Tar and feather the b*****d! "Recusing" himself? Who does he think he is? Why isn't the lady journo filing a police complaint?

The laughable "top it all" award still goes to uNDTV who claim that "TT has apologised unconditionally"..and that's all folks.

From the above article, this is what Turdpal* did:
An email that was sent by the victim who is a reporter with Tehelka to the managing editor however says that what Tejpal did was not a bad lapse of judgment but a case of serious sexual assault. She says that Tejpal tried to disrobe her and groped her twice during the recently concluded Think festival in Goa.

*Cannot bring myself to call Turdpal by his real name ....

Guys the above is sexual assault. Period. It was not a "momentary lapse of judgement" but a situation where he felt arrogant enough to violate a woman. It also means that this guy has done this assault thingies at various levels in past. This guy was so drunk with power over others that he felt invincible.

Now let us see what secular brigades led by journos like Rana Ayyub and SC Lawyers like Karuna Nundy are upto.

So, the girl turdpal tried to rape is the same age as one of his two daughters!! And there are internal emails going out within the old boy network to refrain from covering this. uNDTV perhaps let out the story early. But the others are quiet.

The assault, or part of it, has been captured on hotel CCTV.

I do hope the girl goes ahead and files a police complaint.

Rana Ayyub or Karuna Nundy won't do jack sh**! Shoma Choudhary, the current managing editor of Tehelka got a letter from the girl outlining all that Turdpal did. Yet, she chose to brush it under the carpet and calls it a "momentary lapse of judgement"!! And Shoma claims to be a 'woman'.

Thanks to SM these ***turds are being shown the mirror and the public are getting to see it too.

And here is St. Shoma pardoning Turdpal
New Delhi, Nov 20: In a shocking incident on Wednesday, Tarun Tejpal, the Editor of the news giant Tehelka, has "removed himself" from the position for a period of 6 months. Tarun has recused himself for six months as the Editor-in-Chief of Tehelka, after what is being described, in an official statement, as 'an incident with a journalist'.

In an e-mail sent to the weekly magazine's Managing Editor, Shoma Chaudhury, Mr Tejpal wrote: "A bad lapse of judgment, an awful misreading of the situation, have led to an unfortunate incident that rails against all we believe in and fight for. I have already unconditionally apologised for my misconduct to the concerned journalist, but I feel impelled to atone further." He added, "I feel atonement cannot be just words. I must do the penance that lacerates me. I am therefore offering to recuse myself from the editorship of Tehelka, and from the Tehelka office, for the next six months."

Forwarding Tejpal's mail to Tehelka's employees this evening, Ms Chaudhury wrote: "There has been an untoward incident, and though he has extended an unconditional apology to the colleague involved, Tarun will be recusing himself as the editor of Tehelka for the next six months." When NDTV asked about the matter to Shoma, she said, "This is an internal matter. The journalist concerned is satisfied with the action taken. Tarun Tejpal's recusing himself is in keeping with the principles of right response and standards that we want to live by."

That is the point Rajithn'ji. Remind them all the time and point out the action they took (or did not take) every time they try to speak up. Basically, hollow them out.

And Turdpal will enjoy a nice long vacation in Goa on a house provided by the illegal mining barons (mentioned in the HT story).

At this stage, hollow them out - on comments in newspapers, on twitter/facebook/whatsapp. Let your SHQ/GHQ/Friends/Cousins know. Just spread the news. So much so that anybody shudders to bring up "Tehelka" as a valid proof point.

And yes Shoma should be made to step down as well.... for suppressing and giving mis-leading statement and emotionally harassing the lady.

This is full blown sexual assault - no different from the delhi bus rape. Only the tools were different - the methods same.

If there is a will - there is a way. GOI or any citizen can step in and file a suo-moto cause. The victim does not have to complain to police! The victim has already complained and now has been dissuaded from going to police - that is cause-evidence itself.

If there is a cctv recording, and if the complaint is in public space, they can take action, esp if the state women commission or something asks them.

Isnt there state commission for women or similar body in Goa? I am sure this technicality can be overcome.

NDTV did the unimaginable thing by getting a friend of the victim on air who confirmed that its way beyond "an untoward incident". Before that it was all speculations on twitter. After that Saikat Datta twitted the graphic details of the letter written by the victim to Shoma Choudhary. Do read Shoma Choudhary's tweet on Asaram Rape case and you will puke over the hypocrisy.

Times Now also covered the news where Sanket Updhayay was on air. But he gave very little detail and confined to Tejpal's and Shoma's emails. After much prodding by the anchor he confirmed that Sexual Assault happened twice.

CNN-IBN did a blink and you will miss it type of story.

My guess is that news channels will now try to blabber about presence of sexual harassment committee at work-place to shield the rapist tejpal who I am sure must be thinking about getting out of the country.

What's with this sudden urge of tarun tejpal to shamelessly change colors to go dharmic and do "penance" hain ji?

After all his life supporting evanjehadis and islamists while dissing dharmic panths, Tarun tejpal should be "crucified" for his self admitted sin of sexual molestation .

I am not sure about the grounds for a suo-moto case. There is CCTV recording of the elevator encounter. The problem with a third party filing a case would be if the girl then writes subsequently that the matter has been settled.

But rest assured the NCW won't do a thing..they are busy filing candidature across many constituencies themselves! The turds.

This is however a great point for the BJP when they are on TV. Keep highlighting how none of them thought it necessary to support the girl and instead circled their wagons around TURDpal. Call out their pseudo-pontification at every opportunity! Tell them they have no right to question anyone on morals (or lack thereof, ethics (or lack thereof)…NOTHING. NADA.

In the US, you can settle a civil case, but criminal cases are handled by the state.
No one wants a rapist running amock. They would be put in the sex-offender registry.

Assaulting a person (groping etc) is battery covered under IPC and a crime whether the victim reports or not. The crime happened in Goa.

Ramana is right. This is a criminal case. Suo moto cases can be taken (even in certain civil cases if it concerns public safety and health) and further the statuate of limitation does not apply - particularly in criminal cases.

Goa police can investigate. So can Delhi police and also the state police where the girl is resident. Any Indian citizen can approach SC., but that is a long and costly process.

Here is more evidence (and this is no less than Delhi bus rape & murder) :
Tarun Tejpal Faces Sexual Assault Charges
POSTED BY BUZZ ON NOV 20, 2013 AT 23:03 IST

As seems to have become routine nowadays, news first broke on Twitter via a link to an internal office email sent by Tehelka magazine's Managing Editor, Shoma Chaudhury, which appended an email "in apology" from the weekly's editor Tarun Tejpal to her.

The emails speak for themselves and are reproduced below:

From: "Shoma Chaudhury" <[email protected]>
Date: 20 Nov 2013 19:03
Subject: FW: Atonement
To: "Editors" <[email protected]>
Cc: "Bureau" <[email protected]>

Dear All,

This may come as a rude surprise to many of you. There is a letter from Tarun appended to this mail. There has been an untoward incident, and though he has extended an unconditional apology to the colleague involved, Tarun will be recusing himself as the editor of Tehelka for the next six months.

Tehelka is an institution he has built, and which many journalists both current and former, have contributed to in the most profound ways. Throughout our 13-year career, we have proudly articulated and tried to live by the highest standards. We have also believed that when there is a mistake or lapse of any kind, one can only respond with right thought and action. In keeping with this stated principle, and the collective values we live by, Tarun will be stepping down for the period mentioned.

This is a hard time for all of us, and I hope all of you will stand by the institution.

Best,
shoma

Subject: Atonement

My dear Shoma,

The last few days have been most testing, and I squarely take the blame for this. A bad lapse of judgment, an awful misreading of the situation, have led to an unfortunate incident that rails against all we believe in and fight for.

I have already unconditionally apologised for my misconduct to the concerned journalist, but I feel impelled to atone further. Tehelka has been born and built, day on day, with my blood, toil, tears and sweat, and that of many others, against near-insurmountable odds. It has lived for and fought the big battles of our time, always on the side of the oppressed and the wronged, always on the side of equity and justice. Its voice has travelled the world and changed policy and perceptions. It has been a beacon for those who would do the right thing.

Through bad, and worse, times I have protected Tehelka and its journalists from the inevitable demands of power and corporations. I have always allowed every journalist's sense of the right to flower and express itself. No one has ever been asked to do what they don't believe in.

I have always held that Tehelka the institution, and its work, have always been infinitely more important than any of us individuals. It is tragic, therefore, that in a lapse of judgment I have hurt our own high principles. Because it involves Tehelka, and a sterling shared legacy, I feel atonement cannot be just words. I must do the penance that lacerates me. I am therefore offering to recuse myself from the editorship of Tehelka, and from the Tehelka office, for the next six months.

You have always been stellar, Shoma, and even as I apologise to you and all my other colleagues, for this unfortunate incident, I leave Tehelka in your more than capable and safe hands.

In apology,
Tarun
Sent from BlackBerry(r) on Airtel

Soon thereafter, the Business Standard carried a news item, quoting Shoma Chaudhury as telling them: “It is an internal problem and we are not setting up any enquiry into the matter.”

Ms Chaudhuri was also quoted by NDTV as saying:

"This is an internal matter. The journalist concerned is satisfied with the action taken. Tarun Tejpal's recusing himself is in keeping with the principles of right response and standards that we want to live by."

Officially, there was no news about the nature of the "unfortunate"/"untoward" incident or "misconduct" till NDTV quoted "a person close to the [concerned] journalist" who described it as "grave sexual misconduct."

"It happened not once, but twice and the girl is completely shattered and emotionally scarred. She continues to put forward her plea that Tehelka should set up a committee to look into sexual harassment cases according to Visakha guidelines"

NDTV also tweeted more details about the incident:

It has now emerged that the concerned journalist, also wrote to Tehelka managing editor Chaudhuri, now officiating as editor, providing details about what had happened at Goa during the magazine's recently concluded Think festival:

"As you read through details...I hope you will also understand how traumatic and terrifying it has been for me to report this to you."

We are taking a conscious call not to reproduce the full text of the journalist's email to protect her identity, which goes on to say that:

[Tarun Tejpal] sexually assaulted me at Think on two occasions last week

Both times, I returned to my room in a completely distraught condition, trembling and crying

As of Saturday evening, he sent me text messages insinuating that I misconstrued "a drunken banter". That is not what happened.

In her email she demanded that Tehelka should:

constitute an anti sexual harassment cell as per the Vishaka guidelines immediately, to investigate this matter

You mean the police can take cognisance of the act having taken place..even without a plaintiff or witnesses? Perhaps if the hotel submits the CCTV footage to the police and complains of an assault having taken place on its property. I am not sure. Don't know the legal elements that can be brought to bear.

You can bet your bottom Rupee/dollar/pound that the girl is being, as we speak, pummelled with offers of money coupled with threats etc to keep quiet or vanish.

Though they might be smug about their election winning capabilities or alliances' strength to divide and conquer; at some point in time people will look at the crowd sizes. If I were to predict, it would have to be a rally for Sonia - it is probably easier to pull crowd for her than Rahul. And Congress would have to pull 4-5 lakhs to show they have the capabilities too. They cannot pull 75,000 and claim credit.

And when Congress fails to get 5 lakh, but ends up getting 1.5-2 lakhs; the media will portray it as a swing towards Congress. They will point out that people are switching over to Congress.

Tarun Tejpal is a scumbag. He is the son of a big state level CONGgi leader.
When Sonia won, he called her Durga and said he wants India to bow to her feet.

His sister and he blackmailed ex-Goa CM to give funds for Think! fest by withholding Mining scam investigation.

When NDA was investigating Tehelka, after UPA came into power,Sonia recommended to MMS to remove all the cases against them

May be many here already know this , but "Blackmailing" is how media makes its moolah in aaj ka Bharat ...
Its the same situation from journos penning local editions of vernacular dailies to 24x7 yak yakking National Media on TV.

So in above instance Tarun Tejpal was just conducting his media "business" .

TT will leave the country within the next couple of days (before any court can take up the case and order for police custody) and come back when the issue is "sorted". And you can bet the issue will be sorted. TURDpal enjoys the protection of none other than Queen Bee.

Check the twitter feeds of media peers. Everyone wants to hear "both sides of the story" before they "judge TURDpal". As Sardesai said "Hammam me sab nange hai"..and it could not be more true for an issue like this.

Anyways..OT
