Evanjehadi "charities" are using Google adwords to raise funds for the war in Orissa......these ads appear on Indian websites and the website owners using adsense should block these urls:
The UK based barnabasfund(dot)org
Chennai based worldvision(dot)in
The latter now has a special page on Bihar floods (org/bihar) with pictures of children.....perhaps preparing for a "harvest"?

IB to keep eye on bank officers

Aug. 13: The officials of nationalised banks located in the districts close to the Indo-Bangladesh border will be under scanner of the intelligence wing in order to thwart possibilities of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) circulation through banks.
The step has been taken after a Central intelligence bureau report claimed that Bangladesh-based ISI agents are targeting bank officials posted in the bordering branches to lure them to exchange FICN with real notes.
Central intelligence officials in Kolkata said that instructions in this regard have already been sent, particularly to the officials posted in the bordering districts.
The counter-intelligence officials posted in north Bengal, Uttar Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia and North 24 Parganas have been asked to be careful, following the recent arrest of two State Bank of India (SBI) officials from the Domariyaganj branch in UP for allegedly exchanging FICN of about Rs 1.5 crores with real notes.
An intelligence official in Kolkata said, "As per plans, the agents — who are mainly circulating the money into the country through the Nepal border — are now looking forward to lure the officials of the branches located in the bordering areas."
There is an apprehension that some officials might have become involved with these agents. The Centre has decided to set up a nodal cell in all the states to deal with FICN circulation. The RBI and the economic office wings (EOW) have also stepped into action and have recommended surprise checks.
Meanwhile, the Nadia police on Wednesday recovered fake Indian currency notes (FICN) amounting to Rs 30,000 from Sailen Ghosh, a Chapra businessman. He was arrested later.

www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=3705004&c=LAN&s=TOPIndian COBRA Troops to Take on Maoist Insurgents
India for the first time is raising special forces to tackle Maoist terrorists. The Home Ministry has approved the creation of 10 battalions, about 11,000 special forces troops, to fight Maoist terrorists operating in some parts of the country.
These homeland security special forces, called Commando Battalions for Resolute Action (COBRA), will be operational in the next three years.
A senior Indian Home Ministry official said that specialized equipment worth millions of dollars - including helicopters, electronic warfare ground systems, surveillance assets and light weaponry - will be procured from home and overseas markets to equip the new battalions.
The special forces will be trained at the Indian Army's anti-terrorist training facilities, a senior Home Ministry official said.

X-post from the Indian Interests thread:
Arun_S wrote:THE HINDU-CHRISTIAN DIVIDE - B.RAMANB.RAMAN
Every Indian, who wishes to see India grow in unity, strength and prosperity, will be concerned over the implications of the emergence of a growing Hindu-Christian divide in the Indian civil society.
2. The recent shocking incidents of violence in some parts of the State of Orissa have brought home to us the extent to which the poison inthe relations between the two communities has spread. What one saw in Orissa was nothing less than a mini version of what one saw in Gujarat in 2002.
3. In Gujarat, the massacre of a group of Hindu pilgrims travelling in a railway compartment by a group of Muslim fanatics when the train had stopped at a railway station called Godhra, led to widespread retaliatory attacks on members of the Muslim community in different partsof the State. The brutal violence witnessed during these incidents committed initially by the Muslims and subsequently by the Hindus should be a matter of shame to us as a nation.
4. In Orissa, the brutal murder of a highly-respected leader of the Hindu community belonging to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) by a groupof suspected Christian elements led to widespread attacks by members of the Hindu community----most of them allegedly belonging to the VHP--- on the Christan community. The casualties in Orissa were thankfully small as compared to those in Gujarat in 2002, but the brutality witnessed on both sides----initially by alleged Christian elements and subsequently by alleged VHP members--- was no less disturbing than what one had seen in Gujarat in 2002.
5. The seeds of the Hindu-Muslim divide were initially sown by the British during the pre-1947 colonial days. It resulted in the creation ofPakistan and the subsequent violent incidents between the Hindu and Muslim communities in different parts of India. The jihadi terrorism witnessed in different parts of India since the demolition of the Babri Masjid by a group of Hindus in December,1992,marked a new phase in the continuing divide between some sections of the Hindus and the Muslims. Forunately, this mental divide remained confined to small sections of the two communities. The two communities as a whole have till now not allowed the attempts of these small sections to spread this poison further to succeed. One of the objectives of the repeated jihadi terrorist strikes is to aggravate this divide.
6. The seeds of the Hindu-Christian divide were sown much later---long after India became independent. Even in the 1950s and the 1960s,there were concerns over the objectionable activities of foreign Christian missionaries in Indian territory. These activities perceived as objectionable not only by large sections of the Hindu community, but also by the intelligence and security agencies and by highly-respected leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi consisted of attempts to indulge in large -scale conversion of underprivileged Hindus and animist tribals in Central India into Christianity with the help of large, unrestricted flow of funds from the Vatican and from Catholic and Baptist organisations in the US and the role played by foreign missionaries such as the late Rev.Michael Scot in instigating the insurgency in the North-East where many of the inhabitants in Nagaland and Mizoram are Baptists.
7. Just as the flow of money from so-called Muslim charity organisations in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other Muslim countries sought to sustain and aggravate the divide between the Muslims and the Hindus, projected as infidels, and to promote jihadi terrorism in Indian territory, the flow of money from the Vatican and Christian missionary and fundamentalist organisations in the West tended to create a mental divide between the Hindus and the Christians and promote and sustain the insurgency in our North-East.
8. But the leaders of India in the post-independence years sought to see that the concerns over the role of the foreign Christian missionaries and the massive funds at their disposal did not create unwarranted suspicions in the minds of the Hindu community against their Christian fellow-citizens. They realised that if they allowed such suspicions to appear in the relations between the two communities, they would only be playing into the hands of foreign missionary organisations, which wanted to create a mental divide. They refrained from viewing our Christian fellow-citizens as surrogates of the foreign missionary organisations.
9. This conscious attempt not to allow suspicions about foreign Christian missionary organisations create prejudices in our mind about our Christian fellow-citizens started disappearing after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led coalition came to power in Delhi in 1998. For thefirst time, there was a greater aggressiveness and less sensitivity in the interactions between the Christian organisations----foreign as well as indigenous-- and Hindu organisations such as the VHP. It would be incorrect to blame the Government of A.B.Vajpayee for this development. No Government policy directly encouraged this development. But the silence of the Government in the face of an aggressive campaign against certain aspects of the activities of Christian organisations and against certain elements of the Christian community by the VHP indirectly led to the emergence of the first signs of a mental divide between the two communities. I was myself a witness to this post-1998 aggressive anti-Christian campaign by the VHP on some occasions.
10. This aggressive campaign by the VHP led to an equally aggressive counter-campaign by some of the indigenous Christian organisations against the VHP and those associated with it, directly or indirectly. Some members of the community of Indian origin in the US---Hindus as well as Christians--- joined this campaign, with the Hindus in the US supporting the VHP and the Christians of Indian origin in the US supporting anti-VHP organisations.
11. From an anti-conversion campaign, which in my view is justified if peaceful and in accordance with law, it took on additional dimensions of a disturbing nature. One such dimension was anti-Vatican. Sonia Gandhi, who before 1998 was projected as of Italian origin and hence unsuitable to be the Prime Minister of India, was post-1998 sought to be projected as a Roman Catholic with suspected ties to the Vatican. She was projected as the source of the greater aggressiveness exhibited by the Christian organisations. There was a discernible attempt to merge the anti-Christian and the anti-Sonia campaigns.
12. This aggression and counter-aggression, rhetoric and counter-rhetoric totally lacking in a sense of balance between the VHP on the one side and some Christian organisations on the other threaten to create fresh pockets of social and religious disharmony in the already fragile Indian society. If India is to take its place as an important power in the world and as the equal, if not the better, of China, it is important for all right-thinking people----whatever be their religion or language or political background--- to come together to strongly oppose these new divisive trends in our society and nation.
13. The Hindus constitute the preponderant majority of this nation with 80 per cent of the population. India is their homeland and they have every right to protect their interests and to safeguard the essentially Hindu nature of this country. They have a right to have organisations such as the VHP to help them in doing so. At the same time, they have an important responsibility to carry out their activities in a peaceful manner in such a way as not to add to the divisions in our society. We have to find ways of making the interests of different religious groups and communities compatible with each other and not antagonistic to each other.
14. The way the VHP and the Christian organisations determined to oppose it are carrying on their activities is threatening to create more pockets of mutual antagonism than pockets of unity and harmony. This is not good for India.(3-9-08)

Ex-Armymen training Maoists: Cops
Maoists in Jharkhand are being trained in guerrilla and jungle warfare by former Army personnel, the state police claim. Police say the shocking revelation was made by a hardcore Maoist, Shankar Bhuiyan alias Sanjay Ram, who was arrested at Latehar in Jharkhan on August 28.
Bhuiyan was one of the Maoist sub-zonal commanders who led the attack on police stations at Nayagarh in Orissa in February. During a search operation at his hideout, the police stumbled upon a training manual of Maoists. The 200-page book divided into two sections contained minute details of planning and assault strategy in different terrains.
The books have graphical and pictorial depiction that would help even a layman understand how to use a particular weapon and the strategy to be adopted under different situations.
Jharkhand police spokesperson S N Pradhan said: “After going through the books and documents it can be said with certainty that experts having years of experience in military warfare are training the rebel cadre. Because no one can make such a meticulous training programme,’’ Pradhan said.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Indi ... 438266.cms
How did the cops assume that the mysterious "experts having years of experience in military warfare training the rebel cadre" must necessarily be retired but rogue Indian armymen? Why cannot these training manuals be supplied to the Maoists by agents of a foriegn intelligence agency (Goras)? This is more likely the case.
It is clear to me that American and British intelligence agents are providing strategic guidance and combat strategy to Indian Maoists, otherwise there is no way in hell the Maoists could operate in a landlocked area with such deadly force and effectiveness and use actual military-style battle planning.
It can only be the Americans, seeing the network American-funded churches have built inside the central Indian jungles, their involvement in Purulia arms drop and the way they organised resources to get Binayak Sen released.
Re: Internal Security Watch
Hey, where does it say "rogue Indian army men"? All it says is "former Army personnel", without specifying the army they used to belong to
And if quoted correctly, it is a truthful statement, for there are way too many ex-military chaps crawling all over the globe, doing compassionate stuff.....

http://www.ibnlive.com/news/gujarat-ter ... 772-3.htmlGujarat terror act: A win-win deal for Modi
The Gujarat government's latest tool to fight terror - the Gujarat Control of Organised Crime Act (GUJCOCA) is turning out to be the latest offensive launched by the NDA in its war against the UPA.
Indications are that the UPA could well be forced to concede ground on the issue. CNN-IBN has learnt that the Cabinet is likely to give its nod for placing the controversial Bill before the President.
The move comes after an order from the Gujarat High Court asked the Centre why was it dragging its feet. Sensing a political opportunity, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi is going for the kill.
“50 km away in Maharashtra, they have the means of fighting terror (MCOCA). In gujarat, i am helpless,” he said.
The problem is before the Government gives its nod to the Bill, it has to convince its new allies like the SP and old friends like Lalu and Ram Vilas Paswan, all with a keen eye on minority matters.
“All this is Advani's doing and also of the Sangh Parivar and the VHP,” said Union Rail Minister and RJD leader, Lalu Prasad.
The Centre's is in dilemma over the advice it should give the President. Returning the bill to the state Assembly for the second time will be difficult since GUJCOCA is a carbon copy of the Maharashtra and Karnataka acts.
For Narendra Modi it’s a win-win situation. If the Cabinet approves, it’s advantage Modi and if it doesn’t it is likely to be accused of going soft on terror.

Huge arms consignment recovered from Assam-Tripura border
Agartala, Sep 4 (UNI) Assam Rifles (AR) jawans recovered a huge cache of arms from the forest area along Tripura-Assam border in the northern part of the state following which police forces of both the states resumed joint counter-insurgency operations in the entire stretch.
Police said here today that acting on a tip-off, AR jawans along with Tripura and Assam police, launched search operations in Suknacherra forest near Chouribari checkgate on the Assam-Tripura border yesterday.
The security forces recovered five high-powered IEDs, one two-inch mortar, two pistols, a China-made carbine, one prismatic compass, a large quantity of live ammunition and some incriminating documents of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and Assam-based DHD(J) outfit.
Police believed that the arms were the leftover arsenals of the NLFT, which was trying to revive itself after a long period of disarray following internal dissension, and the jungles have a locational advantage as they were adjacent to the Indo-Bangladesh border.
''They used it as a dumping ground for arms and hideout of NLFT militants who cross over from Bangladesh after receiving training and procuring arms there,'' a senior police official said and informed that both the states had already stepped up patrolling along the border.

Mr.Raman has give us a frank and detailed account of the attempt to divide Hindus and Christians of the country. There are many Christians who deplore the activities of 5th columnists, who are awash with foreign funds. These outfits must be exposed and their foreign masters too,in order that the majority of the country are satisfied that action is being taken against those who wish to destabilise the nation within and without. The NDA could've done more in this regard, but erred perhaps as it did not wish to upset the US,the prime suspect for sponsoring this mischief. In the same breath, action must also be taken against those who use violence to achieve their political ends. The rule of law must prevail ,otherwise in a counter-action,to have militant "Christian" outfits competing for terror with other existing ungodly species would be a terrible act of hara-kiri by those supposedly acting in the interests of the majority.

Tomorrow starts India's battle for the Nuclear Suppliers' Group waiver for wining the 123 Agreement with the US. Never before has so big a political investment been made for clean energy security. But what good is energy security without internal stability and internal cohesiveness, especially when, god forbid, the jihadi suicide bomber is marking time in Pakistan to cross the red line
Given the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, which is becoming just that, the Maoist takeover of rural heartlands, turbulence in the North-East and terror strikes in cities averaging one every three months, it is time to demand action from this Government instead of making a virtue of India having become the oldest victim of terrorism, as if it is something to be proud of. Our tolerance of violence and casualties is amazing.
From the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is too much of an apolitical economist and too little a strategist, at least admitted that intelligence and policing capacities had to be strengthened to combat terrorism. Curiously, he did not mention the fragility of law enforcement. A former director of CBI told me that the current legal dispensation is the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. It is supine and must at least sound tough like Anti-Terrorism Act, he added.
Regrettably, nothing worthwhile is likely to happen as the Government goes into the 123 India-US civil nuclear deal mode. A task force will later than sooner come up with a tinkering job but terror attacks will not stop. Just to remind the Ministry of Home Affairs, a counter-terrorism strategy paper was presented to the Government by the Army in early-2000 and the Kargil Review Committee had recommended a federal counter-terrorism agency in 2001.
IIT, Kanpur, at the behest of the Government, came up with the blueprint of an Internal Security Centre in 2005 and twice reminded the Government about the project. But the Home Ministry merely passed it on to the agencies concerned to die a natural death. I believe the Supreme Court of India has asked the Government to set up a Central investigating agency in the interest of national security, but the idea was promptly directed to The Ministries of Home and Law where the file got lost.
Article 355 of the Constitution stipulates that the Union of India is responsible for protecting its citizens from internal disorder and external aggression. While the external challenge has been effectively met, internal threats have been grievously neglected. Terrorist attacks began in India in 1985, post-Operation Blue Star and the reprehensible carnage targeting Sikhs. The most serious terror strike was in June 1985 when the Babbar Khalsa detonated 110 transistor bombs killing 85 people in Delhi and Ghaziabad. The low-grade explosives used then were employed in the recent Ahmedabad and Bangalore attacks. The perpetrators of the 1985 terror are still on trial, so lax is law-enforcement.
The second turning point in the nurturing of terrorism was post-Babari Masjid, 1992, which was followed by the third in 2002 following the Godhra excesses. Unfortunately, instead of looking inwards and addressing the root causes of internal disorder, we have chosen to blame it entirely on external factors like the ISI, Pakistan and Bangladesh, rather than also investigate the socio-political, economic and security-related deficiencies within. We have kept raising the numbers of police forces without empowering them with superior intelligence, especially human intelligence, policing and investigation skills, coupled with stringent anti-terrorism laws leading to quick trials and convictions.
The UN Committee on Counter-terrorism in 2007 faulted India for weak anti-terrorism laws. Anti-terrorism laws in the UK and the US are to be read to be believed. These countries are no less committed to the rule of law, democracy and human rights than India is. But they take very seriously the task of protecting their citizens at home and abroad.
In Punjab, the Khalistan movement was defeated despite cross-border linkages by competent and coordinated counter-terrorism cells which were created by the Home Ministry in consultation with the State. Actionable intelligence, which is the Ram Baan for a counter-terrorism agency, was the key to success in Punjab. Mizoram and Tripura are two other success stories, perhaps even Andhra Pradesh, which is combatting Maoism with Greyhound teams.
On terrorist and terrorist networks, whether we have a comprehensive data base, there is some valid doubt judging from the entirely blank record of investigations after terrorist strikes barring the SIMI connections post-Ahmedabad being revealed now. Usually, and at best, only sketches of culprits are revealed but precious little is done to follow the trail. No wonder Pakistan demands evidence.
With India's IT prowess we should have a first rate terrorist network data bank connected to major counter-terrorism cells across the country. Virtually all police stations barring a few still operate manually with archived registers and leaking dot pens. Let's face it, we are confronted with severe home-grown terrorism. Till recently we used to pride ourselves over no Muslim linkages with international terrorism. That is no longer the case. National Security Adviser MK Narayanan admitted recently that 800 terror modules have been busted in the country. He also said though there is a great deal of external support, one is looking for the mastermind within the country.
It is high time we stopped the debate over our helplessness to combat terrorism and got down to an action plan to do it. The first item of any Government's future CMP must be adherence to Article 355 of the Constitution. A deterrent counter-terrorism policy and strategy has to be defined in clear terms. Terrorism, according to a Supreme Court judgement, is not a law and order issue and, therefore, not a State but a Central subject. Ideally, an Internal Security Centre should be established in the PMO but in the interim, a federal counter-terrorism agency will do. We did, under Congress Governments in the past, have a Minister for Internal Security.
Stringent anti-terror laws with safeguards should replace the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, buttressed by fast track courts. Strengthening intelligence and investigation and promulgating police reforms ordered by the Supreme Court, including fine-tuning the terrorist database for network-centric counter-terrorism operations, are a part of the checklist.
The Prime Minister must show the same political resolve in stamping out terrorism as he has in risking his Government over the nuclear deal.

With myopic leaders like these, no wonder the common man should virtually sweat about his safety every time he steps out onto the street...Mayawati withdraws controversial UPCOCA
Sharat Pradhan in Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Wednesday decided to withdraw the state's plea for the enactment of the Uttar Pradesh Control of Organised Crime Act.
The chief minister shot off a letter to the Union Home ministry, seeking immediate withdrawal of the UPCOCA. The state government had been waiting for the Presidential assent for the bill.
At a press conference at her residence, Mayawati said, "The special law was sought to contain the large scale lawlessness perpetuated by the organised crime mafia, under the misrule of my predecessor Mulayam Singh Yadav [Images]."
She said, "What I inherited from Mulayam Singh Yadav in May 2007 was a regime rampant with organised crime, under the blatant patronage of the political masters of the day. Therefore the need was felt for a special law to bring them under check."
"Since such a law was already in existence in Maharashtra, we felt that it would be effective in Uttar Pradesh as well. But the Home ministry continued to put hurdles in our path and did not allow the bill to be cleared," she said.
Mayawati added, "In our bid to control the prevailing lawlessness and terror in the state , we got down to instilling the fear of law in the minds of the otherwise unbridled outlaws."
The rise and rise of the BSP
"We succeeded in doing so by ensuring strict enforcement of the existing laws , which sent many outlaws on the run, and as of today we do not even need any special law to deal with it," she claimed.
Notwithstanding her proclamations, it was quite evident that the move was prompted due to the persistent opposition to the new law by the minority community. With the general elections not too far away, the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party did not want to take any steps which might alienate the community.
However, Mayawati slammed the 'Centre's double-standards' for her decision.
Flaying the United Progressive Alliance government, she said, "While the Centre was of the view that such a law was not needed , I fail to understand why it had failed to withdraw the law in Maharastra, which took the lead in introducing such an anti-terror law."
She even urged the central government to repeal the legislation in Maharashtra.![]()

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show ... india.htmlFive police killed in Maoist attack in central India
At least five policemen were killed and six injured Thursday in a landmine blast triggered by suspected Maoist rebels in the central Indian state Chhattisgarh, a news report said. The incident occurred in a hamlet in the southern Surguja district when a joint police team was conducting a search operation.
Police sources told the IANS news agency that three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and two state police died in the blast, 520 kilometres south of state capital Raipur.
Maoist militants, who claim to be fighting for the rural poor, operate in 13 of India's 29 states. They usually target police and government installations.
On August 29, Maoists blew up a jeep in another landmine blast in the state, killing six CRPF men, including an officer.
According to independent estimates, more than 400 people, including civilians, policemen and rebels, have been killed in Maoist violence in India since the beginning of the year.
Indian Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta recently announced that six jungle warfare and counter-insurgency schools would be set up to train security personnel to combat the rebels.

Yep.. many believe that Mayavathi, Lalloo, Mulayam represent the Backward casts of India, so rightfully deserve all the praise...sum wrote: Ok...so much for the iron lady(of whom many BRFites are admirers):

What they don’t understand is that these leaders are worse than the EJs and Jehadi's themselves. A jehadi causes damage in a specific point of time and location.. these guys rotten the system inside out thru these minority appeasing policies…

New details have emerged of e-mail intercepts of SIMI members from back in 2001 with Chicago based Indian Muslim group CCIM.
Chicago’s Indian Muslim Community is interesting for a variety reasons, not the least of which is the fact that Tarun Tejpal of Tehelka was feted in Chicago on June 1st of 2008 for the Moulana Muhammad Ali Johar Award in Journalism by the IMC-USA, another Chicago based Indian Muslim group formed in 2002 in the wake of the Gujarat Riots.
Notice the dates here, Ajit Sahi of Tehelka started his quest to bat for SIMI 3 months back exactly around the same time Tarun Tejpal was being feted by a Chicago based Indian Muslim group
What a coincidence that Chicago based Muslims groups should have links with SIMI as far back as 2001 and that Tarun Tejpal should be feted by another Chicago based Muslim group around the same time his Tehelka starts digging up on how to bat for SIMI ?
The story gets even more interesting when you consider that IMC-USA was also the main organization behind the Coalition against Genocide that has been lobbying the U.S. State Department against granting a visa for Narendra Modi.
But no mention of CCIM is found anywhere on the Coalition against Genocide’s website.
But then we find this interesting letter to the editor (see page 22) InFocus a Southern California Islamic Newsletter in its April 2005 issue (the year Modi’s visa was first rejected in March 2005).
On behalf of the Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims in North America (CCIM) I would like to congratulate you for working very hard to start InFocus. We have been hearing about your paper via various news items. I had the chance to see your March 2005 issue. May Allah bless you. I also saw in your March issue the news item about the Anti-Muslim tyrant from India, Narendar Modi. I thought that I should send you a copy of the letter we sent to our Secreatry of State.Very sincerely yours, Mohammad Yacoob Former National Chairman, CCIM Currently Chairman, CCIM Education Committee [Letter enclosed]
[Editor’s Note: We thank you for your organization’s efforts in this case. Because of advocacy advocacy on behalf of organizations such as CAIR and your group, and many others, we are pleased to include a news item in this issue that Modi’s visa was rejected.]

That led to the formation of separate organizations of Indian Muslim expatriates. Today four such organizations exist in US. They are: 1. Washington DC: The Association of Indian Muslims of America. 2. Chicago: Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims. 3. San Francisco: Indian Muslim Relief Committee. 4. Detroit: American Federation of Muslims from India. Through these organizations, Indian Muslims in US are trying to help their Qaum back home, by supporting programs for the improvement of education among the youth, provide financial relief in the event of natural disasters and anti-Muslim riots and do public relations work to draw attention to instances of injustice to their community in India. Alumni of the Aligarh Muslim University have established fairly successful Alumni Associations in Washington DC, New York, Chicago, San Francisco Atlanta and Detroit. Generally, every year in October, they organize annual get-togethers and Mushairas to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the university.

NGOs, Activists & Foreign Funds: Anti-Nation Industry" PDF Print E-mail
VICHARAMALA no.105
houghts on issues of current interest, including instances of some double standards of our public figures, especially in the construction of Hindustani identity (all those Macaulayan myths, and the hypocrisy that is Nehruvian secularism) - Krishen Kak
Vigil Public Opinion Forum, Chennai, whose website hosts Vicharamala, just published "NGOs, Activists & Foreign Funds: Anti-Nation Industry", that I had the privilege of co-editing with Vigil's joint secretary, Radha Rajan.
The book is a blistering attack of some of our leading NGOs and activists and documents their treasonous agenda for our country, listing in convincing detail their foreign sponsorships, donors and funds. The foreign focus is on the USA and Muslim and Christian organizations based there, that promote and finance Nehruvian secularism in Hindustan through their Indian stooges, of whom the book identifies Harsh Mander as representative.
---
The Students Islamic Movement of India - SIMI is a jihadi enterprise that, notwithstanding the approval of its ban by the Supreme Court of India, continues to enjoy the sympathy of our Nehruvian-secular government (V'mala 104).
Yet even this government is sometimes forced to acknowledge SIMI's seditious agenda. As, for example, it does in a deposition before the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal ("SIMI funding: Alms to arms",
--
The deposition identifies some of SIMI's foreign "moral and financial" sponsors, including - and this is one of direct interest to us here - the America-based Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims. (Note that, unlike the America-based hate-sponsored campaign against the IDRF - Vigil, ch.4 - there hasn't been even the whisper of a campaign - in America or Hindustan - against the jihadi "alms to arms" sponsorship accepted by the UPA government itself.)
Now scroll about halfway down http://www.mcrg.ac.in/rw%20files/Rw12.doc (Refugee Watch Issue No. 12, December 2000) to the section titled "The Americas" that reports on the American Federation of Muslims from India (AFMI). Refugee Watch goes on to say that "other organizations that have focused on contesting Hindutva and funding relief and legal aid to Muslims arrested in the aftermath of riots of 1992-3 ("about 80%" of the "65,000 TADA detenus" were Muslims) and in general campaigned for the human rights of Indian Muslims include the Indian Muslim Relief Committee of the Islamic Society of North America (IMRC), the Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims in the U.S. and Canada (CCIM), and the Association of Indian Muslims of America (AIM)."***
In other words, AFMI, IMRC, AIM and CCIM have professional linkages.
The UPA government itself links CCIM to SIMI. Now check out the list on p.139 of the Vigil book.
AFMI and IMRC have links to Harsh Mander.
Follow up with p.162 of the Vigil book that lists the America-based so-called Coalition Against Genocide - CAG. In it feature AFMI, AIM and IMRC.
Continue to follow through to p.107 of the Vigil book for "at least one self-proclaimed SIMI founder tied to senior IMC leadership". IMC is the America-based Indian Muslim Council. It features in the CAG list and in the Vigil listing of sponsors of both Harsh Mander and Aruna Roy. IMC is connected to the jihadi Lashkar-e-Toiba, and the L-e-T is connected to Pakistan's ISI.
Now, Refugee Watch, in its same section, goes on to report that "AIM intends to forge links with progressive Indians and has been working on establishing links with Pakistani Americans."
Both Harsh Mander and Aruna Roy, as eminent Nehruvian secularists, are certainly "progressive Indians".
So what do we have here? An extended and devious web of "moral and financial" linkages, that (by the UPA goverment's own admission) includes SIMI.
Seems far-fetched? Read the Vigil book. Still seems far-fetched? Try this for a clincher:
SIMI activists were involved in the Godhra massacre of Hindus (http://midday.chalomumbai.com/05-06-200 ... ed.txt.htm). ActionAid, technically a British "charity", involved itself in the legal defence of the Godhra accused - and only of the Godhra accused, all Muslim. Who led this defence initiative? ActionAid's India country director. Who was this country director? Mr Harsh Mander (http://esamskriti.com/html/inside.asp?c ... hindustan1). Yes, the same Harsh Mander who is a loud supporter of Pakistan (Vigil, p.145).

Take the National Foundation for India - NFI (http://www.nfi.org.in/ , data from its website as on Aug 22, 2006) that, set up in 1992, calls itself "a non-profit making charitable trust". Its first listed aim is "to raise funds both nationally and internationally...". Donor information is only till 2002-03, and donation amounts only for 2002-2003. We are now in 2006. Its international donors include the Rockefeller Foundation (amount not stated) and the Ford Foundation (USD 100,000); its national donors include a number of government departments It has a collaboration since 2002 with ASHA - Stanford (donor amount not stated), and had "partnered" the post-Godhra Aman Charitable Trust, Delhi, giving it Rs 3,30,000 in 2002-03 to keep going till, in expectation of FCRA clearance, the latter could receive USD 100,000 from the Ford Foundation. The Aman Charitable Trust, notwithstanding all that money, does not appear to have its own website, though the NFI tells us it "was set up by a group of eminent peace activists...with the objective to work proactively towards conflict resolution through research, workshops and advocacy". The Aman (Public?) Charitable Trust also received USD 6,750 from the America-based Association for India's Development (AID) in the category "Peace Efforts" (http://www.aidprojects.org/ngos-view-1. ... ogin=guest). It is not an unreasonable assumption, given the Aman name (Vigil, p.136), the America-connection, so much American money and so much peace activism, that one of the "peace activists" involved is Harsh Mander. The Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, AID, ASHA, Harsh Mander, all illuminate the pages of the Vigil book.
--
So where does our prime minister (the de jure one, remember) link into all this?
Note the trustees of the National Foundation for India, as listed on the NFI website, Aug 22, 2006:

Dr M S Swaminathan
Mr N Ram
Dr Manmohan Singh MP
Ms Sayeda Hamid

Mr P Sainath

***Note how Refugee Watch claims that 52,000 were Muslims of the 65,000 TADA detenus it insinuates for "the aftermath of riots of 1992-93". Which riots?? Justice Sujata Manohar, with Justice AM Ahmadi, in a March 1996 Supreme Court decision, noted only 6,000 TADA detenus in all ( www.hri.ca/partners/sahrdc/india/fulltext.shtml ). The Vigil book has a number of examples of similar mathematical conjuration by Nehruvian secularists.
It's like money-laundering - one link leads to another leads to a third leads to a fourth, and so on, till the connection between the first link and the last is no longer apparent. But the connection is still very much there, and now there is a recognised link between money-laundering and jihad

Will our Nehruvian-secular government reveal from where have been, over the last 10 years, the primary sources of income of its NAC member Dr AK Shiva Kumar?****
Think about the following link: "From 1986 through 2004, the MacArthur Foundation provided 170 grants totaling more than $28 million to people and organizations in India" (http://www.macfound.org.in/newpage3.htm). Guess who heads this American foundation's India office. Poonam Muttreja. Poonam who? AK Shiva Kumar's wife! Yup, the same Shiva Kumar with inside access to national data. Cops had SIMI email intercepts in 2001

Poor Best
Ahmedabad, August 23: The Surat SIMI conference, it is believed, was organized by an assistant professor in Jodhpur University, Abdulhai Abdulsattar Silavat, with two others whose names are still not known.
The prime objective of this meet was the recruitment of Muslim youth after the ban was imposed in September 2001.
During the course of the investigation, the police intercepted emails by a SIMI activist from Ahmedabad, Suhel Patel. Suhel was a US-born Indian from Paguthan village in Bharuch district of south Gujarat, living in Ahmedabad for nearly 15 years.
The email messages revealed vital information on the financial support being provided by two US-based organizations: the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Chicago-based Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims (CCIM).
One of the messages dated December 11, 2001 contained a Rs 1.24-crore proposal forwarded by Suhel to one mehman (guest) for sustaining the SIMI movement following its ban in September that year. The break-up of the fund was thus - Rs 48 lakh for the families of the arrested SIMI leaders and Rs 25 lakh as legal aid for fighting their court cases.
Suhel had asked for Rs 12 lakh for offering scholarships for thoseworking for the "cause" and another Rs 7 lakh to launch a magazine on "Muslim brotherhood and making Muslims aware of the fast-changing situation in the Islamic world".
In his confession to then Surat joint commissioner of police Ashish Bhatia, Suhel confessed to drawing up the proposal following a directive from the then SIMI President Shahid Badr Falahi.
Suhel revealed that one of his brothers-in-law Yasin Ghulamrasool Patel, who owned a printing press in Ahmedabad had travelled to Chicago for collecting funds for SIMI. Suhel was one of the many recruited by Badr to amass funds for SIMI.
Other e-mail messages in Suhel's account show how money is being transferred from the US to India. Rafik, his Chicago-based brother-in-law, has written to him about an ISNA conference in the US attended by delegates from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Singapore and India on August 31, 2000.
Rafik's email to one Chicago-based Professor Munnawar Hussein "of the Jamaat" explains the new operations for SIMI which was to target universities, unions, women, farmers and local field workers and create a political wing of SIMI. Rafik had also advised Patel to delete every message as soon as it has been read.

Chicago Muslims Protest Gujarat Killings
By Ayub Khan, IOL Chicago correspondent
CHICAGO, March 11 (IslamOnline) - Demanding the imposition of President's rule in India, and the dismissal of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani, Muslims and peace activists held a hastily organized demonstration on busy Devon Street in Chicago over the weekend in protest against the killings of thousands of Muslims in Gujarat, India.
Despite chilly weather conditions, hundreds of protestors marched from Warren Park to California Avenue chanting slogans like: "Indian Hitler Advani," "Down, Down BJP," "Down Down VHP," and "Stop Killing Innocent Muslims."
Before the march, Amjad Hashmi of the Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims (CCIM) said massacres of innocent Muslims simply cannot be tolerated. He called on the Indian government to immediately dismiss Modi’s government in the state of Gujurat, as it did nothing to stop the killings.
An individual named "Andy" from the Chicago Coalition Against War and Racism denounced the tactics of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for inciting religious hatred in India, saying it was ironic that India, a partner in the “war against terrorism”, is itself promoting terrorism.
Community leader Rashid Ali Khan said that, according to credible reports, the train burning incident in Godhra was provoked by Ram Sevaks ("devotees of Ram") returning from Ayodhya, saying that the band of extremists looted the shop of an elderly Muslim man and attacked him.
When his young daughter intervened, she was kidnapped and taken into the train. He said that as much as the act of the train burning was condemnable, it could not be used to justify the massacre of thousands of innocent Muslims.
Syed Shakeel Ahmed Kazmi, in an emotional speech stating that Muslims would rebuild the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya at any cost, warned extremist Hindu forces that there are limits to Muslim patience and that no more killings of innocent Muslims and destruction of Mosques would be tolerated.
Hindu extremists demolished the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992. Currently, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP - World Hindu Council) are actively seeking to build a Hindu Temple on the site.
During the march, flyers were also distributed urging consumers to boycott those stores, whose owners are supporters of the BJP, VHP, Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) and other extremist Hindu parties.
Protestors dispersed peacefully after a du’ah (prayer asking for blessing) was made for Muslims, whose lives and properties had been destroyed by Hindu fanatics.
Some demonstration participants complained that had there been earlier announcements, more people would have joined the protest. They gave the example of the massive protest march in 1993 on Devon Avenue in which more than 2,000 people participated to protest the destruction of Babri Masjid by Hindu zealots.

From above post:
So, i guess it should be valid both ways!!!
I would have agreed with that but after any bomb blast, i find tons of letters(from Muslim readers) to editors of different papers where they indirectly suggest that bomb blasts are a "retaliation" for some riots in some time...When his young daughter intervened, she was kidnapped and taken into the train. He said that as much as the act of the train burning was condemnable, it could not be used to justify the massacre of thousands of innocent Muslims.

Prohibitory orders clamped in the city; security tightened in sensitive areas
Ganesha idols not damaged
Bandh was observed in Raichur city
Agitated lot: Activists of pro-Hindu organisations staging a protest at Teen Khandil Circle in Raichur on Thursday.
Raichur: The police resorted to lathi-charge at four places in Raichur city on Thursday when activists of pro-Hindu organisations turned violent during a protest against the burning of “shamianas,” where Ganesha idols were kept, at five places in the city on Wednesday night.
At least six persons were injured when a group armed with lathis and iron rods allegedly attacked people on Lingsugur Road, Arab Mohalla and Tipu Sultan Road.
The miscreants also attacked buses and other vehicles on these roads and near the city bus stand, damaging four motorcycles and six buses of the NEKRTC. They also set fire to a motorcycle and a bicycle.
In one case, the miscreants attacked Vijayakumar near the tehsil office, damaged his motorcycle and snatched his two-tola gold chain.
The district administration has clamped prohibitory orders in the city for an indefinite period. Security has been tightened in all sensitive areas in the city and also at places where Ganesha idols have been kept.
Tension gripped the city on Thursday morning after news of the burning of shamianas spread.
The shamianas were set on fire at Super Market Area, Jain Mandir Chowk, Harihar Road, the City Talkies Road and Station Road in the city. However, the idols were not damaged.
Thousands of activists of Bajrang Dal, Kendriya Gajanana Utsav Committee, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Hindu Rakshana Samiti staged dharna at several places in the city. They gave a call for a 48-hour bandh in Raichur city and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Following this, a total bandh was observed in the city. Commercial establishments, pharmacies, banks, and schools and colleges remained closed. The NEKRTC withdrew its services.About 5,000 activists, led by N. Shankarappa MLC and secretary of the Kendriya Gajanan Utsav; Raghotham Rao, president of the district unit of the Hindu Rakshana Samiti; A. Mareppa, president, and Dodda Malleshappa, vice-president of the Raichur City Municipal Council; A. Papa Reddy, former MLA, and Trivikram Joshi, member of the State Executive Committee of the BJP, and leaders of the VHP took out a huge procession and gathered at Teen Khadil Circle.
The leaders alleged that some groups of miscreants were trying to damage the secular fabric in the city. They demanded that the district administration order a detailed investigation and arrest the culprits.
Later, the protesters divided themselves into several groups and went round the city when news of the attack on the public spread. The police lathi-charged groups of people when they indulged in throwing stones at the shops of a particular community on Kirana Bazaar and tried to set ablaze vehicles parked in front of the shops.
The leaders demanded deployment of police in the troubled localities to protect innocent people.
They also spoke to V.S. Acharya, Home Minister, on telephone.
Deputy Commissioner Adoni Syed Saleem and Superintendent of Police B.A. Padmanayana held discussions with the leaders and appealed to them to cooperate with the district administration in maintaining peace in the city.
Condemned
Gulbarga Special Correspondent reports
The Gulbarga Ganesh Maha Mandal has condemned the torching of shamianas in Raichur.
In a statement here, president of the mandal, Baburao Jahagirdar, and general secretary Vajrakumar Kiwade said that the police should arrest the culprits and ensure that peace and communal harmony prevailed during the Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations.

Police restore normality after stone-throwing incident
Staff Correspondent
A youth was attacked during a procession leading to tension for some time
Commissioner holds peace meeting of community leaders
Additional forces deployed; the situation is peaceful now
PEACE-KEEPING: Police Commissioner N. Shivakumar and policemen rushing in to bring the situation under control in Hubli following a stone-throwing incident during a Ganeshotsava procession.
HUBLI: In what is being termed as a case of wreaking vengeance, a few youth attacked a youth of another community in Hubli on Wednesday during the installation of a Ganesh idol, which, in turn, led to stone-throwing and communal tension for some time.
However, timely intervention by the police resulted in bringing the situation under control and within a few hours normality was restored.
On Thursday, Police Commissioner N. Shivakumar held a peace meeting of leaders of both the communities and office-bearers of the mahamandals to prevent the recurrence of violence.
Five persons have been arrested by the police in connection with Wednesday’s incident. Mr. Shivakumar gave the names of the arrested as Gopiraj Jadhav, Srikant Jadhav, Babusa Hebsur, Bombay Raja and Madhu Dodmani.
The Commissioner said that the incident occurred around 2.15 p.m. on Wednesday when the Ganesh Mandal of Settlement Area in Hubli was bringing the Ganesh idol in a procession for installation.
“Scientist” Manja of the Settlement Area, who was part of the procession, noticed Syed Ahmed, against whom he had a personal score to settle, having a cup of tea at a petty shop on Station Road. On seeing him, Manja, along with his friends, attacked Syed.
Syed, who fled the place, returned with a group of his community members, some of whom threw stones at the procession. The police intervened immediately, dispersed the troublemakers allowing the procession to move to its destination without any trouble, the Police Commissioner explained.
Rumours
However, the incident gave work to the rumour mills and soon members of Hindu organisations gathered at Mangalwarpet and those of the Muslim community at Shaw Bazaar.
Meanwhile, an autorickshaw driver was beaten by a mob at Mangalwarpet and he rushed to Shaw Bazaar. Angered by it, a part of the mob rushed to the nearby city bus station and started throwing stones there damaging eight buses, an autorickshaw and a car.
The police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, and by evening normality was restored. However, because of the incident, not many were seen in the market places and since Wednesday was holiday for the Hubli market, most of the shops remained closed in the Durgadabail area.
Mr. Shivakumar clarified that there was no case of stone-throwing at Tipu Nagar on Wednesday.
“Two youths, who were part of a procession, were attacked following an altercation over playing loud music. They were treated as outpatients at KIMS. We have registered a case,” he said.
He said that in the wake of the incident additional police forces from adjacent districts had been deployed.
He clarified that the situation was peaceful and there was no need for clamping prohibitory orders.
Protest
Meanwhile, on Thursday there were two protests, one in the Settlement Area and another at the Town Police Station, against the arrest of five persons in connection with Wednesday’s violence.
While members of a Ganesh mandal staged a protest keeping a Ganesh idol on the road, members of a few Hindu organisations staged a protest at Town Police Station.

CBI identifies kingpins of fake currency, foreign bank draft dealers
Agartala | Jumat, Sep 5 2008
The CBI has identified one Kamal Hussen of Comilla district in Bangladesh and his 14 other associates as kingpin of fake currency racket in Tripura while deciding to seek help from the Interpol for his arrest.
Police here today said besides Hussen, the CBI confirmed that Sahid Mian alias Bhuttu, resident of Durgapur village along Tripura-Bangladesh border in Sonamura, was involved in the racket of fake foreign bank drafts and had encashed about Rs three crore from different banks of Tripura in the past two years.
''The CBI has already interrogated the bank officials and a few of the accused and asked them not to leave the state while instructing the state police to monitor their movements,'' a senior police official said.
A three-member CBI team, led by inspector Sanjoy Sen, arrived here on September 3 following fresh report of detection of fake foreign bank drafts in two different banks in North Tripura last week.
The cases of fake bank draft deals were handed over to CBI in 2006 when Rs 2.8 crore had been drawn against 561 fake drafts of various foreign banks from three nationalised banks of Tripura.
Police said as many as 59 people were identified in the fake foreign bank draft deals and 58 people had already been arrested.
''After recent arrest of two more people from Indo-Bangladesh bordering villages for depositing two fake drafts issued by Alradhi Bank of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in two different banks, CBI officials came here and launched investigation,'' police officials said, adding that the main miscreants procuring and fake drafts and fake currency were identified.
East Agartala Police recovered foreign money comprising currencies of Indonesia, Oman and Bangladesh from the house of one Shanka Roy in Jogendranagar area of the city last night but could not arrest anybody.

This claim of "Muslim tea vendor's daughter was dragged inside the bogey by kar sevaks" is a hoax, on the lines of "all Jews working in the world trade towers were absent on 9/11." The deciet (Taqiah) of Islamic propagandists never ceases to amaze me. These people are living under the spell of mass hallucinations.saying that the band of extremists looted the shop of an elderly Muslim man and attacked him.
When his young daughter intervened, she was kidnapped and taken into the train. He said that as much as the act of the train burning was condemnable, it could not be used to justify the massacre of thousands of innocent Muslims
This Muslim tea vendor does not exist. This canard was spread by an email that originated from Saudi Arabia a week after the incident. There are many holes in the story. Firstly, no shopkeeper knows about this tea vendor at Godhra station. The man just cannot be found anywhere to verify the story.
Secondly, the Kar Sevaks were travelling with their families. (That is why so many women and children died in the bogey fire.) It is unthinkable they would try to rape a girl in front of their wives and children. This Muslim vendor is as real as the mythical lady whose womb was ripped open and foetus thrown into fire. Muslim propagandists use fabrications as standard strategy against the kaffirs. These lies help the Ummah go into denial after every blood-chilling incident perpetrated by the flag bearers of the faith.

Yes, another myth from the Muslim-apologist mythmaking machine is that ' all Kar-sevaks were unruly, undisciplined, shouting and were drunk when the train arrived'.sanjaychoudhry wrote:

If one looks at the list of S6 passengers, given below, one can clearly see through this myth of how all ' all Kar-sevaks were unruly, undisciplined, shouting and were drunk when the train arrived'.
Indeed, Pooja, Govind , Archana, Ruby were 'unruly kar sevaks'. The only problem is that they were 12 years of age. According to the same mythmaking machine, somehow, the burning was justified, because of the 'unruly kar-sevaks' and the englieesh sekoolar intelligentsia had repeated the same at that time .

Good find Ajaykk.
So only 46 passengers were travelling in the ill-fated bogie. Out of these 16 were women, four were men over 60 years of age and four were children below 15 years. This means well over half the passengers were women, old men and children.
Is this the "murderous and unruly crowd of Kar Sewaks" that tried to rape a Muslim girl by dragging her inside the bogey?? Is there any limit to the deciet and deception of Islamic propagandists? Shame on these sadist secularists of India (Rajdeep Sardesai, Pranoy Roy, Vineet jain, Shobana Bhartiya and their ilk) for hiding this essential information from the people of India. The day the Hindu rage boils over, these five-star media owners will be whipped on the streets and be cured of all their cunning, western airs and fake accents.

G Subramaniam and Sanjay Choudhry, i wish to query about the ngos going about knocking around for flood relief operations in Bihar. The only problem is too many have links to evangelicals or are their covert supporters. Such times of destruction are another round of fund-raisers for such aid-ful types.
Any one you know of which has a good spread in and around the flood-affected state and is not related to the mischief-mongers? Would be thankful for a list of these.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Tehelka
Dr Krishan Kumar, the young District Magistrate of Kandhamal, thinks it’s actually about jobs, land, and only then religion. Kumar has studied medicine (hence the Dr prefix), and was given overnight charge of Kandhamal when the Hindu militants began attacking the Christians.
Kumar works out of a suite in the Circuit House at Phulbani, the district headquarters of Kandhamal. He has gone two days without sleep during the crisis. After Saraswati’s murder, he was told of the killing of a pastor in Raikia, an area in Kandhamal where the Christians outnumber the Hindus. He drove with a full company of the Rapid Action Force and a contingent of the Orissa State Disaster Management Agency. “It took me 11 hours for a journey that normally takes two hours. There were so many trees cut and laid across the road,” Kumar says.
He explains why he thinks jobs are the first cause of war in Kandhamal. He says his administration has 1,000 cases of fake caste certificates to investigate. Apparently, many non-tribals, which in Kandhamal usually mean the dalits, have submitted fake certificates showing them as members of the Kandha tribe.
The certificates enable government employment in the reserved quota. This is possible because the law enables job reservation for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) even though they have converted to Christianity, while the Scheduled Castes (SC) are deprived of this quota if they convert to Christianity or another religion. This is a principal reason why the Dalit Christians are seeking reservations as well.
Government jobs are precious in Kandhamal, since there are barely any private outlets offering employment. So, the STs seethe with resentment against the SCs over jobs. Often, they fight. Since the STs are Hindus and the SCs form the bulk of the Christians, the battles can easily take a religious turn.
Then, there is land. “The tribals have been around forever. They are the original dwellers here. They never had to prove that they owned the land. I mean, why should they? In the early 1900s, the tribal land opened up. Pattas, a certificate indicating ownership of land, began to be given out. The tribes have a complex social structure. Within themselves, they had given land to neighbours for various reasons. When they had to prove ownership of land, they couldn’t. Others came in and the tribals couldn’t integrate with the market economy,” says Kumar. Loss of land could, therefore, be a cause for the fighting between the STs, who are Hindus, and the SCs, who are Christian.
A new dimension emerged in November 2007 when the Orissa Government said both the dalits and the tribals were part of one family, the Kui Samaj. Kui is the dialect spoken in Kandhamal, and the government intended to bring the dalits and the tribals on a common platform using language as glue. More importantly, it intended to give dalits job reservation and other social advantages that the tribes were given, even if they had converted to Christianity. The tribals objected strongly.
Into this mix enters religion. “Nobody fights over spirituality,” says Kumar. The war is over theology and the power that comes with organised religion.

Goverdhan and his family converted to Christianity. They were given a Bible, and told that Jesus is the only God who gave his life for others. After six months, they were baptised. Narmada says Goverdhan was paid Rs 800 the first month, and Rs 2,000 for six months afterward. Stories like those of Goverdhan and Narmada have helped the Church to spread.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Subramaniam, nice post.It also echoes an earlier post of mine, that religion and ideology were being used/misused in a battle predominantly for land and perks. All across the country, land has suddenly become as valuable as gold, and true stories abound of farmers whose worthless fields ,now acquired by developers for SEZs ,have become crorepathis in an instant. The opening up of tribal land for mining has added another combustible element to the tinderbox.Outlook in its latest issue has the GOI claiming that there is "no money" for education! This absurd statement when billions were waived for farmer's loans (rich farmers benefited most) and billions more being earmarked for nuclear deals.A fraction of this would help the underpriviliged to benefit from being educated and give them the opportunity of a better life, through better jobs.So what is the fate of these poor unfortunates? One one side are some evangelicals, who promise them a better lifestyle if they convert and at the other end of the spectrum are the Naxalites/Maoists offering them revolution through the bullet instead of the ballot.

Even for a second if we were to believe the sekoolar media and sekoolar commission's authenticity, the statement given by the women was this:
Now, even this testimony is under cloud as having tutored . But even in this testimony , the girl alleges that the 'man who was dragging let her go'. And she did not see him.In the statements recorded at Vadodara police station, Jaitunbibi Shaikh and her two daughters Sophiya and Saheda recalled that they were waiting for the train as they were to board it. . Sophiya alleged that 'unruly kar-sevaks' tried to drag her towards one of the coaches of the train and at this time her mother, Jaitunbibi, began to scream for help and the man who was dragging let her go. They were asked to lodge a complaint at the police station much after the incident. But they declined as they said that they did not see the person who tried dragging Sophiya and hence would not be able to recognise him.
Still she puts the blame on 'unruly kar-sevaks' !
Even the epi-tomb of truth, teesta's magazine reports - March-April 2002
Clearly, there is no 'tea vendor who's daughter was r@ped and hence the muslims attacked the sevaks' in the whole scene. It is a myth making product designed to malign the 'unruly kar-sevaks' and give an notion that they somehow deserved it.When this reporter spoke to Sophiya’s kin in Godhra, where she had come with her family for Id, she confirmed that Sophia did not get dragged into the train.

In yesterday’s post we traced the many links that converged into Chicago’s so called Indian Muslim Community.
But how Indian is this Muslim Community ?
Offstumped has obtained the Tax Exempt Records of IMC-USA maintained by the U.S. Government and they reveal something interesting. The organization’s public face maybe Dr. Hyder Khan of Minneapolis who has been at the forefront of the Coalition against Genocide but the tax records list a less known name as the person in-charge based in Chicago - Syed Azmatullah Quadri.
Now Syed Azmatullah Quadri is better known and associated with another U.S. based Muslim group called Imannet. It is funny that Mr. Quadri’s name is never mentioned directly associated with IMC-USA in any of the media releases despite his name being on the Tax Records.
So what exactly does Imannet do that IMC-USA ostensibly doesnt ?
Here is a sampling from 2002.
The killers of Gandhi now rule India and openly plan to ethnically
cleanse India of Muslims and Christians. They also want to annex Pakistan,
Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangla Desh, Mynamar (Burma) & Sri Lanka
and they possess nuclear weapons. They have treated the Dalits (Black
Indians) as sub-human un-touchables for 5000 years.
Thats not hyperbole but an actual solicitation for a fundraiser in New Jersey that lists Mr. Quadri’s well known colleague Mr. Ubaid as a speaker.
Thats who Tarun Tejpal, Tehelka, Teesta Setalvad are associating with……

Panel: stop using brain mapping as an investigative tool and evidence
Raghava M.
Says several factors come in the way of a dependable and conclusive outcome
Factors such as temperature, heart rate left out
The technique lacks established error rates
BANGALORE: An expert committee studying the efficacy of brain mapping criminal suspects has concluded that it is unscientific and should be discontinued as an investigative tool and as evidence in courts.
The six-member committee headed by National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Director D. Nagaraj said there was a need to thoroughly examine the procedure and bring it to established standards.
In its findings, the committee said there were several factors that came in the way of a dependable and conclusive outcome.
For instance, body temperature, heart rate and menstrual cycle, induced factors such as exercise, fatigue, drugs and alcohol and constitutional factors such as age, intelligence, gender and personality of the individual all played a role which needed to be taken into account, something the existing method does not.
For use as a forensic tool, a procedure needed to have established error rates. But brain mapping as done in the Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) in Bangalore and a variation called brain electrical oscillation signature (BEOS) profiling in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, had not worked on this factor, the committee said.
Besides Mr. Nagaraj, the committee comprised Narayanan Srinivasan, Senior Faculty, Center for Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad; Narayanan Dutt, Professor, Department of ECE, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; N. Pradhan, Professor and head of the Department of Psychopharmacology, NIMHANS; Venkatasubramanian, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, NIMHANS; and M.S. Rao, Director and Chief Forensic Scientist, Directorate of Forensic Science, New Delhi.
In a typical criminal investigation, suspects first undergo a lie detection test followed by brain mapping and narco-analysis.
The team began its study in May 2007 at the request of the Directorate of Forensic Sciences of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A country which is going backwards in law enforcement with every terror attack asking the world to take steps without bothering to do anything itself....
UNITED NATIONS: Seeking early adoption of a comprehensive convention against terrorism, India has said the failure of the UN member states to reach an agreement on the issue limited the impact of efforts to deal with the menace.
The UN member states need to adopt early the Comprehensive Convention Against International Terrorism (CCIT) to reinvigorate multi-lateral and collective dimensions of counter-terrorism efforts, India's envoy to the world body, Nirupam Sen, told the 192-member United Nations General Assembly.
The Assembly's inability to reach an agreement on concluding CCIT limits the impact of its counter-terrorism efforts, Sen told the delegates on Friday.
Failure of member states to reach an agreement on the definition of the terrorism is holding up the Convention. Some had been advocating that liberation movements should be excluded from the definition.
Describing terrorism as a "pervasive and insidious" threat to global security, Sen sought a concerted action to root out its networks and deter regimes from encouraging and harbouring armed extremists.
He asked the world to act as one in denying terrorists, their ideologues and financiers access to arms, funds and means of transportation of their deadly goods and safe havens.
Referring to "intricate linkages and networks" that unite terror groups, he said they can only be challenged through concerted international cooperation and efforts by way of extradition, prosecution and information flows.
"India is engaged in these efforts at the regional as well as bilateral level," Sen said.

A country which is going backwards in law enforcement with every terror attack asking the world to take steps without bothering to do anything itself....

Most of the arrested terrorists are men. How did they start having menstrual cycles?sum wrote:For instance, body temperature, heart rate and menstrual cycle, induced factors such as exercise, fatigue, drugs and alcohol and constitutional factors such as age, intelligence, gender and personality of the individual all played a role which needed to be taken into account, something the existing method does not.
Did the police conduct free sex change operations on them while in custody?
Re: Internal Security Watch
A long list of charities and their alligiences was publised on BRF sometime back..
Can somebody point to that post or the details please?

“Nobody fights over spirituality,” says Kumar. The war is over theology and the power that comes with organised religion.
and we all know which two religions are the most organized, cash rich and
looking to expand their corporate footprint.

......Indian Mujahideen meet in Dec decided to intensify terror attacks
Rakesh K Singh | New Delhi
Representatives of the Indian Mujahideen, the new face of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), had attended a meeting of the United Jehad Council in Muzaffarabad in December where they had decided to intensify attacks in central and southern India, besides Jammu & Kashmir.
The Lashkar-e-Tayyeba had assured the Indian Mujahideen that sleeper cells and other resources of the former would be provided to the latter for subversive activities.
"The renewed resolve by the LeT will be backed by intensified infiltration bids in Jammu & Kashmir for carrying out terror strikes in the trouble-torn State, besides extending the violence to the hinterland," a senior intelligence official said.
The meeting also resolved to propagate the violent agenda through circulation of its publications like Al Tayibaat, Ghazwah and Al Dawa amongst the cadre and sympathisers. They had also decided at the meeting to target a national English daily as was communicated to a television news channel after the Ahmedabad serial blasts in July.
The LeT had asked the IM representatives to own up responsibility for blasts in the country minus the ones in Jammu & Kashmir where the former alone will claim credit.
The Lashkar commanders also assured the Indian Mujahideen that its sleeper cells in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat could be used for furthering the terror agenda across the country.
"This meeting was held to renew the infiltration bids by the Pakistan-based terror groups, who had been waiting for long at various launch pads. New infiltration points are being explored for the purpose and such efforts are likely to increase in the near future," the official said.
Amir Hamza of Jamaat-ul-Dawa (JuD) had addressed the meeting. JuD is the new front of LeT launched after the ban on it by the US. About 3,000 people had attended the meeting, officials said.
Security officials also apprehend that infiltration is likely to go up in the coming months as the terror outfits tend to exploit the prevailing disturbed situation in Jammu & Kashmir.
A similar meeting was held by the Hizbul Mujahideen on Thursday where they resolved to step up violence, particularly in Jammu & Kashmir.

War on Terror - And finally the Pakistan Link
Offstumped started this quest to unravel why Tarun Tejpal’s Tehelka went out of its way to bat for SIMI. Offstumped then revisited his ISI links from past and his recent investments. However the SIMI trail to Chicago’s so called Indian Muslim Community opened up an intersection with Tarun Tejpal’s felicitaion by IMC-USA a Chicago based Muslim Organization.
Earlier today we tied IMC-USA the front organization for opposing Narendra Modi’ visa and favorite of Communal Socialists in India to Mr. Syed Azmatullah Qadri of Chicago. It turns out Mr. Qadri is the President of Chicago’s Mosque - The Muslim Community Center. Now Offstumped has uncovered a document by the Pakistan Embassy that lists contributions from Mr. Qadri’s Mosque to the Pakistan President’s Relief Fund via the Pakistan Consulate of Chicago.
See how the whole story ties up.
23rd Aug 2008 - TOI reports SIMI link to CCIM Chicago from e-mail intercepts in 2001
19 Aug 2008 - Tehelka reveals a 3 month investigation by Ajit Sahi in favor of SIMI
Rewind 3 months to May-Jun of 2008
May 31st 2008 - Tarun Tejpal of Tehelka goes to Chicago to be feted by IMC-USA for Tehelka expose on Gujarat Riots before the Gujarat elections
Above 3 establish
- SIMI link to Chicago Indian Muslim organizations
- Tehelka link to SIMI
- Chicago Indian Muslim organizations link to Tehelka
So who are these Chicago Indian Muslim Organizations and what is their agenda ?
1994 - Book “Muslim Communities in North America” describes in great detail the Indo-Pak Muslim Organizations of Chicago. The piece is authored by Prof Asad Hussain, founder of CCIM, Chicago
How are these Organizations relevant today ?
IMC-USA is the main organization that has been active in putting together the Coalition for Genocide to lobby the U.S. Government against granting a visa for Narendra Modi.
IMC-USA is registered in Chicago. Its Tax records reveal Syed Azmatullah Quadri to be the main person behind it.
Who is Syed Azmatullah Quadri ?
Mr. Quadri wears many hats but he is rarely associated with IMC-USA in its media releases. In fact several recent press releases quote Mr. Quadri as founder of IMANNET. It is interesting to note that press releases promptly condemning the Hyderabad Blasts and the UP Blasts but no press releases ever since the Indian Mujahideen started claiming responsibility for blasts - Jaipur, Ahmedabad etc…
So what exactly is IMANNET ?
To understand how much of a Islamic fundamentalist organization IMANNET is sample this solicitation for funds at a New Jersey Mosque that had Mr. Quadri’s comrade in arms Mr. Ubaid as a speaker.
To also understand IMANNET’s Pakistan links see this appeal for funds by MR. Ubaid.
How are CCIM, IMANNET linked ?
Upward Bound Program an educational Program for the advancement of the underprivileged Indian Students that is supported by Indian Muslims Education Foundation of North America (IMEF North America) lists both Mr. Asad Hussain of CCIM and Mr. Quadri of IMANNET as Advisory Members describing their day jobs.
Asad Hussain, Ph.D. (President Islamic College, Chicago)
Syed Azmatullah Quadri (President Muslim Community Center, Chicago) - also read page 237 of the above book to know more about Muslim Community Center, Chicago.
Also see April 2002 event in Chicago that lists Asad Hussain and CCIM Chicago participate in Gujarat riots related event.
Also see April 2005 letter to editor in InFocus Magazine from Mohammad Yacoob National Chairman, CCIM on lobbying U.S. State Department for denial of visa to Narendra Modi the campaign for which was lead by Mr. Quadri’s overt organization IMC-USA under the banner of Coalition against Genocide.
Also see Assad Hussain’s Biography that appeared in WCMIR News Letter Winter 2007 which refers to his association with both CCIM and Muslim Community Center as well as his failing health which perhaps explains why we dont hear of him anywhere on IMC-USA’s campaigns.
How do the Qadri’s of Chicago link to Pakistan ?
See this blog that describes the Qadri family as influential in Chicago practically running the Muslim Community Center.
And finally this Pakistan Embassy document that lists some kind of fund raising between 2005 and 2006 (President’s Relief Fund) and lists Contributions from the “Muslim Community Center” as well as from 2 Qadris Saleem and Anam c/o Chicago Pakistan Consulate, Chicago.

John Dayal moaning about Ekal program of VHP
( Means that ekal works )
http://indianchristians.in/news/content/view/229/48/
Shyam Gupta, the central joint secretary general of the VHP who is directly in charge of the VHP projects in tribal areas, says the target is to reach 100,000 tribal villages (a fourth of the total villages in India) by 2011. Sokw reports suggest that the Sangh may well have over 50 to trained 60 ,000 voluteers in the villages already.
At the core of the VHP tribal project is the one teacher school. All would be well but for the fact that this teacher is an RSS card-holding cadre, trained by the Sangh Parivar is everything from use of arms to ideological pedagogy. There is no state government certification of the schools, nor of the curricula, and of course not at all of the textual material and propaganda literature and aud io visual aids that are used ins several of these schools. In the absence of any such supervision by the state, or audit by the authorities, civil society groups fear that the children are subjected to a systematic pedagogy of hate. For the record, Gupta says the VHP focuses on a four-point programme, which contains education, health, economic progress, and self-respect.
Despite repeated demands by civil society groups, the Vajpayee government failed to give any data o n the amount of funds that were being received by the groups.
