R-man, one thing that strikes me so far is how close pre-election polls are matching exit polls so far in swing states. If that holds, as Nate Silver predicts, its game set and match to O.

Romney led in the popular vote, gaining 51 percent to the president's 47 percent with 1 percent of the precincts reporting. But the early-deciding states gave Obama 64 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House, to 40 for Romney.

I'm calling this election for Obama, comfortably... 285 plus electoral votes.

Not that it matters with regard to Indian interests. Pakistan will get billions of dollars a year in specifically anti-India high tech weaponry, either way. TSPA/ISI will receive aid waivers against any clauses related to sponsoring terrorism, no matter what. And China will be courted as the G2 partner of the new millennium, whoever turns out to be the next president. And US policy towards India will remain roughly the same.

of course it was always Obama who was winning. It was never a "tight race" electoral college wise.

I spread the blame to
- US MSM for hyping this up as 'tight' so they can get more eyeballs
- gullible media buying into the 'mittmentum'
- false equivalency type 'fairness' in not calling out the BS on Romney side and giving equal coverage to it, spreading the illusion that people are ok with it and would still vote for Romney.

quick points:

the Republicans need to *very seriously* study the Democratic "ground machine". in Ohio, Iowa, and Florida, they put up solid surprises.

Florida was supposed to go to Romney, but didn't.

in Iowa, the margin of Romney's loss is colossally huge. for a mid-western state, that is a stunning performance by the Democrats.

in Ohio, the margin of Democratic victory is similarly greater than what even Bush got in 2000, and 2004.

The Republicans **really** need to study what they didn't do that the Democrats did.

also, Democrats did EXCEEDINGLY WELL in the urban areas. they usually win, but this time, their margins were so enormous that they neutered the huge advantage that Republicans have in rural areas. this is witnessed, once again, in Iowa, Ohio, and Florida.

Romney campaign is refusing to concede Ohio :((

Obama's people ran a fantastic campaign, far more in touch with the pulse of the country. But then again, maybe the little locket in Ombaba's wallet had something to do with it too. After all... just one week before the election, a mighty wind arose in the Caribbean and slammed into the East Coast, smashing the "Mittmentum" and putting Ombaba over the top! He looked more Presidential than ever, and the visible cooperation with Chris Christie completely undermined the Romney-Ryan spin that Ombaba can't work with Republicans.

Ombaba wins the Election!

More drone bombings on Pakistan! More bangles for Paki Army!

At least no new President comes along, trying to reset the relationship with Pakistan, hoping that he can "wean away" the Pakistanis from extremism, through more love and more money for the Pakis. No need for a new learning curve on Pakistan.
