I am convinced that the match was fixed. All players need not be involved to fix a match, just a few key players can do the trick. Akmal being the wicket keeper is a vital cog in the Pawki side and he has been instrumental in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on many occasions notably Sydney in 2009. If one looks back at the past wicket keepers for Pawkistan they have all had a chequered history. Latif, Basit Ali, Moin Khan etc have been accused of being involved with the bookmakers on quite a few occasions.

Anyway, who are we to complain, congratulations to Akmal for Wajib ul Scuttling Pawkistan's chances of topping the group.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket ... 04746.html Dutch will have the unique experience of playing the second-best one-day team in the world in front of a full house.
so, which team is the first-best?

Akthar suffers from the same problem as Waqar after his back injury. Without 90 mph pace, most batsmen will make minced meat of his bowling. As for Kamran Akmal, he must have someone really close to him in Pindi GHQ to hold on to his place in the team after repeated pathetic performances! The guy cannot hold on to the ball even if his life depended on it!

Dhoni on Suresh Raina’s chances of making it to the XI:

It is becoming difficult to make it happen because we want Yusuf also to spend a bit more time in the middle. To play Raina in the game against the Netherlands, we would have to request either a Virat Kohli or a Gautam Gambhir or a Virender Sehwag to take rest in this game. I don’t see anyone doing that because it is their home ground.

Now that Yuvraj has performed with both the ball and bat chances of Raina making it to the playing 11 are zero.

See, that is where we are short sighted. raina should replace chawla, and not the middle order. he is a nice tail chaser, and terrific fielder plus, a reasonable good bowler. When we have afraidic yuvraj getting 5 wickets, one day soon raina will rain in. yuvraj was just given more oppty.. so, he remains. i dunno if rainia is better ashwin, perhaps may be competitive enough in the bowling dept. but, what a terrific player raina is to be benched. A benched chawla or ashwin sounds more reasonable than a benched raina.

Isn't that why he is called God?

I'm as much a fan of Sachin as anybody, but why should individual records come before team's best interests? I know it sounds cliched, but thats something even Sachin accepts.

Holland Batting first- Indian bowling Line up Zaheer, Nehra, Harbhajan and CHAWLA. I am betting on Holland scoring 275+ first up unless Zaheer or Yuvraj get a 5fer.

"We would have wanted to bat first, since this pitch will slow down as we go. We wanted to bring Nehra in, so Munaf is being left out. Piyush Chawla stays. Compared to Ashwin, Chawla needs more practice so we decided to play him today. Ashwin is mentally stronger, and it doesn't matter against whom he comes in, he will do well."

Doesnt make any sense at all. Drop a batsman(srt), rest zaheer and pick nehra and aswin. you'll win anyway and give match practice to munna and nehra. Abs no logic esp when you're playing ned!

Why Chawla ? This is like Rahul Dravid selecting Sehwag repeatedly after a string of failures, leading one to wonder if Sehwag had photos of Dravid ;)

Munaf has been dropped in favour of Nehra. today was a good chance to test Raina incase one batsman gets a injury (most likely cases being SRT or Yuvraj).

Chawla leads a charmed life. let us see his figures today.

Call me crazy, but Chawla's got the talent. Yes, he lacks the discipline but I still believe he can turn into a much better prospect if we can tighten the screws in his head. Hope he's put throught some commando training program. Bhajji should have been dropped for Ashwin.

And where was the case to play Sachin in this match (except what Marten dreamed about - an easy century)?

If that Nehra's still not fit enough, time to check him into a maternity home and call in for a replacement. We should check if Pravin Kumar's OK now.

As some one said the theory going to get thrown out of the window today is that Nehra is the bowling Mahdi we have been waiting for. Looks like that. I am telling you SS is our Mahdi.

To emphasize the Point , Dhoni is trying everything, reviewing LBW decesions when it came of the glove. Huh? Remember Torsion Bar Failure on Arjun anyone?

Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan is believed to have tested positive at the ongoing World Cup. According to sportsencounter.com, the opening batsman was selected for a random dope test after a World Cup match and the result was positive. If the news is correct, he will join Shane Warne in the list of the players who tested positive during the 2003 World Cup in South Africa.

6 of the first 18 overs by Bhajji. No wickets...looks like his dry run is going to continue even against minnows on home ground.
