Woman visits Pakistan with fake visa, held
A Mazgaon-based salesgirl has moved a bail application in the city civil and sessions court after she was arrested on charges of travelling to Pakistan on a forged visa.

The 21-year-old , Daniella Rosano, was arrested on August 31, by the Sahar police at the international airport after being deported to the city from Karachi, Pakistan.

In the bail plea, Daniella said she had visited Pakistan to preach Christianity. The proposal to preach was allegedly brought forth by one Thomas who used to visit the same church as hers in Mazgaon . Thomas told Daniella that several new churches were established in Pakistan and there was a need for preachers. But when she arrived at Karachi airport, an immigration officer found that her visa was issued from Nairobi and he spotted certain discrepancies.

The immigration officer then found that the visa was forged. The Indian high commission was informed, which checked with officials in Nairobi . It was found that Daniella had never travelled to Nairobi and the visa was not genuine. She was deported to Mumbai and subsequently arrested. She was remanded in police custody till September 3 and subsequently in judicial custody.

Daniella was booked under sections 465, 468, 471 and 420 of the IPC. Seeking bail, Daniella claimed that she was innocent and that she had been cheated by Thomas.

Blood on the tracks as Karachi-bound trains collide
Two people were killed and nine others injured when the Karachi-bound train, Shalimar Express, rammed into the Millat Express at Ghaggar Phatak in Bin Qasim Town early Monday.

Around 52 kilometres outside the city, the railway tracks were strewn with the twisted metal of the remains of the coaches and engine. Residents, who were watching the rescue work, said that they were woken up by a sickening crash at 3:20 am.

According to Pakistan Railways officials, the two Karachi-bound trains – Millat Express and Karachi Express – were amalgamated and were running on one engine. :(( They were waiting for the Operational-373, the approval to enter a station, at Ghaggar Phatak, when another Karachi-bound train, the Shalimar Express, hit them from the back, throwing the last two coaches off the tracks. At least three bogies were destroyed.
According to Pakistan Railways deputy engineer Sameenullah Gandpur, the trains’ movements are operated with an auto-block system and at Dhabeji Railway Station the signal was red, which means that the driver of the Shalimar Express should have slowed down. He didn’t which is why he hit the Millat Express. “Perhaps the driver was sleeping,” he speculated, adding that this is one of main reasons why a driver can miss a signal.
In the searing heat, labourers from the railway department removed the metal, with a 1930-British era steam crane doing most of the work. The tracks and the coaches were smeared with red as material from some drums on board were damaged. Men tried to move the jammed wheels of the engine of the Shalimar Express.
The engine destroyed in the accident is said to be worth Rs300 million. The engine that was damaged was one of the 10 finest engines in the Pakistan Railways, explained Divisional Commercial Officer Shoaib Adil  . It took 11 hours to clear the way. The schedule for several services was disrupted and the trains which were reaching Karachi from Lahore among other cities were stopped at nearby stations.

‘Vishvas’: A word that threatens Pakistan
Pakistan doesn’t know how to respond to challenges based on culture. A number of things have happened over the past years because of this refusal or inability to understand culture as a value in human life. The people have been forced to look for entertainment on their own because the concept of entertainment cannot be discussed in Pakistan without inviting the restrictive maximalism of the clergy.
After 1947, culture was what joined Pakistan with India. Pakistan has killed culture to face India more effectively in the battlefield. Two contaminations are to be fought. The first is the local accretions that Islam suffered when the Muslims were ruling India; the second is the entertainment that comes across the border in all manner of ways.

Was Pakistan Behind the Camp Bastion Attack?
By Jonathan Foreman
The raid on the Camp Bastion base by the Taliban last Friday was on every level a highly successful enemy operation, even given the fact that the U.S. and NATO defenders killed at least 14 of the attackers, perhaps wiping out their entire force.

After all, the destruction of six U.S. Harrier jump-jets and the killing of a U.S. Marine lieutenant colonel in charge of a Harrier squadron represent a level of achievement that would have pleased U.S. or British commandos in World War II.

The only thing that would be entirely surprising about Pakistani involvement in the Bastion operation is its unprecedented scale and daring. Never before has the United States’ supposed ally and secret enemy gone so far in its efforts to spill American rather than Afghan blood.

As a vengeance attack by Rawalpindi, one designed to highlight American vulnerability and Pakistani strength, the Bastion raid is all the more disturbing because it would never have been carried out unless Pakistan were confident that it would face no serious come-back.

Good trends continuing in karachi.
The Express Tribune article posted below indicates this particular demonstration of the IEDology of Pakistan to be a case of Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden sectarian violence inspired by differing interpretations of Mohammaddenism.

This was apparently not a random attack and the target were adherents of the Dawoodi Bohra aka Bohra aka Bohri sect of Mohammaddenism. This reportedly was not the first time that this sect had aroused the predatory instincts of their co-religionists. A previous attack in the same locality a month back was aborted when a bomb was defused:

Rush hour terror: 8 dead as twin blasts rip through Karachi market

More on the attack from the Express Tribune in a separate article:

Hyderi bomb blasts: Karachi’s most peaceful people face terror

For a country that claims Mohammaddenism is the religion of peace and that they were created as a safe haven for the Mohammaddens of the Indian Sub-Continent, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan certainly has a disgracefully high incidence of Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden religious inspired violence.

Meanwhile the death toll in this particular demonstration of the IEDology of Pakistan has climbed to 5:

Five Shia Muslim pilgrims killed in southwestern Pakistan

Absolutely, no doubt about it, I was wondering why that attack was given so less coverage in US media. Give new meaning to the thoughtful line: if a tree falls in a forest, and nobody heard about it, did the tree really fall? I mean with Obama and Romney locked in a battle of silly trivialities, and Obama having announced tucking his tail and running away from Afghanistan, TSP is ruling the roost secure that there would no retaliation. Amazing how a superpower is absorbing such brazen punches from a 2-bit abomination.
Anujan wrote:

Recall 26/11? That, and the bragging thereafter was definetly a colossal strategic hit from TSP that sent a message. The main difference between TSP attacking US in Afghanistan and attacking India when it wants to with impunity is the bragging. In US's case, TSP maintains strict plausible deniability (which either the US knows about but decided that TSP is too much of a precious terrorist asset in its kitty to deal it severe retribution, or US is plagued by some form of impotency which I am not aware of), while in India's case TSP bragging is pretty brazen, "non state actors", "unresolved disputes" you name it, and you (India) try any retaliatory hanky panky and we'll nuke you. No wonder that has fetched them amank ki tamasha rewards.

This is not good news - A liberalized visa regime with India will force them to be in New Delhi for an American Visa, and they might have to stay in India for a few weeks as their application is being thoroughly vetted out. This is going to cost India additional security to keep them under constant check and India must recoup it with from the US and Pakistani visitors.

Can you say no?
Pakistani officials say they have opened an investigation into a businessman who has been accused of blasphemy after refusing to join protests over an anti-Islam video and allegedly trying to convince others also not to take part.

Police officer Munir Abbasi says that hundreds of protestors in the city of Hyderabad who rallied against the film that mocks the Prophet Muhammad demanded businessman Haji Nasrullah Khan shut his shops in solidarity.

When Khan refused, one of his tenants said his decision supported the film.

City police chief Fareed Jan said on Wednesday the protesters claim Khan insulted the Prophet.

Jan said there's no evidence to suggest this happened and said police were pressured by the mob to open the case.

Blasphemy is punishable by life in prison or death in Pakistan.

Bomb in northwest Pakistan kills 8 civilians
PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A bomb targeting a Pakistani military vehicle instead struck a passenger van on Wednesday in a city in the country’s northwest, killing at least eight civilians, authorities said.

Police official Tahir Ayub Khan said the afternoon blast on the outskirts of Peshawar wounded another 27 civilians, plus three air force officers in the targeted vehicle. Khan said the bomb was set off by remote control. The passenger van and the air force vehicle were driving through the area at the time.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, and Khan said authorities were still investigating the motive behind the attack.
