harbhajan got bowled middle stump. would not blame him when yuvraj and kohli got out softly and landed us in this mess. the ball was a unplayable reverse swinging yorker from steyn gun.

3 overs to go. at best 320.

We perfectly squandered the flying start. virat and yusuf(sad), and to an extent gambhir are not power players actually. bhojraj was in nice mood, futhan started this nightmare.

300 all out is my prediction. pathetic ti!

mashallah I feel our bowlers will finally get into teach-a-lesson mode and give the SA a real hiding. so dont worry for now.

zaheer khan out. let the SA gloat and get complacent...good for us when we take them down later.

all the elements of our chankian masterplan are proceeding on the chess board.

4 to get from 10 balls to reach 300. as per the match situation some 45 minutes ago the figure could have been 4 instead of 3

Very funny. Not. Gambhir should have never started the slide. After Sachin was out, a few more steady overs of 4RR should have been the plan. Crime to throw wickets.

Stupid commentator calling this a SA comeback. It is TI mistake and I blame the decision maker(s).

India all out for 296. Pathetic. A pure paki performance from the middle order and the lower order.

See, we are through to the QF already. Why then should we sweat it out in the remaining league matches ? We will conserve our energies for the next stage and keep our players from getting injured batting or bowling or fielding. This is the chankian spin.

Not true, Sachin has made many centuris in which India has won the game. Beside this game is not over yet, 296 is certainly not 360 but it is not 225 either!

I never have a good feeling when the team batting first doesn't play out the entire 50 overs quota. We have a huge problem in the middle-order and tail against quality bowling.

Better than 9 wickets for 29 runs, no? Did anyone think TI was playing kindergartners from Somalia or Fiji?

Neither Sachin nor Gautam could have foreseen the slide. Why should the other batsmen get out cheaply. It was certainly not due to extraordinary bowling.

You see, Ashwin is being reserved as the surprise weapon for 'shock and awe' for the SF & F as the Americans did in Somalia way back in c. 1993.

the ball got harder to hit and GG/SRT made it look easy, so others not similarly well set got a bit carried away and under pressure to keep up a high scoring rate. Yuvraj unusually started with a 6 off the first ball he faced (off johan botha) and finished his innings trying to hit a 6.

another issue is ground is quite a bit larger than BLR. the hits which got yuvraj and zak out would be clean 6s in BLR.

and pathan may be good enough to beat up ordinary pacers and spinners but surely not that great against quality fast bowlers which SA certainly have in steyn gun.
pushing him up the order to have a hit will misfire more often than not.

Exactly, nothing extra-ordinary. In fact after the couple of overs, SA fielding was bad. Fumbles, over-throws (bad coverage) ityadi. After crossing 250, at one point TI had to take it to the next level, so they fired both cylinders. My opinion, call it from hindsight or years of watching cricket :-), would be to fire one cylinder and keep the other cylinder steady and rotating the strike. So they started going, and Sachin fell. So far fine. But then Gambhir should have not fallen immediately, of course unless the ball was really darn good or bad luck. It was neither case, a poor decision on his part or TI's part to keep going forcing totally new batsmen on the pitch. It is not like Kenyans were bowling, no? The first few overs, though we scored fast, there were some pretty good balls bowled by SA.

So it is not Sachin I am blaming, but Gautam and TI for allowing the slide to start. Like I said, TI should not allow 2 wickets to fall in the space of 25 runs. We had a high RR, so taking 3-4 overs scoring singles without losing a wicket would have helped (and will help).

I totally blame gambhir. Bring raina back, I say!

Its no secret that as long as gawd is out at the crease, desi morale never really evaporates. It was gambhir's job to fire and provide 100%+ s/r while gawd would support with riskless play.

However, gambhir choked and slowed things down considerably.

That put pressure on gawd himself to take more of the scoring burden and start playing 'em risky lofts and all....and then the fateful thing happened. Go home gambhir! Bring back raina!.
