abrahamic Kitabs.
In Iraq on the Mohammadden Sabbath of Friday, Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden violence sees adherents of the Shia / Shiite sect of Mohammaddenism killed by their co-religionists:

Bingo!
Every human (even animals - that is how we domesticate them) has the capability to turn into a devata or asura based on the definition of their true being, ideology, rituals and artifacts.
Some ideologies instigate, nurture and empower the asuric tendencies and other the daivic tendencies. The scriptures, dharma/political Sastras and the life and teachings of gurus of a given path tell us what the underlying ideology is about.
Once we become aware of it there is only one option - fight and remove the asuric ideologies from the social consciousness. There is no other alternative if the objective is to increase the divinity quotient in the world.
Rounding out acts of violence perpetrated by the followers of Mohammaddenism this particular Friday, a day which is designated the Sabbath in that religion, over in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan a car bombing:
Police statistics show that in the capital of Norway, Oslo, 100% of assault rapes between strangers were committed by immigrant non-western males. And 9 out of 10 of their victims were native Norwegian women. Some blonde Norwegian women have reportedly begun dying their hair black, and many travel only in groups. The rape problem is primarily Muslim men raping non-Muslim women. Kristin Spitznogle and Hanne Herland speak out.
As in other European city's parts of Oslo are now Muslim zones and maybe subject to sharia law or to the rules of local imams.
Several weeks before the massacre in Norway, CBN News travelled to Oslo to investigate reports that the nation's experiment with Muslim immigration and multiculturalism had gone terribly wrong, that Muslim radicalism was growing along with violence and intimidation against non-Muslims.
ISLAMABAD: A blasphemy case took a bizarre turn here on Saturday when police arrested Khalid Jadoon, a prayer leader who had allegedly put some pages of the holy Quran among the burnt papers to strengthen the case against a Christian girl.
The arrest was made after a statement before a magistrate by a witness, Hafiz Zubair, a Muezzin in the same mosque, in which he alleged that he saw Khalid Jadoon putting the pages of Quran in the polythene bags containing the burnt papers.
A heavy contingent of police raided the residence of the prayer leader after obtaining arrest warrants, picked him up and put him behind bars.
The witness disclosed before an executive magistrate that the Imam of the mosque in Mehra Jaffer had included two pages of the Quran among burnt papers brought to him by the complainant in order to exacerbate the situation.
He said he was sitting in Aitkaf in the mosque located in front of the house of the girl when complainant Malik Hammad brought the burnt pages in two polythene bags to the prayer leader.
The witness said he tried to stop the cleric from tampering with the evidence, but he insisted it would strengthen the case and lead to eviction of the girl’s family from the locality.
No, the Imam will at the maximum be lightly penalized for tampering with evidence. It could also turn out to be an inner rivalry within the mosque. This stuff goes on with surprising violence within mosque hierarchies even in India. Also its a case of one witness claiming tampering. The illustrious Paki lawyer and judiciary class are not known to have gone seriously against imams.
JE Menon wrote:So now will the Imam be tried for blashphemy?
In Qazi vs Kaffir , Qazi can never be punished, this is for Eyewash only, infact the Imam might be even given vistation rights to girl. Once the news dies down, the girl will be quietly taken care off and the Imam let off
MANAMA, Bahrain –
Instead, the planned church -- intended to be the main center for Catholics in the region -- has turned into another point of tension in a country already being pulled apart by sectarian battles between its Sunni and Shiite Muslim communities.Hardline Sunni clerics have strongly opposed the construction of the church complex, in a rare open challenge of the country's Sunni king. More than 70 clerics signed a petition last week saying it was forbidden to build churches in the Arabian Peninsula, the birthplace of Islam. One prominent cleric, Sheik Adel Hassan al-Hamad, proclaimed in a sermon during Friday prayers last month, that there was no justification for building further churches in Bahrain, adding, "anyone who believes that a church is a true place of worship is someone who has broken in their faith in God."
Islam: The Untold Story was billed by the channel as "an extraordinary detective story" in which historian Tom Holland found himself embroiled in "an underground but seismic debate: the issue of whether, as Muslims have always believed, Islam was born fully formed in all its fundamentals, or else evolved gradually, over many years".
But after it was broadcast on 28 July, Holland found himself on the receiving end of a torrent of criticism on Twitter and a lengthy critique by the Islam Research and Education Academy (IREA), which accused him of making "baseless assumptions" and engaging in "elective Scholarship".Tom Holland's assertion that there is no historical evidence for the seventh-century origins of Islam is historically inaccurate," the IREA said, alleging that his presentation was "clearly biased" and that he ignored the work of key scholars. In a response issued by Channel 4, Holland said: "The origins of Islam are a legitimate subject of historical enquiry and that the programme was in keeping with other series on the channel where the historical context of world religions were examined."It is important to stress as we do in the film that this is a historical endeavour and is not a critique of one of the major monotheistic religions," he added. The historian, a non-Muslim, went on: "An accusation laid against the film is one of bias and, although I believe that absolute objectivity is a chimera, what was incumbent upon us, in making the film, was to be upfront about my own ideological background and presumptions, and to acknowledge the very different perspective that Muslim faith provides."
Surely if as claimed by prominent Mohammaddens that theirs is “The Religion of Peace” then it would be not be unreasonable for those not following Mohammaddenism to expect that Mohammadden Clerics will not indulge in inciting their followers to commit acts of violence:
In their book Hagarism: The Making of the Islamic World, Crone and her associate Michael Cook, working at SOAS at the time, provided an analysis of early Islamic history by looking at the only surviving contemporary accounts of the rise of Islam, written in Armenian, Greek, Aramaic and Syriac by witnesses. They argued that Islam, as represented by contemporary, Non-Muslim sources, was in essence a tribal rebellion against the Byzantine and Persian empires with deep roots in Judaism, and that Arabs and Jews were allies in these conquering communities.[5]
In her book Meccan Trade and the Rise of Islam, Crone argues that the importance of the pre-Islamic Meccan trade has been grossly exaggerated. She also suggests that while Muhammad never traveled much beyond the Hijaz, internal evidence in the Qur'an such as its description of Muhammad's polytheist opponents as olive growers, might indicate that the events surrounding the prophet took place near to the Mediterranean milieu.[5]
Recently an Egyptian Muslim posted a YouTube videotape of himself cursing Islam, its holy book, the Koran, tearing the latter to pieces and throwing it in the garbage. Excerpts of what he said follow:
The three sheikhs (from left, Abdullah, Mohsin, and Sha'ban) call for the death of all who insult Islam on live TV. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXbjJ6YO ... detailpage
There it is, Allah's book, this is the basic catastrophe. I don't know what day it is of this disgusting month of Ramadan! You are making the tearing of the Quran such a big and dangerous thing... it is instinctive to tear this book, those sons of [profanity] think they can threaten me and challenge me to tear the Quran, but I want to prove to them that they are nothing and what is the big deal in tearing this book!! There it is [he starts tearing the Quran] in the trash. Are you feeling better now! You cannot touch a hair on my head! We keep blaming Hamas and Gaza, but it is not them, it is this son of [profanity] book that I am stepping on right now. That book is the source of all evil and the real catastrophe. There is nothing new here, it is not Omar Abdel Rahman, Abbud or all the others; it is this garbage that is causing us to run in a demonic never-ending circle that will never end. After the video of the man tearing the Koran was played, one of three guests, a bearded and white-robed Dr. Mahmoud Sha'ban, visibly shaken by what he had just seen, said:
Someone like him must receive the punishment he deserves—and it is death. He is an apostate… It is clear from what he says that he is a Muslim, and must be killed as an apostate. As for that act itself, it is an infidel act, and he deserves to be struck by the sword in a public place—and as soon as possible; as soon as possible; as soon as possible. It must be announced and photographed and disseminated among the people, so that all the people may know that we respect our Koran and its words from Allah, and whoever insults it, receives his punishment from Allah. If people like him are left alone, they will only get bolder and bolder.
The next guest, Sheikh Abdul Mohsin, said: "I support the words of Sheikh Mahmoud [who just spoke], that this man must be killed fast, that he may be an example to others, so that all learn that we have reached a new phase in respecting Islam and the holy sanctity of the Koran and Sunna. This man has become an apostate and must suffer the penalty in front of the people."
The third and final guest, Dr. Abdullah, was somewhat critical of the first two Islamic scholars—not because they called for the man's death, but because, by focusing on the fact that the man had apostatized, it seemed as if they were exonerating non-Muslims: "The issue of killing him is not limited to his being a Muslim and then apostatizing. No, it is known to us from the Sharia that whoever insults the Prophet or tears the Koran, his judgment is death—whether he's a Muslim or non-Muslim, or non-Muslim."Man, we're talking about the religion of Allah! The religion! The religion!! The woman who insulted the Prophet, he voided her life! There were ten people at the conquest of Mecca whose lives the Prophet also voided!"
When the host tried to get a word in, the cleric exclaimed: "I am the sheikh, not you. I am the sheikh, not you! I am the sheikh! Hear me to the end, before I get up and leave!!"
Dr. Abdullah tried to mediate by clarifying to the host: "Do you know what the word 'void' [hadr] means [in Islamic jurisprudence]? It means it is the right for anyone who meets them [those who insult Islam] to kill them."
Simply put, the host was wrong to think that those who insult Islam should only be killed by the state. Any good Muslim can—and should—kill them, wherever he finds them. Of course, with a Muslim Brotherhood president in office, whether those who offend Islam are killed by the state or by Islamic vigilantes becomes somewhat semantic
From Indonesia which along with Turkey and Malaysia is held up as the poster child of “Moderate” Mohammaddenism.
Indonesian Minister Suryadharma Ali’s solution to solve religious inspired Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden sectarian violence is to get adherents of the minority sect to convert and adopt the sectarian identity of their oppressors who constitute the majority sect.
Clearly the Dharma in the Ministers name has not been reflected in his utterances:

Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali says converting Shiite Muslims to the Sunni Islam followed by most Indonesians would be the best way to prevent violent outbreaks between the sects in Sampang, East Java.
“The best solution for what has been going on in there is dialogue. Many things can happen after a dialogue. We had an experience where the Ahmadis [...] converted to mainstream Islam after dialogue,” the minister said on Wednesday on the sidelines of a meeting with lawmakers on House of Representatives’ Commission VIII overseeing religious affairs.
Suryadharma was referring to the local religious leader in Ciaruteun village in Bogor, West Java, who persuaded 15 members of the minority Muslim Ahmadiyah sect in March 2011 to convert to the form of Islam practiced by most Indonesian Muslims.
The minister said that in first stage of the conversion process, minority Shiites, their majority Sunni neighbors and other stakeholders in Sampang could meet for a dialogue. ………………..

Thats exactly what the evanglicals say here in the Babel Belt against Mosques being built here.
I want more mosques here in the babel belt! I want every church here in the bablel belt replaced with a mosque! Give them a taste of their own medicine I says. I support every Islamists who want to replace a church with a mosque here in the Babel belt!
Muslims have more dignity and have done honor to their faith defending it against the onslought of evangelism unlike some others I know.. who have sold their own families out to the evangelicals for five dolla sucki sucki!

AFAIK Indonesians are perhaps the most friendly and chilled out people on this planet. More importantly, they don't see fitting in with modern values and cherishing their past (and respecting their ancestors religions) as apostasy. Heck, there's very high personal independence and you are supposed to find your own mate..... which means active social life and "kissing a few frogs before finding the prince/princess". But surely not to Filipino/Thai LBFM "depths"!
A whopping 390% of ayeshas..... from the hijabed ones (just about a fourth of the female population) to the khullam-khulla denim shorts/tight jeans crowd have names like Sita Dewi, Laxsmi Candra, Novya Putri etc etc. Same for the blokes. Quite sanskritik, non halaal, non Arabic-four-father names.
PS: The old Hindu and Buddhist temples are kept in good condition all over Indonesia..... on that note the Prambanan Complex of 1000 temples is a sight to see.
PPS: Visited one of my friend's (a practicing Sunni) ancestral home and I found many pedestals with old idols of Ganesha and Garuda and Arjuna Vijaya.... with fresh flower offerings. When I asked the patriarch if someone there still follows the "Old Gods", he said (with a wink), "Son, we ALL do. In a fashion. We slip in an offering or two when Allah ain't looking". Also, the depth of belief in explicitly Hindu/animistic magic rituals is astounding.
P3S: Things might change too..... they say the number of locals wearing white Arab robes, stitched white skullcaps and regulation beard-minus-mustache is increasing in certain zones. There were recent confrontations between Ahmedis/Shias and Sunni organizations like PFI (from which this Suryadharman Ali hails from) which resembled sieges.... but those were with almost zero bloodshed in far off isles which witnessed sectarian violence following the 1998 crisis.
After leading some of the largest demonstrations against Burma’s former military junta in 2007, hundreds of Buddhist monks have once again taken to the streets in protest. Yet instead of marching to demand greater freedoms, they are demonstrating in support of President Thein Sein’s recent proposal to either deport members of the country’s minority Rohingya Muslim community, or send them to camps.
...
In response to the mounting violence in Rakhine state, Burma’s government launched an investigation into the violence in the region. While Thein Sein in part blamed Buddhist monks and other ethnic Rakhine figures for inciting hatred against the Rohingya in a parliamentary report last month, he also echoed past comments, in which he said that the minority group was not welcome within Burma’s borders, and that the only “solution” was to either deport or send them to camps.
Rallying behind the president’s plan, hundreds of Buddhists and other demonstrators gathered in Mandalay on September 2, holding up signs that read “Protect mother Myanmar by supporting the president”.
According to the UN, there are an estimated 800,000 Rohingya Muslims currently living in Burma. Many in the country refer to them as “Bengalis”, because they speak a regional dialect of Bengali. The Rohingya, however, are stateless. Claiming centuries of lineage in Rakhine state, Rohinhya activists have long petitioned for Burmese citizenship, to no avail. This means they have little access to education or health care and face travel restrictions.
also from U Wirathu led the anti-Rohingya protests in Mandalay on Sunday, September 2.
We decided to hold the protest for three reasons. First off, we wanted the world to know that the Rohingya are not among the 135 different ethnic groups that are recognised in Burma. We also wanted to make sure everyone knew that we, as Burmese people, do not condone their acts of violence. Lastly, we wanted to highlight the importance of border security, by pointing out the fact that there have been some on the western border [which runs along Bangladesh] in the past who were not concerned with Rakhine’s security and did their job carelessly.
We have lived peacefully among different religions and ethnicities for years. But we now have these illegal Bengali immigrants demanding to be recognised as a native ethnic group and asking to be granted citizenship. We want people to know the truth, that the Rohingya are not Burmese and that they are not a peaceful group. If they lived quietly, we would allow them to stay regardless of the fact they entered the country illegally.
It’s not that we want all immigrants, illegal or not, to leave Burma. There are a lot of illegal Chinese immigrants here too, but the difference is that they just go about their own business. They’re not trying to swallow native tribes and colonise the country, or destroy our religion. [Burma’s entire Muslim population makes up 4 percent of the population

Hidden Jihadi Enginner
(Mr, Asghar, Allah is exclusive Muslim god not a Universal one. so lets not sneak him. We know the truth of Sirhindi, Chisti and all the Ullahs)
My simple answer is that Sufis love Allah, not fear Allah. Love is the central doctrine for them. Sufis like Muhiyeddin Ibn Arabi who espoused the school of Wahdat al-Wujud demolished all walls of separation between one faith and another and made love of all human beings the base of their religion. Ibn Arabi went to the extent of saying “hubbi deeni wa shari’ati” i.e. love is my religion and my Sharia. It is a very meaningful statement for those who believe in humanity and want to build human civilisation on love, not hatred. Love not only leads to tolerance but also demolishes all movements based on extremism and exclusive truth. One who loves all of humanity always adopts an inclusive approach and feels the truth cannot be the monopoly of some exclusive group. For Sufis too, love of humanity is based on these principles and they respect the dignity and integrity of all faiths which are sincerely held by any human being or a community of human beings provided these faiths are sincerely held. Also, love cannot be genuine unless it is pure and purged of all traces of selfishness and personal desires. All selfish desire has to be renounced to make love genuine and hence Sufis talk of tark (renunciation) and the highest degree of this is described as tark-i-tark (renunciation of renunciation).Sarmad Shaheed was beheaded by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb as he would not recite the Islamic kalima, La ilaha il lallah (there is no god but God) but only La ilaha (there is no god). Before his beheading he was asked why he didn’t recite Il lallah (except one God). He replied “how can I say Il lallah when so many gods of desire are still in my heart?”In so doing, Sarmad maintained that when so many idols of desire were still in his heart, how could his love of Allah be sincere and genuine? Hence a true believer or lover of one God has to purge all idols of desire installed in one’s heart.Invocation of Sufi saints or seeking their intercession can be seen as a human weakness. In fact Sufi saints believe that total submission to Allah — the beloved — is part of their love of Allah. They also call it tawakkul i.e. total trust in Allah as He does whatever He does, for the good of His servant. A lover has to accept the will of his/her beloved having full faith in the latter.
Broadcaster Pulls Show After Hindu ComplaintsAugust 14, 2012
DENPASAR
A major Indonesian broadcaster has been forced to cancel one of its prime Ramadan TV shows after angry protests from Balinese Hindus.
The Indosiar historical drama series Sembilan Wali was commissioned to run throughout the Muslim fasting month, and features fictionalised adventures of the so-called “Wali Songo,” the “Nine Saints” said to have brought Islam to Java. Indonesian broadcasters traditionally commission dramas and soap operas with an Islamic theme as part of their Ramadan programming schedules.
However, the serial earned the ire of many Balinese Hindus, who complained about its allegedly negative and historically inaccurate portrayal of the Hindu Majapahit Kingdom.
Official protests were lodged with the Bali Legislative Council by various organisations, including the Indonesian Hindu Dharma Students Union, the Indonesian Institute of Hindu Dharma and the Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia, as well as by individual religious leaders.
Official complaints were also lodged by the Bali branch of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI).
KPI head Komang Suarsana said that the series’ portrayal of the Hindu Majapahit forces as evil, and its scenes of violent clashes between Muslims and Hindus, were both historically inaccurate and had the potential to incite religious hatred.
“The story has the potential to create interfaith disharmony,” he said.
“The Bali branch of the KPI expressly requests that the series be halted because of its harassment and defamation of the Hindu religion and its symbols. This series is against the basic teachings of Hinduism,” Suarsana said.
“In the story, Hindu leaders are always synonymous with wickedness, and Islam is synonymous with purity and so on.”
Several Hindu members of the Bali Regional Assembly said that if Indosiar refused to stop broadcasting the series then their broadcasts should be suspended in Bali.
After initial complaints and official warnings, Indosair did not respond, but on Tuesday Indosiar officials met with members of KPI and the Bali Legislative Council in Jakarta and agreed to halt the broadcasts.
The station made an official apology to all Hindus for any offence caused, and agreed to cease broadcasting the show as of Wednesday.
Suarsana welcomed the move.
“We want to thank Indosiar for obeying the regulation set by the KPI,” he said.

As of tonight,Indosair is still at it, a prominent series on 9/9.30 pm until late portrays a Hindu as a scheming priest/ witchdoctor who practices black magic, last night pedanda were made fun of on a popular game show…if this were done to Islam, there would be rioting in the streets(FPI maybe), yet other religions have to tolerate this?
Rafic Labboun, an imam from the Shiite Association Bay Area (SABA) Mosque in San Jose, California, has been arrested in Mexico by Mexican immigration authorities working in cooperation with the FBI and Homeland Security.
Labboun was taken into custody with the two known Hezbollah agents from Belize, Justin George Abdallah Elders and Yasser Safa in Merida, a Mexican city located in the Yucatan peninsula. Both men are citizens of Belize. Intelligence agencies in the United States were tracking this group as part of a cell of Hezbollah-linked Arab terrorists who were operating in Mexico and Central America.

That's really pathetic. Hindus are a tiny minority in Indonesia, almost entirely concentrated in one little island. They have no history of terrorism, separatism or unrest. You would have expected the Indonesians to be more sophisticated, taking pride and feeling affinity for their pre-Islamic roots. One wonders what history is taught in Indonesia, and whether they have the "controversies" and heated debates that India is known for. Where a whole vociferous tribe of historians and academics defend or mitigate the most awful Islamic invasions.
