Pakistan wont have Msuhy to kick around anymore

He long dreamed of himself as Pakistan’s Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, forging a path similar to the Turkish military ruler that secularized that Muslim country. He hoped to be a moderating force of reason, a “chief executive,” a secular reformer with clout in a land of Taliban and madrassas, the guy that could keep things together and running while the nation modernized, someone that impressed US Pentagon chief Colin Powell.

But last week Musharraf’s much-touted return to Karachi did not excite crowds; efforts to run his All-Pakistan Muslim League party failed in four districts. And he’s ended up looking more like Don Quixote than an Ataturk
.
He didn't realize that those days of using "secularism" to enslave entire nations to western-colonial masters are long gone.

Turkey itself is shedding its Secularism and India is on its way followed by China.

He ran away from the mildest one.

I think by doing this he has become allowable to be W-e-Cuttleded by TTP hordes storming his farm hauz.

In his best interest to submit to custody and saved in Attock Fort (prison).

I never saw a solid base of supporters for Musharraf. Many of those that liked him in the past did so only because he had power as the dictator. Once he lost that position, he had very little to fall back on since Kayani was going to keep the military support for himself.

The PPP followers and PML-N followers fell back to their normal patterns of behavior. Musharraf wasn't able to tap into the Taliban sympathizer mindset of Imran Khan supporters because of his buckling (somewhat) to U.S. pressure in Fall 2001.

It is interesting that Musharraf didn't follow the lead of Altaf to stay in exile and forget about going back to Pakistan.

Dear Maulaners, please watch this video, coffee sbill alert. Totally BENIS material but posting it here as it talks about mutiny in Pakshitstani Army. It contains startling revelations by right hand man of Lal Topi Faakeer ZZH PBUH. The name of ZZH right hand man is Emaad Khalid. The most entertaining bit to me was where Emaad reveals that Lal topi Faakeer wants Kiyani to die in heli or car crash and many corps kamandoos are ready for mutiny against him. Emaad also reveals that ZZH takes Pkr 6lacs per month from ISI and says ISI got him for cheap and if such a talented person like him was working for RAW or CIA he wud be getting a lot more money. ZZH is also a big womanizer. The full video is 51mins and I have only watched half and cudn't wait to post it here for entertainment of fellow rakshaks. May uparwala , most beneficial - most merciful - most benevolent make the prophecy of ZZH Faakeer come true and may Kiya-nahi get his 72 hoors in jannat soon via car or heli crash. Al-ham-du-lilla please also gave more fan following of PakArmy TFTA's to lal topi ZZH so that they can stage a mutiny. Inshallah make the pak-army deepest shade of green. I do not think that Musharraf ever imagined, when he returned to TSP, that his party, APML, would sweep the polls and he would become the PM. No. He knew through his ISI contacts that the mandate was going to be fractured and he hoped to stitch an alliance with the help of remnants in the TSPA/ISI and his contacts in various political parties with himself assuming pole position.

"But then they've been trying to be helpful in other ways, and they have been," he said.

"We have a route for transiting our aid all of our supplies to our troops in Afghanistan for the last years, and now bringing things out. We've had cooperation on intel. We've had cooperation on nuclear weapons.

"...We have cooperation on efforts to ferret out, you know, bad actors in the FATA, in the western part of the country. I think they've got 150,000 troops out there fighting the same fight we are now," Kerry said as he listed out the co-operation of Pakistan in the war against terrorism.

It was perhaps with that potential conflict in mind that the country’s Supreme Court was reported by Mr. Musharraf’s aides to have designated his luxury villa — secured by both retired and serving soldiers — as a “sub-jail” late Thursday night rather than demanding that he appear outside the compound’s walls for arrest.

The tight security at his home, ringed by guard posts and barbed wire, was at first a reflection of repeated Taliban threats to kill the former general.

( Dont miss the Poaq accent and full diplay of Inbreeding effect)
Pervez Musharraf's bizarre return to Pakistan from self-imposed exile, which has already been marked by the former president being disqualified from upcoming elections and live-tweeting his bail hearing (and exercise routine), just got even more bizarre, with the once-all powerful Pakistani leader fleeing a courtroom in Islamabad on Thursday after judges ordered his arrest over a bitter 2007 clash with the country's judiciary. The Telegraph has the best footage of the getaway (Musharraf is in the black SUV):According to Reuters, Musharraf is now holed up in a farm outside Islamabad and police are restricting access to the area. But it's unclear whether he will actually be detained "since the military would be unlikely to tolerate such a humiliating spectacle for a retired chief." As if today's spectacle wasn't humiliating enough?

After looking at the location of his villa (as seen from Google Earth) there seem to be lots of empty fields nearby.

Anyone read the book "Dogs of War" by Frederick Forsythe? I'm reminded of the words on the hero of the novel, one Cat Shannon, when he finishes completing a recon assessment of the dictator Jean Kimba's villa.
He grinned at Boniface. "You know, kid, that bloody fool thinks he has protected himself with a big wall topped with glass and only one entrance. All he has really done in pin himself inside a brick trap, a great big closed-in killing ground."
As some of you might have noticed, Mr. Forsythe's novels contain a good deal of realism in them. For those who have not read the book, wikipedia to the rescue:
Preparation and plan
Why the book sounds so realistic and do-able

Shiv ji,
Two things will happen.
1. Pak Army will probably not kill Musharraf. Killing him sets a precedence where an ex chief was killed. It is a different story that Zia was killed by the Pak Fauj itself and a few ambitious Jernails.
Musharraf is useless as long as Kiyani is in Power. If Kiyani gets mango crated, there will be a leadership vaccum which the next crore commander will fill in. So no advantage to Mushy
2. Bartania and Saudia will always rise to the occasion to protect Mushy to the end. They have to have stooges in the future also, and they don't want to be seen as abandoning their pyara baccha. Abandoning anyone again sets a bad example, their future stooges might lose confidence in them

Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf arrested
Zee Media Bureau

Islamabad: Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf was on Friday morning arrested from his Chak Shahzad farmhouse a day after his bail extension plea was cancelled by the Islamabad High Court after which he fled from the court complex.

According to reports, Pervez Musharraf along with his team of lawyers appeared before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abbas Shah’s court this morning where he requested for extension in his bail.

Instead, he was arrested following the Islamabad High Court’s order to arrest him on Thursday.

Islamabad Police chief also requested the court to consider his house as sub-jail due to security issues and threat to his life.

The former Pakistan ruler was placed under house arrest yesterday after he fled from the court complex shortly after the Islamabad High Court dismissed his interim bail extension plea and ordered his arrest in the case related to the detention of senior judges.

After a high-level meeting at the Presidency, Musharraf's farmhouse in the suburbs of Islamabad was declared a sub-jail.
As the drama unfolded, Musharraf's lawyers went to the Supreme Court to file a pre-arrest bail application so that he does not have surrender to the police.

However, the apex court returned the 14-page bail application as the timings for the Registrar's office had ended.

Referring to Musharraf, Judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui said he had "spread fear in the society, insecurity amongst the judicial officers, alarm in the lawyers' community and terror throughout Pakistan".

He said sacking judges was "an act of terrorism", declined Musharraf's request to extend his bail and summoned the Islamabad police chief to court today to explain why Musharraf had not been detained.

In a written judgement printed in English, he ordered that: "He (Musharraf) be taken into custody and dealt with in accordance with law."

Musharraf's legal team said Thursday's drama had not dented his optimism.

"General Musharraf is hale and hearty. He is in high spirits, there is no change in his confidence level. He is sipping coffee and smoking cigars," his lawyer Ahmed Raza Kasuri told reporters outside his villa.

Dozens of his supporters chanted "this is injustice" and "long live Musharraf" as his office appealed against the order in the Supreme Court, denouncing the decision as motivated by "personal vendettas".

Musharraf's spokesperson Reza Bukhari told journalists that he was "under protection from the Pakistan government".

Pakistan's cricket chief said Thursday he had offered to host qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup despite a four-year suspension of international cricket in the country over security fears.

Pakistan has not staged any top-level cricket since militants attacked the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in March 2009, killing eight people and wounding seven visiting players.

Loyal Son Of Desh = Musharaf was/is/will be the view in Delhi  . No one did more than he for what he did to TSPA & in chai-biscuit sessions with New Delhi . Unkil played Musharaf card is an open secret . Musharaf thought its back to Presidency , Pindi jernails thought Unkil finally on their side & the desert fox/ Zardari knew its his turn  . So here's how it goes : Mushy is the bakra now in shikar of TSPA . If TSPA intervene via coup specialist 111 then they are on hook of Unkil . If TSPA make backroom deal then too it lose the last strand of their izzat & rutba ( its gone) . Should they follow backroom deal = uninterrupted civil rule & that means in every likelihood another loyal son of Desh / Sharif brothers from Kashmri valley of Hissar Distt. , Haryana :rotfl: ,INDIA :rotfl: comes to power . He too has his own scores to settle & put his own men in pindi .

Either way Unkil think its getting what it want ie 'honorable exit & NO dash to Kabul from TSPA's on leave peshawar corp & hopefully babus in desh should order a generous quota of chai-biscuit that will follow all this but this time more 'intensively' . About 'Saffron terrorism' in desh , it will continue uninterrupted as it has now become an extension of chai-biscuit .
