SLAMABAD: An election tribunal has rejected the appeal of former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, barring him from contesting in the general elections, DawnNews reported. In a big blow to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the tribunal enforced the rejection of Ashraf’s nomination papers by Returning Officer (RO) Kha-Lidh Arsehead. The former prime minister was to run for National Assembly seat from NA-51 in Gujar Khan, from where he had won in previous two elections.A relative of Raja Jawaid Ikhlas, the opponent in the former PM’s constituency, had complained that Pervez Ashraf had been misusing his discretionary funds in his constituency which amounted to pre-poll rigging and showed his partisan approach and corrupt practices. The tribunal, comprising Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh and Justice Mamoon Rashid of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench, heard the arguments from both the sides and reserved its judgment on Monday.Raja Pervez Ashraf is the secretary general of the PPP.

Just looking at the CSI on CNN Boston explosions. They can learn a thing or two from Pakis. I did not see the high pressure hoses etc. for gathering evidence etc. And they are closing the area for 24 hours to gather evidence, just plain amateurs, I say. They should ask Pakiland to send someone to help.

More Pakistani youth would prefer Islamic law or military rule than democracy, a survey suggests.
More than half of 5,000 18-29 year-old Pakistanis polled said democracy had not been good for them or the country. When asked to pick the best political system, both Sharia and military rule were favoured over democracy.

Do not be delusional. There is a remarkable similarity between roaches and pakis and they will claim:
- Religion has no terror - US agrees.
- Pakistan is too big to fail - US agrees.
- All pakis are not terrorists - US agrees.
- Poverty breads terrors - US sends more moolah.
- Pakistan is vital to global peace and is a strategic friend - US sends more armament.
If for some reason if Pakis not able to travel to US for medical and educational purposes - our sickular brigade wants India being a big brother to open its purse to care of these vultures.
Bottom line, nothing happens to pakis, and their business of collecting Jijya will continue as usual.

Islamic Yoga
“Yoga is one of the most serious searches in the world,” begins Habib. “It is the search to find your true self. We are empty carcasses until we don’t know who we are and that is what real yoga enables one to do.”
Based on the concept of zikar, Kundalini yoga incorporates mysticism and connects it to Sufism. “We basically take a mantra or a set music rhythm and the body utilises the mantra or the music into its movement,” she continues.
This particular method of yoga includes different sets of movement and breathing exercises such as Surya Namaskar(praying to the sun god?). “Various teachers have their own specialised sets that allow for them and their pupils to create the necessary connection,” she adds.
Habib likes to use Sufism in her yoga practices. “Vadanta (sic) and Sufism are different practices of the same thing,” says Habib. “My love has always been for the Prophet and my journey is a homage to him (obligatory statement to appease the Islamic fundoos).” With the use of names of Allah, Habib creates her own mantrato follow and brings the mysticism of Islam to the practice of yoga. “What yoga does is give you an experience of God,” (whatever happened to day of judgement) enlightens Habib, “It’s about the experience and not the physical attributes. I use qawalli to go into haal (is that supposed to be halal, to be islam compliant) and not only is it soothing and relaxing but it is also very enjoyable.”

Tensions rise over Afghan, Pakistan border dispute
Hundreds of Afghan university students in the eastern city of Jalalabad took to the streets on Monday to protest the building of a Pakistani military gate in what the Afghan defense ministry says is inside Afghanistan.
The incident is the latest in rising tensions between the two sides, whose attempts to lure the Taliban to the peace table have stalled amid their feuding.
Pakistani support for the Afghan peace process is considered essential because of the two countries' long, porous border and Islamabad's history of supporting militant groups.
The protest was sparked by a statement on Sunday by Afghan President Hamid Karzai who ordered his top officials to take immediate action to remove the gate and other "Pakistani military installations near the Durand Line".
The Durand Line is the 1893 British-mandated border between the
Chanting "death to Pakistan", "death to ISI" and "death to (Pakistani President Asif Ali) Zardari", the students marched from Nangarhar university and blocked the main highway between Kabul and Jalalabad for about an hour.

http://tribune.com.pk/story/535710/indefinite-suspension-pakistan-stops-release-of-afghan-taliban-prisoners/
The process of releasing Taliban prisoners currently in Pakistani custody has been suspended indefinitely due to renewed tensions between Islamabad and Kabul, The Express Tribune has learnt.
According to officials, talks between the two neighbours on the fate of the remaining Taliban detainees have come to a halt ever since Afghanistan accused Pakistan of sabotaging the fragile peace process.
The process of Taliban release started in November when Pakistan at the request of the Afghan High Peace Council freed more than a dozen detainees to help jump-start the reconciliation process. Subsequently, Islamabad released more Taliban prisoners, including ailing former Afghan justice minister Nooruddin Turabi, former Helmand governor Abdul Bari, Allahdad Tabib and Azam Kakoo in December, bringing the total number to 26.
The move was initially hailed by the Karzai administration. But later it claimed that many of the freed Taliban rejoined the insurgent group instead of facilitating the peace process.
Kabul accused Islamabad of mishandling the issue. The two countries then agreed to establish a mechanism under which future releases would be coordinated. Under the new arrangement, senior foreign ministry officials from the two sides would coordinate and prepare a list of prisoners for their release.
The two sides agreed to operationalise the mechanism in February at the trilateral summit attended by leaders from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Britain in London. However, officials from the two countries have yet to hold a maiden session in the wake of strains in ties.
The latest tensions stem from Afghanistan’s allegations that Pakistan had laid down preconditions for supporting the reconciliation process.
The Afghan deputy foreign minister recently said that his country could pursue talks with the Taliban without Pakistan, which is considered crucial for any peace deal.

India 'finds dead falcon fitted with camera'
Indian security forces have found a dead falcon fitted with a small camera which has sparked alarm near the country's highly militarised border with Pakistan, an official said.
By AFP
11:35AM BST 15 Apr 2013
The carcass was discovered near the ancient fort city of Jaisalmer in the far west of the desert state of Rajasthan where the Indian armed forces regularly conduct drills and war games.
"It was fitted with some device and an antenna," a senior Border Security Force officer stationed in the state told AFP by telephone on condition of anonymity.
Suspicions were initially that the bird might have been used for military spying, but the camera did not appear very sophisticated and it might instead have been the work of Pakistani hunters, the official said.
"However, the possibility of it being an espionage attempt from Pakistan cannot be ruled out at this stage," he said, adding that an investigation was being carried out.
In 2010, Indian police detained a pigeon under armed guard after it was caught on an alleged spying mission.
Local officers in Punjab state, which lies to the north of Rajasthan, said the white bird had a ring around its foot and a Pakistani phone number and address stamped on its body in red ink.
