When the water supply stops, there is still enough for one flush of the commode. That is the 3-4 attacks, pigheads who have already crossed over and itching to meet the virgins. I think this winter will be relatively peaceful once the last batch is terminated, while we figure out how to deal with the inbred insurgency.Bheeshma wrote:To put things in perspective. Since the surgical strikes pakis or their proxies have tried 3-4 attacks in Kashmir and failed. Why are we not continuing with hits across pakjab?
No, that takes away the surprise element. Israel is in a different situation altogether, let's not go there. Literally, we should toss a coin/roll the dice to see whether to react and by how much & when - that keeps the enemy on their tenterhooks.Karthik S wrote:+1 That's what I've been wondering. had any of those post SS attacks been successful, we'd have had another Uri. Better be like Israel, retaliate whenever we are attacked.
As a person watching Pakistan for quite some time, I have recorded a series of data points that show the complete radicalization of the Pakistani armed forces, especially the Army. We know that all here but it is worth recalling.Bhurishravas wrote:If Generals take action against Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar, they will loose H&D and will become wajeeb ul cutlet for lower rank jihaadi afsars.
A leading Pakistani daily on Wednesday asked the civilian and military establishment why action against JeM chief Masood Azhar and JuD's Hafiz Saeed was "danger" to the country's national security.
The strong editorial in The Nation, considered close to the government and military establishment, came as a prominent journalist, Cyril Almeida, of Dawn was banned+ from leaving Pakistan because of his front-page report on a rift between the military and the civilian government over the military's covert support to militant groups like the Haqqani network, Taliban and the LeT.
The editorial titled 'How to Lose Friends And Alienate People' said the government and the military instead of taking actions against Azhar and Saeed was lecturing the press.
Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) leader and Pathankot terror attack mastermind Azhar and Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, roam freely in Pakistan+ and are believed to have the protection of the military.
The daily said in its editorial that it was a "disturbing day when civilian and military top leadership meet to lecture the media on how to do their job."
"Apparently a barrage of online abuse, and three official denials were not enough to assuage tempers riled after Almeida's exclusive story in Dawn, detailing an unusual exchange between the very same civilian and military top brass that yesterday issued forth a statement on the violation of 'universally acknowledged principles of reporting on national security issues', the editorial said.
"The report by Almeida+ has been called 'fabricated', and 'speculative reporting'. But the government and military top brass in yesterday's meeting delivered no explanation for why government MNA's are protesting the visible presence of banned outfits in Pakistan. Or why possible action against Masood Azhar, or Hafiz Saeed is a danger to 'national security'. Or why Pakistan faces increasing isolation? We're all earsm.
"Instead, how dare the government and military top brass lecture the press on how to do their job. How dare they treat a feted reporter like a criminal. And how dare they imply that they have either the right or the ability or the monopoly to declare what Pakistan's 'national interest' is," it said.
"And for Almeida, nothing but solidarity. More power to you, and to your pen. The press stands with you," it added.
In an editorial, Dawn said it continues to stand-by Almeida's story and has rejected allegations of "vested interest and false reporting".
The Karachi Press Club has also demanded that the travel ban on Almeida be lifted.
I was hoping we got this Paki pig turd in our surgical strikes across the LoC
i am hoping some idiot pindi general will show usual tactical brilliance and actually do something stupid based on his words - and we can finish the Pak problem forever before next sankranti. With the US elections happening and sentiments against Islamic hardliners at an all time high around the globe, this is the ideal window of opportunity to settle all scores.la.khan wrote:I was hoping we got this Paki pig turd in our surgical strikes across the LoCOh well, better luck next time.
The opening bit of the above article came from Peter Lavoy’s response to a question from The Hindu’s Varghese K George at an event organized by the US based think-tank, CSIS.Peregrine wrote:US backs India's 'right to self-defence', slams Pakistan for linking Afghan peace to Kashmir
WASHINGTON: Supporting India's "right to self-defence" in the aftermath of the Uri attack which it dubbed a "clear case of cross-border terrorism", the US on Wednesday dismissed the recent attempt by Pakistan to link peace in war-torn Afghanistan with resolution of the Kashmir issue.
The White House backed India's right to defend itself as with any other country, in view of the recent surgical strike but advised caution given the heavy militarisation between the two neighbours.
It also said that that the US is making every effort to ensure that India become a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) by the end of this year.
Making a rare appearance before a Washington audience, Peter Lavoy, the White House's point person for South Asia, said that India-US ties are the "most dynamic relationship" for the US as he listed the Obama administration's achievements in strengthening the relationship between the two largest democracies of the world.
"It (Uri) was a clear case of cross-border terrorism. We condemned this act of terrorism. It was a horrific attack. Every country has a right to self-defence. But in a heavily militarised relationship that has also experienced three wars, there is indeed a need for caution and restraint," he said responding to a question on the Uri attack.
"We share with India, the concern for preventing any future attack. We empathise with the Indian position that it needs to respond militarily to cross-border threat of terrorism. But we also advise caution," Lavoy said.
India and Pakistan have a "friction-filled relationship" and they have not found a way to overcome that, he said.
Last week, Lavoy met the two special envoys of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Kashmir.
The two Pakistani envoys in their public meetings had linked peace in Afghanistan to resolving the Kashmir issue.
"We certainly do not believe that the situation in Afghanistan is linked with Kashmir," the top White House official said.
Lavoy said the US is making every effort to ensure that India becomes a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group by the end of this year.
"In 2016 India ought to join the NSG," he said and referred to the commitment made by the US in this regard.
India becoming a member of NSG, he argued would exhibit New Delhi's new leadership in non-proliferation.
"Every effort is being made to ensure India ought to join NSG this year," Lavoy said to a question.

No new date set for hearing into appeal against death penalty for Aasia Bibi. The Supreme Court on Thursday delayed an appeal into the country’s most notorious blasphemy case against a Christian mother on death row since 2010, after one of the judges stepped down.
Thousands of security troops had been deployed in the capital as the court readied to hear a final appeal in the case of Aasia Bibi, with observers warning of “tremendous” repercussions for minorities in Muslim-majority Pakistan. But the threat of violence was largely abated when one of the three-judge bench, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, told the court he had to recuse himself from the case.
“I was a part of the bench that was hearing the case of Salmaan Taseer, and this case is related to that,” he told the court, an AFP reporter said.
The "bearded cleric" of the Red Mosque, it appears is more powerful in Pakiland than the Supreme Court Justice !Clerics at the influential Lal Masjid in Islamabad warned late Wednesday they would launch a nationwide protest if Bibi were released. “Any one who will defend or will protect the blasphemer of [Islam’s] Prophet will equally be considered as blasphemer,” spokesman Hafiz Ihtesham Ahmed said. He warned against foreign diplomats lobbying for Bibi’s release, saying clerics would mobilize the public if she was freed and “everyone will become Qadri.”
Bibi’s lawyer Saif-ul-Mulook called the Lal Masjid threat “big.”
Blasphemy is a hugely sensitive issue in Pakistan. Anyone even accused of insulting Islam risks a violent and bloody death at the hands of vigilantes. Rights groups complain the controversial legislation is often abused to carry out personal vendettas, mainly against minority Christians.
She would become the first person in Pakistan to be executed for blasphemy. The repercussions for minorities, human rights and the blasphemy laws will be “tremendous” if that happens, says Shahzad Akbar, a human rights lawyer. Observers have warned of possible violence if the conviction is overturned, with some calling the case a battle for Pakistan’s soul as the state walks a line between upholding human rights and appeasing hardliners.
An inquiry will be conducted into the placement of Dawn staffer Cyril Almeida's name on the Exit Control List (ECL), Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar announced Thursday, after which "everyone will be allowed to travel freely."
"The inquiry will end in three to four days and then everyone (Ganja included ?) will be allowed to travel freely," he said.
So, India is being blamed for Almeida's name on the ECL !!!Referring, to the story, the interior minister said, "An attempt has been made to adversely impact a critical national security paradigm, so there should be an inquiry... Indian media used the report, saying that publication of the story verifies the Indian narrative of Pakistani dealings with non-state actors."
In the wake of the travel ban on Almeida, human rights and journalists' organisations including the HRCP, PFUJ and CPNE protested and rallied in his support. Most TV news channels also ran reports and conducted programs criticising the government's decision.
British investigative agency Scotland Yard on Thursday dropped investigations into the money laundering case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain in London, reported DawnNews.Cases against senior MQM leader Mohammad Anwar and businessman Sarfaraz Merchant were also dropped by the Metropolitan Police. The cases were wrapped up due to lack of evidence.
The London Metropolitan Police Service on October 13, following a detailed evidential review and upon receipt of legal advice, made the decision to withdraw their application in a civil case under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 for the forfeiture of over £500,000 in cash."The cash had been seized from a number of venues between 2012 and 2014," read the report.Having examined all of the evidence the Met accepted that there was insufficient evidence to prove that the money seized was the proceeds of crime or was intended for use in unlawful conduct.
IOWs, scarce UK police resources were expended ( on the instigation of Paki Govt ) on a wild goose catch ; HMG should bill the Pakistan Govt !During the course of the investigation: Six people were arrested
11 other people were interviewed under caution A total of 28 interviews were conducted at police stations of persons under investigation
Over 100 witness statements were taken Nine premises were searched which were located in the South and North of England
There are other serious pending charges against the MQM leader which includes murder of a MQM leader ; of course, in Pakistan political circles, he is also considered to be an Indian Agent !!!The police found £167,525.92 in the MQM’s offices in London and a further £289,785.32 in Mr Hussain’s home. A smaller sum — around £30,000 — was found in Mr Merchant’s home. The MQM supremo was arrested in the case on June 3, 2014 by the London Metropolitan Police. However, Altaf was released four days later.

ISLAMABAD: The Emerging Markets newspaper does not belong to International Monetary Fund, said Harald Finger, the IMF’s Mission Chief to Pakistan on Thursday amid new revelations that five state-owned firms partially funded the publication’s latest edition.
Last week, the newspaper conferred Best Finance Minister of South Asia Award to Ishaq Dar and Best country in South Asia in infrastructure development to Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal. Government functionaries jumped to congratulate them for winning such a ‘prestigious’ award.
“Emerging Markets is an independent publication,” said Harald Finger, the Washington-based chief of the IMF mission for Pakistan, while addressing a press conference from Washington through a video-link. He was responding to a question about whether he congratulated Finance Minister Dar on winning IMF/WB Best South Asia Minister award.
The brazen lying of the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan increases by going from citing unnamed sources citing unnamed sources in the case involving Russia and her Ambassador to India, Alexander Kadakin, to unnamed sources citing named sources in different layers in the present case of Germany and her Ambassador to India, Dr. martin Ney..arun wrote:Islamic Republic of Pakistan based Newspaper, “The News”, citing “Highly placed diplomatic sources” claims that following protests by the Islamic Republic, Russia had “disapproved the observations of Ambassador Alexander Kadakin” who is Russia’s Ambassador to India and indicated that Kadakin would be “reprimanded” for comments supporting India.
While this is most likely the usual fabrication by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I do hope that our Foreign Policy establishment is keeping an eye on things to ensure that this is not a case of Russia playing fast and loose given that holding of a Military exercise with the Islamic Republic was not a very friendly thing to do in the aftermath of Uri notwithstanding holding an exercise with us at the same time.
Meanwhile wait and watch:
From “The News”:Highly placed diplomatic sources told The News here Sunday that Pakistan agitated with Kremlin about the remarks of its ambassador in the Indian capital. Russia while responding to Pakistan has made it absolutely clear that the statement of its ambassador in New Delhi doesn’t commensurate with the Russian position on the subject and it disapproved the observations of Ambassador Alexander Kadakin.
It is understood that the ambassador who is serving in New Delhi since 2009 would be reprimanded on this count. Alexander Kadakin welcomed Indian so-called raids on terrorist launch-pads across the LoC. Kadakin said the military exercise with Pakistan was in fact intended to encourage that country not to target its neighbour.
Russia frustrates Indian efforts to isolate Pakistan
Meanwhile our Ministry of External affairs has denied the story calling it “completely concocted and baseless”:Indian FS admits surgical strike was a bluff
By Ansar Abbasi October 14, 2016 ………………………………
An informed official source said that the Pakistani authorities had been officially conveyed by its mission in Berlin that during an official meeting with the German foreign office, Pakistan was told about India’s fake “surgical strikes”.
The source said that the Pakistani mission had been told that during a formal meeting on the issue of the ongoing India-Pakistan stand-off between German Ambassador to India Dr Martin Ney and Indian FS Subramaniam Jaishankar in New Delhi, “the Indian Foreign Secretary has categorically denied and said that there was no ‘surgical strike’ undertaken by Indian Army inside Azad Kashmir, Pakistan”.
According to the source, on October 4, 2016, Minister Political Ms Rukhsana Afzal from the Embassy of Pakistan, Berlin, was scheduled to visit the German Foreign Office to raise the issue of Indian atrocities in the IHK. During thisDuring this planned meeting, Ms Rukhsana was to meet with officials from HR and Gender Policy and AfPak Division. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ms Rukhsana also raised a few important aspects with regard to the Uri's false-flag and the fabricated surgical strike.
Ms Rukhsana was meeting the Senior Desk Officer of AfPak Division, Ms Simone Stemmler and during the meeting Ms Karen Goebels and Mr Jens Wagner from the German Foreign Ministry were also present.

2.Foreign exchange reserves not at ‘comfortable levels’KARACHI: Overseas Pakistani workers remitted $1,609 million during September 2016, down 9.3% compared to $1,776 million in the same month of last year, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign currency reserves have not yet reached a “comfortable level” and the rupee is significantly overvalued compared to the US dollar, and requires depreciation to remain competitive in international markets, said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Thursday.
The remarks come amid a plethora of boasts given by the Pakistani government over the comfortable position the country finds itself in when it comes to managing the import bill and foreign exchange reserves.
CheersThe IMF report also showed that Pakistan’s inflation-adjustedexchange rate, known as Real Effective Exchange Rate (REER), should be Rs118.3 to a dollar.“We have estimated that the REER is somehow overvalued between 5% to 20%, depending upon which model you apply, although these models are not very accurate but give an indication where things stand,” said Finger.
If the news was inaccurate, how can it be termed a 'leakage' ?“An attempt has been made to adversely affect a big national security paradigm, so there should be an inquiry.”
“The news is inaccurate. So who leaked this inaccurate news? It was published on the behest of someone, and that will be uncovered.”

The notification declares Punjabi a “foul language for the children as well as parents”.
“Foul language is NOT ALLOWED within and outside the school premises, in the morning, during the school hours, and after home time”
“Foul language includes taunts, abuses, Punjabi and the hate speech.”
notification had been circulated in all branches of the school in Punjab
Punjabi scholar and columnist Mushtaq Soofi ....found it “disgracing to millions of Punjabis who are living in Pakistan and Indian Punjab
“The Punjabi language has an age-old history starting off from Baba Farid (Pakpattan) to Khwaja Farid (Kot Mithan). The notification is a disgrace and ignorance of a ‘certain class’ towards Punjabi heritage”
Pakjabis should switch to arabic, the language of their "four fathers".“This means that our children should not speak to their grandparents only because their language is Punjabi,”

There you go folks. EXACTLY as I had predictedshiv wrote:Our (Indian) views about Cyril Almeida are a liittle bit like sickular libtard views of Rohit Vemula. A victim is created by semi-fiction so we can all feel sorry for the victim and curse the persecutor - in this case the Pakstani army.
But let me state some views here and make a prediction. the Paki army is way more sophisticated in psy-ops that we give them credit. Compared with them we are blundering nincompoop-retards. When the Paki army wants to warn a journalist they do what they did to Salim Shezad or Najam Sethi. Please use Google if you don't know.
Putting Cyril Almeida on the exit control list looks very reasonable to Americans. "Now here is a reasonable, law abiding country. They have things like "exit control lists". There will be due process of law after which we can expect justice to prevail." After some time the Paki army will look very good by taking him off the list. Almeida himself belongs to the elite. I bet what remains of my left testimonial that he has close relatives in the Paki army.
No point getting fooled by Pakistan
Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday hinted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet might even consider selling of ‘nuclear knowledge’ to overcome financial crisis being faced by the country. Some recent reports in the Pakistani media also said the government has, after motorway and airports, decided to mortgage PTV and Radio Pakistan buildings in order to secure loans.
Nothing new here; Xerox Khan, on the behest of the then military rulers has already transferred the know-how of nuclear bomb to rogue states like North Korea, Iran, and Libya !Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the Pakistani Interior Minister said, “Someday I call one of you my friend and suppose tell you that a meeting has been conducted and it has been decided that Pakistan is under huge economic crunch and will so sell its nuclear knowledge; so, now you tell me, you are a journalist, but you are a Pakistani too, wouldn’t you be able to understand that what could be the implications for Pakistan if I publish this news?”
India blamed again for this leak !!!During the conference, Khan also said, “An attempt has been made to adversely impact a critical national security paradigm, so there should be an inquiry… Indian media used the report, saying that publication of the story verifies the Indian narrative of Pakistani dealings with non-state actors.”
Uh-oh folks. The Mighty Mucchad General Sharif chaired a crore kamandu conference just 3 weeks before his scheduled retirement date. I hope that they were just talking about golf and not about koops...In a clear indication that the rumblings over a media report of sharp differences between the Nawaz Sharif government and the military are yet to die down, Pakistan Army chief General Raheel Sharif chaired a corps commanders meeting at the general headquarters at Rawalpindi on Friday, expressing "serious concern over the feeding of false and fabricated story of an important security meeting held at PM house".

Last week at the Brussels Conference, Afghanistan won financial pledges worth $15.2 billion until 2020, including half a milliondollars from Pakistan. Though quite encouraging, the pledges at the Conference fall short of $4 billion annual target set in 2012 at the Tokyo conference. The unexpectedly high pledges in times of global turmoil and donor fatigue won’t be easy to materialise without solid clampdown against corruption and human trafficking. Afghans form the largest group of asylum seekers entering the EU territories in tens of thousands, majority of whom failed to get the refugee status. EU conditioned its $1.5 billion aid to Afghanistan’s progress in anti-corruption and return of failed asylum seekers.Afghan security forces remain demoralised with insider attacks and desertions. From Northern provinces, such as Kunduz, the central region of Uruzgan, to eastern and southern areas, Afghanistan is faced with resurgent Taliban. And amid erosion of the writ of the state, gains from Kabul’s recent peace deal with Hizb-i-Islami appear miniscule.Over the last two years, Ghani-Abdullah government has opted to strengthen its relations with India, costing relations with Pakistan. The ties between the latter remain at the lowest ebb after Afghanistan followed India’s decision to boycott SAARC summit in Islamabad. Nonetheless, Pakistan sees Afghanistan as its conjoined twin. The landlocked Central Asian nation has relied on its eastern and southeastern neighbour for trade and travel for centuries. In fact, it will be more pragmatic for Afghanistan to use Pakistan’s land route to connect with a much better and influential partner, China. Though Afghanistan and China do share a border in the Wakhan Corridor, the narrow, treacherous region has only one communication channel called the Wakhjir Pass in the Hindu Kush or Pamirs. Linking Wakhan in Afghanistan with Tashkurgan Tajik region in Xinjiang, China, the 5,000 metre high pass is neither an official border nor has road connections on either side. Moreover, harsh weather conditions dominate for five months.Instead of pursuing antagonistic policy against Pakistan to appease India, Afghanistan can utilise Pakistani infrastructure under CPEC to access Chinese markets and resources.Meanwhile, it can maintain India-Iran corridor for trade through Chabahar port. To Afghanistan’s advantage, China has also stepped up efforts to integrate her in Central Asia and Eurasia. This August, Beijing organised joint counter-terror exercises with Pakistan, Afghan and Tajik militaries. Later, the four respective army chief attended the concluding ceremony. The forum can help Pakistan and Afghanistan overcome disputes with China’s meditation. Posturing against Pakistan and bidding for India is, nonetheless, suicidal for Afghanistan’s short-term as well as long-term interests. It’s time for Kabul to respond affirmatively to Islamabad’s embrace in Brussels.
