Shouldn't there be a dedicated thread for Paris attacks?

LIVE REPORT: 100 hostages taken in theater shooting in Paris; at least 600 reportedly dead
French President Francois Hollande says he is closing the country’s borders and declaring a state of emergency after several dozen people were killed in a series of unprecedented terrorist attacks.

Hollande, in a televised address to his nation, said the nation would stand firm and united against the attackers.

He said security forces are assaulting one of the sites hit by Friday’s attacks, without elaborating.

“It’s a horror,” he said.

[quote="Karan M"]Horrific!

Yes, but still not comparable to what India has suffered- the Mumbai attacks of 11/26/2008, and the Mumbai train bombings of July/2006.

Whoa, where did you come up with this 600 dead figure- that could trigger something very major, if true.

^^^ No need to gor for bother of creating another thread for this attack as the Islamism thread suffices.

Media is reporting that the terroists were shouting Mohammadden religious slogans like Allah Hu Akbar making this an act of Mohammadden terrorism. With that yet another European Capital city joins the list of being victimised by Mohammadden religion inspired violence after London (7/7) and Madrid (11-M).

Only yesterday our Prime Minister Modi at the UK Parliament had said:

“We must adopt a Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism in the UN without delay. There should be no distinction between terrorist groups or discrimination between nations”.

I hope that the carnage in Paris will at least goad all of the EU taking real punitive measures against all Mohammadden Terrorism sponsors including State sponsors of terror such as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for fomenting Mohammadden Terrorism targeting India, without distinction:

Paris attacks: ISIS gunmen shouted 'Allah Akbar' as victims were slaughtered in co-ordinated attacks

Without minimising the carnage that has taken place in France, it should be put in perspective, from an Indian standpoint. Even before the post 9-11 world, India had suffered some pretty horrific attacks on its soil, and one attack away from its borders- the Air India massacre.

The Mumbai serial bombs of March/1993- 280 dead

Khalistan bus massacres in 1987, one killed 35, another 38, several smaller incidents before and after

Khalistan train massacres, two in Ludhiana in 1991 killed 55 and 125 respectively, smaller attacks killed 19 labourers from UP-Bihar.

Amritsar market place bombing- 47 dead in 1988.

Air- India terrorist attack killed 329, the worst slaughter involving a plane before the WTC

So India is no stranger to horrific mass murders, it's just that an attack on India is not remembered or acknowledged by the mango population of the world, the way a terror attack on the US, UK, France or Israel is. It's only a few intellectuals, journalists and conscientious individuals who make references to India, when the subject of terrorism arises.

X Posted from the "Paris 13/11 Attack" thread.

In view of the Mohammadden Terrorist violence in Paris on Friday 13 November 2015 that has killed 150 plus, Government of India must carefully evaluate the security risk of attending United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Paris between 30 November and 11 December 2015. Evaluation regards issuing a Travel Advisory against travel to France should also be made.

It will be victory for Islamic terrorism if the Paris Conf. is postponed. In fact it should go ahead with all security arrangements in place as a symbol of defiance to the Islamic hordes and signal an end to mutual hostility between the West and Russia so that both sides can work together to defeat and exterminate Islamic terror worldwide.Russia just lost over 200 citizens in the terrorist bombing of the Russian passr. aircraft ,full details and analysis still awaited.

Mr.Modi's words of condolence and support for France at this time were well chosen. With Paris standing side by side with Mumbai/Bombay now as "sister victims of terror",perhaps it would be fitting if the citizens of Mumbai held a candlelight vigil at the Gateway for the victims of Paris and to also remember the victims of Mumbai yet again.Could BRF Mumbaikars take it up?
