The Paqui uniforms are standard US army style that the Pakarmy has acquired from the US over the last few years, given in gratitude for tearing down those 2 New York towers.
The armed men and soldiers do not appear in the same photo - but the body language is suggestive of their respective roles and the brick wall appears to be the same one.

Statement on the Proposed Cordoba House Mosque near Ground Zero
By: Newt Gingrich
July 21, 2010 6:00 pm
There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia. The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over.
The proposed "Cordoba House" overlooking the World Trade Center site where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks - is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites. For example, most of them don’t understand that “Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term. It refers to Cordoba, Spain – the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex.
Today, some of the Mosque’s backers insist this term is being used to "symbolize interfaith cooperation" when, in fact, every Islamist in the world recognizes Cordoba as a symbol of Islamic conquest. It is a sign of their contempt for Americans and their confidence in our historic ignorance that they would deliberately insult us this way. Those Islamists and their apologists who argue for "religious toleration" are arrogantly dishonest. They ignore the fact that more than 100 mosques already exist in New York City. Meanwhile, there are no churches or synagogues in all of Saudi Arabia. In fact no Christian or Jew can even enter Mecca. And they lecture us about tolerance.
If the people behind the Cordoba House were serious about religious toleration, they would be imploring the Saudis, as fellow Muslims, to immediately open up Mecca to all and immediately announce their intention to allow non-Muslim houses of worship in the Kingdom. They should be asked by the news media if they would be willing to lead such a campaign.
We have not been able to rebuild the World Trade Center in nine years. Now we are being told a 13 story, $100 million megamosque will be built within a year overlooking the site of the most devastating surprise attack in American history.
Finally where is the money coming from? The people behind the Cordoba House refuse to reveal all their funding sources. America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive designed to undermine and destroy our civilization. Sadly, too many of our elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could.
No mosque.
No self deception.
No surrender.
The time to take a stand is now - at this site on this issue. If, after reading this, you agree with it, please pass it on to others. This is the most clearly stated, sensible, and historically accurate statement that I have read on this issue (and I’ve read a lot of them). Why can’t we have a President as intelligent, educated, and patriotic as this former Speaker of the House?

Trade rows to bristle at EU-India meet
That is the way to go. Let's squeeze Pakistan at every opportunity. Pakistan must realize ultimately that India's voice would matter significantly in world fora when it comes to Pakistan and world powers would listen to her.ndia faces off on trade with its leading partner, the European Union, at a summit slated to make headway this week on four years of stalled negotiations, but set on a collision course on Pakistan.
Prompted by Britain, the EU is offering Pakistan three years of trade concessions to help recovery from devastating floods in the extremist-plagued state — but needs a waiver from the WTO in Geneva to kickstart the aid.
“India is not sure trade is the best way to address issues related to relief,” an Asian diplomat said ahead of Friday’s EU-India summit.
Addressing fears this could prompt Delhi to block trade-linked aid to Islamabad at the 153-nation World Trade Organization, an EU source said: “We understand the concerns, but are ready to discuss this.”
“We are very committed to this initiative,” he added, “and we hope India will be ready to support it.”
Counter-terrorism and security in a region where India has a pre-eminent role will feature prominently at the talks Friday between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, EU president Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso.
With India heavily involved in aid for Afghanistan, including building the Kabul parliament, the situation there as well as in Pakistan and Myanmar, which shares a troublesome border with India, feature high on the agenda.

EU should instead give these concessions to Afghanistan, and EU should demand from Pakistan, that if they want these concessions, they should allow transit between India and Afghanistan, so that India can kick start some textile industry in Afghanistan also.SSridhar wrote:Trade rows to bristle at EU-India meet

I wonder if there's been a policy change. First the ban on cotton exports which are jacking up world cotton prices and thus hitting the Pakis due to shortfall in cotton production and now this, which seems to indicate India is playing its version of you're either with us or against us.
I find the wording in this paragraph very interesting:
Mainland Europe may have to choose not only between the Pakis and us but also between Poodlistan-driven foreign policy and a India centric foreign policy.Counter-terrorism and security in a region where India has a pre-eminent role will feature prominently at the talks Friday between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, EU president Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso.
Sarosky's visit seems to indicate France may have already made up its mind on whose side of the fence it is on, Germany too.
Give a few more years, once India overtakes Italy, Britain and France (in that order) in terms of US$GDP, if handled properly, trade will become an instrument of mass destruction as far as our western neighbors are concerned. Unfortunately, the Chinese won't be able to transfer economic WMD to the Pakis.
Re: Terrorist Islamic Republic of Pakistan (TSP): Oct. 20, 2
If indeed it was indian action which made the life for TSP textile companies difficult. By increasing the price of cotton. Then it is one of the rare show of Indian assertiveness wrt the TSP.

^^^This is a real bad story - those men are from Baluch Regiment - regular TSPA and not Frontier Constabulary. How does an infantry battalion manage to get its troops captured? And I'm sure these guys considered it prudent to surrender than fight. After all, those are a platoon worth of troops - how come they never fought to last bullet-last man, as they would generally do against IA? That is against the basic ethos of an Infantry jawan and paltan.
To me it tells a very revealing story - the troops fighting the Taliban are not at all convinced about the 'cause' as they would be against Kaffir India. So, when push came to shove - they chose to surrender than fight. I'm of the opinion that they thought that their beards will save the day or their story that they're in it due to higher ups. But the Taliban being the more pious ones did not buy it and we see the result in the pictures. IMO, the virus of jehaard has truly and royaly ****** the TSPA.

Rohit,
You are giving these guys more credit then they deserve. When has the TSPA fought the IA to the last man. They have always done a down hill sky every time they were faced with real IA men.
The TSPA as a force is good only for the raping of women and buctchering of unarmed men. When they have to face a fighting force. They will surrender without a fight. Just as these guys have done. No surprises in that.
JMT
PS; Amongst other things, this could also show a failure of the lower level leadership in the concerned platoon / company it self. Having said that this is not the first occasion in which the TSPA & it paramilitary accociates has surrendered to the Pakiban.

It started with the March 2004 confrontation between the TTP and the PA at Kaloosha, South Waziristan. Since that pasting they got there, and the consequent ruling by the ulema that the dead PA soldiers couldn't hope to enter the Heavens and get their entitlement of 72 + 28, interest, which was never high in the first place, has further waned. We have followed here how hundreds of brave PA fauj simply surrendered to have some R&R or ran backwards when confronted with the Purer specimen since then. There was one particular video, IIRC, that captured the spirit of the 10:1 PA rather vividly.Lalmohan wrote:p.s. we've been reading for some time about the lack of conviction in the PA in fighting the bunnies in various investigative reports, this is proof perhaps?

UK Guardian: Pakistani media publish fake WikiLeaks cables attacking India
They read like the most extraordinary revelations. Citing the WikiLeaks cables, major Pakistani newspapers this morning carried stories that purported to detail eye-popping American assessments of India's military and civilian leaders.
According to the reports, US diplomats described senior Indian generals as vain, egotistical and genocidal; they said India's government is secretly allied with Hindu fundamentalists; and they claimed Indian spies are covertly supporting Islamist militants in Pakistan's tribal belt and Balochistan.
"Enough evidence of Indian involvement in Waziristan, Balochistan," read the front-page story in the News; an almost identical story appeared in the Urdu-language Jang, Pakistan's bestselling daily.
If accurate, the disclosures would confirm the worst fears of Pakistani nationalist hawks and threaten relations between Washington and New Delhi. But they are not accurate.
An extensive search of the WikiLeaks database by the Guardian by date, name and keyword failed to locate any of the incendiary allegations. It suggests this is the first case of WikiLeaks being exploited for propaganda purposes.

Three points:
1) When the moderates jihadis (After all TSPA Army motto is about jihad) fight the hardliners they lose to the hardliners as they know they are fighting against the more Islamics.
2) If these are Baluchis then they might not have the will to die in Pakjab wars
3) If these are Pakjabis in the Baluch regt then see 1)
All three points show that TSPA is not interested in fighting the jihads for it will fracture. What is needed is a Brigadier level guy crossing over like Dudayev.

Pakistan keeps India guessing on Quershi visit
http://www.indianexpress.com/news/Pakis ... sit/722812
http://www.indianexpress.com/news/Pakis ... sit/722812
With still no word from Pakistan on the possible visit of its foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to New Delhi early next year, official sources on Thursday said it is getting conflicting signals despite regular reaffirmations from India on External Affairs Minister S M Krishna’s invitation to Qureshi. While one message coming through from Islamabad is that the visit will take place only if there is an assurance of concrete deliverables, the other message is that the Pakistan Foreign Minister will certainly come and the only aspect being looked at is whether it should be in January or a few months later. India, on its part, has made it known that it would welcome the Pakistan Foreign Minister and is willing to hold talks on all bilateral issues but at the same time, sources said, New Delhi also expects Islamabad to bring the perpetrators of 26/11 to “some form of justice”.While India tries to make sense of these contradictory signals, it is also careful not to provoke Pakistan without a basis. So, government sources on Thursday sought to dispel speculation on a Pakistan link in the Varanasi blast, saying investigators were still “connecting the dots” and that they had not found any evidence yet to establish a Pakistan link to the terror strike. However, the government is clear that the attack was indeed carried out by “rump elements” of the Indian Mujahideen. Sources said there was no doubt that the Indian Mujahideen was a creation of the Lashkar-e-Toiba and while those contacts remain, it was “too early” to make any conclusions. Moreover, sources added, the forensic investigation is “very complicated” in this case because of the near stampede like situation after the blast that destroyed a lot of the forensic evidence. On the capabilities of the current lot of Indian Mujahideen terrorists, sources said, the capacity to carry out major strikes is much less than before.

Clearly, this is an attempt by the PA & the ISI. They are not idiots. They know that their bluff would be called in double quick time and yet they have propagated falsehood with abandon. This strategy goes back to pre-Partition days. Their entire argument for Pakistan was based on falsehood. There is a method in their madness. All that the PA & the ISI is interested in is that the people of Pakistan must be kept supplied with such information so as to maintain their enduring hostility with India. The 3½ Friends will eventually understand such natural feelings of an insecure nation and will advise India not to do anything to increase the Pakistani insecurity and anxiety.arun wrote:The media of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan publishes fabricated Wikileaks cables most likely planted by the uniformed Jihadi’s of the military of the Islamic Republic in a bid to whip up anti India hysteria:

CRamS, that is a ReDiff report that quotes 'sources' in the MEA. Either the reporter might have diluted what the sources said or the sources might themselves have not used strong words that we may like to hear but have never heard. However, for anyone who has followed statements emanating from our Foreign Secretary or FM or Home Minister or even the Prime Minister since the Islamabad fiasco in June 2010, it is very clear that India has linked any future talks to 'some' progress on the prosecution of 26/11. What we don't know is what defines 'some'. For example, I quote from Ms. Nirupama Rao's Headlines Today interview:CRamS wrote:Boss, where in that report does India insist on strong action on 26/11? Matter of fact, it is almost urging, nah, begging for dialouge, and says "some action on 26/11"; not quite a strong demand or else kind of statement. What am I missing?
However, the fear that always lurks in our mind is that Indian leadership might reverse even this determined stance at the drop of a Pakistani hat and we will have to start all over again.Foreign Secretary:I think we have come away {from Islamabad} with the sober realization that there is a lot of work that we both sides will have to do to take this process forward. Our Minister, External Affairs Minister Krishna, has conveyed to Foreign Minister Qureshi that we are ready to take this dialogue forward. So, our willingness, the political will that we have indicated remains very much central to this process. And, as I said, the process of how this moves forward in a sense will be catalysed by Pakistan delivering on the Mumbai terror trial. That will be a very prime catalyst.
Interviewer: So, that will be the barometer for you to judge Pakistan?
Foreign Secretary: That is a very significant barometer but simultaneous or concomitant with that we are prepared to take graduated steps to build trust and to build confidence relating to humanitarian issues, issues that concern people on both sides because there are people.
Re: Terrorist Islamic Republic of Pakistan (TSP): Oct. 20, 2
SSridhar:
So it would be interesting to learn as to what action TSP took on Mumbai that resulted in India calling for dialouge. But knowing this Indian leadership, its business as usual. Publicly at least TSP continues to show the middle finger on Mumbai, and even as those reports of WikiLeaks in the TSP media indicate, they continue to kick India on the sheen, US of course is US and enough said about how much US cares for Mumbai or TSP terror against India.

Now, he can spin it by saying there has been no terror attack since Mumbai (by Indian standards of absorbing TSP terror, Pune was just white noise, and recent Varnasi is not even worth a blip). But the reality is that the psychological trauma of Mumbai on India has been so profound, and TSPA/ISI know this for scoring such a devastating hit and paying no price and sticking the middle finger up India's arse, and are still in the process of cashing the Mumbai cheque. Also, you may disagree, but as the WikiLeaks indicate, US position is nothing but noxious and odious and disgusting for their crass insensitivity: obsessing more about India's reaction than TSP's terror. This, despite some undoubtedly some US pressure on TSP to go slow on India. So basically, the message from TSP is that give us something or else the lull post Mumbai is just that, a mirage. So my question to you is this. What do you think is MMS going to give up? Anything on Kashmir?
